Trinitas Mundus

Lesson 39: Researchers

At the end of Kirsty's interrogation, puppeted by the Demons, and his subsequent treatment, Ray had used up most of his magic and had a tired look on his face.

(Fine, you used magic. You might want to let me rest later......)

As Ray tried to sit in the chair, Raspade turned behind Maisie, the healer, the victim of another puppet, Kutsuku, as he said, "The other subject will I take it out".

Ray thought he didn't have to do the extraction, exhaled ho, and stood beside Raspade.

"As I wrote in my note, instead of pulling it out with force, I slowly take it off to untie it. At first, it feels like a push, letting magic flow like untangling a tangled thread…"

Raspade nodded and told Lloyd what the question was.

"Interrogate me around who the devil is. What are the Moon Demons and what are the names of those who manipulate them? I don't know how they serve the Wing Demon... see?

Lloyd nods, but Ray sees Kirsty's condition and wonders if it might be dangerous.

"Isn't it dangerous? I changed the question earlier, and suddenly, I suffered. Isn't there something like a safety device?

Raspade shook his neck sideways and said, "Danger is an accessory. If you don't ask this person, you will lose the opportunity to check ahead."

Ray tries to argue, "But..."

"This is necessary. Mr. Arklight! The Devil's information is invaluable! If we lose this opportunity, we will not know the purpose of the demonic invasion! That would make it harder to defend the city!

Ray accidentally wandered over Raspade's sword screen, but argued even more because the life of a woman named Maisie lay at stake.

"Doesn't it have to be now? At least after my magic is restored... if you can use healing magic, you can do something about it..."

Lloyd is nodding at it too, but Raspade didn't give in.

"This is hypothetical, but at the time of the last question earlier, suddenly it was possible that the demon tribe, the operator, had sent the order remotely. If you take too long, it means this subject's life may be in danger."

As Ray muttered, "Then you don't have to ask dangerous questions..." Raspade once again released the words in a strong tone.

"It's the only time! If you miss this, the magic mystery of this puppet, and the mystery of the Demon Clan, will be further away! In the first place, it was no surprise that this subject was murdered by the Demons. It just so happens that he surrendered and was made a puppet, perpetuating his life, and he's the one who's not supposed to be alive! Then there's nothing wrong with risking your life to get information about the Demons!

Ray wasn't convinced, "Then I'll check with Mr. Randall. Mr. Lloyd, check with Mr. Randall," and stand in front of Raspade.

Raspade shook his fist in anger, but poked at the gap Ray was talking to Lloyd and put his hand on Maisie's back.

"Professor! What are you doing!

Lloyd, who was about to leave the room to Ashley's scream, stops. When he saw Raspade, the magic had already leaked out of his hand into light and was sucked into Maisie's back.

Lloyd rushed out of the room.

"We've already started. If you stop here, it could be about the subject's life. Leave it to me!

There was a flame of madness shaking in Raspade's eyes.

Ray notices Ashley screaming, glittering for a moment at Raspade's expression, but soon overlays his left hand in his hand.

"I'll pull it out at once. Because Mr. Maisie's life is more important than interrogation!

Raspade stares at Ray, but Ray continues to infuse him with magic no matter what.

Raspade stops the magic as if to resist, but Ray's magic power was pulling out the magic props.

"What... this was a valuable opportunity to learn the secrets of the Demon Clan..."

Ray ignored the words and was watching Maisie.

"Ash. Find a healer. Because my magic is going to run out."

Ashley walked right out of the room and Lloyd and Randall came in instead.

Raspade starts telling Randall that Ray interfered with the gathering of information.

"Arklight, you've lost your valuable means of gathering information. Now our chances of getting the Devil's Secret have been lost..."

Randall can't swallow the situation and asks Ray what happened with his eyes.

"Dr. Raspade tried to start Mr. Maisie's interrogation on his own. It's dangerous too."

Randall couldn't grasp the circumstances, but he intuited that Ray was right and said, "What do you mean? Professor Raspade?" he asks.

"I wanted to make sure that the magic of the puppet was connected to the magician of the Demon Clan. More importantly, check the information you get from someone named Kirsty. The term Moon Demons, this is the first name of a species we hear. I was going to take a little adventure to get that information... I thought you said the commander would tolerate some danger too?

Randall has a flashy look,

"What I said was against removing the puppet's demonic props. I didn't say you could curtail your life in interrogation."

Raspade shows no interest in Randall's grumpy face and starts talking to himself.

"The information we were supposed to get this time was supposed to be valuable. The purpose of the Demon Nation, the composition of the race, and the mystery of the summons of the Wing Demon… What I found out this time was that there was an archer named Luna, called your son. And that the Demons want that information. That there is a demon clan called the Moon Demon Clan. Arklight, trying to get rid of you... this is no different than knowing nothing!

Raspade takes a glimpse of Kirsty and Maisie before shaking her head gently.

"I can't help being here. I'm going back to work on the demon props."

Ray was angry at Raspade's unselfish behavior.

(How much do you think people's lives are because you want to know! I'm not sure I'll do well with this guy. [M] I thought you were a better person at first... I feel betrayed...)

Randall calls out on Raspade's back trying to leave the room.

"Professor, I won't ask you about this one, but I don't want you to imitate it on your own again. I want you to make sure you get my permission, especially when it comes to people's lives."

When Raspade stops, Randall goes on to say more.

"This is for you. If the lives of the people of the city were to be endangered, something might appear that would harm you. And this time, if Maisie was dead, there was a chance that your people would come at you."

to Randall's words. Raspade does not even look back,

"It doesn't matter what that is. If you can solve the mystery, there is nothing to say about the extent to which you are targeted for your life."

That's all I'm saying, Raspade left the room behind.

"Tell the professor to be cautious for a while or ask him to focus on modifying the magic props. Even if there are further puppet victims, I won't let the professor see me."

Ray understood Randall's mood.

(Dr. Raspade is not under Mr. Randall's command, so he is not in a position to order. If it's true, you want to punish me because you took the liberty of endangering the lives of your fellow adventurers. But that guy knows more about demonic props and demons, and you can't lose that knowledge in the current situation. So I guess I handled that halfway)

Randall has also bowed his head to him to see what Ray is thinking.

"I'm going to understand that the organization needs credit imperatives. But now it's an emergency. I know you're not convinced, but spare me."

Ray panicked,

"Because it's not Mr. Randall's fault. Keep your head up."

As she watched how it went, Stella was thinking about her actions after this.

(The Demons are after Master Ray. I don't mind shaping that too... maybe when this happens a guy named Uno was good about the escort... he said he would put up a trap at the whorehouse, but what was he going to do)

While talking to Randall, Ray was thinking about the information he got.

(At two o'clock yesterday, the information is passed on to the Demons. I know there are wing demons, so by the end of yesterday they should be on their way to Rickadale... the Moon Demons should have been set to be the race at the top of the wing demons. If that's right, you can fly just like the Winged Demons... because Luna is dangerous. However, there is no means to communicate in this world without mobile phones or telecoms...)

And when the word "son” came out, I found that my memory was correct.

(If Luna is the son of the moon, she's still following the story of my novel Trinitas Mundus. That means the Demons invade Periclitle six months later, with the new year... there's just something different about it than my novel. It's me, Ray Arklight. My name was on the demon target. [M] This could be changing the flow of my novel and the flow of this world. If so, swinging by the information in the novel would, on the contrary, put you at your feet…)

Ray then tells Randall that the Demons used Kirsty to try to break the city's defense plan.

"So the Demons are still after this city. When this happens, you'll definitely need Professor Raspade's magic props. If we can't do that, we won't be able to talk publicly about the puppet Kutsuku."

Ray nods at it, but was worried about how to talk about Luna.

(Both Mr. Lloyd and Dr. Raspade were listening. You can't keep your mouth shut. But how do you explain that? I wonder how I can explain what the Son of the Moon means and what the Demons intend to do. At this stage, all I can say is that Luna, the archer the Demons call your son, is being targeted)

"We have other information that we have obtained. An archer named Luna at Mr. Hazel's party is being targeted by the Demons."

Randall tilted his neck,

"Luna? You mean Luna, the survivor of the village of Thysek. Why would that Luna be targeted by the Demons?

"I don't know why. But something strange happened at the time of the previous investigation. So I'm pretty sure they're after me. So I'm going to talk to you, and I'm going to pick her up."

Randall said, "You picked him up? In this situation?" I ask again.

"That's unacceptable," Ray replied, shaking his neck sideways.

Ray still ate down and began to explain why he was going.

"There are two reasons. One, if I go, I can pay you back even if the Wingman strikes. In ordinary magicians and archers, wing demons are overwhelmingly disadvantaged in their opponents. The other thing is, I'm being targeted, too, so if it works, I might be able to defeat the main enemy, the Wingman."

"Are you being targeted too...... as far as I do hear the report, your magic will allow the Wingman to fight enough against you. But try to remember. Even you were dying in the village of Thyssek. If they turn you over to their enemies, they'll put in more power than they did last time."

"I know that. But I have an army of beasts who owe me Light Divinity. With them, you can overwhelm even three times as much as you did last time."

Randall shook his neck wide to the side and groaned, "Even triple as overwhelming..."

"Whatever it takes. That would be a big deal. Even the last member should have had as many arms."

Ray looked back and told Stella to walk behind him, "Let me know your point," he said.

Stella was surprised by the sudden nomination, but soon began to speak calmly.

"Yes. You're absolutely right, Master Ray. Eight people who follow Master Ray's instructions will be far more armed than I am. Excuse me, but the last time a member other than us was in a bunch, you won't even be able to scratch one of them"

"So much skill... I understand that there is no danger and that we can sharpen some of the main forces of our enemies..."

Ray says to the words, "Well, you can allow me," his voice rubs up.

"I can understand, but I can't allow it. The reason is simple. If I lose you now, the defense of the city will collapse. Even if you only suffer injuries, the success rate of that measure will decrease. Therefore, I reject your proposal."

Ray tries to recruit "but......" but Randall was talking it out first.

"As for the raid on Luna, I'm sending a party of veterans who are still here right now. We can't get to Riccardale, but if we can rendezvous in the village on the way, we'll have a good chance of repelling it."

Heard he was sending a valuable veteran party, Ray felt Randall's consideration.

(Even though Mr. Randall doesn't want to rip off his important battle power, he takes care of me and puts it out. I can't make it if I go now... I'm itching to leave it to people, but I can understand that I should stay here)

"Okay. Then I have only one suggestion. I will also send six of the Beast Troops under my command. They don't like to go out in public, so it's in the form of a different unit."

Randall nodded small,

"Then you'd better give me what I gave you permission to do, in the form of a proper order. I'll tell the leader I'm sending, so explain it to him. It's silly to lose your power fighting each other."

Ray nodded at it and, after receiving an order from Randall, left his room behind.

Then, after leaving the building of the Guild General Headquarters, he enters an uninspired alley and calls Uno.

Soon a black shadow descends before him, and a voice hangs, "Will you call me?"

"We would like to send six of Mr. Uno's troops to Rickadale. It's precisely the job of escorting an adventurer party back from Rickadale. Luna, a dark-haired archer woman in particular, is the target of the Demon clan. I want her not to be abducted..."

Ray told Uno that he would defend Luna, and at the same time that the Periclitle adventurer would be dispatched, and asked him to make his way there as soon as possible.

"Roger that. From now on, you should be able to reach the vicinity of Riccadale this evening. If the subject leaves tomorrow morning, we'll make it."

"Can you wear it at night now?

It was already close to noon and I couldn't believe he would put it on at night.

(Eighty km to Rickadale, twice the full marathon. It should be pretty hard just to run. Aren't you trying to force me? I'm worried about Luna, but it's not a good story to sacrifice these people. Because that's what I'm supposed to do...)

"Please don't push me. Protecting Luna is not going to be in exchange for your lives. If you decide it's dangerous, give priority to your own life."

Uno nods small.

Ray gives Randall's order to Uno.

"This is the order of Mr. Randall Ogburn, the Defense Commander. Let me see this when you join them in Riccadale"

"Accepted. However, we are not on the table and intend to protect it from the shadows. I was wondering if I might have a chance to use it."

"Okay. But please don't get in trouble with the adventurers who will be sent."

After an even easier meeting, Uno said he would take command and walked away to disappear.

With anxiety in his chest, Ray left the city to check on the progress of the city's defense plan.
