Trinitas Mundus

Episode Thirty: White Army Again

before 5 p.m. on December 14.

The three Rays left their horses at the inn and headed to Alliance headquarters.

The General Headquarters does not feel as neat as before, with numerous dusty adventurers entering and leaving, many of whom look murderous.

Ray saw how it went and intuited that the situation was pretty bad.

(Can't you find the enemy? I don't know how many adventurers you're sending, but in this wide forest, even thousands of soldiers aren't that hard to hide. Especially if you're a Demon Army with little to no need to procure food, you don't have a problem getting in the back of the woods......)

Enter guild headquarters and look for Lionel Raspade, professor at the School of Magic.

When asked at reception, he was treated like Randall Ogburn's magic advisor to the head of defense, and his visit to Raspade didn't go smoothly either.

(I can hardly even see Dr. Raspade, so it would be difficult to see Mr. Randall. Ask Randall to tell us that we have arrived...)

Ray asked the male staff at the reception to tell Randall that they had returned to Periclitle.

Officials hesitated to tell the busiest defense chief about a young adventurer they didn't know anywhere about, but just in case, decided to give Randall a note.

The official held a note and headed to Randall's room.

Just after the meeting, Randall looks at the note and smiles, instructing officials to put it through his room immediately.

"Bring those three right away. Also, find Mr. Raspade and tell him to come here. It's urgent. I asked for it."

Officials go get the Rays waiting on the ground floor, much laughing at Randall's face.

The Rays, passed into Randall's room, marvel at Randall's enthusiastic gesture of welcome.

"You've come back a lot. If the White Warrior comes, he will have hope."

Randall has been pretty screwed over the past month. Ashley has similar thoughts about whether the weight of responsibility is hounding an extravagant man like him so far into the war.

(No matter how Ray is the "White Army Master," this welcome gesture is unusual. I didn't know a man like Lord Randall could do this... what's going on?

Ray felt the same way,

(I haven't talked to Mr. Randall that long, but he shouldn't have been the kind of person who would have come a little or softly. I guess it's pretty frustrating that someone like that just looked at my face... Also, do I have to play "The Army Master”? It's not a pattern...)

When he enters the reception room next door, Ray asks, "If you can give me some time, let me know what's going on," as he tries to be a sober voice.

Randall began to talk with his grin disappearing until then and wrinkles between his brows.

"You know we found traces that there were over 300 orgasms. We also found that there were more than 2,000 oaks and goblins, and at least 2,000. But we have no idea where they are. Twenty percent or six hundred of the adventurers here were released for reconnaissance as scouts, but I still can't find them..."

Randall's story says he found traces of an orga ten days ago before sending many adventurers to the woods, but he can't identify where thousands of demons are. Several groups of parties following in the footsteps have been out of the news, and there is no doubt that there are demonic armies, but there is no precise information at all about their location, size, etc.

"No matter how deep the forest, if thousands of demons move, there will always be traces. If you follow it, you should be able to discover it without a problem... Mr. Raspade says that the Winged Demons may be using dark attribute magic, but under the circumstances, you are lucky..."

"What's going on with the city's defense plan?

Ray thought he was stepping too far in, a mercenary to one, but he was asking about the city's defense system.

"We are ordering the exterior walls to be reinforced, but now we have to give priority to evacuating the inhabitants, and our hands are not turning. Clearly, there is no defense system at all. Some still don't think this will be the battlefield, either, at the top of the Alliance. I'm optimistic he went to the north to reinforce Lax."

Ray is surprised that no defense proposal has been made in this situation,

"We must attack this place! At least, if you don't hit something soon, it's too late!

Ray immediately listens to the report of the adventurer who went out to the enemy and matches it against the map.

There have been no traces of demons so far in the 20 km range east of Periclitle. Four of the ten parties that followed in the footsteps and headed further east have not returned. However, the range fought by the six parties returning to the report covers the range fought by those four parties, and footprints are reported to have disappeared.

(Thousands of orcs and orgasms should walk in the woods and leave traces on the line, at least like a beast trail. What I can't find is either magically erased the trace or the report is strange. Dark attribute magic acts on the spirit. If the party I came back to was becoming the Devil's Puppet "Kutsuku"...... what do we do? There is no art of finding out if he is a puppet. Making a loud noise will create a suspicious demon...... do we have to wait for the demons to attack us)

"We'll figure out how to explore the enemy's position later. Now it's better to think about a defense proposal. Is it possible to prevent an Auga attack by strengthening the city's walls?

to Ray's words. Randall looked a little unexpected,

"Don't you have to explore the enemy's position? Exploring enemy information is fundamental to battle…"

Ray is forced to make a confident look.

"Of course, you're right. But even if we find out about the enemy, it doesn't make sense if we can't build a defense system in time. Now it will be more important to think about the worst situation and think about what you can do. So, what do you say? Can an auga be prevented by strengthening the city's walls?

(People like Mr. Randall are losing their composure. This city was originally built to exorcise demons, but I don't envisage war. I'm good at hunting demons that strike with a single shot, but I guess I'm not good at protecting them. If they had at least been protected by Thornbrough and the walls of Cardobec, they would have talked differently......)

"You can't. The city's walls work only to the extent of an exquisitely fifth-grade monster. Even if strengthened, a strong august opponent will defeat you in half an hour."

Periclitle's walls were about four meters high, and it was a simple one that was made by piercing the round-tails.

Convenient for spreading the city and has widened the fence several times in the past.

"Thirty minutes… then it's out of the question… I'd like to hear Mr. Randall's opinion"

"Honestly, if you think the enemy's power is three hundred orgs, two thousand orcs, two thousand goblins, you just have to intercept them outside the city. Any more troops... we'll have to escape"

Randall concludes with a gesture of good luck.

"Even if we intercept our enemies, how much power do we have now? Earlier, you said you turned 20% of your adventurers into enemies."

"The second- and third-level (veterans) are calling back, but not all of them have returned yet. Except for the people who sent them to the scouts, there's a thousand five hundred more than six and five hundred less than seven. And then there are the prostitutes by the inhabitants, but there are five hundred or so that can be used? Yeah, some of them are light gods, but I don't consider them a force of war."

(Two thousand and five hundred even if it all goes together. Three thousand for the adventurers who are on reconnaissance on this? The adventurers will also escape the city if they feel their lives are in danger, so there will be practically two thousand more left. Phototheism is going to get in the way too... I knew it felt faster to abandon the city...)

"Is it possible to abandon the city? I think we can still make it."

Randall gave a slightly sad look,

"I can't give up the city. Too many people think they're going to defend the city. There are still over 30,000 people left in the city. First of all, there is no city near here that can accommodate as many as 50,000 human beings... now is a bad time. It's going to be a full winter. Even if we disperse the refugees, we will be close to a wild boarding house in a crude tent. There is no satisfactory food and it should freeze in the cold... leave the city to freeze to death or stay in the city and be killed by demons..."

Ray heard the words and understood the reason for Randall's distressed expression.

(If I could abandon the city, I guess I'd have to do it... for once, take a look at the city...)

Ray resigned under Randall tomorrow after he said he would look at the city and then think of a defense proposal.

Before he exited, Randall said, "I'll make sure you get in my room anytime. Right, let's get a staff officer position ready," he said in a voice.

Randall, who was left, was freaking himself out, having regained his composure just by seeing thirty younger young men.

(The target is eighteen or nineteen young men. I've been called a veteran since before he was born. I didn't know I was gonna look him in the face and just listen to him... maybe Hamish thought the same thing. In Millis Valley......)

Ashley was relieved that Ray was back on track as usual.

(I'm back to my usual ray. Same as then. When I heard that my fathers would be sent to Chulock. I might be able to handle this. But what do you think of Luna? I didn't even show Lord Randall how to ask...)

Stella was thinking the same thing as Ashley.

(Master Ray was undone. They didn't ask me about Mr. Luna because Mr. Randall looked different than before. But now Master Ray is bound to be impotent. I'm sure you're still coming up with unscrupulous measures. If I don't stop...)

It was Stella's imagination that Ray didn't randomly confirm about Luna.

(Luna's, I want to hear about Mr. Tsukiya. But I can't afford Mr. Randall right now. Maybe you should look for someone who seems to know and ask. It might be quicker to ask Mr. Lloyd, Information Division, who has been there before......)

After he left Randall's room, Ray headed to the Information Division room.

The sun had already fallen and many magic props for the lights were lit, but the Information Division room was still as busy as a battlefield to organize the information entering from the adventurers. I'll ask the running officials about Lloyd, but they said he should be somewhere in the city, but nobody knew exactly where he was.

I have no choice but to ask a nearby official about Luna's party, "I'm putting out over a hundred parties for reconnaissance. There's no way we know where the fifth class party is!" and they yelled at me.

(You sure don't seem to be able to do it in this situation. But if you don't tell him quickly, we're running out of time. Full invasion begins on January 1st. I only have half a month left. We need to talk before then...)

He leaves the Information Division room and sits in the lobby chair.

"I'd like to find a place for Luna, but you can't do it in this situation. We have to think about the defense of the city..."

When you say that to whine to yourself, Ashley takes his right hand,

"It's your bad habit. There's me and Stella here. I'll get Luna's information."

"Ash......" he muttered, staring into her eyes.

Ashley responds to it with her eyes and gives Stella instructions.

"Stella, I need Ray's escort. Especially the“ eyes ”of the watchman."

Stella said, "I'll take care of it. So far, I don't feel that gaze, but I'll be careful," he says.

Ray stood up to the two of them to "go back to the inn".

I then ask the adventurers staying at the Arid Eagle's Nest Pavilion for information about the Lunas, but after all, nothing had accurate information in this mess.

Varma Niska of the Moon Demons had lost sight of Luna's whereabouts.

(It's out. I didn't know there were so many people in and out......)

Returning from the village of Thysek in the middle of November, the Lunas remained in Periclitle until the repair of the equipment of the party members, the Swordsman fans of the Beast Man, was completed and into December.

Sometimes the leader Hazel cared about Ray's warnings, but he's been asked to do so once and for all because it's been financially painful in December.

At this time it was too close to the city for Varma to get her hands on.

When I tried to get my second request, information broke out that there was an orga around Periclitle, and the city went into havoc. For this reason, Hazel's party will be turned to the Alliance's emergency request without receiving the usual request.

Many refugees and merchants left the city at that time, so the wing demon watching the gate could not find Luna.

This had an effect on the warnings by Raspade about the magic of the demonic puppet Kutsuku. Randall listened to Raspade and stepped up his vigilance around the city. As a result, the Wingman was unable to approach the gates and streets, which led him to miss them.

Varma, in a hurry, had succeeded in imposing puppet magic on a set of parties.

As Ray expected, he raided and surrendered one of the parties that followed in Auga's footsteps, implanting needle-shaped demonic crystal stones into his body and making him a puppet.

Varma had not only given false information to that party, but had instructed her to get information on Luna.

(But it's okay. The puppets Kutsuku entered the city safely. All you have to do is find your son and bring him to us. Worst case scenario, if you just bring me information, I can handle it. All we have to do is fight time. Orvo - the commander of the Great Ghost Clan, Orvo Kronvar - has no ears to listen to me. So at any rate, we have to contact your son before he attacks the city...)

This invasion of the Demons was drafted by Elise Nortier, the Moon Demons' witch, and approved by the Demons' Council of Chiefs.

The purpose was the invitation of the Son of the Moon, but the command of the invasion of Periclitle was left to Orvo.

As a whole, they condemn the invasion of Lax, and where the power around Periclitle has diminished, they control the city and find the Son of the Moon.

Periclitle has a thin defense, but if you control four gates, it's hard to escape. For this reason, after pressing for surrender with overwhelming force, it was this plan to find the son of the moon and bring him back to his country.

The Periclitle women were also used to strengthen their power and invade the west at once.

Elise herself, was not interested in invading the West, but only compromised because she started the Great Haunted Clan and the Haunted claiming to invade the West.

The Moon Demons were convinced that the tragedy in the village of Thysek eight years ago was a mid-ghost outburst, but the Demon Army could not gain command because the Ghosts were the dominant force. For that reason, it was decided, as a compromise, to give command to Orvo, a great ghost tribe more rational than the middle ghost tribe.

(Sure, Orvo's better at talking, but there's no difference between ghosts. The only way to protect your son is to secure yourself first and use the mess of Orvo's invasion to cross Aquila. Hopefully we can multiply the confusion and escape east from near the Toa - the fortress on the border between the Kingdom of Kaum and Kwaedam Tenebre - but maybe we can't expect that... in any case, we need to find your son soon...)

Around that time, Luna was in the village of Riccadale.

A Class V party is supposed to scout around Rickadale, with six groups of parties in charge of a fan-shaped area (sector) of 10 km and 30 degrees per side and semi-circular scouting on the south side around Rickadale.

Hazel's party with Luna was in charge of the six middle sets, the sector just south of Riccadale. And after scouting today, we were back in Rickadale.

Luna was feeling something creepy about the tranquility of the forest at the village inn.

(The woods are quiet. There should be thousands of demonic armies somewhere in this forest...... I've met demons only twice today. That's just Horn Rabbit and Big Rat...)

The area around Riccadale was originally densely populated with demons of the fourth and fifth grades. This time it was also said to be dangerous for the fifth class party, but a white feather arrow stood at Hazel's party that it would be safer than around Periclitle, which is likely to have an auger.

(Still, that guy, what Ray was saying, is wrong. He said I was being targeted by the Demons, but nothing happened before this. I went into a dangerous forest this time, and I never got into a big demon. The demons came out of the village of Thysek. They must have been targeted. Yes, I targeted those Millice Valley heroes...)

While she felt something hooked in her heart, she didn't try to acknowledge the fact that she was being targeted by the Demons.
