Lesson 34: Peasant Militia

December 15th, 3pm.

Having concluded his meeting with the Bishop of Gastaldi of the Light Divinity, Ray headed to the Guild General Headquarters with his feet.

Confirm the Devil's Secret Service information as worried Ashley and Stella greet each other in the lobby.

"As you expected. Out of the six parties, a party member led by a lady magician named Kirsty comes to ask where the Hazels are going and what they're planning. Intelligence is looking for Kirsty and the others, but so far they haven't found them."

Ray listened to the story and said, "When did you come to hear it?" and embark on it.

"They say it's this morning. I heard it was just around eleven o'clock when we were in the operation meeting. Lord Lloyd's story says Kirsty's party was driven out for reconnaissance until yesterday. And he walked into the Intelligence room this morning, and he insisted on hearing about the hazels."

"About four hours ago? I wish I was in the city. If the Wingman gave us information outside the city, we wouldn't be able to catch up..."

There are about 80 km to Rickadale where Luna and the others are. Winged demons who can fly the sky can get to Rickadale in two hours. But if you're going to travel with a horse, it'll take eight hours to crush it. Furthermore, the sun has already begun to tilt, making it impossible to move in the dark while it is not moving so far.

(We can only hope that those adventurers remain. We already have an order to retreat to the scouts. Information will be passed on to Rickadale tomorrow afternoon. Now I don't have the means to tell you any faster... now I just have to do what I can)

Ray tightened about Luna out of his head and headed to Randall's room.

Randall was discussing Ray's measures with the commanders.

"You've come to the right place. Any good ideas on what to do here?

Randall is in a better mood than yesterday to point to the map.

"We need to talk before we do," Ray tells Randall without looking at the map.

"It's about phototheism, which is a concern. If it works, we can control them."

Randall said, "Right. Nice hand job. Let me know the details," he grins.

"We have separated the Saint Knight from the infantry unit. As for the 100 Holy Knights, we will not be under our command, but 200 infantry and 100 healers are likely to be placed under our command."

One of the commanders has asked, "What are you going to do about the Holy Knight?"

"As for the Holy Knight, it is used for agitation in the form of a" request ”. If you say we'll leave the enemy's most powerful place to you, you won't have to let them get in our way somehow. I have to ask Randall to do something about this..."

Ray gives an overview of his meeting with Bishop Gastaldi and tells him that he needs to speak to the Commander of the Practical Forces, the Paredes Battalion.

Randall said, "Okay. I'll see you later," he admitted.

"By the way, has the proposed defense plan been approved by Congress?

"Oh, I managed to convince him. The district chiefs initially opposed the hardship, but explained that it would have the same result as it had been, eventually reluctantly but following. I attached a promise of cooperation from all the senators. We should be able to secure manpower somehow."

Ray gives an expression of relief, but soon shudders that his measures hold the fate of this city.

(My plan will take the fate of the city. I wish I could succeed, but what if I fail... now more than 30,000 lives are at stake...)

Randall perceived what Ray was thinking and said, "Don't worry. I approved this measure. You have no responsibility," he puts his hand on his shoulder.

"You don't give a shit, give me a plan. If I fail, I'll take the blame. So don't think weird. You got it."

Ray calms down just a little, "Okay," he mutters.

I didn't think the Randalls had the same confident “military master” I showed them in the morning and the weak man in front of them.

(I guess this one is who it really is. He was making us look confident because we seemed anxious. I guess I don't care about something else right now. So you're saying you made it look what it was? Is the other thing light god? Or are you talking about the Demons?

Subsequently, minor modifications were made to the plan, and specific measures were completed.

"This is it! I could almost identify the demonic spy as well. This will not defeat the enemy."

The commanders nodded at it and headed to their own work.

"So do you want to go to the Light God? Still, what kind of negotiations did you have? They're not listening to us at all?

Ray answers Randall's question vaguely, "There's a lot going on..."

"I can't pry. But think of a way to maneuver the Holy Knight. They're the ones who don't listen to what they say the most."

Randall laughs lavishly and walks forward.

As Ray walks, he tells the Ashleys to go to the Light God again and that he has rented a beastly slave.

"It would be nice to accompany Lord Randall, but he borrowed the slave of the Beast... you who make it overshadow my common sense. Rumor only tells me that Luke's Beastly Slave should only listen to the orders of a high priest. Even though it's temporary, I didn't expect you to be under your command as a mercenary."

"I'll tell you more later. What about Stella? It's possible to meet an old acquaintance..."

When Ray says so spicy and bossy, Stella answers as if nothing is going on.

"Of course I will see you. I can pretend to be Ray's escort, and I can think of a way to kill you."

"I don't think so... ok. I want you to take a good look in Stella's eyes."

Stella replied, "Okay," and acted like nothing was going on. But in my mind, various emotions were swirling.

(Master Ray is right, I might meet an old acquaintance. Even if I don't have the same “inside” person, you'll know I'm from “inside”. I don't think so, but maybe you should also think about being brought back or disposed of. Then I'm going to fight, but you two might get annoyed......)

Ashley and the others decide to wait again in front of the Alliance's Information Division, and Randall and Ray head to the inn where the two of them will stay in the Light Divinity.

Ray was worried about Randall, who would not be escorted under this circumstance.

"There may still be the Devil's puppet Kutsuku. You're a defensive commander, don't you need an escort?

Randall looked strange,

"You think I'm gonna take a back in the city? At least in this city, few people can fight and win against me. The guys who can do it with me are in the mountains of Aquila now. Besides, you think it makes sense to put on a weaker escort than me?

Ray has trouble answering and clouds the words "Right......"

"Besides, you're next to me now. With you, we can counter any demonic sorcerer attacking us. Besides..."

Randall cuts the words and puts his face in Ray's ear.

"If I'm freaking out, it's about the morale of the city's people. If I was always walking alone, bringing my escort with me, we'd all be worried, right?

Ray had always remembered that Randall behaved cheerfully before he had his own men.

(Speaking of which, he looked worried yesterday when I went, but if someone came in, he would have changed his face immediately. Neither do I, but people around me care about a little look... I didn't mind about Luna earlier. I'll be treated as a military teacher too, so I'll have to be a little more careful)

The two walked away with a meeting about their meeting with the Light Divinity.

Once you enter the Inn, you will again be guided to the Gastaldi suite.

This time we were also waiting for the battalion captain, Paredes, and Gastaldi's tone had returned to a slightly arrogant feeling like before.

After introducing himself, Paredes opens his mouth.

"He wanted to borrow a peasant militia, is that true?"

I bow my head in the tone of Randall humbling himself.

"We don't have enough troops. With the help of His Holiness the Holy Knight."

Paredes looks grumpy with a "humph" feel, but he was contented with what a high-ranking official, the commander, was humbly showing. I know I'm going to hide it myself, but from time to time, he gave me a look that I could do.

Randall continues to talk further.

"I hear that the Holy Knights are manoeuvrable, magical, melee and all superior warriors. If so, I don't think there's a problem without infantry (...), but what do you say?

Paredes nods loudly as he flirts.

"Our Saint Knight is not like the Country Knight. A magic attack from a horse can be attacked on the enemy's side, from the rear. This is unparalleled and powerful. Infantry and other things are tough for us. Exquisite, can only be used to protect heavy"

Randall suppressed the nigga from about to laugh,

"Then I hope you'll lend me your infantry while we're short."

Paredes said, "Whatever you want. I don't mind crushing it," he nods to Eagle Deep.

Ray was uncomfortable with the word, but stared at the wall without changing his expression.

(I'm not aware that I'm the same person. We say that we are chosen people, that we are not chosen people are tools to serve ourselves... we need to crush light godliness...)

Discussions between Randall and Paredes continue even as Ray thinks about it.

"We are going to ask the Holy Knight to attack his most important goal. Until then, I want you to nurture your English spirit."

Paredes said, "The most important goal? What is that," he embarks on.

"We are in the process of ascertaining the status of the enemy, but it is believed that the main force of the enemy is the Auga and the Winged Demon Lesser Demon. We cannot fight against the Winged Demon, therefore I ask the Holy Knight to incarnate the Devil, the Winged Demon"

Paredes shrugged, "Wingman..." then roughed his nose and bragged to continue his words.

"Let's be good. Surely the devil who flies at high speeds will have to be us. I'll beat you down to double our numbers."

Ray wondered if the Holy Knight had that much strength.

(My light crossbow, a tracked arrow of light, can win enough. But the Saints should only be able to use normal arrows of light. I can barely do that in a row, either, with what Ash told me. So can we counter that fast-moving wing demon? That's what Bishop Azaro - Bishop of Morton for Ray's life - or Priest Bassani - Priest of Light Divinity in the city of Morton, who is good at light attribute magic - would be able to counter it by hand if he was as good a user...)

At the end of the meeting with Paredes, Ray meets lightly to send a signal to Gastaldi.

Gastaldi told Paredes that he was going to give an explanation to the peasant militias and left the room with the Rays.

Because of Randall's presence, he arrived at a warehouse with peasant militias, without any particular conversation.

The peasant militiamen, who admitted to Gastaldi's appearance, gather in haste and all bow their heads on one knee.

"From this, you will come under the command of Periclitle Defense Officer, Commander Randall Ogburn. Obey the command. That's it."

That's all Gastaldi told Ray, sending his gaze back to the inn.

The remaining peasant militias are suddenly confused and begin their private language with Zawazawa.

After Ray glanced at Randall, he began to speak to the peasant militias.

"As the bishop said, I would like to ask you all for our help. also, we are prepared to reward it. First, we will remove this accommodation and accommodate you in an inn in the South End."

The peasant militias still do not understand what is required of them. He looked at each other next door, tilting his neck.

Ray didn't care how it went, he went about it all at once.

"Is there anyone in charge on this occasion?

One peasant militia moved forward.

"I am the head of this Fiscal Village Dispatch..."

The man is a tall, bent man in his mid-thirties, wearing comparatively good gear among peasant militias. But the colour of fatigue appeared darker on the sunburned face.

"I'm Randall Ogburn, head of defense at PericLittle. And this is my staff, Ray Arklight."

Peasant militias flatten at the same time to the term head of defense.

"Wow, I am in a man named Angus in the village of Fiscal. Dear Sir, I worship your honorable face..."

To that appearance Randall lifts his hands lightly and turns his lavish smile to the peasant militias.

"I don't have such a big thing as your face. I'm just a civilian, too. You don't need to be afraid. You just need to talk normally."

Angus and the others look up at Randall's face in horror.

Ray sent Randall a signal with his eyes and started talking.

"So long, Mr. Angus. Please tell me how your squads and squads are organized. The rest of you need to be ready to leave."

On his way here, he was proposing that Randall accommodate the peasant militias in vacant inns to feed his English chi. Nor was Randall going to roughly treat the soldiers who would lend a hand in defense, promising to do something about the budget, etc.

In Angus's explanation, the peasant militias were only divided into twenty men, as a unit during the march, and no clear organization had been decided.

(You really just brought them in a few pairs. At least I haven't been able to organize as an army at all. He said he was a peasant militia, but not a “soldier”. Now... Now, how do I use it...)

Ray decides to leave Angus to the captain, letting him decide on a squad of ten.

We were ready to leave in about an hour, so we set out for Alliance headquarters.

"You don't look like you can use it. Ray, what are you gonna do?

Randall asks Ray that in a low voice.

"You're not going to be able to use it as a soldier. But if we can help you prepare for the trap, we'll be strong enough."

Randall nodded at Ray's words,

"Don't worry about the budget. If we run out of cities, we'll have no budget. From now on, you don't have to ask me. We just need you to report back later."

Ray started talking "but......" but is blocked by Randall.

"I don't have much time right now. And I only have one body. I'll take responsibility later, so do whatever you want."

That being said, he taps Ray's shoulder lightly and adds, "Well, I wish I lived until I took responsibility," he says.

(Mr. Randall thinks his share is bad, too. Then I'll be ready too)

"Okay. But every day, in the morning and in the evening, I go to report."

Randall breaks up with Ray's words in earnest.

The peasant militiamen who arrived at Alliance headquarters headed to the South District with the male staff who appeared at Randall's direction.

Ray looked behind them,

(They don't have the right to protect this city. Maybe we should give him a reason to evacuate this city before the battle...)

The peasant militiamen, led by guild officials, were to stay in an inn in the South District, but all turn their eyes to a higher inn than they thought.

Angus, the leader, began to talk to officials absurdly.

"We don't have enough money to stay in an inn like this..."

The official laughed, "Don't worry about the money. Because the guild will bear it," he replies.

The peasant militiamen who heard the word still don't believe it or try to enter the assigned inn.

officials shouted so that they could all hear,

"You said that Commander Ogburn would pay for the accommodation, in honor of everyone who helps. Don't hesitate to enter the inn! And about the liquor at meal, I'm not going to say unlimited, but up to two drinks per person, you can drink it!

And finally, "Meet me tomorrow at 8 a.m. in front of Guild General Headquarters. Staff Sergeant Arklight should explain what you're all going to do," he said, urging you to enter the inn.

Angus still looks incredible, but decided to believe the official's words.

"Everybody! The bishop also told us to follow the instructions of Commander Ogburn! It's incredible, but let's get into the inn!

The peasant militiamen, led by each squad leader, enter the inn in his words.

The adventurers staying at the inn were curious about the arrival of soldiers dressed in worn out gear.
