Episode 75: Triumph: The Later

October 12th.

King Lionel XII left Fort Chulock after a two-day stay in the village of Chulock, protected by one hundred Kingsguard knights and two hundred Third Battalion attached by Knights Commander Victor Lockletter.

Three days later, at 5 p.m. on October 15, he arrived safely in Bridgand without a worried raid, while he could not grasp the news of the vanished Demon Army.

Despite the touch of the Kingsguard knights, the attitude of the citizens on the King's arrival was stiff.

The defense team and some merchants, just to repeat their seated hail, had white air covering the city of Bridgens.

Especially when the third battalion of the Knights of the Springs showed up, there were even those who turned away and went back inside the house.

The king had remembered the prophecy he had received from the Knights Commander a few days earlier.

(What Victor was saying is getting serious. If Bridgand were like this, the Wang Dynasty (Fonce) would be even worse. You have to hit something...)

He kept pushing his dark thoughts into his chest and waving at the people along the way.

Upon settling in the Inn in Bridgand City, he immediately summons Arwell Kilgaroho and Baron Dowland, the military superintendent.

Arwell did not evil, he appeared with the usual expression, but Dowland had a nervous face, keeping his face down and making it magical.

"It's Arwell Kilgaroho. That should have taken the rest of his life and made him an advance soldier to defeat the Demons. Why did you abandon your battle with the Demons? If you have an opening, let me know."

When the king inquired so with majesty, he began to reopen and make excuses, grinning softly.

"I say. In the first place, our power was too little against the enemy's power. Keep fighting, and the advance party will be wiped out. I saved the Knights' strength and prepared them for the upcoming showdown."

The King finds wrath in Arwell, who makes the escape over this period.

"Then ask on top of each other. I hear that you kicked the prostitutes' suggestion to send out scouts. If you're complaining about the difference in power, why didn't you send out a scout?

Unaware of the King's wrath, Arwell continues his explanation with a plain look.

"On that, because no one advanced the need for scouts. On the contrary, they even argued that it would not be possible to strike by surprise."

"You want to say that it wasn't your own fault, that your men were incompetent?

"No, I was also responsible. But there was an error in this operation itself. Being a front-line commander, I'm not convinced that I have all the responsibility."

"Do you want to say that you are still responsible..."

The king desperately indulges in the possibility of yelling, questioning Dowland, who refrains beside him.

"Baron Dowland, what do you think of this one as an advance military superintendent?

Dowland kept his face down, forcing him to hold down his voice, which was about to rub upwards,

"I believe this lapse is the responsibility of Third Battalion Commander Arwell Kilgaroho..."

Arwell raises his voice of anger at the words.

"Hey, what! You…"

"Refrain! I don't remember giving you permission to speak that way!

The king drinks so much and urges Dowland to continue ahead.

"Captain Kilgaroho withdrew from the prophecy of the warring mercenary, prostitute commander Hamish Markat, and furthermore even turned away Niges Leland, an experienced deputy captain. At that time, he made a public statement that he would not listen to all mercenary prophecies."

"I see. And what about sending out scouts"

"As for the scouts, Markat and the adventurer, Ray Arklite, who was requisitioned by the Knights Commander as attached to the command, had affirmed the need for the scouts. But the captain didn't take that up. What's more, Arklight didn't take care of his own dangers and tried to scold him, but it's even jamming him. Arklight's actions are inherently beyond the authority of the Captain. He was ambushed in front of Chulock because he even forbade him to act voluntarily."

"Mm-hmm. It's Kilgaroho. That's what the military commissioner says, no doubt about it."

Arwell glances at Dowland,

"This person is false. Those who arc light are one of the prostitutes. He was close to Marcat and was doing something to discredit me."

"That would be false, wouldn't it? You only confirmed it with your eyes."

to the word of the king. Arwell dwells on the answer, but

"Yes, no, but... he always behaves with Markat..."

"I didn't hear that! I'm asking you how you found out!

When the king drinks, Arwell keeps his face down and can no longer answer anything.

"It's Dowland. That seems to be true, but why are you giving this person an opinion?

Dowland went on a bet.

"I give it to Your Majesty. The position of petty officer is in the military supervisor, at the sight of war. I have no authority to give opinions on tactics, operations. But I also regret it. If this were to happen, I should have given my opinion by deviating from my authority..."

He was the one who would take himself to the Duke of Kilgaroho family and naturally thought he would be held accountable for this. For that reason, I kept thinking about how to say escape.

He took one bet. On the bet of asking the King if he should have deviated from the authority of the military superintendent in the dark.

And Dowland won the bet.

The king remembered the post of military superintendent and gave up pursuing it further, saying that he could not admit any further deviation from authority.

When the king stops pursuing Dowland, he says coldly to Arwell.

"As for the disposition of such a thing, we shall consult with the Four Dukes as soon as we return to the King's Capital. But this time it never ends with a light disposition. Be prepared."

Having lowered the two, the king was beginning to think about how he should make use of Arwell's disposition.

He comes up with making Arwell a public execution.

(If you flee in front of an enemy, it would also be possible to execute publicly. But don't blame me for this. Apart from whether it is reasonable or not, the very act of withdrawal is not subject to disposition…)

And when I found him guilty, I was beginning to think about how it would affect me.

(The question would be in response to his failure to perform his duties as commander at all. In that case, the remainder of the responsibility for the appointment on death row is also called into question. It should cut the power of the Kilgaroho family, but the rest has also cut its own power. If only we could get that back at that person's disposal......)

The King's horizons remained within the court.

(That's right! As a kingdom in this case, you should not be guilty of a felony. If we leave the disposition to the Kilgaroho family, we should be able to cut the power of the Duke's house. If it's a sweet disposition, the civilians won't allow it, and if it's a tough disposition, there's an upset running in one gate. You just have to use this hand. If the Victors return, I will dispose of them as the Knights. As soon as you return to Wang Capital, you will consult the Four Dukes...)

He was satisfied with the idea and thought it would all work out.

Oct. 18.

Hamish and the other prostitutes triumphed over Fonce, the king's capital.

After leaving Bridgend, every time I went through the city or village, I was like, "You did good!" The voice rises and the young women hand over flowers, food, etc. And wherever you go, the excited people raise, "Red Arms! I was wrapped up in a call."

The young prostitutes were at first bewildered by its unfamiliar welcome, but gradually exalted.

As we approach the Wang capital, the voltage of excitement of the people rises even further.

From far in front of the capital, along the road, there were hedges, and upon entering the king's capital, citizens who sought to see them at first sight, and the gaze was filled.

As they pass by, there is cheer from there, and from the upper floors of the building, the women wave petals.

Behind them, the children follow them and walk with the wooden stick as a sword instead of a soldier.

That was nothing more than a hero's triumph.

The veterans, who knew Hamish and Red Arms aliases at the time they were given away, were bewildered by an even more enthusiastic welcome than they were then.

(Why are you so welcome? We certainly fought well, but we have not yet succeeded in the crusade of the Demonic Army. I haven't won enough to be treated like a hero...)

Hamish caught Ray familiar with the psychology of the people,

"So much welcome, you know why?

He also had a bewildered look, "I don't know. And it's amazing," he stayed to share his thoughts.

When the prostitutes arrive in front of the mercenary guild, Duke Selzam, the guild leader, greets them.

Even before the guild, the citizens packed it, and when Duke and Hamish shook hands, so much so that a great deal of applause rolled up.

Duke slapped Hamish on the shoulder,

"Thank you for your hard work. You can talk about the reward tomorrow. Get some rest today."

While he gave a tired look, Hamish decided to stay in the guild to carry out administrative procedures, such as remuneration for the prostitutes.

"I'm fine. More than that, what the hell is this noise about?

"Oh, there's been a rumor spread about your fight for a couple of days. He's going to be back soon, so early this morning he was in the city trying to get a glimpse of it. Well, when I heard that, I didn't know."

Hamish was tilting his neck at the words.

"Try going to a tavern nearby. The bards are singing the poem" Battle of Millis Valley ”. And then, as for the reward, since your story spread, there's been donations from a lot of places. I don't know exactly, but it's got to be a lot of money."

Hamish just said, "Well..." He didn't say anything and went inside the guild.

Once the prostitutes are disbanded on the spot, the Marcut Mercenaries head to their own headquarters, but the other prostitutes are caught by the citizens and continue straight to the tavern.

To listen to them, every liquor store with prostitutes was full, and until late at night the bards heard the poems of the battle of Millis Valley singing.

"The sunshine glare of the sun. Its valley is

Cover it with the shadows of the Black Demons.

……

Oh, the crazy power of ugly oaks,

Swallow the brave men and advance.

Behold, look at the brave men!

Overlay the shield and look like a giant armor.

Swords and spears protruding on all sides shine in silver.

……

The prestigious red arm hero

Follow the six brave men and fight the demons.

Always a white warrior beside a hero.

The warrior is dressed in white armor and follows him like a shadow.

……

And the white warrior unleashed a thunderbolt like a god in the sky.

Devote an odd trick to a red-armed hero.

……

Millis Valley brave man, the Red Arms,

Build the base "Tori" with the oak wreckage "Muru",

The earth is stained with the blood of red demons,

It forms a river and flows.

……

The elf brave man is a strong bow that also reaches heaven,

Shoot the general in the dark night.

……

The numerous rocks thrown by demons,

Cover the heavens and hide the yang.

As at night, in darkness,

crushed by rocks and shielded them as comrades of war,

And one of his valiant men shall lie down on the earth with another.

……

Hate is the betrayal of an ugly knight of heart.

Oh, the kingdom, to the death of the young braves,

What to give.

Besides betrayal and death, what do you give… "

The next day, the king took a hundred Kingsguard knights and returned to the king's capital. Behind them was the Third Battalion, and further behind them was Arwell Kilgaroho and his surroundings. They had been put on horses in disarmed conditions and treated like sinners, although it was not captured.

Citizens who welcomed the kings did not exactly let the king curse them, but when they found Arwell equipped with the 3rd Battalion, plus the Knights of the Springs captain, they cursed and hung on to his mouth.

"Shame on you! You survived with a prostitute as a shield, still a knight!

"I never pulled a sword out of my oak opponent. Hipster!

"You are better than the Demons! They fought more squarely!

The citizens' voltage continued to rise, enough for the Kingsguard knights to seriously think that the king would be in danger.

When one of the Kingsguard knights approached to intimidate a citizen who could be cursed, the king was controlling it and letting the citizens do whatever they wanted.

King Lionel XII felt that some of the flying curses were directed at him.

(Nobody cares about the rest. No, I'm avoiding eye contact with the rest. If Kilgaroho was here, I might have been cursed...)

Behind his heart's disappointment, he was responding to the citizens along the way by creating a smile.
