Trinitas Mundus

Episode XII: To the village of Thysek

The Rays, who took out the "Nest of the Rough Eagle” where they stayed until the previous day, find an inn near the south gate of Periclitle.

At dinner, Ray thought about Luna more than once, and she had a small mouth count.

Ashley and Stella can't wait to see how he's doing like that.

Ashley, in particular, regretted that she had decided to take this request for herself, although she had broken it once.

(If I had said no, I would have been on my way to Doctus by now. I didn't know that woman was getting the same request... I would have said no to whatever it was if I knew... no, it's still impossible for such a coincidence. There must be something wrong with this...)

"Ray, are you going to remember something? Did you really care about that archer named Luna?

Ray, who was delayed in his thoughts, is bewildered by the fact that he was suddenly told the story.

"Uh... oh, no, nothing yet. It's a guy named Luna's bow, but I think it belongs to the world I was in. And how to use it..."

Ashley and Stella are surprised by the words.

"I did think it was an unusual bow...... really?

"Oh, definitely. That bow was definitely used in the Japanese bow. How is that in this world..."

Stella said, "So is it someone who comes out in the“ novel ”that Master Ray was writing?," he asks, shaking his neck to the side.

"I don't know. I feel that way, but I'm not sure. I almost remembered something when I saw you shoot a bow... well, it's work from tomorrow, and I'll try not to think about it as much as I can"

He is forced to make a smile and change the subject.

"With that said, Mr. Randall had a demonic invasion eighteen or eight years ago, but you know what?

Ray asks Ashley lightly, but Ashley's expression clouds for a moment.

"Eighteen years ago, when my mother died, there was a battle..."

Realizing Ashley's lonely look, Ray hastily said, "I'm sorry. I was listening to you before, and I'm really sorry," he bows his head.

Ashley shakes her neck to the side with a grieving smile for her.

"No, I don't mind. We hadn't talked about it yet. Besides, I don't really remember myself. Talk to Brother Al and Brother Duke to the best of your knowledge."

She's still young herself, and she's just hearing from her father Hamish's ancient ally, Alberic Auger, and Duke Selzam, Fonce's mercenary guild master.

Ashley tells the two of us a story she knows.

"They often don't know what happened eighteen years ago. schematically, but it began with the Demons attacking Fort Toa, a fort east of the Kaum kingdom. He said he was raiding all of a sudden without any sign. And instantly the fort is unplugged with several times the strength of the fort's defensemen..."

Eighteen years ago, more than seven thousand demonic troops attacked Fort Toa. There were about a thousand guards in the fort, but the fort fell without half a month's protection from the ambush and the attack of the demon clan, which did not cause any damage.

The Demon Army invaded the Kaum kingdom with the momentum as it stood.

The Kingdom of Kaum was informed of the demonic raids and requested reinforcements from the nations. Two thousand of the reinforcements who sent out the Wang capital heard the news of the fall of the fort and changed their policies. We'll buy time for reinforcements to arrive, we've cut the rudder to retard.

Buying a month or so in the tenacious retreat of the Royal Kaum Army led to the arrival of reinforcements from the mercenary kingdoms Fortis and Lax.

For its part, the Kingdom of Kaum took advantage of the opportunity and went on the offensive at once.

The location was north of the Kaum kingdom, at the foot of a mountain called Acree Chain, where more demonic armies than number were sandwiched in brilliant collaboration with reinforcements to decorate the great victory. At that time, Hamish, his wife Abby, Alberic, Duke and other mercenaries were part of the mercenary unit of the Royal Lax Army.

At the beginning of the Battle of Acree Chain, the Royal Lax Army was hit backwards by the Demonic Army and once it was on the verge of losing. But Hamish and other mercenary units made the final victory with a tenacious counter-attack. At that time, Hamish's wife Abby and many mercenaries were scattered across the battlefield.

"... there are stories of demonic armies coming around Pericritle at that time as well. There were hundreds of orc herds and dozens of orga herds near the village of Thysek."

"What proof do you have that it's not a coincidence, it's a demon tribe?

Ashley denies "no".

"He didn't see the operator. For this reason, there is a voice from that time onwards that says it is not a coincidence. But there are too many suspicions..."

According to Ashley's story, Oak and Auga went from the south to the village of Thysek, but without attacking the villages and towns along the way, there are even traces of going there. He waited further near the village of Thysek as if to gauge his time. From this, it was said that there was a theory that it might be a maneuvering operation in line with the demonic invasion.

Ray nodded, "I see," and said, "You know what we talked about eight years ago?" I will ask you even more.

"Yeah, I had just joined the regiment at the time, but I was a mercenary for once. At that time I heard that a crowd of nearly three hundred oaks attacked a small village off the main street..."

Eight years ago, a herd of oaks struck the village of Thysek, and all but one of the villagers were killed. The neighboring defense forces, plus adventurers and mercenaries, then carried out a joint crusade to wipe it out brilliantly, but at this time the orc's actions were still suspicious and he persisted in attacking a well-fenced hardy sheltered town called Thornblow. And where the numbers were reduced in that battle, a joint venturer and mercenary force stormed and annihilated.

"And the only survivor is a woman adventurer named Luna I met today..."

"Oh, from what I've heard, they escaped the difficulties by hiding in a vault in the basement of the house. An adventurer who went to the village of Thysek discovered it and heard that one of them had taken her, but I didn't think he was an adventurer."

Ray, who listened to Ashley, was imprisoned by a strong sense of vestigial vision.

(I know this story. I don't know why... but all I can think about is the novel I wrote, Trinitas Mundus. I feel the setting of the novel is heavily involved......)

November 8th the following day.

The investigation team assembled at the south gate and left immediately.

Als Street, south of Periclitle, extends along a large river called the Fatas River.

The Fatas River is a fairly large river with a river width of about fifty to one hundred meters, but there are many difficulties protruding with rapids and rocks like waterfalls, which are not used for water transport.

The streets can see the merchants, but the shortage of mercenaries still meant fewer wagons than usual.

On the evening of November 9th, a trip of 85 km (Michinoli) was followed in two days by the arrival of Thornbrough.

Thornbrough is an accomodation town with a population of about a thousand, built on narrow land sandwiched by rivers and forests.

The walls are splendid in stone, with the strong impression of a fort rather than a town. There were fields around the town, but tree walls were also built there, telling the story of the frequent appearance of demons.

Ashley just crept through the gate and informs everyone of her plans for tomorrow.

"We leave tomorrow with dawn. The proximity to the camp should continue for four days starting tomorrow. I want you to rest enough today to nourish your English."

Dismissed on the spot, the three Rays headed to the inn.

The look on Ray's face as he walked towards the inn could not be dismissed. He has tried many times over the past two days to talk to Luna, but no more conversation was established than a hello to see if she was avoiding him.

(I think I'll remember something if we talk about it... I don't remember doing anything they hated. I wonder where I shouldn't be?... Starting tomorrow, it's in a dangerous forest. Less and less chances to talk...... no. Let's not think about it any more. Concentrate on your work...)

The three of them stayed in a small inn after replenishing the supplies they would need after tomorrow.

Early morning of November 10th.

The thirteen adventurers of the investigation team had assembled before the gates of Thornbrough. I gathered information on the streets to Tisek last night and found it difficult to travel by horse. For this reason, the horse decided to have it kept at the inn and headed on foot.

The sky is clear, but the cold north wind strokes their cheeks.

"It's the road we're going to take to the village of Thysek, but as I explained before, it's hardly used today. Therefore, it was decided to proceed while checking safety due to scouts. Operate each party as a squad with a view to collaborating…"

Since Ashley is a dangerous place almost no different from the woods, he decided to leave the scouts forward to make sure they were safe. We decided to operate on a party-by-party basis, considering it difficult to collaborate with a more rapidly constructed investigation team.

"Aldo, Boris and Hazel are the squad leaders. Line up, but me and Ray take the lead. Aldo behind it, Hazel next, and Lord Boris' squad. Ask Stella and each squad to send out one scout at a time. Let me out of Aldo's squad at first. Any questions?

Even Boris, who was objectionable, did not speak out against it because of her decision to organize it rationally.

Ashley nodded loudly in recognition of the silence.

From Aldo's squad, Aldo himself said he would do the scouts.

"Well, I'll get out at first. Stella, nice to meet you."

Speak gently to Stella.

Aldo laughs and nods as Ashley confirms, "Your squad is set up by Chester, isn't it?

"Oh, so much better for a leader than I am. Don't worry."

Ashley nods at the words and orders Aldo and Stella to go out to scourge.

As the two beasts walked into the woods, Ashley's "Then we're leaving!" I went into the woods with the signal.

As expected, I just said that the streets to the village of Thysek are rough all you want, to the extent that there are road-like traces.

The middle of November meant that the broadleaves were dropping leaves, so the forest was relatively bright and the outlook was not poor.

Aldo and Stella, who had been in the woods and out in scouts in about two hours, were waiting for the main unit.

"Nothing unusual so far. It's Mr. Aldo's shift time."

The two cloaks and clothes that went out to scout remained after scratching the grass, and Aldo saw the colour of fatigue.

Ashley asked Stella, "Do you need a change?," but she shook her neck to the side and replied, "No problem.

Aldo was frightened to see how it was going.

"Seriously. They're moving around a lot wider than me... that's level 45"

Stella responded nothing to that word and went into the woods with Milene from Boris' squad, the next scourge.

Enter the break with Ashley's instruction to take a small enough pause.

Aldo tells Chester he's lying next to him,

"Wow, what about that lady? I thought I'd lose if I was a scoundrel, but I'm a complete loser. You're scratching the grass, but you don't even make noises with Kosori. And you know how animals move more than 100 meters away..."

Boris, who heard the story, would have a remorseful look, but at the same time was wondering what the three of them had come to Periclitle to do.

(Are you saying that the only mercenary in the process is the sword (let's do it)? And what are these guys doing here anyway? Ray, who has such a magical arm that our Milanese is stunned. Stella, a scourge whose fourth grade Aldo wraps around her tongue, and Ashley, the only daughter of that (...) red-armed Hamish. Randall's dad called on purpose...... that's hard to think of)

After enough rest, we go back into the woods.

After going on for about three hours after several breaks, we arrived at a scenic high ground. There awaited the stellars who went out to scout. Stella said she was safe, so Ashley decides to have lunch here.

Ashley was also creepy with relief at reports that she couldn't see Stella's animals and demons.

(Lord Randall's story was that there was danger around here as well. That doesn't even show up as a small demon. I have a bad feeling...)

Ashley warned everyone to be even more attentive and ordered them to leave.

Stella was about five hundred meters ahead of the main unit and was asking around.

(Weird. There are few signs of animals. I barely even speak of birds. There are few creatures within sight. I told Master Ashley that this unpleasant feeling just gets stronger...)

Behind her was a fan of a cat beast man elected from Hazel's squad.

"Something's wrong with the vibe. There's no sign of a creature. What do you think?"

Asked by him, Stella said, "I don't know. But I have a bad feeling about it," he replies looking around.

Moving on further, but quiet in the woods, increasingly without signs of creatures.

As you move on, you start to feel uncomfortable with your neck muscles chilling. And Stella felt it was a gaze that could point the identity of that discomfort at herself.

(Has anyone seen you? Yeah, definitely. I don't know where it's coming from, but they're watching)

"Don't you feel your gaze, Mr. Fan? I don't know where it's coming from, but I can feel my gaze."

Fans rush around to the word.

"I don't know. I don't feel it."

"Really... I don't feel hostile, but it's definitely been seen from somewhere"

Fans anxiously said, "What do we do? Do you want to contact the main unit?" and check with Stella.

"... no, because there doesn't seem to be any danger at the moment..."

I gave a rare and bad tooth cut answer for Stella.

When the sun was about an hour away, the Stellas scouts were a kilometer away from the village of Thysek. Stella suggests to her fans to scout the village by herself.

"It would be dangerous on its own. If you're going, I'm going, too."

She shook her head sideways and said, "It's dangerous, that's why you go alone. If you need anything from me, please contact Master Ashley immediately," he said, entering the village without waiting for an answer.

The remaining fans get a puzzled look, but they can't even go with them, and I just had to wait on the spot.

Inside the village of Thysek there is a line of houses that are about to be destroyed and decayed, and the place that would have been agricultural land is not only grass, but even trees are flourishing.

The place that was the road also grows weeds, and I get the feeling of wasteland rather than abandoned villages.

Stella goes on grassy farmland, keeping her body low.

(I still feel my gaze here. It's stronger than just now...)

Stella feels her gaze from the north and sends her gaze over there.

There was no shadow within sight, but I felt like I could see a blurry black shadow. But the shadow disappeared quickly.

(What's that? I think I just saw something... no, definitely something. There was something floating on that tree)

As soon as that shadow disappeared, the gaze she was feeling disappeared.

(You were still being watched. But what? Who did? I'd better report this to Lady Ashley, Lady Ray...)

We scout through the village, but the demons don't even have wild dogs. She finds a private house that seems to be in good condition and walks inside cautiously, wary of the trap.

The private house was just a primitive one with between the earth and the continuation, with broken entrance tree doors, but the thatched roof was not decaying and the dirt walls were still solid. Stella decided it was in sufficient condition to serve as a base for a short period of time.

(I can fully use it here. There's a stream behind it...)

Stella checked the perimeter again before heading to where the fans were waiting.

On the branches of the tree that Stella stared at stood a young woman with pitch-black hair and wings - Varma Niska of the Moon Demon Nation.

(Awesome survey. I can't believe you noticed my presence even more magically camouflaged at this distance...)

When she lost sight of Stella, she fluttered down to earth from a height of about fifteen meters.

Then he spread his wings and quietly flew in the opposite direction of the Ashleys main unit.

Stella joined the fans and headed to Ashley's main unit.

Join Ashley and the others immediately and report feeling the condition and gaze of the village.

Where Ashley felt her gaze,

"I mean, I didn't feel hostile, but what kind of gaze is that? Tell me how you feel."

Stella chooses words, as she worries about how to answer them.

"What can I say...... is it curiosity? Yeah, I think it's closest to watching something that bothers me."

"Curiosity," Ashley murmured, "How about now? Do you feel that gaze?" and look around.

Stella shakes her neck to the side and replies, "I don't feel it now".

After a few thoughts, Ashley called Aldo, Boris and Hazel for their opinions.

Aldo and Hazel insisted that due to the imminent night, if there is no danger, they should enter the village.

Boris, on the other hand, claims he can't trust Stella.

"Shouldn't we do another reconnaissance of the village? Stella just saw it. I don't trust her."

I hear his point and Aldo argues against it.

"As far as I can tell, Stella's defensive abilities are above level 3. I can't find Stella. I'm not sure I can find the danger."

"I agree. Well, just in case some of you want to make sure, I'm not stopping you."

Ashley ordered Stella, Aldo, Milene and Fan to scout inside the village.

"I'm sorry, but I need a perimeter check in the village. Traces of enemies, traps, whatever. Report anything you notice. That's good, Boris."

Boris replies, "Ooh."

Ray saw how it went and felt Ashley's efforts to grasp Boris.

(Ash's having a pretty rough time. If it's true, I don't need it, but I can't believe I let you go scouting again. Not even hostile, but you care about Mr. Boris who isn't convinced)

Stellas, when scouts departed, Ashley ordered the main unit to move near the village as well.

An hour later, in the evening, Stellas scouts returned and no traces of traps or demons were reported.

Ashley immediately told everyone she was headed to Stella's found private house.
