Trinitas Mundus

Episode 63: The Night Before The Showdown

December 25th.

Ray and Randall visited the Optical Divinity quarters and made Bishop Maggioni Gastaldi promise to ensure that the Holy Knights would participate in the battle.

Gastaldi stops Ray as they both try to go home.

Randall said he was going back ahead and left the room, but as soon as he was gone, Gastaldi's attitude turned into something of a compliment.

And I've confirmed to Ray my prospects for tomorrow with a serious look.

"What are your thoughts on the prospect of tomorrow's battle? Can you be honest with me?"

Ray worried about how to answer, but decided to answer honestly.

"To be honest, that's a pretty bad bet. Of course I'll do my best, but my enemies aren't stupid, and I don't know what's going to happen on the battlefield."

Gastaldi took Ray's hand with a sincere expression, saying, "Take care of yourself,"

"You are in the manifestation (depression) of the God of Light (Lucidus). It is our hope to make the world a savior from the hands of the demons of darkness. This time I command the beasts to obey your life. The truth is, under my authority, I would like to order you to save me even if I am against my life if there is an imminent crisis. But then you can't trust me..."

Ray was more shocked by what Gastaldi said to be the manifestation of God of Light (Lucidus) than by Gastaldi's exquisite words.

(If you take the word honestly now, it means that I will be sacrificed to the Savior of Light God. I don't know when, why, this happened, but I just want you to give me a break from getting drawn to the fanatics. If we survive, if we don't do something about this one, we'll be in trouble...)

"Okay," Ray managed to put into words and left the room to escape.

The remaining gastardi exhales a breath of relief.

(Whatever we do with that one, we have to get him back to Luke, to Paxlumen, the holy capital. In order to do that, you have to order the beasts)

He then assembled the Holy Knights to teach them a lesson against tomorrow's battle.

Paredes had a non-cooperative attitude, saying that authority over combat lay with him. But Gastaldi thrust me that the training itself was not directly related to the fight, reluctantly admitting it.

Gastaldi began his rhetoric in front of a hundred holy knights.

"As I'm sure you've already heard from the Paredes Battalion Commander, the Demon Army will be attacking here in Periclitle around noon tomorrow. The Holy Knight of Our Light Divinity was exalted and won the vanguard. This is the result of the dedication of Lord Paredes, a truly honorable thing"

The miscarriage between Gastaldi and Paredes was a well-known fact, and the Holy Knights could not hide their surprise at the fact that Gastaldi praised Paredes. Paredes was also confused without knowing Gastaldi's intentions.

Gastaldi pretends not to be aware of the situation and continues with further training.

"Lord Paredes proclaimed that the Holy Knight, the elite of our Holy Kingdom, will deal with the most powerful auga of enemies. In front of the adventurers and the inhabitants, they also declared that they would kick out the enemy's main force and show it. It is precisely the praise of the Holy Knight that the Lord Paredes is. It is a great opportunity to inform the world of the power of the Holy Knight, which manifests God's power most clearly"

Paredes had been lifted so far and was desperately tightening his cheeks, which seemed to loosen. But the next word made him open his mouth like no other.

"It is naturally unacceptable to flee from the enemy, because you have declared so magnificently so far. Brilliant, I want you to take over the main force of the enemy. I hear the main force of the enemy is powerful, but no one should seek to evade the battle to the Blessed Holy Knight. If anyone does such an act, it is stained with darkness and a traitor! Such a man will succeed or fail in the name of God. Know also that even if you flee, you will not return to the kingdom of God! No matter how mighty the enemy may be, I ask you to do everything in your power not to denigrate the name of God of Light (Lucidus)."

When Gastaldi finishes his lesson, he speaks to Ranjes Fortunato, deputy captain of the Demonic Crusade in third place - the rank of platoon captain.

"Lord Fortunato, if anyone is frightened, as you have been taught, do not get lost, but succeed. This is the will of God."

Fortunato knelt on one knee and replied, "I will follow your wishes".

Since then, Paredes has protested, but Gastaldi has not addressed it at all,

"I hear your lord has offered to command Ogburn. If we behave differently here, it will be detrimental to all of our churches. We'll know how much."

Gastaldi didn't think Paredes would survive, so he was also starting to have a dignified attitude toward Paredes, whose rank was above him.

Paredes was angry at the attitude, but was anxious to be shut down the path of retreat. Because if the enemy was powerful, he was trying to use his manoeuvre to retreat just by striking in the arrows of light.

However, Gastaldi's instruction made it unacceptable to retreat in that degree of attack.

(Gastaldi! I don't want you to narrow down the range of tactics by just flicking around in a safe place... if the enemy's vanguard is about goblin, there's nothing wrong with it... how much power is it in the world...)

Paredes didn't even grasp the enemy's power to get here. Even the youngest adventurer in Ray's policy knows that fact.

Ray followed Gastaldi's room, chasing Randall with depression. Looks like Randall was going to wait for Ray too, waiting for him in the lobby of the inn.

"Looks like we're done talking. If you don't mind, let me ask you something."

"Looks like he's trying to get me to Luke. Something about the incarnation of God of Light."

Randall looks surprised, but soon reminds me that Ray is a user of light attribute magic, and there is a point to be made.

"That's a disaster," Randall laughs, "but Ray looked seriously disgusted.

In an attempt to change the subject, Ray asked if that was the only way to deal with the Saints. Randall shows off his thoughts.

"To be honest, all I expect from the Holy Knights is not to escape from the beginning. If you attack me with one blow, it doesn't matter if you run away or wipe it out."

Ray said, "Are you saying that a blow is important?" and lean his neck.

"That's right. There is a reason to get the Holy Knight out of the South Gate and around the battlefield. Our main unit will wait at the East Gate, so in the meantime, tell the soldiers that the Holy Knights are bait. That way, there is no upset on your side, because it is as maneuvered whether the Holy Knight flees or wipes out. Besides, the enemy will be on track."

Ray finally understood Randall's thoughts.

The Holy Knight strikes the enemy from the south, that is, from the main unit and from the right, and the enemy reacts to it to annihilate the Holy Knights altogether. The enemy will be forcefully attacked from the East Gate, which is the shortest distance away, because they will defeat the good looking Saint Knight and gain morale.

Even though the Sacred Knight, who has no relationship, sees his allies wiped out, reduces the morale of the adventurers, but if we say it's an operation from the beginning, it's suppressed with minimal influence.

Ray gave a slightly dissatisfied look and said, "It's valid, but it's a spicy hand," Randall only answered with a faceless "Right," with no excuse whatsoever.

Ray understood Randall's mood and immediately returned his expression.

Then, to change the subject, "How much will the main team of your allies fight for the rest," he says to Randall.

"Right. The most important thing is to withdraw well after a battle with the enemy. But even though the Holy Knights have been defeated, this one is too passive and enlightened by the enemy. It's going to be hard to get some salted plums around here."

Ray nodded at it, too,

"The enemy commander, Olvo Kronvar, seems to be a prudent man, so I hope he can draw in a mid-haunted tribe unit that is said to have a lot of blood."

The final check of the operation was then carried out with the captains of each squad.

In the evening, the square in front of the guild gradually begins to bring people together.

By the time the sun had set with the feeling that alcohol barrels and dishes were already ready and starting with the empty ones, they had become quite a number of people.

In addition to Randall, the venue also includes guild captains and captains, who drink with adventurers and prostitutes.

Ray finds Randall and asks, "Aren't you going to give an encouragement speech or something?"

"I'm not doing that today. It's the first day of tomorrow. Let me have a nice drink too."

When I say that and laugh luxuriously, the men around me are also caught laughing out.

Ray felt like he was looking at something strange.

(Tomorrow is the showdown. It's also a winning battle... how much of this can survive, no, it can be wiped out. And yet how can you be so calm...)

All the battles he's been through were suddenly coming. Fort Chulock - a fort east of the Kingdom of Lax - was a pattern in which the battle suddenly began, both when it was attacked by an orga near it and when it fought in the Valley of Millis, taking the lead by the enemy.

As a result, he had little experience in combat, which he knew would come in advance, and he was feeling quite anxious. But I think I'm being seen as a “white warrior," and I'm just being forced to join the story.

(He could die tomorrow. You may not see the morning sun the day after tomorrow. Thinking about that, how can you be so cheerful when you're supposed to be depressed......)

Asking Ashley next door about it, her answer was unexpected.

"Surely it's horrible that anyone dies. But being alone is even scarier. At this hour, a guy like me would already be on the run, but when I'm alone, I think about tomorrow. When that happens, it can only be considered worse. So let's all hang out and drink."

"If Ash was alone, would he be? I don't think so."

face that Ashley is out-of-heart in Ray's words,

"I'm scared of people, too. Even your father would feel terrified in this situation. The only thing I don't feel is my brother Alberic Auger, the deputy to Hamish Markat, the elf."

When Ashley said so, the three, including Stella, laughed out couscous.

The adventurers around him looked relieved and then again sipped the liquor.

The banquet then ended around 8pm with a feeling of natural dissolution.

The Rays back at the inn were in his room.

He prefaced, "Tomorrow morning, we may not have time, so I'll tell him now,"

"The three of us will survive. And let's get back on the road. So I definitely want you to survive."

That's what Ray said, hugging Ashley and even more Stella.

Ashley said in his arms, "You're the most impotent. So if you're alive, we'll be safe," he replied brightly. But her eyes were a little moist and she was afraid of losing him too.

Stella was just nodding small, saying nothing, and feeling his plump.

(I'll definitely try to survive tomorrow. I'm not going to die. I have decided to die in Ray's arms…)
