Trinitas Mundus

Episode 69: The Pericritle Offensive Battle: Part IV

The hour dates back around 11 a.m. on December 26, shortly after the Demon Army entered Periclitle City.

Varma Niska of the Moon Demons lurked about two km east of Periclitle in the woods with Luna, son of the Moon, and fifteen of their escorts, the Great Ghost Warriors, and thirty Oga.

Varma intended to rendezvous after the Demonic Army had finished occupying Pericritle in order to ensure Luna's safety.

The battle, initiated by the assault of the Middle-Ghost tribe, was overwhelmingly dominated by friends in her eyes, too, who did not know the massive battlefield. She wondered if the city would be occupied by the end of the day.

(That's Orvo - General of the Great Ghost Clan, Orvo Kronvar - right? I don't really see it from this position, but it looks like I could get into the city, so I'm going to get word of the occupation in a couple of hours...)

Then about an hour later, smoke rose from Periclitle city, clearly visible to her eyes as well.

(Did you set the city on fire!? You're supposed to get the city intact... did Vaino - the Middle-Ghost General, Vaino Budosco - do something?

But soon I realize that the fire is an enemy trap.

(The fire is going around unusually fast. This is an enemy trap... almost the whole army is entering. Is Orvo okay? I don't think they'll take it away from him only...)

After waiting for another hour or so, caring for the safety of his compatriots, the trees also mixed with the smell of burning at them, and the unpleasant smell of people being burned.

(I'm sure it was the white magician. Still, who the hell is that guy! of our, sokius - the land of the demons - why disturb our grief so much...)

Not only was there upset running on her, but also on the Great Ghost Warriors.

The head of the escort unit, Yesperi Mayuri, on behalf of the warriors, has expressed his solidarity with Varma.

"Dear Varma, didn't your allies fall into enemy traps... shouldn't you be heading to rescue your allies"

Varma takes a sober look and looks up at Yesperi, who is over three meters tall.

"No. You shouldn't be moving now. Besides, Orvo, your generals will eat and break traps of this magnitude. Trust him."

Yesperi gives a moment's expression in her words that she is difficult to convince. But we had to agree with her words about believing in our own generals.

And around 2 pm.

Varma's eyes showed the Great Ghost Troops escaping.

They break through the East Gate and fall into the meadows like they said crawling bodies.

Yesperi and others try to rush off the spot into a crisis of their own, but are strongly reprimanded by Varma.

"Wait! Your mission is to escort your son! Calm down!"

Yesperi stares at Giroli and her, but recalls the task entrusted directly to the venerable Orvo, who took control of his men.

Varma felt the situation was at stake now and spoke with a slight grin.

"I'm going to make sure Orvo's okay. Until then, I need your son's escort here."

And even more, "It's okay. Orvo is a proud warrior of the Great Ghost Clan. I'm sure we're just waiting to rendezvous with our allies over there," he added, rising to the sky in a flickering manner.

Though the remaining Great Ghost Warriors would echo Varma's words, they could not hide their anxiety in the burning city of Periclitle and a situation where there was never any aftermath.

In the meantime, Luna, who is captured as the son of the moon, had secretly found hope that this would enable her to escape. On the other hand, he was also anxious about the situation in a city with fierce flames.

(You made your trap work. Looks like a few of them came out, but they haven't come out any further... but I wonder if the city is okay. If all that burns, the city could be wiped out... I don't think Saint would make such a mistake...)

With her anxiety in her chest, she decided to look forward to an opportunity to escape.

Around the same time, the Great Ghost tribe Olvo Kronvar, along with a handful of warriors under his command and his family Auga, escaped from the burning Periclitle East District, painfully. And Jen royally waited for the sequel to come out.

Nevertheless, he concluded that his allies had never appeared, had been wiped out except for themselves, and had made reckless break-ins into the city centre.

(You can't make a breakthrough in that situation by storming toward the center of the city. There's no way that white magician could have assumed that much. Because most of us have escaped...)

As he expected, there were no signs of follow-up coming out, and the fierce flames never showed any signs of healing.

He got here, and only ourselves and our bellies could escape the city alive.

The only remaining power left to him were the five hundred little ghost tribes and nine hundred goblins placed at each gate - initially a thousand, but fed by an orga, losing a hundred before the war began - plus sixty warriors and a hundred orgs of the Great Ghost tribe who suffered burns all over their bodies.

But he hadn't given up the fight.

Auga's fighting power hits five or six soldiers in general. Even more so, among the Great Ghost Warriors, Orvo's direct reports are elite and have more fighting power than that. In other words, the power of the Great Ghost Nation alone equates to more than a thousand soldiers.

Goblin's fighting power is about half that of the average soldier, but the Little Ghost Warrior is on a level that is not inferior to the average soldier, and if all armies are combined, he will have the equivalent of two thousand trained soldiers.

Moreover, the Periclitle side had also lost its power in the first battle on the plains, which he believed could be fought for more than five minutes.

(Not yet. Still, the eye for reversal remains. The fact that we've set all these traps, on the contrary, shouldn't have afforded to set up other gates. No, there were reports of some suspicious magic formation near each gate, so maybe there's still a trick...)

Orvo suffers burns and consolidates his determination as he looks at his men entering.

(... even if there was a trap, you can't pull it here! Indeed, the recapture of the Son of the Moon, the original purpose, was made. But from here on out, it's about the honor of our ghosts!

I think so hot, Orvo, but there wasn't blood on my head.

(Even if we can occupy the city with this force, we cannot hope to recover enough power to counteract enemy reinforcements. Production of auga (...) takes time. Goblins can increase quickly, but are considerably inferior in power... I regret the loss of the Middle-Ghost and Orcs, but now I can't help it. Now you should only think about stabbing the enemy “white magician” differently. It would be quick to get into the city and hold the residents hostage for that...)

He was thinking about an operation.

Break one of the gates outside the East Gate, using an auga, and enter the city. And occupy a proper painting and take the residents of that district hostage. On top of that, he was going to ask the white sorcerers to give him the white sorcerer if he didn't want his inhabitants slaughtered.

(For a brave ghost tribe, it's a palliative and cowardly hand, but if it's to defeat that dangerous white sorcerer, let's wear any kind of stigma. No, you'll be named as an already incompetent commander. Now......)

Varma came down there.

She looked at the mutilated warriors with burns all over her body and intuited that it was impossible to occupy Periclitle.

Immediately find Orvo, say, "You can do terrible things," and hang the healing magic.

"It's generally predictable what happened, but I was wondering if you could let me think about it, including what's to come"

She confirms her future policy to Olvo with a hard look as she hangs healing magic on the Great Ghost Warrior.

He answers "Defeat the White Mage" and says nothing more.

"Can you take him down? You can withdraw now. Besides, the main purpose of this operation is to rescue your son. It's not a good idea to lose your power here."

Orvo said, "I know!," is unusual for him, usually calm, and absurds his voice.

But he immediately apologized, "I'm sorry,"

"It is also possible to defeat the White Mage with your current power. This battle power has been pitifully reduced, but the enemy's power has also fallen. What's more, there must be no further action for the enemy. Defeat him, narrow him down to this point, and if you risk my life, it will be accomplished."

Varma didn't understand Orvo's thoughts.

"Certainly that magician is dangerous. But what we need to do now is not kill him. Bringing your son safely to Sochius. You know that, don't you? Then..."

Orvo blocked Varma's words,

"I know. But he's beyond imagination. As a matter of fact, I can't do anything like grab victory with this difference in power. If that dangerous man turns to Sochius, not only will he take your son back, but even his country is in danger"

"But a white magician is not a general who serves his country. He's a mercenary. Aren't you overthinking the dangers that far?

"No, even if I think about it, I'll see. That man was reading our operation. The Yang Dynasty in the North, the rescue of the Son of the Moon, the occupation of Pericritle… We broke through the measures prepared by Sochius over the years. An excellent moon demon, its magician, you would know. If we do not defeat them now, we will bring disaster to our countrymen. It's the only time."

Varma looks up at Orvo's face.

There was no rushing color on his face, and it was read from the bottom of his heart that he was worried about the dangers of a white magician.

"Okay. Yesperi and the others are going to borrow it."

Orvo says "Oh" and nods.

"If you know what I mean."

"This includes the will of our ghost tribe. We don't fight to annoy our country."

Orvo was also fascinated by the power of fifteen Great Ghost Warriors and thirty Orga. But he wasn't stupid enough to forget the strategic purpose of this one.

Varma relieves herself of the word, but anxiety prompts the loyal Yesperi and others to believe her words.

"But I wonder if Yesperi and the others will convince me... well, can I have a pen? I need an order for Yesperi."

Orvo nods small and writes an order to the Yesperiz on the paper she puts out of her hips bag. The contents of which were orders to provide full escort for the Son of the Moon, regardless of their life or death.

Varma nods satisfactorily, and then puts it in the bag of her hips again.

She tried to fly off to the woods where the Lunas were, but immediately looked back as if she had come up with something.

"Certainly the white magician is dangerous. But if you think you can't take him down, get out. As per the meeting, I'm going to use the escape route. I'm not going to relax, but I can't move so fast because of your son. So..."

Orvo responded with a sunny look, "Ask for your son," and immediately turned to his surviving men.

Varma realized that he had no intention of returning to his country alive.

(Orvo defeats the white magician, but I don't feel like he's coming back. I don't know why, but from the look on his face, I just think so...)

Varma joined the Yesperi waiting in the woods.

And as it stands, tell them we're headed to the Aquila Mountains.

Yesperi and the Great Ghost Warriors rebel against the word, but show the order deposited from Orvo.

"Orvo's orders. He asked for your son. Don't betray that expectation. Please... he said he would always defeat the White Mage. And when you risk your life for your country. So let's believe him. And the route we use. It's all right. He'll defeat the White Mage and join us. Yeah, I'm sure you'll be fine..."

At the end of the day, he had a tone to say to himself.

To her sincere words, Yesperi and the others also agreed to leave their heavily damaged allies to return to their country.

Luna took a defiant attitude and obstructed movement by the Wingman in order to slow her movement. Sometimes, however, in an emergency, Valma, who continues to revere, also finally restrains her and secures her to a chair like a backpack mounted on the back of a Great Ghost Warrior.

This has allowed Varma's power to go in the air with the Great Ghost tribe, which does not even take the obstacles of the forest as a barrier, to increase its speed at once.

Luna felt a sense of despair spread across her chest as she was rocked by the backs of the Great Ghost Warrior.

(As it is, they are taken to Kwaedam Tenebre - east of the Aquila Mountains, the land of the Demons. That's all I need. But I'm sure Saints and Ryans are coming after me to help. In that case, I would not resent myself so powerless in the land of demons under the control of my enemies... I can't believe I'm powerless enough to live my own life...)
