Lesson 23: Breaking Down

afternoon of February 5, 3026, Tria calendar.

Three days ago, on February 2nd, Ray encountered a strange being named “Observer (Obselve)" in a strange place called the Corridor of Dreams, but that is completely unrememorable. I was just feeling something hooked to my heart. But the wilderness did not give him room to think and continued to pose a constant threat. The constant blizzards of snowstorms, the incredible demons that strike day and night did not even make it possible to take a slight break, and even began to lack food. Physically challenging circumstances, but dietary restrictions have also been in place since yesterday.

For this reason, whatever Uno and other beastly slaves were trained on tough assignments, Ray, Ashley and Stella were so exhausted that they would even be a hundred million robbers of words. Ray, who continues to use magic in particular, was constantly plagued by symptoms of loss of magic - loss of energy and terrible tiredness - and was so exhausted that he had managed to put his legs forward by borrowing Ashley's shoulder.

If this state continued for the next two days, someone would have lost their life. Though it seemed so rigid, from last night onwards, the raid of demons, so persistent, lurked the ringing, just thinking about even going through the wilderness, moving on.

And this morning, the wind and snow that was blowing so hard stopped, slightly, but a blue sky peeks over their heads. This made it a little easier for everyone to think so, with a mouthful of slight food.

Further in the afternoon, Seyce, who was out in scouts, found a small settlement. Seyce tried to run around and on one knee in front of Ray said, "There's a building!," he reports somewhat excitedly for him, who rarely exposes his emotions.

Though Uno, the troop leader, blames him with harsh eyes, he thought Seyce was behaving brightly to give hope to his husband, Ray, and said nothing.

"What kind of building is it," Ray asked powerlessly, with a fallen expression, wondering if it was an abandoned building.

In contrast, Seyce said, "It looks like a cabin, but there were five as far as I could see. Probably a small settlement," he reports.

"You're absolutely sure," Ashley breaks into the conversation. She was anxious that the man she loved would be unbearable to this environment any more, and she jumped at the information.

Ashley asked, "No doubt about it. He also looked like a little ghost tribe," he said, bowing his head.

Ray finally understands the word.

And when I worked Seyce, I told Uno, "When it's night, I'll ask you to scout. Look for places to hide because you want to be as unnoticed as possible," he says.

Upon his grace, Uno ordered Seyce to monitor the settlement, as well as his men Ocho and Nuebe to scout the surroundings.

In about thirty minutes, Ocho and the others will return and report that they can wait in a canopy about a kilometer (km) away from the settlement. The Rays moved to the land and waited for the sun to set.

She was resting on the ground, but Stella noticed something was wrong with Ray. She already had fallen eyes and a bright blue complexion due to symptoms of loss of magic, but her breath became rough and she was shaking.

"Lady Ray is looking... Lady Ashley! Master Ray!" When Stella screams, Ashley, who was lying next to him, jumps up.

Ray's eyes slowly open to Ashley's cry, "Ray!"

Ashley and Stella exhale in relief, but although Ray opens his mouth a few times, he never uttered a word. The two of them were anxious to see him without even being able to speak up. I can't even do anything about the uno I refrain from behind, I can only stare worryingly.

When Ashley hugs Ray, hopelessness spreads to the heat of his body.

(What a high fever! In this situation where there is no healer...... we have to do something...)

She gives instructions to the stellars, who look worried.

"Stella! Give me some hot and cold medicine! Lord Uno, gather the firewood and light the fire!

Soon everyone moved out.

Stella takes out the antipyretic herbs and chops them into fine pieces. In the meantime, Uno gathered firewood and began to light the fire. Immediately the fire is set on fire and Stella frys the chopped herbs.

During that time Ray continued to tremble and responded little to Ashley's inquiry either. I hit the water bottle on my mouth in the morning to give it a drink of the water I had secured, but it just fell zero off the edge of my mouth.

In the meantime, Stella's fried potion water was ready. Ashley tried to give him more medicinal water than water. "It's medicine. Drink it," I carry it to my mouth, but I can't just drink it with a rough breath. Ashley had no choice but to give him a mouthwash of cold medicinal water.

Ashley takes his gear off so Ray can make it a little easier, and he takes his armor off himself. Then, to warm his body, he wrapped his cape for two around his body, holding Ray tight.

"Now we just have to see how it goes. Me and Ray won't be a force for war. I'm sorry, but I need perimeter alert."

Although Stella nods at Ashley's words, she strengthens the thought that she needs to do something about it.

(I hope the pills work, but if the pills don't... only Master Ray can use healing magic. How do I...)

I saw how things were going for about an hour after I took the pill, but Ray's condition never improved. Although we all learn to rush, if Ray's consciousness doesn't return that the only healing magic he can use is more than the pills don't work, we'll have to leave it to luck.

Ashley was feeling her gradually shallow breathing up close.

(This situation is awkward... but I can't do anything...)

That's when Seyce, who finished scouting the settlement, came back. But Ray to report has lost consciousness and Ashley is also in no situation to hear the report.

Nearing to report to Uno, Stella said, "What's going on with the settlement!" Stuck up to Seyce with a hurried look.

Though baffled for a moment, Seyce immediately began reporting.

"The village looks like it belongs to the Little Ghost tribe. There was no such thing as a Middle-Ghost or Big Ghost..."

"Is it a fort? Or is it a garrison or something!" Stella breaks in.

"No," Seyce shook her head sideways, "it looks like a small pioneering village. I also didn't see anyone with samurai-like equipment just because a crude fence surrounded the village," he replies.

Stella turned to Ashley,

"Let's take Master Ray to that village! If you're in a pioneering village, you have a healer if you're lucky!

Ashley says, "But..." but immediately shakes her head, "Wearing," and says, "No, Stella's right. Ray is in danger as it is," accepts Stella's suggestion.

Uno said, "But it's a demonic village. In danger..." he tried to disagree, but Ashley said, "I know that. But now we fight for a moment. We just have to make a bet," he said.

Uno nods quietly at the words too. And to Seyce and Nuebe, "Get into the village under the guise of a wreck. Escape if you want to be hostile. If you are likely to accept it, tell them that there are sick people and make sure there are no healers...".

In the meantime, Ashley and Stella prepare to leave.

"Ray and I are leaving my weapons here! I'll carry Ray! Stella will light up at my feet. Lord Uno asks for perimeter vigilance along with Lord Ocho and Lord Dies. Sorry, but don't count on me and Stella."

As soon as I give the instructions, I leave immediately.

Ashley decided to abandon Ray and his own weapons in order to prioritize the speed of movement. Ray's Spear "White Horn (Album Corne)" and Armor “Snow Clothes (Nixwestis)" are first-class weapons that are granted magic, but weigh far more than normal. Her armor and sword also get in the way to travel as far as a kilometer (Kimmel) carrying a person. I also thought about letting Uno and Stella carry them, but safety was a top priority.

Of course, I'll check the location, and I'm going to come and get it later, but it was a bold decision for her, a raw mercenary. So much so that Ray's situation was chopped up.

Due to being lightly dressed and taking adequate rest, Ashley's footsteps are lighter than I thought. Feeling the weight of Ray on his back, he remembered a long time ago.

(With that said, I was better carried in the city of Morton. It's when Hydra's poison hit me... at any rate, I'll help you! You helped me out on your own. Compared to that, I have both Stella and Lord Uno......)

Stella was anxious to see if the little ghost village would accept her as she watched Ray continue to be fevered.

(What I said, I wonder if you were really right... if you couldn't accept me if I was forced to go... you should have been quiet in that place...)

Did that anxiety come to your face when Ashley said, "You're right. I'm the one who made the decision to do that," he says. Furthermore, he said, "I don't mind being a prisoner. If Ray helps," he added.

Stella responds small to "yes".

(Master Ashley thinks that far... I need to think about this one first too...)

Proceed in a firm foothold through the dark-dominated wilderness. Ashley was not running but still walking at a speed close to a small run because she had no eye for the night and was carrying Ray even more.

About twenty minutes later, the figure of Seyce who had preceded him appeared.

"They're going to accept it! Nuebe is looking for a healer."

Ashley relieves herself of the word, but draws attention to Uno's words, "You're not a trap, are you?

"We're barely exchanging words, but that seems unlikely. I didn't feel particularly hostile to my appearance either."

Uno nods small and confirms to Ashley, "How do you like it?" She nodded loudly, answering forcefully, "Of course I'm on my way," and started walking again.

Seyce makes the report as she walks.

"They say the village's name is Mauki Village... on the outer edge of the" Wilderness of Despair, "a village about five days north of Zaleshe, the capital of the Ghost Nation, roughly one hundred and fifty Kimmel places..."

Ashley was still surprised by the success of this adventure, which seemed reckless, as she listened to the report. But there was nothing to be delayed by emotion. Saving the life of the man she loved was all she had in her head.

In the dark, the weak light of the bonfire, which reaches slightly, also began to appear in Ashley's eyes.

Ray's condition worsened further, he couldn't even cling to her back, groaning from time to time, and only a shallow and intense breath showed that the fire of his life had not gone out.

Stella's eyes clearly showed what the village was like. Surrounded by a crude wooden fence, it was just a poor village lined with a dozen tiny houses on a roof full of twig hagis.

(How could there be a village in a place like this... there should be richer land... Master Ashley is so full of heads about Master Ray. If I'm not firmer than usual......)

That's what I thought, and I told Uno nearby, "You can have just one. Please wait outside the village. so that we can move if anything happens," he whispers.

Uno nodded to the word "indeed," and immediately turned to Diez, "Stand by outside the village. If we lose contact from this one, we will infiltrate the village and save Master Arklight". Diez nods small and quietly leaves the scene.

Ashley looked sideways at the situation, but only contemplated entering the village.

(Lord Dies... I leave this place to Lord Stella and Uno. I'm only talking about Ray...)

Nuebe with a pine light appeared from the village.

"There was a healer. This way," he said, leading the Ashleys into the village.

At the entrance to the village, the men of the Little Ghost tribe were on guard with their weapons, but when they saw the bitter sick, they decided there was no danger, without putting up their weapons, they watched with a worrying look on their face as they passed.

Stella stood ready to pull out her sword at any time, but felt slightly relieved by her lack of hostility towards the little ghost men. Still, his vigilance did not loosen, and he looked around, illuminating Ashley's foot.

The inside of the village remained an impression from the outside, a poor pioneering village itself. Used farm tools were placed on the walls of houses afflicted by wind and snow, and beans and other vegetables hung under the roof.

The window was closed due to the midwinter night, but Stella felt her gaze staring into the gap. However, although I also feel curiosity from that perspective, I could not feel any more emotions.

(It really sounds like a pioneering village. I might be able to handle this...)

You heard Stella's heart, and Ashley was whining, "This will help" too.
