Trinitas Mundus

Episode Thirty: The Street to Luberna

The night of February 13th.

Varma Niska, of the Moon Demon Nation, was mourning his impudence.

She was distracted by suspicion by Luna, the son of the moon. But I can't forcibly come into contact with Luna, and I'm worried that I can't just go back to Luberna, the capital of the Moon Demons.

Around her there are twenty priests of the Winged Demons who were banished together, and together they are on their way in the outskirts of Zalesche.

When I looked into the northern sky, I accidentally saw about twenty man-shaped shadows in my eyes. The figure was gradually clearer, turning out to be a wing demon tribe with bat wings and its family wing demons.

The Winged Demons from the North were ten Winged Demons and ten Winged Demons led by Keira Lyvio, who received the life of the moon witch Elise Nortier.

Keira, who admitted to Varma's appearance, was surprised to see why he was in a place like this, and while "Much" smudged, he immediately descended the formation.

When he lands, he immediately pokes one knee and lowers his head. Behind her, the Winged Demons were equally on their knees to pay homage to Varma.

"Is this your son's welcome?" When Varma asked, Keira swallowed her inner questions and raised a beautiful face characterised by the eye of the slit length.

"I came to you on my back from Master Ehlis. We also take the life of Lord Varma to come under his command," he bows his head again.

Then, take a single seal out of your nostalgia and dedicate the seal, "It's your future instructions," he said.

As soon as Varma receives the seal, she opens it and checks inside.

It was already late at night and only the moonlight lit up, but there was no obstacle to the moon demons, whose eyes were bright at night.

Reading the orders written in the seal, despair spreads on Varma's face.

There were detailed instructions for the prompt transfer of Luna by the Wingman, making safety on the road a top priority, but arriving strictly at the end of February.

(Send your son out politely soon... I won't even be able to see him in this situation. Even if I can't take you, your child's heart will be further removed. Besides, the ghosts don't shut up. Talvo is a man who will always do what he says he will. If I can't take your son, I will surely send a soldier. Tens of thousands of people come to Luberna and they won't lose, but then Sokius' comrades will compete. That's all we need to avoid......)

After worrying, Varma explained the situation to Keira.

"... Your son is distrustful of our Moon Demons. Everything is caused by my immorality, but if I can't bring your son in this situation, the ghost tribe will surely erupt..."

Although Keira is surprised by the situation, she doesn't have a particularly good idea, but she listens in silence.

"If you don't persuade Ellis to come and persuade you directly, it won't be clear. I'm sorry I came, but I was wondering if you could take the priests back to Luberna. Because the priests are not fit for havoc."

Keira replies, "I understand," without complaining, because of the fatigue that kept her flying through the midwinter sky, but because of her task of carrying the moon's son safely.

After that, with detailed adjustments, Keira returned to Luberna with twenty wing demon clerics and ten escort wing demons, and Varma decided to lurk in a nearby village with the remaining nine wing demons.

Ray Arklight left the nearby village of Mauki, close to the “Desperate Wilderness (Desperationis)" on February 8th, for Luberna, the capital of the Moon Demon Nation.

It was difficult to say that he was in good physical condition, but whether resting and restoring his magic powers in Mauki Village did him any good, Ray's physical condition has also recovered to near normal. With the safety of the water confirmed further, it is no longer necessary to rely on his magic for drinking water, which has resulted in an extraordinary reduction in the consumption of magic. It was also an undulating and scarce plain, although there was no road from the village of Mauki to the streets leading to Luberna, which was exceptionally easy to walk and less likely to accumulate fatigue than in the wilderness of despair.

Though I left the village and went out on the street in two days, I couldn't possibly go and walk them waving a major player, not even a ghost tribe, but I was heading north to follow the street.

Two more days. The streets go into the deep woods. By then I had realized that this street was less crowded than I expected. Because it is a deep forest and the sight is blocked, Uno and the Beasts make it easy to guard their surroundings and decide that it is safe to continue down the street.

While walking down the street, Ray was thinking about his future policy.

(There is no guarantee that we are ahead. For example, we need to hurry to Luberna......)

The village of Mauki was about one hundred and fifty km (Kimmel) north of Zaleshe, the capital of the ghost tribe. The distance to Luberna is divided by two hundred kimmels, due to the fact that it is going east by fifty kimmels to get out into the streets and going through the deep woods for two days.

(It's been twenty days since Luna left Leriche, but there are six hundred and fifty kimmels from Leriche to Luberna. You should only be able to go about twenty kimmels a day in the snow. It should be critical in time, if you will. No, if you don't make it... go down the street and we'll go at least thirty kimmels a day. You should be able to get to Luberna in six or seven days...)

Ray tells Ashley, Stella and Uno what he thinks.

"... I think maybe I'll make it, but I need your opinion"

Ashley says, "Is it good from me" and starts talking.

"I guess Ray's predictions aren't out of line much. The same was true of the village of Mauki, but here in the land of the demons (Kwaedam Tenebre) there is deep snow in addition to thoughts, except in the wilderness of despair. Given Luna's physical condition, she should rest every few days. For example, even if strictly quoted, it would be reasonable to see him as just leaving Zalesche"

Stella questioned the words.

"But I wonder if we could move faster using wing demons, like we did when we grabbed Mr. Luna"

Ray also thinks about it and replies, "I think it's probably okay".

"There were no wing demons around Luna when we entered Leriche, and there were no wing demons in Leriche. Even if the order runs to Luberna, it must be physically challenging to keep flying through this cold sky for hours."

Ashley nods loudly, too.

"Shortly after his abduction, he was among the enemies. But I'm in a safe country now. Without rituals and deadlines, dangerous flights will be avoided."

Stella is also convinced by that explanation and laughs, "I don't know we're chasing, and I don't think you have to think much about what we can't do," she said.

Ashley and Stella had this interaction implicitly.

They were afraid Ray would be in a hurry. So Ashley gave the opinion that he would make it in time enough, and that Stella was convinced after expressing her concern that everyone's perception was fine.

Stella herself was convinced of Ray's explanation, but dared to question it.

Ray wasn't aware of that.

There is a small village by the way on the street to Luberna, where the Unos disappear and infiltrate to gather information.

Initially, it seemed suspicious that the Beastman would travel the streets, but it seemed that there were those heading to Luberna, where there was a great temple of darkness, even outside the demonic tribe of what was a small number, which was not so uncomfortable.

(Does it feel like a pilgrimage to the Holy Land? I don't think it's going to work because it stands out as this gear is, but if you take it off, I'm going to be fine too...)

After noon on February 14th, the Rays disguised themselves as travellers and entered the village along the street. Though on the main streets connecting the capital to each other, it was not as well developed as an accomodation town and there was no prosecutor to enter the village.

Once inside the village, there is a lonely atmosphere with medium and small ghost peasants just walking. Shops only have grocery stores and only one inn.

"Sounds like a lot of loneliness," Ray mutters, agreeing that Ashley is "right" too.

The two did not possess not only armor, but also spears and swords. The two are disguised as a couple going on a pilgrimage, and the Unos are disguised as a group who went on a pilgrimage from the same village. I decided by chance that I was willing to go to the same place, and we were acting together.

I would have lunch in the inn dining room, but there was little meat with just stiff bread and root vegetable soup.

Finish your meal to the point of public speaking in order to keep it as discreet as possible. Ashley speaks to Ray in a whisper just outside.

"You're poorer than I thought. The village of Mauki, close to the wilderness, was richer."

"Right. Looks like there's not a lot of farmland, and there's no hunter-like people."

The streets were not originally destined for agricultural land because they were in deep woods and villages were created in slightly open areas. In addition, even when it came to the streets, the Moon Demons and Wing Demons flew away, so they did not have to bother staying in poor villages, but used safe accommodation maintained separately from the villages.

Ghosts, people, etc. who can't fly through the sky use the streets to travel, but there was no such thing as a large number of merchants going around, and there was no element to develop as an accomodation town. In fact, although the streets that connect large cities are narrower, such as intermediate roads are better. The Rays did not pass, but the streets connecting the large city of Zalesche with the front-line base of Leriche were much better maintained.

I didn't have the currency of Sochius, the demonic country, but because the currency of the western country could be used, I would buy preserved food, salt, etc. at the grocery store.

The western currency could be used because of what the displaced had brought in or because of the currency in circulation that had been obtained in the invasion operations carried out on several occasions. In addition, even Sochius casts currencies of the same design as on the west side.

We'll shop while we chat at the grocery store, but Ray didn't care if we could figure out who we were. But the man of the Little Ghost tribe, the master of the grocery dealer, showed no interest in them.

Ray asked insignificantly, "There are dozens of people a year who go on pilgrimages. That's just people and beasts, too," he replies disinterested. As we talked further, we found that there was certainty between the ghosts and the demons headed by the Moon Demons.

(As you felt in Millis Valley. Is that why the ghosts don't want to go to Luberna? Because there's a gap in there...)

When they finish shopping at the grocery store, they go straight out onto the street. Of course, because we need to hurry ahead, but if you are a regular traveler with a distance of about twenty kimmels to the next village, you can stay in this village. However, I did not stay in the village because staying at the inn could confirm the orb.

February 17th.

In the two days leading up to the previous day, he had been hit by blizzards and several more demons. But it's not a dangerous enemy like the wilderness of despair, it's handled by the Unos alone without Ray having to use magic.

Stopping by a village on the way, you get information that many wing demons were headed south.

"About twenty Winged Demons... what do you think?" Ashley asks Ray.

"That's right," Ray said, and after a few seconds of silence, he largely started talking.

"I think maybe I was just picking up Luna. If you fly in the sky, you'll get there in four or five days, even at a distance of 300 kimmels."

Ashley snorted, "Right," and Stella and the others snorted the same way.

"It could be awkward if we don't hurry. If I were to fly around here five days ago, I would already be ready to leave... I don't know the exact distance, but I have about eighty kimmels left from here to Luberna. At this rate, Luberna is three days away. You can't find me unless you fly directly above me."

As we go north, the forest deepens, and the mountain roads become more severe. It only goes about thirty kimmels a day at a straight distance, but it's actually twice as close to walking. Because it is a deeper forest, there was a great risk of missing it even if the sky could not be seen and the Winged Demons passed through.

Ashley's hand overlaps Ray's hand showing a rush.

"I can't help but be in a hurry. Fortunately, the weather is not very good. I don't want to risk the moon with them."

At night the Rays were camping in the mountains a little further from the streets. When the date was changed, Nuebe, who was going on a sleepless turn, uttered a sharp warning.

"Winged Demons in the air! Number is twenty, no, thirty. We're flying north!

Uno jumps at the word, and then climbs the tree.

Ray and Ashley also woke up immediately. But although Stella beside him has silver hair brilliant under the moonlight, I couldn't see anything when the two unfavourable people at night looked up at the sky.

"I saw it, too. It's the Winged Demons! To Stella's voice," What's it like to be hanging something! "The hurried Ray's voice echoes.

"No, I don't have anything! They're flying in formation like migratory birds."

Although Ray was relieved that Luna had not been transported, he wondered why she had returned to Luberna.

(I feel like I went to Zalesche in good time and came back. For example, it is strange that you are not carrying Mr. Moon Palace. Did you even use transfer or some kind of magic...)

It is easy to imagine that the magic of transfer exists from the magic formation where Varma summoned the Winged Demon. In fact, Doctus researcher Professor Lionel Raspade makes the hypothesis and explains to him that there is no great difference in principle between the magic formations of transfer and the magic formations of summons.

Soon the figure of the Winged Demons disappeared into darkness. Uno jumped off a tree and on one knee began reporting.

"Nuebe is right. He looks like a wing demon and a wing demon. We're heading north."

When Ray muttered "The Winged Demon too," he nodded small, "There were twenty Winged Demons and about ten Winged Demons. None of them carry large baggage," he reports.

"Good luck," Ray said when he labored Uno, "I can't help being up here, so let's go to bed" and lay down. As he kept his back on Oki, he was thinking about why the Wing Demons as well as the Wing Demons were included.

(Wingman is an escort? Sure, wing demons seem to be able to use magic too, but do they use the demons they summon to use complex magic formations... especially this time it's "Son of the Moon" I send. Important sacrifice I got in exchange for thousands of ghost people. So, we should gather the best magicians... Was there a mistake?

Ray was thinking about what was to come, feeling Ashley's body temperature sleeping next door.
