Trinitas Mundus

Episode Four: Aquila Mountain

Tria Calendar 326, January 8.

The Rays Demon Pursuit had been forced to stop by an unstoppable snowstorm.

Around that time, the convoy of the Son of the Moon, led by Varma Niska of the Moon Demon Nation and Yesperi Mayuri of the Great Ghost Nation, had proceeded to a position of about 200 km to the way out of the Aquila Mountains.

The sun had already fallen, and the camp was taking place, but there was only one wing demon around Varma, and there was no appearance of the five harpies and one wing demon.

January 3, five days ago.

Varma thought of replenishing supplies in a pioneering village close to the foot of the Aquila Mountains for Luna, son of the Moon. For this reason, he took the whole wing demon and the five harpies and headed for reconnaissance himself.

I was never alarmed.

But her gesture was annihilated by the Pioneering Village vigilante and she was only able to escape with her own body.

(How could I be so prepared in such a neighborhood... now my only gesture is the Wing Demon Damn. I can't even go back to reconnaissance...)

Not only had she failed to replenish her supplies, but she had lost most of her gestures, so she was dying to lose confidence. Worse still, the temperature had dropped sharply since the beginning of the year, and Luna had fallen ill many times, which was under her labor.

(I'm worried about your child's health. I have managed to bring it about with healing magic, but I can't force it any more. No, it's not weird whenever I break my body...)

The concern soon became a reality.

Luna was seriously ill and unable to even stand because of the loss of conscience, the cold, and the biased diet - only meat of demons acquired by the Great Ghost Clan on a very small amount of grain. And the healing magic of Varma, the outline of a favor, will not even work.

afternoon of January 7th.

Varma is forced to abandon his journey.

I was thinking about what I would do with this situation while instructing Yesperi to find a place that would serve as a refuge, such as a cave.

(The fever doesn't go down. Besides, I barely eat it... I will definitely lose your child as it is...)

Varma was in a hurry and figured out how to get food and clothing for Luna.

(There is no pioneering village around here. Nearest, an accomodation town on Ars Street. I don't know exactly the distance, but there must be about fifty kilometers. Me and the Wingman can make it back and forth in a few hours. If we head over now, we can come back before the date changes. But I leave your child alone...)

Though I feel a little anxiety about keeping Luna, a woman, in this situation with the Great Ghost Clan just for men, it took a decision to open things up. She made a bitter decision.

(I can't help but worry. We need to get food and cold clothes for your child at all costs......)

Shortly before sunset, we manage to find a cave that will be a refuge. Varma entrusted Luna to Yesperi, accompanied by the only remaining wing demon, flying west from the forest in the hemline of Aquila where the snow glistened.

After 9 p.m., Varma finds a small city on Ars Street.

Wooden walls were strewn around the city, illuminated with many lighted demonic props to guard the surroundings.

(It's not that big of a city. This will sneak in well. Food and things to wear... that looks good there...)

She glanced at a house from over an unknown lodging town. Just as a housewife-like woman came out the back door, Varma decided to put the woman to sleep and take away her food and clothes.

Varma drives through the wings of the pitch-black, landing without sound as if in the darkness.

When she came out of the house, in her mid-forties, the woman went to the warehouse in the backyard without noticing Varma. Varma began to cast a spell quietly.

"Night and peace, God of darkness (Noctis). Give me a mist of peace, a cloud of sleep. I will not give you the power of my life at that price. Sleep in peace with my enemies. Sleep Cloud"

The entity of the black foggy cloud of sleep (Sleep Cloud) is almost invisible in the dark, but slowly and surely looms behind the housewife. When the black fog wrapped around the housewife, it did not give her time to feel uncomfortable and deprived her of consciousness.

(It worked. Do you need anything later...)

Varma alerts the wing demon to his surroundings, and he finds his way through the storage. Was it a relatively wealthy house or succeed in getting food? But the other cold clothes I need are not in storage, and I have no choice but to go inside the house.

Has the family already fallen asleep or was everything turned off except the kitchen lighting magic fixtures?

(It's a hassle to find out we're here, so you should just take what you need and run away...)

He traveled about fifty km from the streets, but he didn't want to leave as much trace as he could beyond knowing how the enemy was moving. She sat the sleeping housewife in a chair in the kitchen and took the cold clothes for the man who was in the living room. I found a storage box with more spare clothes in it, and I wore a few wool clothes and got them.

(Not bad quality. I'm fine with this. After that, make it look like theft...)

Varma remembers the money in her eyes and performs the same fine work as she did in the colours, such as opening the door of the cupboard.

At that time, we find a medicine box with the herbs in it, and we take away the contents. Finish the work in minutes with little noise.

She smiles bitterly as she mocks herself for her coso-muddy deeds.

(This I, the proud Moon Demon... No, this is all for our sorrow, to bring your son to the capital, to Luberna...)

When she told herself so, she quietly left the place.

Then, to rendezvous with Yesperi and others, he rose to the midwinter sky, where the snow danced.

Varma remembered her impatience about Luna, but she didn't force it. In about three hours he returned to the cave protected by Yesperi and others. The cave is small about a few meters deep, narrow for the big big big ghost tribe to enter, but for that matter, it blocks the cold wind.

Luckily, Luna's condition maintains a state of well-being, and Varma exhales a breath of relief.

(Good for you. I got the pills, and the food... maybe I should stay here for two days. There are no villages around here, and no adventurers come in at this time of year. They may get ahead of you, but you can think about that later......)

Due to Varma's dedicated nursing, Luna's condition turns to pleasure.

Originally caused by fatigue and mental depression, the young Luna begins to recover quickly, despite the harsh situation, due to adequate rest and a nutritious diet. The healing magic, which worked little with the recovery of his health, also began to represent an effect, and by the next day he recovered by the time he could get up.

Still, Varma decided to take two days off without being forced.

Then, on the morning of January 10, when the weather recovered slightly, he confirmed that Luna's health had returned to a satisfactory point and resumed his journey.

From the snowy weather to the day before, we travel through the forest at the foot of the Aquila Mountains, spearheading the Yesperi and other Great Ghost Warriors as the sun widens, albeit thin.

The weather that had afflicted them until then gradually recovered. But for them, the weather recovery wasn't always a good thing.

The hungry demons came upon them in a row.

Usually, if you have an Auga that is a third-degree monster, most monsters don't feel like they're in danger. However, due to the weather irregularities of the past few days, many demons were hungry, large flying demons such as Fei Long "Wyburn" and the Winged Lion "Griffon" peered into the gap from above, and rock giant bugs "Rockworm" and the Grounddragon "Landdragon" were ambushing in the rocks.

Yesperi, a brilliant warrior, masterfully directs the warrior under his command, his family, to eliminate those powerful demons. However, as he proceeded to the depths of Aquila, he drained some of his power.

On January 12th, two warriors and five orgasms were lost and many more were wounded. Yesperi, who had followed Varma's policy so far in silence, considered the danger too great for any longer and proposed a change of route.

"I can't reach Leriche like this. I thought we should get away from the mountains a little bit now."

At that time, Varma and the others were about a hundred km north of Barbezi, the city of northern Kaum kingdom. From there it's the shortest distance to the base Leriche on the way out if you head straight east. And it was also sufficiently far from Toa Street connecting Barbezy to Fort Toa, and it was supposed to be the perfect route to prevent discovery from the enemy.

In fact, this route was also used at the time of the invasion, when even though it was a large army, it was never discovered by the enemy.

Varma thought a little and said, "... right. Let's go a little further south," I agree.

But inside, I was feeling anxious.

(Fortunately, there are no Winged Lion (Griffon) or Fei Long (Wyburn) squads in Kaum. But you should be on the lookout for nearby streets… Exactly 10 km from Toa Street, there's no pioneering village, but you're more likely to encounter demon-hunting adventurers at once. If you find it here, you can come out of Toa's fort... when it does...)

Varma hid her anxiety and intensified her perimeter vigilance in the guise of tranquillity.

Time goes back two days.

Tria 3026, early morning of January 10.

The Rays Demon Pursuit was about to leave Fort Toa.

Since January 8th, the blizzard is finally in a state of well-being, aiming for the devil's way out about 10 km north of Fort Toa.

Though in a state of well-being, the harsh cold Aquila Mountains were a place not to be alarmed just to travel. The two hundred mercenaries harden themselves into rigorous cold gear and carry backpacks filled with food and equipment. We were unable to accompany the heavy forces in order to travel through the steep mountains, and we had to carry them all ourselves.

It was envisaged that it would be a mountain battle in the harsh winter from the time of Periclitle's departure. However, the mercenaries close to the gathering could not have received such special training, nor did they have time to train.

It is a mountain without maps and ridges and valleys hinder the way to many times. Each time, their morale slowly declined as they bypassed.

For this reason, less than a few hours after departure, the defectors begin to emerge.

Ray, who was a general high school student in Japan and an Indochist, naturally has no experience climbing winter mountains. But Ray Arklight's stubborn body did not have a tough winter mountain march.

Ray was anxious about situations that required frequent breaks.

(I wanted to get to the way out by the end of the day...... is it hard to go a km an hour with all these tough conditions......)

Ashley speaks up to Ray, who is showing a rushed look.

"Don't rush. That's all the snow blew. No matter how big a ghost tribe, you can't travel as planned. Think about maintaining your allies' health more than that."

Ray nods bitterly at Ashley's words.

"I know. I don't know what's going on over there, so I'm really in a hurry. Well, even if I'm in a hurry, Mr. Hamish and I both know very well, so I'm sure I won't be forced to."

Hamish Markat, head of the Mercenary Corps of Markat (Red Arms), looked like a veteran mercenary and never forced him to.

I knew from the outset that the other mercenaries, adventurers, participating in the pursuit squad were inferior in skill and strength compared to the Red Arms who built themselves up, and above all fully understood that they were unfamiliar with strict discipline.

For this reason, for Hamish, which imposes strict discipline, only very loose discipline is imposed. Still, dissatisfaction was beginning to rise among the mercenaries.

The 10th was not far enough to reach a single target point of 10 km north and could only travel 5 km. Hamish was bitter about the sweetness of his own plan.

(Though we needed to hurry, it still seemed impossible. In the mountains without maps, it is also in the mountains of Aquila, famous for its ruggedness. Today's journey is about five kilometers long, but there must be three times that distance walked. The Red Arms (us) alone can handle it, but the others will be gone for three days...)

January 11th the following day.

That evening, Ray confirmed that he was near the way out by the Little Ghost Warriors, Darvé and Lauri, who made him the puppet "Kutsuku".

In the course of that day, Uno and the others of the Beast Troops go to reconnaissance and discover the loopholes used by the Demons.

Moreover, on the twelfth day of the following day, Hamish ordered him to find a suitable place for the camp.

And he chose Yamakake, a shady mountain that could block strong winds, as his campsite.

In the meantime, with Uno and Stella, the Rays scout the area. No traces of the Great Ghosts passing through the snow-burned escape were found.

Ray reassures himself that he has made it.

(Apparently we made it. How long will we wait here after, but it should come as early as a couple of days......)

But his predictions will be betrayed.

For twelve to three days, the weather recovered and reconnaissance was carried out many times, but the Great Ghosts did not show up.

In the meantime, the pursuit team continued to be under threat.

Oddly enough, just like the Varmas, they continued to be attacked by hungry demons.

Frost giants (Frost Giants), not only flying dragons Wyburn and winged lions Griffon, but also dozens of snow wolves, about ten meters tall, strike them one after the other.

Ray's magic plays a powerful role against demons that strike from the air, and he succeeds in repelling them, but has several victims against snow wolves that strike in numbers.

Fortunately, the Frost Giant (Frost Giant) was hooked on Uno and other sentinels, so Hamish and other Red Arms elites were knocking him down without causing any casualties.

Though the weather has recovered, their strength and qi soon came to a bottom because of the low temperatures that ice tends to stretch even in the tent at night.

January 15th morning.

Dusty Cobet, a mercenary who brings together mercenaries other than the Red Arms, visits Hamish's tent.

Dusty opens his mouth best and says, "That's the limit," and opens the distillery liquor in the small jar.

The captains of Hamish and the Red Arms quickly realized what was the limit to that word that had been left out of the subject.

Dusty put the liquor in his mouth again,

"Once we pull it up, we have to pull it up."

Hamish, in consultation with the captains, decided to return the mercenaries, the hundreds of adventurers, other than the Marcut Mercenaries, to Fort Toa in the name of supplies.

Hamish smiles at the captains for a disgruntled look.

"We'll be the only ones for a few days until we get back. We need supplies. You just have to cut it off."

Gareth Ayling, captain of the most squad, snorted at Hamish's words, but did not break his disgruntled look at his impudent allies.

"If you want to raise your roots to this extent, you just have to raise your hands from the beginning!

In contrast, his deputy, Alberic Auger, forgives him in a floating manner of speaking, as usual.

"You knew that from the beginning. We were going to do it alone, so we just need to think of it as a heavy squad."

Dusty laughs bitterly at the word heavy squad.

"Well, you know what? I think you've followed me this far a lot. No way, it even came out to a big guy like the top class fog giant (Frost Giant). It's not weird if you're bluffing."

And the next day, January 16th.

Half the pursuit team went back to the fort.
