Trinitas Mundus

Episode 78: The Wound in My Heart

Tria calendar year 325, morning of December 27.

The invasion of Pericritle by the Demons was prevented by the struggle of the adventurers.

The continued tenacious resistance, albeit with many war dead, called for the miracle of reinforcements.

Many seriously injured people took their lives as a result of the healers' work in insomnia. The treatment of the minor wounded was still incomplete, but the city of Pericritle was regaining its brightness with the absence of the severely wounded that would sag the abyss of death.

The bards' ratings were very different from those of a cold-blooded researcher, Sinclair.

At the time, there was one young bard left in Periclitle city.

He, Enias Hartson, while a poet, took a weapon to protect his hometown of Periclitle. Untrained he never stood on the battlefield, but the eyes of his poet watched the battle from above the North Gate, crushed. And about the heroes who defended their beloved city, he leaves behind the naive but also the following poem: Ugh.

……

The black ghosts, like the fire of the plains, ran through the meadows,

The ghost of the giant "Oh", sounds like a faraway thunder in his footsteps.

The arrogant white knights unleash arrows of light,

Let the darkness be uncut.

knights, drunk by the black waves, and rewarded themselves with the

From beside the white warrior, the warrior in black, the Houfu,

Run through the silver stallion and shine like a god of light (Lucidus).

……

He attacked the city with his giant god, his compatriot, Hara,

Burned by the flames that scorch the sky.

Angry gods, bring little ghosts,

Take down the city, or I'll surround the plug.

……

Explore the measures with the warrior in black, the white warrior, and lay formation on the meadow.

The fierce ghost, the stormy momentum, tries to swallow the warrior in black.

……

The Princess of War, Sausage, was stained with Zhu "Aka" in the blood of a ghost,

Slash and tear apart ghosts with the young braves.

To the springing fountain-like ghosts, Princess Zhu also looked up to heaven,

Woohoo, "Oh," cries out to heaven, not being beside him, but thoughtlessly.

……

White warrior, he called the gods, and led the knights,

The weak soldier, standing on his feet, helping him, heads to the battlefield himself.

But the power of the ghosts is still hard to insult.

The knights disappear with the dew of the battlefield one after another.

The fierce ghost, he slashes and rips the battlefield, and waves an axe saying he wants a white military master.

Awaken to their mission, the knights will not be shielded from sacrificing ourselves.

……

He leads the red-armed warrior "Houfu", the mighty "Tsuwa-no", and slashes and rips the little ghosts apart.

Princess Zhu Ji, tears at its appearance, too,

……

A fierce ghost, if you don't bury a white military master, you can wave that huge axe.

God's protection lies with the White Army Master, and the Goddess loses its axe.

……

White warrior, losing his love spear, he finally stuck his blade at the fierce ghost,

The gods don't even get on their knees at last.

God, if you don't let the white warrior take you on the road, stretch out your arms,

Red arms, prevent it under one sword.

……

The wind just blows across the red-stained meadows.

There is no victory over the winner, but only the soul of the slain warrior "Houfu", who dances in heaven.

white warrior, embracing his shoulders with Princess Zhu Ji,

Drop your heads in the souls of the dead.

……

Winds blow in the city of the fierce (Periclitle).

In the red dyed sky, the great eagle arcs.

The soul of the warrior "Houfu" dances in the sky.

As if to love and protect the city...

This poem, later entitled "The Wind of Periclitle," grew in sophistication via several poets. When that pathetic examination echoed in Periclitle's liquor store, it became a beloved poem "Ugh" that everyone heard and was told that the hustle and bustle of the liquor store would disappear like a lie.

December 27th at 8am.

Ray had hit the healing of the seriously wounded at Alliance headquarters, which turned him into a field hospital. He was running out of magic in the middle of the night and taking a nap on a simple sleeping table.

A few hours of sleep did not take away the battle, the treatment and the subsequent fatigue. Still tired, his body seeks rest, but once he wakes up, his head shudders strangely, and he could not give himself up to sleep.

Ashley and Stella were beside him, but they are both still standing asleep because of their fatigue.

(I wonder how many victims... I'm sure more than half of them are dead. A lot of people couldn't get my treatment in time... especially how many of Luke's peasant militias could have survived... if I hadn't forced them to stand on the battlefield I would have been able to get out of this city...)

And it reminds me of Luna, who was grabbed by the demons.

(I wonder where Mr. Tsukiya is now. You have to go after them right away, but you can't abandon the people who got hurt because of me... I don't know what to do...)

As he was driven by self-blame, Hal Ranks, a young mercenary from the Marcut Mercenaries Corps (Red Arms), visited him.

He gave a stout look and said, "I knew it. Mr. Valeria is right," he says, sitting next to the risen Ray.

"Mr. Valeria? About what?

When Ray murmured powerlessly, Hal said in a bright tone, "What, because Ray would be depressed," he said. I'm sure a lot of people die because of me, and I can't sleep, "he says, even whispering, adding," Mr. Ashley, you won't mind, so you inspire me, "and erupts smaller.

"I hear you."

Ashley, who was awake at the sign of Hull, gets up while saying so in a somewhat risky voice.

Hal said to the voice, "I didn't say this. Mr. Valeria rushes to deny..." Ray erupted small enough to be caught in that appearance.

"Ash is taking good care of me... but thanks..."

As a smile returned to Ray's face, the color of relief spread across Stella's face, which was awake just like Ashley's.

"But I do."

That said, Hal started talking with a slightly more serious look.

"To be honest, without Mr. Ray, I think this city would have been wiped out. I'm pretty sure this is because the captain said it was a good idea to protect it."

Ray called the word "no!" and denied in a strong tone,

"Nearly a thousand people are dead. And those who have lost arms and legs..."

Without going through Ray's words willingly, Hal went on to say the facts with a serious look on his face but pale.

"It sure is. But there are tens of thousands of people who survived. The dead guy had no luck. 'Cause you are. No one dies. There is no war. That's why I think."

So Hal hangs up the words.

As Ray was caught, he said, "What?" I shrug without thinking.

"I think survivors have to live happily to the point where they're dead. They wanted to live happily ever after. But that won't happen anymore. Then I don't think the survivors just have to grieve, including their thoughts, but they have to live..."

After I say that, as I tear it up, "I'm not saying this because I want to make a fuss at the celebration," he adds with a grin.

Ray erupted small into the word, "But you make a fuss, don't you?" and slap Hal on the shoulder. And with a serious look, "Thanks. Just a little lighter," he bows his head.

Ashley said, "Thank you, Sister Val. Again, in me......" said Ray mocking herself, "you worried," he held her shoulder. And I told Stella I was watching that on the side, and I said, "You worried about Stella. I'm not the only one sad..." he bowed his head small.

"No, Master Ray says it's the hardest... I can't do anything..."

When Stella says so, Hal, who felt a damp atmosphere, makes a deliberate vertigo. And he sighed loudly, "Corner, I encouraged you, but you don't have to guess!," he pointed his mouth.

But I made it right away. I broke my temple.

"Mr. Ray, Mr. Ashley, Mr. Stella. If that's all you have, come to the Red Arms quarters. The captains are worried."

That's what I said, I left before the three of them.

"Apparently, it worried everyone. I'll have to show my face later. I'll see who got hurt before then."

That's what Ray said, he got up slowly.

Around the same time, Hulbert user Ryan, who was at the same party as Luna, was lying in a room at Alliance headquarters. He was wounded in a battle on the meadow and was brought into the hospital room.

He was bought that strength and stood on the battlefield as a young but still part of Randall's elite unit. But he suffered the pain of a Great Ghost Warrior on his chest in a battle of war, and suffered a great injury breaking his ribs.

Fortunately, there was little damage to the gut and the healer's healing magic had almost healed the body. However, the damage done to the spirit "so far" had not recovered at all.

(They took Luna away from me without listening to Ray (the one)... that's not all, I just pulled my leg in the fight. I thought I could do more but I couldn't do anything...... after all, what was I doing? I can only wield Hulbert... but if the injury has healed, I have to go after Luna right away. But my body doesn't move...)

He was totally losing confidence. Originally an optimistic bright personality, now its brightness also lurks shadows, staring at the ceiling with fallen eyes.

The shock of being deprived of Luna before the battle was enormous. But out of natural simplicity, I was unfounded and optimistic that I could still take Luna back. Even though he had a lower level of twenty-three magicians, he was going to crush his enemies and follow Luna with the same momentum.

But that confidence was crushed at the beginning of the battle. Unlike the simple auga of movement, there were no hands or feet for the Great Ghost Warriors. Eventually, he was forced to leave the front without causing damage to the enemy. For this reason, the natural brightness and optimistic thinking had disappeared.

One woman approached Ryan, who was lying on the sleeping table and in mourning.

It was Hazel, the leader of the party he was at, the healer.

She stood on the front line as a temporary commander of Luke's peasant militias, brilliantly taking command of the immature soldiers. If she hadn't taken command, the peasant militias would have collapsed the front early in the war. But she herself believed that the immaturity of her command had caused many peasant militias to lose their lives.

Now, not as a peasant militia commander, but as one of the healers, he was in the process of treating the wounded, but with less magic and fewer wounded in urgent need, I heard that Ryan was injured and came to visit him.

"How's the injury? I heard your gut looks okay?

I hear a nostalgic voice, and Ryan turns to Hazel.

"... Mr. Hazel was safe... you have little pain. The body..."

Hazel nodded at it and said, "Yes... that's good," sitting beside his sleeping table.

And he said small, "My fan's dead. Did you know?," he muttered.

Ryan opens his eyes wide to the words and is shocked by the death of his fan, the swordsman of the Beast, who was a member of the same party.

"A fan... should have been in the scouting unit, right? He said it was positive..."

"Yeah, he said he was stirring up behind the enemy, but at the end of the day, he was surrounded by little ghost squads. At that time..."

Hazel leans down and whimpers sobbing.

"Luna was grabbed and the fans died... all the peasant militias died because I was not worthy... because of me..."

Hazel was just as heartbroken as Ryan was.

Ryan didn't know how to speak to her.

"What will Mr. Hazel do now? Can you continue to be an adventurer?

In his words Hazel shakes his neck small and sideways.

"I'm retiring. Pericritle (here) also leaves. Because there are so many memories here... I guess I'll start in a treatment center somewhere in a small city... what do you do, Ryan?

Ryan is confused as to how to answer the question.

"I... what am I supposed to do... I want Luna back. But I can't do it. With as much power as Ray... what should I do..."

Hazel was unable to answer the question. The hospital room with the two of them is surrounded by silence.

After a few seconds of silence, the face I saw appeared before him as Ryan tried to start talking to Hazel.

That was Ray with Ashley and Stella.

"Are you okay? I heard you've been attacked by the Great Ghost Clan... aren't you tired too, Mr. Hazel? I heard you've been treating me all night."

That's what Ray said to the two of them.

Ryan has a subtle look and all he can do is whine, "Injury's no big deal," he said. Hazel also said, "It's okay. Besides, you're the same," he replied.

Ray realized something was wrong with the two of them, but he didn't know exactly what to do.

Ashley, who had extensive experience on the battlefield, had realized that the two of them were losing confidence and were about to break their hearts.

Ashley told Hazel, "I hear you protected Ray to the end. Thanks," he bows his head.

Hazel said, "I couldn't do anything. I just followed everyone," gives me a bittersweet, distorted look.

"You led that peasant soldier and you fought all the way to the end, didn't you? Even I, who was on the left wing, was ready to die. Even though I was young, I had trained men. On the right wing, which was the most heavily fought, it did not annihilate all those peasant militias further. Without you, Ray might not have survived. No, it's possible the whole army was even collapsing. This is what Lord Randall said."

Unusual for Ashley, he told her that at once so that she could roll it up.

Hazel mutters to the word "yes......" but said nothing more. Ashley just didn't miss the slightly soothing look on her face.

"I'm not asking you to be confident. But you saved the lives of nearly half of the peasant militia in that painful battle. See them later. You haven't been there yet, have you?

Hazel lays face down as soon as he says, "I... even if I go..."

Ray said to the figure, "I think those people appreciate it," and then started talking quietly.

"I ordered them to stand on the battlefield. After finding out how impotent it is for me. Sure, it's exactly Mr. Randall's orders, but if I hadn't told you, I don't think Mr. Randall would have used those people. So it's not strange to say that I put you on the battlefield..."

Ray cut the words there and continued the words with a sad looking look.

"... but those people even say thank you to me like that. I just hung the healing magic... I'm the cause of the injury. I can't help being abusive... but you still say” thank you ”. And I was worried about Mr. Hazel. I'm treating everyone without sleeping, but I was wondering if you're okay."

To the words, "Why, no..." Hazel cried down.

Ashley let Hazel stand and said, "Let him rest a little" and left the room.

"It's about me, it's useless..."

From behind Ray dropping off Ashley, I heard Ryan mocking himself.

"Mr. Hazel, Mr. Ashley, and Stella, they worked hard to the end. You're amazing, Ray. Without you, this city would have been gone... in exchange, I... couldn't have done anything. No, you have betrayed the expectations of everyone who bought my power..."

Stella rebels before Ray says anything.

"You always are, aren't you? It's all about me...... you have no idea how hurt Master Ray is? Nearly a thousand people died because of you..."

Ray placed his hand on Stella's shoulder and said, "Thank you. But it's good enough," she blocked her words.

"Wouldn't there have been a better way? I still think so. Because I didn't think so many people would die. But I'm alive. So I think I have to live to the minute of the dead. So I'm going to do everything I can to do what I have to do now"

And looking at Ryan from the front, he said, "What are you going to do now?," he asked.

Ryan lays his eyes down again on Ray's words.

(Did I end up thinking only about myself... you sure do. I just have to do what I can. What I can do...... do what I have to do. Go help Luna. To this end……)

Ryan opened his mouth as if he had decided to.

"I'll get Luna out. I'm going after them now. But I'm retarded. Tell me what to do best!

That's what he said and bowed his head deeply.

Ray faces Ryan for his unexpected behavior, but immediately lays his hands on his shoulder,

"I'm going after Luna, too. But we can't just follow their trail. Because the other side is faster in the woods..."

Ray summarizes his thoughts as he talks.

(The Great Ghost and the Auga, plus the Winged Demons, should travel faster in the woods. What's in our favor is Fort Toa - a fort on the border of the Kingdom of Kaum - where we can use the streets as close as possible. With horses, the speed of travel is faster this way. From here to Fort Toa is approximately 400 km in a straight line. The enemy has Luna, so the distance you can travel in a day is often twenty km. Because it takes twenty days. This one goes along the street, so it's five hundred km to Toa. If we can travel 50 km a day, we can get there in 10 days. After that, even thinking about entering the mountain, you should be able to get ahead of it for about a few days......)

He slowly explains his thoughts to Ryan. In the meantime Ashley was also back and listening.

"... I know roughly the way out the Demons use it. If you use the captive little ghost tribe for directions, you can probably get ahead of it. The question is to what extent the enemy has the power. Even if we can get ahead of ourselves, it doesn't make sense if we're broken..."

Ashley was relieved by his appearance speaking vividly.

(Seems to be feeling much better. But when it comes to chasing Luna, what are you going to do with your power? Fathers are the toughest option, but the Marcut Mercenary Corps also has a long-term escort. Special to the Demon Crusade this time, I wish I could use that...)

Ashley remembers her concerns, but when it came to watering Ray and Ryan, who had hit and changed from earlier and had a bright look, she didn't put it in her mouth.

Ryan was finding hope in Ray's story.

(That's Ray. I can help Luna with this. I can help!

"When are we leaving? You should leave right away, though, right?

"Right. That's true, but as I said earlier, the question is where to source how much power. It would be best if Mr. Hamish could help..."

"Aren't the Red Arms going to help? You're Mr. Ashley's father, aren't you? I'm talking about not so many demons who fled to it. So, with the Red Arms, is that enough?

Ryan stuffs to Ray so he can stand up. Ray smiled somewhat bitterly,

"Mercenaries have contracts. Especially famous places like the Marcut Mercenaries, they often have big mouth contracts. Isn't that right, Ash?

"Right," Ashley nodded,

"In our case, there must be definitely more than one contract. But now there are special provisions for the Demonic Crusade. If you ask your father, he'll figure it out."

Ryan said to the words, "Okay!," he punches his right-hand fist into his left palm.

"Then we'll go talk to Mr. Hamish later. I'm still treating the injured, so I'll pick you up when I'm done."

That said, Ray took Ashley and Stella and left the room.

Ryan, who was left behind, slowly rose and began to prepare to leave the hospital room. There was a power back in his eyes that had never existed before.
