Trinitas Mundus

Episode XVI: Luna's Determination

Tria Calendar 3026, January 26.

When the Rays entered the wilderness of despair, Luna was taken by Varma Niska, the Moon Demon Spellman, all the way to Luberna, the capital of Sokius, the demon nation.

The carriage and warm clothes obtained in the village of Leriche were comfortable enough to advance through the harsh cold. It has been four days since I left Leriche, but the camp is only done once. Furthermore, the camp also uses a campsite set up along the street - a square with a cooking area where you can prepare your meals - and after being fed a warm meal, it was a luxurious carriage sleep and never trembled in the cold like when they were taking Aquila Forest.

Luna was remembering the welcome in the village she stopped by on the way.

(I really treated you like a god. There were more people than I thought, but still this treatment... means they're descendants of people who have fled the west, but I wonder if it's the influence of religion or education. Varma won't even tell me the story around here...)

Until the village of Leriche, streets were maintained as military roads, and villages were created by the way as relay points. Initially reluctant for ghosts who were not active in pioneering to leave the city in the east, there was no medium development going on, but those who had fled the west and the Beasts did not want to live in the city of ghosts with a strong electorate consciousness, so they were actively involved in the development of the boarding towns, and the villages at relay points were gradually developed. As a result, in the pioneering village on the eastern side of the village of Lelice, there is a large proportion of people and beasts.

The people and the beasts, but they had pledged allegiance to a country called Sochius that accepted them, and many had longed for the Moon Demons in their guiding position. This is also the fruit of the propaganda carried out by the demons - the Moon Demons, the Winged Demons and other generic names of the Winged Demons - along with their apparent beauty. Not only that, but unlike the ghost tribes, they had extremely few opportunities to come into contact with those who had fled the west, and for that reason, they had never felt uncomfortable.

Apart from the people and the beasts, the ghosts in the lodging town enthusiastically welcomed the Son of the Moon. They are those who believe in the ideals of Sochius - the idea that those who have fled the west are united to build a nation, equal in whatever race - and pledge their absolute loyalty to the Son of the Moon, the rebirth of the Dark God (Noctis), who was said to emerge sooner or later, from the Ghost Race Centre, which repeats the struggle for power.

While Luna was pioneering herself with an excessively enthusiastic welcome, she kept smiling about the future.

(Saint Hijiri, you said so desperately that you should never let the ritual that used me. To do so, we need to alert the "enemy"...... now we play a little girl who is impressed by the enthusiastic welcome of the residents......)

And when you think about what you are used for, cold things flow through your spine and your mind bubbles.

(... what ritual sacrifice are you going to make of me? I have a gift for dark attribute magic. If that's just potential too, it's more than me. 'Cause that guy said. So you're going to turn the Dark Demon into a "vessel” to summon? I don't think there's anything like "nursery beds” for ghosts to do... more rituals... but all I can think of is “divine descent”. I can feel that nuance from Varma's words as well... because of the dependence on invoking the Dark God (Noctis) into this world...)

Think that far. I get dizzy at the size of too much scale.

(I can't believe God... I didn't believe in him at all when I was in Japan...)

And I remember a few years ago.

(With that said, I feel like that guy said there is a god in this world. I thought I was just being faithful, but I mean I'm really here... but I wonder if you can counteract what an amazing presence God is to me... yeah, maybe he knew this would happen when I remember now. Because he was trying to tell me a lot...)

It reminds me of the old days and makes me almost cry zero.

(I want to see you... I want you to hold my hand and encourage me. Like old times......)

Luna scolds her mind, which is about to sink in.

(I'm the one who refused to be with that guy. I was a child then. No, I'm still a child. I haven't grown at all, but this time I have to do something about it myself. So I can't frustrate you now. Saint must be working hard to help me out. So I just have to do it too!

When he renewed his determination, he spoke to Varma Niska, the Moon Demon spell man beside him.

"What kind of town could it have been? I remember hearing it was a big town."

"It's a town called Kufili," Varma replies in a bright voice. She is delighted that Luna, the son of the moon, shows a friendly attitude, with fewer harsh expressions like she showed in the Aquila Forest. Of course, sometimes we are in a safe land of Sochius, but it is significant that Luna, who was stubborn, became cooperative and had less hard work.

"I'm glad you're as welcome as you've ever been. 'Cause I had a pretty bad feeling about Leriche."

I bow my head with the look of Varma's sorry for the words.

Luna began speaking without waiting for Varma's words of apology.

"I still think I've been abducted"

"I don't mean to..."

Varma desperately tries to recruit, but Luna blocks it and keeps talking.

"No, the facts cannot be bent. My shield threatened my people's lives."

Luna looks into Varma's eyes and goes on.

"But after coming to Sochius, I changed my mind a little bit."

Varma said in unexpected words, "Have you changed your mind?" and a surprised look on his face.

Luna nods, "Yeah."

"There are many more who need me. Those are normal people just like me, not criminals, not radical thoughts. I don't know what it's worth to me, but I'm beginning to wonder if I should respond if those ordinary people need me."

Varma opens her eyes to Luna's change of heart, and lowers her head to lie flat.

"I was concerned that I had taken your child in an unintentional way. I didn't know you would think of it that way… I, Valma Niska, pledge my eternal loyalty to your son. Please accept my loyalty."

Luna was surprised by Varma, who overreacted, but tried not to put it on her expression.

Luna was remembering the words of an adventurer who rescued herself from the village of Thysek.

(This is what he said. “Remember the hardest time I've ever had. If it's not harder than that, it's not the worst yet. That's when you can unexpectedly see a way to live." Surely the situation is not the worst in your life right now. My worst was when I was hiding in the village of Thysek. My family and everyone I knew were killed. I was alone, and until that guy showed up, no one was there to help me. Compared to that time, I know someone who tried to help me. If you're going to scratch to the critical point and still be sacrificed, then you just have to kill yourself... now you should be a little bit more powerful...)

I uttered the readiness.

"You can't just take it yet. The general public seems to need me, but if some Sokius don't necessarily need me... you don't need to decorate the words. There are people who try to use me, thinking I'm in the way. I am not willing to be used for those people! If you still think ghosts are just going to use me in the future, I will kill myself! I couldn't do it before, but it's something I still don't think I can do!

Varma of war is pressured by the power of Luna. But I didn't get any unpleasant emotions. On the contrary, I even thought I was happy that my consciousness as the son of the moon had begun to emerge.

Luna hadn't noticed, but there were dark spirits gathering around her, releasing a very strong force. Because her heart changed and the Spirit began to react.

Varma lowers her head deeply.

(Surely your son is loved by the Spirit of Darkness. No one has ever felt more powerful than Ellis...)

Varma felt that Luna's power was more than Elise Nortia, a substantial leader of the Demonic Clan, the Moon Witch (...). In fact, there were spirits flying around in her eyes that could see the spirits of darkness as if to bless them.

Even though you are a foolish ghost tribe, I will not allow you to insult your son. This Varma Niska, I won't let that happen in lieu of my life. "

Luna stared cold sweating at Varma, who said so and bowed her head deeply.

(This man is a high level sorcerer. It is also a master of dark attribute magic that can manipulate the spirit. If you can do something that reads my mind...... my only hope is that dark attribute magic is hard for me to work with. I thought you said the Dark Spirit would refuse even if you tried to hang malicious dark attribute magic against me...)

Dark attribute magic is less of a magician to use, and I have never bathed in its benefits before.

(Now that I think about it, I should have done some magic training more seriously... that guy tried to make me wear it somehow, but in the end, I could only feel the magic... but not if I'm saying that now. Fortunately, this man believes in me. Maybe you can learn magic from this guy...)

The adventurer who rescued her was a genius magician who could use all her attributes. I taught Luna dark attribute magic, but I wasn't sure if it was because she didn't have a good impression of her own dark attribute, or another factor, but Luna's heart refused dark attribute magic, and in the end, she couldn't learn magic. However, he had basic knowledge and was taught that he could acquire it if psychological barriers were eliminated.

"I have one favor to ask you."

Varma looks up and immediately answers, "What is it?"

"I don't really know what my role is, but that doesn't seem to tell me..."

So when I cut the words, Varma seemed sorry and said, "It hits contraindication, so from my mouth…". Luna ignored it and grinned,

"I know. That's why I want you to teach me magic. Although I don't know what the Son of the Moon is like, it should at least have something to do with the Dark God (Noctis). If so, I can use the magic of dark attributes, too, right? Not really?

Varma was heartily anxious to be told the impossible, but she gives a joyful look at Luna's coming out of consciousness as the son of the moon.

"Of course it is. Originally, your child needed to know the power of the Spirit of Darkness, so there are no problems at all."

Varma is a brilliant talent as a spellman and even a puppeteer, but there was neglect in people's machines. He was in a high sequence position among the Moon Demons, and had a strong sense that it was normal to be worshipped from the inferior, and, conversely, obeyed the witch of the Moon, the superior, without defying how to be cursed. This is a clan of priests whose Moon Demons preside over the temple of the Dark God (Noctis), in order to honor order, but the tradition that the Moon Demons have an unusually low birth rate compared to other races and avoid useless strife within their peers also had a lot to do with it.

For this reason, I had little doubt about Luna, the “superior".

Varma uses time on the move and so on to teach Luna the foundations of magic.

"First is the relationship between the power of the Spirit and the magical power of the Operator..."

But what Varma taught was all Luna knew. Listening to that story, I was thinking of something else.

(That being said, they taught me a lot because I have a talent for dark attributes. But back then, I really hated being a user of dark attribute magic. I don't know why... but I don't think that at all right now. I wonder why......)

Though questioning his aversion to the disappeared dark attributes, he now gave priority to being able to use magic in order to gain some power.

Varma tried to go on to explain the basics even further without realizing the voice of Luna's heart.

"Next, about the spell..."

So Luna blocks me from saying, "I think I have enough knowledge," and transmits what I know.

"Spells are words that efficiently convey the wishes of the operators to the spirits, aren't they? The underlying configuration is…"

One or two minutes later, I asked him to switch to practicing magic because I know about it.

Varma shows how difficult it will be to practice all of a sudden, no matter how the son of the moon.

"But suddenly touching the power of the Spirit can affect your body"

"It's okay. Somehow, I feel like the spirits of darkness are telling me that I can use magic. I've never seen anything like this before."

Varma's eyes also saw the dark spirits blessing Luna, feeling that mistakes would not harm her.

"Okay. Now let us begin by giving you a sense of the power of the Spirit…"

Thus began Luna's magical training in a carriage bound for the city of Kufili.
