Trinitas Mundus

Episode 87: After the Demons

October 23rd

The Wang capital, Fonce, was having a peaceful morning with the confusion that had subsided until yesterday.

Ray had thought about yesterday's mess and had decided to drop off today's departure.

(You can't leave yesterday today, can you? There's going to be a call from Lord Braveburn, and I don't know what he's going to say from Lord Kilgaroho... we can't schedule a day today, we're adults, we're going to go to Mercenary Corps headquarters (here))

As he expected, Hamish Markat had a call from Lord Braveburn, who instructed Ray to accompany him as well.

(As expected, are you talking to Lord Kilgaroho yesterday? Or are you talking about Turok?

But they're going to hear something completely different than what he expected.

Entering Lord Braveburn's office, he is greeted, as usual, by a casual Duke voice.

"You had a hard time yesterday. Well done."

The Duke smiles and recommends the chair as he slaps Hamish on the shoulder.

And then we talk about the trends of the citizens and the situation of the wounded, and even more about the Duke of Kilgaroho.

"It's been a long time since I was surprised last evening. I heard a report from Leland that the danger of rioting was gone, and I tried to return to the mansion, but suddenly, His Majesty summoned me, and if I hurried, I was talking about Lord Kilgaroho's hiding. I don't think he's going to say he's going to hide out."

Hamish and Ray, knowing the truth, were listening to the story with a subtle face, against the Duke speaking with a smile.

"What's the matter with you? No way...... Hamish, did you know that it was?

Hamish was cramped with the answer, "No, you know, yes..."

"It was said that Lord Kilgaroho had invited me to report from Leland, but no way, but..."

And the Duke acknowledged Ray's appearance on the edge of his eyes,

"It wasn't in the report, Ray, did you accompany him?

Ray said, "Yes. With the captain's escort…" he replies with a mochi.

The Duke, with a frightened face,

"I don't think so, but you didn't bring out wisdom, did you?

Ray is in trouble, alternating between Hamish and the Duke, but at the end of the day he gives up and nods honestly.

"I'm finally convinced. I thought it was a bold measure for Lord Kilgaroho, but was the mastermind Ray?"

Hamish bows his head "I'm sorry," he says. Ray was also caught and bowed his head with him.

"No, I don't mind. If Lord Kilgaroho hadn't made that decision, the King's capital would still have been in a disturbing situation. But Ray......"

The Duke stared at Ray with a serious look,

"If you're talking about nobility, no, national politics, your identity matters. If you keep your mouth low, you will be eliminated by saying it is not easy. If that's the case, you know what, why don't you reconsider my proposal for once now?

He suggested that Ray should be adopted by the Earl's family and serve the kingdom.

"I know exactly what your Excellency is saying. But I still refuse to do so."

The Duke looks somewhat unfortunate and groans, "Well."

"Fair enough. Going on a journey is no different, is it?

"Yes, I'm thinking of leaving soon"

The Duke nods loudly when Ray says so.

"That's good. I called you today because I wanted to tell you something."

Ray said with a strange face, "Is that what you want to tell me?" "and say the question.

"Oh, it's about light godliness. The priests of the Light Divinity began to look into that. Apparently, in the Battle of Millis Valley, a report was sent that there was a healer using the magic of rare healing. I have also heard stories that the advance party was ambushed but destroyed the Wing Demon. It's like I'm taking the back of them now."

Ray mutters, "Is it light divinity..." and listens even more to the Duke's story.

"That's right. I also hear that Lax HQ is moving straight out. I guess we should leave before it matters."

Ray was feeling depressed to be attached to light theism.

(Are you still going to be involved here... well, I didn't have a particular conflict this time, and if you get out of the kingdom Lax, you won't be able to reach the headquarters of Lax... oh, speaking of which, I need to thank Your Excellency...)

He suddenly remembered about the report's compensation.

"I'm late to thank you. It's about the other report."

The Duke laughed,

"I don't mind. Even that one is cheap. With Victor, even ten thousand more times cheaper, I might have screwed him into the guild. That was a fourth-grade request, and it couldn't have been paid too much. I thought that was enough at the time..."

"No, even that is too much. In just a few pages of reports…"

The Duke blocks Ray's words and speaks with a serious look.

"Ray, you don't seem to know the value of your report. How many soldiers will be saved in that report...... Victor who is currently fighting on the battlefield will know best, but he can't grasp victory or anything if he fights the dark clouds. Until now, we had craved information about the Demons, but we couldn't even get fragmented information. Yeah, I didn't know how to deal with them."

"But I didn't know that was right..."

The Duke speaks to Hamish, grinning bitterly at Ray, who is unsure.

"That's what you'd think, Hamish?

"You're absolutely right. Anyway, there's too much I don't know about the Winged Demons. Just because we talked in person, I thought it was well worth it."

The Duke nodded satisfactorily,

"That's the thing. Sometimes you don't feel confident. [M] Sometimes you give me a grand opinion. It's funny when it comes to being funny there, but be a little more confident. It's well worth it."

Ray's here. He's lost his temper, he leans down.

(I'm not sure it's the real me, and it's strange that I'm feeling confident and concerned about it. The original Saint "Hijiri" salute "Lei" and now Ray Arklight. Now that I'm used to Ray Arklight, I was just a high school student a little over six months ago... maybe it's the difference in realism. Still, I don't feel like this one is real, which is what keeps me on track...)

After the three had temporarily colluded, Ray and Hamish left the office behind.

Around that time, Knights Chief Victor Lockletter at Fort Chulock decided to follow Ray's report "Arklight Report" which arrived yesterday and to give his full attention to finding an enemy stronghold.

Baron Seaver Gladstone, deputy commander, reformulated the formation of the scouts, which had been heavily damaged, to a formation of about ten, ten times that squadron unit.

In addition, equip bows and crossbows to set up a system that can be used against small demons and wing demons.

From above, the winged lion Griffon Squad was also used to create a way for each reconnaissance squadron to work together, gradually widening its range of enemies.

Until Ray's report came, he was following the enemy figure in the dark clouds because of the perception of the extent to which demons were lurking in the woods, but the goal of enemy strongholds made the crusader's movements visible and efficient.

Mercenaries of reinforcements continued to gather, enriching their fighting power and drastically reducing damage during searches.

Ten days later, in November, when the cold began to get harsher, they discovered a place that looked like an enemy stronghold. It was the village of Denwood, which became an abandoned village around the time of successive demonic invasions.

The village of Denwood is thirty km further northeast from Turok, a village abandoned so long ago that even the villagers of Turok forgot, the presence of the village was revealed by aerial reconnaissance by a winged lion. I saw an oaky figure there, most likely a Demonic stronghold.

Reconnaissance from above did not confirm the enemy's detailed trends, so a battalion led by Victor himself headed for a forcible reconnaissance.

But the Devil's side was also monitoring its actions, promptly abandoning and withdrawing its base in the village of Denwood before the Victors approached.

In order to be cautious, Victor assembles two more battalions and enters the village of Denwood with three battalions.

What they saw, entering warily the trap, was the apparently destroyed abandoned house recently and the corpse of nearly a hundred women.

The women had not been given satisfactory clothing either, and they were running out like they were wrapped in a borough cloth. Their hands and feet were as thin as tree branches, and only their abdomen was unusually swollen.

"What's this all about? Seaver, you know what I mean?

Even as the deputy director sees the tragedy, he does not change his expression at all and investigates it.

"Perhaps this is Arklight's alleged way of” replenishing ”the oak. I don't know where these people were brought from, but I thought they might have been forced to conceive the demon child..."

Victor orders further investigation into the nauseating discussion, even though he remembers his anger.

"Letters, magic formations, pantry, whatever. Find something to lead us to! Seaver, use a squadron to bury these men carefully."

The next day, reports enter that there is a large cave on the east side of the village of Denwood, on the side of the mountain.

Victor recruited the applicant and ordered an internal investigation.

Five hours after the start of the investigation, the investigation team returns and the inside information is reported.

"Inside there was a fairly large room, about fifteen meters in diameter, where there were traces of a magical formation. Behind it were kitchens, bedrooms, etc., that I would have recently used."

"Recently used kitchen... at least that means some guys eat. Thank you. Tomorrow, I'll have the court magician confirm the magic formation. Ask for guidance."

The next day, the accompanying court magician was called to confirm the magic formation, but no details were known except that it was a magic formation of dark attributes.

Balthazar Owomoela, the Great Ghost Operator (Tamer), and Asla Volti, the Winged Demon Spellman, and Yurki Bindler, the Middle Ghost, were lurking in the woods about fifty kilometers north of Denwood Village.

"What are you going to do, Balthazar? We lost our base, and we couldn't replenish the oak."

Balthazar does not exchange feelings on Asura's question and answers low.

"Right. They moved too fast. I thought I'd wander around in the woods near the fort for another month... but now I don't have time to look for a base. We have no choice but to stir it up with our current power."

As Asura shrugged her shoulders,

"Right. It's winter now. The enemy moves slowly. Pulling it as far north as you can is a good idea. Because if it snows, that's all we'll be trapped in. We're getting quite a few enemies, and we're getting there."

Balthazar nods loudly as he agrees.

"So, what are we supposed to do? The number of oaks interrupted six hundred. The sooner you feed the orgasm, the sooner you disappear, less than a month later. You can hunt wild oaks, but it's hardly a battle force."

Yurki's dark voice hangs on both of us.

"Right. You don't have to hunt wild oaks. There's also a feeding problem. The orc that is now here decides to use it to draw its enemies. Use them for” bait ”to pull them this far. We'll both stop them until it snows. All right?"

When Asura and Yurki both nodded, the three returned to their respective troops.

The demonic invasion of the Kingdom of Lax was on its way to the final phase, but there was still no settlement attached.
