Lesson 40: Summer Solstice Festival

The demonic crusade ended empty-handedly and the mercenaries felt incompletely burnt, but there was talk of sending a massive reconnaissance team the next day, which was motivated.

June 22nd.

Early in the morning, in the rain, which finally became light rain, a reconnaissance team was sent out by the defense and the Marcut Mercenaries.

The reconnaissance team was formed by five teams of ten, but three Ashley, Ray and Stella were not selected for the reconnaissance team.

In the evening, the rain stopped and the sun began to shine.

A reconnaissance team leaving early in the morning returns one after the other. But none of the squadrons could find traces of the demon clan, and he had a tired look on his face.

(Where did the demons go? I wonder if they've already retreated... they've crushed Auga, which is their maximum power, and I don't know what they were doing, but they've made me abandon where they were performing the ritual, and possibly re-compartmentalize it once...)

Ray was thinking about that, looking at the scouts coming home.

Before dinner, Valeria, the captain, informed me that she was leaving the day after tomorrow.

"Today's reconnaissance did not reveal any traces of the Demon Clan. So I'm leaving Turok the morning after tomorrow at 7: 00 a.m."

It was originally scheduled to leave on June 19th with Meracrino's merchant squad, but it had been postponed because it sent out a demonic crusader.

If the Demons could have been discovered in today's reconnaissance, crusaders would have been organized again, but they couldn't even find traces, so there was no longer any reason to keep the Mercenary Corps, the Mercenary Guard of the Mercenary Corps, in place, so that the Mercenary Corps could leave.

Commander Hinschlwood announced that he would send twenty escorts from the defensive forces until he passed through the dangerous area, both in concern about the existence of the demonic clan and in apology for retaining the merchant army.

(Is there about forty-five escorts? With all this, we can handle a demonic raid. But even though it's only for two days, is it okay to reduce the strength of the fort?

June 24th the following day.

The merchants, who had been preparing since before dawn, left the village of Chulock at 7 a.m.

Before I left, Commander Hinschlwood was also here to drop me off to greet Hamish and the others.

"Lord Hamish, I want you to join the next contingent. This time the enemy feels very dangerous. I want a trusted ally."

Hamish offered his right hand,

"Probably not us, the Knights of the Springs, the dispatched troops. But if we have a meeting to participate in, let's say yes or no. Bye."

Hinschlwood is also nodding as he takes that right hand.

The return journey will be almost the same as the journey.

Basically, it's downhill, but the wagon can have stones that can be taken around here, so the wagon is loaded more than it goes.

The stone was put in a large crate and placed in a carriage.

Before he left, Ray had asked Ashley why he bothered to carry heavy stones.

"Don't you have to bother putting heavy stones on it?

"They say the blacksmiths buy the stones around here because when they do special treatments, they start to produce high heat. You said it wouldn't sell that high, but it's better than going home in the sky."

(A black stone that gives off heat? Is that coal? You should have seen it)

Coal-like stones are also transported to the city of Bridgens en route, where they are treated and then transported to Fonce and others.

Finish the first day of camp with no worried demon raids.

On the second day, in front of the village of Millis, the guards of the defense returned to the parting fort with the merchants.

The weather was still good and we arrived in the village of Bogby on June 27, the day after we left the village of Millis.

From the village of Bogby to the city of Bridgand went well, and on June 30th, the merchant corps passed through the most dangerous periphery.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, from Valeria will be well known to all Squad Five.

"I don't need an all-day escort tomorrow because I have to reload my luggage. As you know, it's summer solstice tomorrow. I'm sorry I couldn't get back to Fonce, but I need you to fully stretch your wings here at Bridgend. That's it!"

Sell off the coal you've been loading here, purchase Demonic Crystal Stones, Demons, Beast Fur, etc. which are Bridgend's specialties, and transport them to Fonce.

For this reason, on the first day of July the following day, there will be no need for escorts and free movement.

The Rays head from the commercial guild to the inn where they also stayed to get there. Along the way, Ray was asking Ashley what would happen to the Summer Solstice.

"Is there something in the summer solstice?

"Well, you don't know Ray. Festivals take place all over the summer solstice. Fonce brings people together from nearby villages to dance in the central square. I don't know what we're going to do here in Bridgand, but there are so many adventurers here, it's going to be a pretty fancy festival."

(Is it like a summer festival? You wanted to see the festival on Fonce. If it weren't for the demonic raid, we might have reached Fonce. I feel a little spared......)

When they arrive at the inn, there is the eve festival, which means that the mercenaries roll out to the city one after the other.

The Rays and the Fifth Squad are also rolling out into the city. Before leaving, Hamish and Alberic were invited, but Valeria and the others acted together, so the five of us went out into the city.

Ray had no idea where he was going and had asked Renzi, who had been to this city many times, where he was going.

"Where are you headed?

Renzi laughed.

"I have a little hole. Stay tuned."

The four other people besides Renzi follow her as they look at each other.

Pass the square near the center of town and enter the narrow alley.

Through the alley, I saw a liquor store with lots of adventurous men and women in and out.

"I'm going in here. This is a tavern for adventurers, but they have a reputation for good liquor and food. Besides, the bard shows up a lot, so you can hear the song. Come on, I'm coming in."

I enter the tavern about Renzi, who confidently cares about the entrance.

Still, it was just five in the afternoon and it was bright enough outside, but the table was already quite filled and surrounded by the enthusiasm of the adventurers screaming out loud.

Luckily we find an empty table and the five of us take our seats.

Renzi blows a finger whistle and calls the waitress, asking for booze and cooking.

Ray looked around and the adventurers of various gears were juggling alcohol.

(Sounds like you went straight from some kind of guild. Do you feel like you're going belly-up and going straight into the eve festival?

When the booze reached everyone, Renzi was urging Ashley to take the head of the toast.

"Me? You don't have to make a toast, do you?

"You're the squad leader. Look, the booze's gonna warm up. Whatever. Just get started."

Ashley gives up and takes the head of the toast.

"Now, pray for the accomplishment of our Mercenary Corps request, cheers!

"" Cheers!

The voices of the five cheers echo, hitting Yale's jock.

The food is carried one after the other, filling the table.

"But you'll get extraordinary income when you get back. I defeated the Auga, and I took a request from the state. That would add more than a hundred to the 200 C (krona) for this job assignment."

The remuneration for this escort was determined on a grade-by-grade basis, with seven grades like Hull fixed at two hundred C and the Rays five at three hundred C. Joining the Demonic Crusaders also added 30C per capita to it, and Auga was a good job for the Hal's young mercenaries, as they would receive a 100C bonus per capita.

Hal spoke cheerfully as the liquor entered and his nostrils rose warm. I saw how it went. Renzi looked mean,

"The money goes in, but haven't you forgotten what's important? Talk about being treated like captains."

To the words, Hal suddenly gave a frightened look and stumbled on Ashley with a pitiful voice.

"Trying to forget the corner, but don't remind me... Mr. Ashley, can you survive, me"

"You can't. Whether it's me or Ray or Stella, you better get your suicide note ready. Only instant death can't help as many lay... kukuku"

Ashley starts talking with a tough face, but at the end of the day she was being attacked by a laugh attack.

"Please don't say that. It was Mr. Ashley who recommended it. Say something, Ray."

"Try not to die instantly. Hope my magic hasn't run out after that."

Four other than Stella burst into laughter at Ray's words. Although Stella never raised her voice either, she was smiling.

(Seems I could have been accepted again. Master Ray laughs with pleasure. I don't like leaving you two. Together forever...)

As time goes on, so does the hustle and bustle around us.

Following that, their voices were also louder and conversations could be heard around them.

One adventurous man approached their table.

"Am I a mercenary? Is that arm Red Arms?

And Ray said,

(tangled? Because a mercenary came into the territory of an adventurer? We're adventurers too...)

With an alarming ray in sight, Ashley rises.

"Yes, but is there something wrong?

The man looked at her attitude, with his head on,

"I'm sorry. Did I make a mistake because I look like this? No, because you heard Hamish the Red Arm was with you, I just thought you were listening. Rumor has it you've had a fight with Auga in Turok. Tell me about it."

Ashley softens her attitude to the word and urges the man to take a seat.

"Hal, you talk to him. It is seen as familiar to me and Ray. Renzi's fine, but you'll be the funniest person to talk to."

"What! Do you want me to talk to you then when you hang on death! Fine, fine. Anyway, I don't know..."

It was Hal who pretended to be a bully, but soon he starts talking at his usual rate.

"Yes, I was dead then, if it weren't for the captains... when the temperamental slash of the captain slapped and slashed Auga's right leg, Auga tried to get out of balance and get on his knees. But that wasn't the only attack by the captain. Just before the orga broke my knee, I slapped it off with a knife that gave back my lowered orga neck... do you know Al the armored one? I know. Now we're going to talk about that Mr. Alberic. That guy was awesome, too. Make it that rigid bow and it's unbeatable. Exactly pierce Auga's eyes...... I was up against Auga with Renzi, who is here too. We can't beat the captain, but the captain taught us how to beat the Auga. Your sword slashes Auga's knee, and I pierce his throat. The captain wanted to show us this..."

Soon there were hedges around in the flowing narrative of Hull.

(Hal misrepresents my magic, too, and talks about good things. I'm sorry to say, but isn't the lecturer better suited? Even those of us who watched will be drawn...)

"... and as Auga disappeared in front of the captain and tried to go help his people, I heard Mr. Alberic screaming..." There are enemies up there! "A dozen on the hill, no, there could have been more. Those orgasms were staring down at us Red Arms. But when the captain glanced at us, the orgasms fled without attacking us. I guess they figured it out. That there are beings in this world that should not be dealt with..."

At the end of Hal's story, the tavern, which should have been surrounded by hustle and bustle, was quiet.

"Wait a minute. Didn't you get beaten up by an orga and not see where they run off? I'm not wrong, but you're doing too well."

Renzi puts in a penetration as he slaps Hal on the head "Ha". In contrast, he answers flatly.

"I did suffer. But I'm part of the Red Arms, too. Suffer, but be able to fight properly at all times...... Ouch! It hurts!

Renzi laughs and lightly pokes at Hal's flank.

"I would have totally lost my mind, but here's a nice punch of an orga."

"It hurts. I could have talked in a nice corner... but it's ruined."

Hal's voice, who complained in tears, invited the adventurers to laugh, and the quiet liquor store filled with original vibrancy at once.

"No, brother. That was a good story. Your work is half as good as it sounds, Mr. Hamish. Well, it's my luxury. Drink."

Ray was freaking himself out about whether he was going to be in trouble with the adventurers or not.

(You mean Mr. Hamish has a lot of fans in the adventurers? And Hal is smart. I convince everyone here, not to mention me or Stella at all. And it looks like it really blew out. He's a good buddy...)

Ashley also looked at Hull,

(You blew it off. No, even if I still have an inner obsession, I'm wearing the art of hiding it well. This guy could get bigger. I feel like I have talent as a commander...)

The bard then appeared and the venue became even more exciting.

They made a lot of noise with the adventurers and, although they were drank scattered, managed to make their way to the venue of the eve festival after 8 p.m.

"No, you had fun. But Hal's story is too funny."

"Right. This guy is better suited to a lecturer than a mercenary, not at all. But you suddenly started talking and often hid Ray's magic story. No, I'm really talented."

Renzi is laughing as he bashes Hal's shoulder.

"It's terrible, Mr. Renzi. I'm looking to be a superior mercenary like the captain."

"Oh, I think you have talent, too," Ashley puts her hand on Hal's shoulder and tells him.

Hal looks as if he's always stood aside, "Please don't tell me the talent of the lecturer or anything," he invites everyone to laugh,

"Honestly, I don't know my talent as a swordsman. But I have a talent as a commander. I'm not like my father or my sister Val, I'm a different type of commander."

Everyone is surprised by Ashley's serious story.

"If Ash says so, don't you have one? Whatever you say, you're looking at all kinds of commanders with Mr. Hamish, aren't you?

"Yeah, I used to be a direct report to my father. Commander of the Knights of the Springs, and leader of other mercenaries."

Hal has no words for serious talk.

"Either way, we have to raise our arms, no commander, no snag."

Renzi slaps Bassin on Hull's back that solidifies.

"That's right. But I'm happy for you. That's what you can tell Mr. Ashley. Even if it's a lie..."

"I'm not lying. But not necessarily my idea."

(I wonder how Ash encouraged Hal? You didn't tell me in the end... but good. Mr. Renzi has always been the same...)

Again, the topic changes to a story without other love.

Ray now realizes he doesn't know where he's going and asks Renzi to take the lead.

"By the way, where are you headed?

"It's the prettiest part of the eve festival. Even so, I'm the only one who knows."

After a few minutes of walking, you reach the gorge that flows through the center of town.

On both banks of the gorge, colorful lighting magic props hang, beautifully illuminating the surface of the water, "Everyone".

There were many young men and women who wore them to see the beautiful scenery.

(Wow. Not at all like the lighting up of the original world or anything, but this is, this is interesting and beautiful. Sounds like a spiritual flush......)

"I really want to come between lovers. Ray's fine. With flowers on both hands. I wonder why there's no good man beside me."

"I'm here, Mr. Renzi. Put your arms together... it hurts."

As Hal moves next to Renzi, an unrelenting elbow slap strikes him.

"I'm going home. A little bit more upstream, they say. Hal, mind your own business."

When Renzi and Hal leave the scene, they become three: Ray, Ashley and Stella.

As Ashley moves to the side of Ray, Stella starts walking in a way that follows behind the two of them.

Heading upstream, when I reached the place overlooking the gorge, there were beautiful flowers of light blooming beneath my eyes in the serpentine fresh stream.

"Let's see some more"

That's what Ray said, as he lowered his back to a nearby rock, Ashley sat beside him and Stella stood behind him.

And the three of them looked quietly at the surface "Everyone".

For the first time in a long time, Ray felt a slow time was flowing.
