Lesson 53: Anxiety

morning of December 21st.

At the "Rough Eagle's Nest” pavilion, Ryan was stuck in the healer's hazel, a party leader.

"Why do we have to evacuate to Orton - the fortified city west of Periclitle - at this time! Did you forget that (...) Ray said not to leave this city so much!

Ryan was surprised to hear from Hazel that he was leaving the city and going to Orton, and questioned with some excitement why.

Hazel, in contrast, answers him, remaining as calm as usual.

"From what I've just heard, let's not let the demon scouts come close. That means it's only been a couple of days since this city became a battlefield. Ray said that, didn't he? When this city becomes a battlefield, he says he has to run away while eliminating enemies coming after Luna. And yesterday, they found the puppet Kutsuku. So now's your chance."

Ryan had no words to return to Hazel's explanation. But I instinctively felt it was dangerous to leave this city.

"Then let's say something to Ray before we leave. I have that much time..."

Hazel grinned at Ryan's words, which were badly toothed,

"Of course, I'll call Ray. I'll explain after breakfast."

Ryan heard the words and relieved himself.

(At least if Ray (the guy) listens to this story, he'll tell us what's best. It's a pitiful story, but I can trust him more than I think...)

Then, after breakfast, Hazel told the Ryans to start preparing to leave and head to Alliance headquarters.

Ryan asked fans of the Beastman, a party member, what they think of this departure.

"Something looks like that cautious Mr. Hazel is in a hurry, what do fans think?

"Right. I've been worried about what to do with him lately. I guess the story of yesterday's puppet being spotted and rumors of enemy proximity triggered it. Well, don't worry. That guy is as cautious as he was originally cowardly. And if Ray thinks he's a jerk, he won't give you permission."

Fans tapped Ryan's shoulder lightly to worry, saying, "I know you're worried, but trust your leader," and headed to prepare for his own departure.

Ryan also wanted to go to Luna, a party, to get her opinion, but when he saw her with a contemplative face, he hung up.

8: 00 am.

Hazel is back from Alliance headquarters.

She said, "I got Ray's permission. Because I'm leaving in half an hour," he said and went into his room.

Ryan heard that Ray had given his permission and was concerned that he would be relieved, but would not tell him anything specific.

(I'm curious to say that Ray won't hit anything. At the very least, you should be telling me more escorts and other precautions...)

He had a slight distrust of Hazel, but could do nothing more, waiting for frustration and departure time.

At that time, a figure of Mira, the Inn's general, came into his eyes.

He said, "Mr. Mira. I need you to do me a favor," he called her.

"Will you please give me a message? To Ray, who is at Alliance headquarters," I'm heading to the city of Orton now, but there's no additional escort. I want you to hit me with something. If you're hitting my hand, I want you to tell me that directly ”"

Mira tried to beg in a light-hearted way at first, but was surprised by the serious look on his face he never had.

"Okay. But what's wrong? Didn't Hazel just go?

"Thanks for hooking me up. Sorry. I know I'm busy..."

That's what Ryan says and bows his head to her.

Mira hung the apron on the counter at the front and said, "Okay. 'Cause I'll be there in a minute,' he said, leaving the inn.

Twenty minutes later, Hazel finished prepping and joined Fan, Luna and Ryan.

"Well, we're leaving."

"Will you wait a little longer? I just sent Ray a message to get more escorts. Even after the result..."

"Oh, I already asked for it. He said he'd think of something too, so why don't we rendezvous on the way?

Ryan feels a little uncomfortable on the palate and eats down, "Well, can't we just wait a little longer?"

Hazel kept smiling,

"Orton is fifty kilometers ahead. At night, the pot the enemy thinks. I want to get there before dark. Let's get out of here."

Fan and Luna were prompted by Hazel's voice and headed to the stables.

Ryan reluctantly follows suit. But the expression was full of bitterness.

(How strange. I don't know what's wrong...... Hazel has one thing to say, but leaving without listening to Ray's measures is so hooked......)

8: 30 a.m.

The Ryans left the inn.

Continue west on Main Street and through the West Gate. The streets of Aurelia, leading west from the west gate, had many inhabitants escaping the city. But many of them were on foot or in carriages, with few riders like them.

They pass among the evacuees and advance their horses west.

Having heard Ryan's message, Ray accompanied Stella back to the inn.

And Ray was confused when he heard that the Lunas had left around 8: 30 a.m.

(What happened? I can't believe you're leaving without even contacting me at this time. And I said it was too dangerous just for those four... not if you're thinking about it. We need to hurry up and chase...)

Ray went to the stables and brought out his beloved horse. Stella similarly prepared the horse and even prepared a replacement horse.

Ray called the beast man of the escort and said, "I'm going after Mr. Hazel's party now. I'll fly you with a horse, so don't force it," he said, crossing the horse.

We can't let the horses run on the boulevard that leads to the West Gate, and with all due respect, as we went through the gate, it was already past eleven in the morning.

(I'm already over two hours late. I may not make it if I go now......)

Around that time, the hazels were well west about fifteen km from Periclitle.

And to put the horse to rest, he was taking a small pause by the street.

There were few people on the streets because they outran the evacuees who left Periclitle.

Having finished their break, Hazels once again proceeded to the streets with horses.

Ray was driving a horse lover traveler to chase the Lunas.

Traveller, the famous horse of the frog, was running smoothly down the street but would be caught up in a group of refugees along the way and slow down.

Ray suppresses his impatience and moves west, sending the evacuees.

Stella's horse was quite tired because she had already been running for more than two hours, and she had switched to a replacement horse.

With anxiety in his chest, he slipped through a group of refugees and ran his horse again.

(Do something in time! Nothing has happened so far. There shouldn't be anything further...)

Around 1 p.m. the hazels, who took a break in the village at the midpoint, were once again taking the streets west.

The streets had little attention because they were outrunning the evacuees who left Periclitle today, and even more so because the evacuees who left the middle village today were quite ahead of them.

Ryan felt a bad feeling gushing up.

(Doesn't it suck that there are so many people out there? When Ray says he's going to hit something, there's nobody there... and you haven't got my message? I'm starting to feel like I should turn back...)

About twenty minutes after I left the village, I crossed the small hills many times and the small forests became more prominent around me.

Ryan suggested turning back to Hazel.

"There's no people around, and I don't know the hand Ray hit. Mr. Hazel, shouldn't we turn back to the village just now? Tomorrow morning, I feel like I should be with the evacuees."

To Ryan's suggestion, Hazel looks surprised and then starts laughing.

"Oh, what's wrong? I'm rarely cautious of Ryan. Periclitle doesn't have a puppet, Kukutsu, so the Demons shouldn't know we left. And yet what are you worried about?

And towards Fan and Luna,

"The village just now has no walls, and if it gets attacked at night, it's troublesome. So I want to go to Orton with the walls, even if I can't do it a little bit."

Luna looked at Ryan's anxious face and felt how Hazel was doing differently than usual.

(The morning story was clear, but Mr. Hazel's answer now doesn't answer Ryan's question. Saint (Hijiri) I have not answered about the hand you struck. Did you contact St. John properly in the first place? He's busy, and we were talking about catching enemy scouts last night. It was only about thirty minutes before Mr. Hazel was going to HQ. It's not that different from when you go and come home. Can you catch the busy Saint in that short time and even take care of it? Ryan is starting to seem more right...)

"Mr. Hazel, I agree with Ryan. I think we should hurry back."

When Luna said that, Hazel had a frightened face,

"We'll be there in about four hours. Now we can get into the city before it gets dark. I don't have time to be guzzling around here. Hey, can't you trust me?

Luna couldn't answer the question.

Because Hazel has never made a big mistake before. Of course, there was a crisis of force majeure, as at the time of the investigation of the village of Tisek - the village of Luna's birth - but it was basically so safely taken into account that it was said that it was too cautious. Otherwise, the party with young Luna and Ryan would have suffered enormous damage and would not have been able to remain a current member.

"You don't seem to have an opinion. Then let's go."

Hazel said so brightly, Luna and the others also manipulated the reins and started walking the horses.

Ryan was still unconvinced. But three years ago, when he had just become an adventurer, I couldn't say strongly to Hazel, who accepted me.

(Something's wrong... what am I supposed to do? Mr. Hazel is a benefactor to me. He made me a level six adventurer called Bend by Bend, a young man of my own power. But there's something wrong with Mr. Hazel today. I feel a little different from my usual smile. I have trouble being told what's different, but definitely not...)

Ryan was aware that his own instincts continued to alarm him, but he could not doubt Hazel, the leader and benefactor.
