Lesson 41: Persuasion

The morning of March 1st. A valley in Rowni Bay, south of Luberna.

Elise Nortier, the leader of the Moon Demon Nation, could not hide her dismay from her reduced men to a third. When we left this morning there were ten wing demons and ten wing demons, in addition to Varma Niska of the Moon Demons, the right arm. Only six Winged Demons are around themselves in just one hour.

Luckily Luna is secure, but with this number of people it is difficult to carry Luna to Luberna, albeit only a short distance away. The primary cause of this was the presence of Ray, the White Mage, the enemy of the Demon Clan.

He waited as he netted on the rowni, and when he pulled down the ealis by ambush, he tried to take Luna back using the beasts, soldiers of the rehearsal "Who". It was only spared by the warning of the death of Varma, who was seriously wounded in the first ambush, that the main force, the Wingman, was wiped out and Varma's survival was hopeless. Though he managed to escape into the rock shelves of the deep valley, he was frightened by the rays on the other side of the valley and could not even show his face instead of jumping up.

Ray, on the other hand, couldn't hide his disappointment.

Everything was ruined by the invasion of Varma's death at a moment when he thought the surprise raids of the Unos, the beastly slaves, could succeed in one more step and regain Luna.

I am further reminded that Varma's prophecy has led me to flee to the opposite bank of the valley, and that even if I rush to the spot, its desperately deep valley - a hundred meters deep (melt) and thirty melts wide - has made it almost impossible to reclaim Luna to a certain valley.

(Even the Unos can't cross easily. Guess it's no use magically attacking me from here. You can't guess if you're hidden in the shadow of a rock, and if you use range magic, it hurts Luna (moon palace)...)

Ray asks Uno to "find a way across the shore as soon as possible". Uno said, "Ha! When he said," Copy, he disappeared into the woods with his men.

He decided to appeal to the "Moon Witch," including the meaning of buying time, that the ritual she was about to perform was dangerous.

Ray stands closest to the other shore and starts talking out loud.

"We are not going to attack Sochius! It's just that the ritual you're about to perform is dangerous! If you stop that and return Luna, I won't attack you any more! ……

The voice had reached Elise's ear. At first I had decided to ignore what I was talking about, but I was somehow listening to stories coming into my ears.

"What are you going to do with the power of the Dark God (Noctis)! God that brings peace, Noctis should be in denial of war!

I don't think of the word, I disagree.

"What do you know about the Dark God? The temple of darkness has brought down the temple! You're not saying anything stupid. Get out of here now!

Ray questioned Elise's objections.

(Is the shrine really of the Dark God (Noctis)? Noctis is the God of peace. I don't think I'm going to give you a trust that's going to incite war...)

Stella approached me from behind when Ray tried to argue.

"A man named Varma is still alive. Should I stab a stop?

Ashley tilts her neck at the word. Varma is the main enemy and the opponent who has been drinking boiled water many times. I was wondering why I needed Ray's permission to stab that enemy in the face.

When you say that question, Stella answers it in a clear tone.

"I feel like that guy named Ealis is losing his cool. In exchange, someone named Varma is calm, and I felt like I was trying to protect Mr. Luna. I wondered if I could change who I was negotiating with."

Ray nods small at Stella's words.

"Maybe you do. Maybe the Moon Witch is being manipulated by someone. There are too many strange things about a country's leaders. In that regard, Varma always felt sensible from the time she grabbed Luna. I'm not going to be able to negotiate on that. The person in front of you might be able to persuade you."

"But isn't it dangerous? That woman has drunk boiled water many times. I'm not in favor of believing in Yamato, which makes people puppets," Ashley disagrees.

"I'll just treat you for now. Because if I let you die here, there 'll be no negotiations or anything later. Of course, I'll keep him in custody so he can't get away with it."

When Ray made that decision, Ashley also nodded, "If that's what you decided to do, let's obey".

Leaving Ashley to watch the Ealis moved to where Varma was falling unnoticed. Most of all, the Ealis were wary of Ray's magic, so they couldn't even show their faces and his actions were not monitored at all.

Varma was breaking her left arm in the impact of the crash after being subjected to Ray's magic on her chest. But the worst injury was on Stella's slashed and torn back. The robe he is wearing is painted on the blood, and his fair face is as pale as the dead. Her chest was slightly up and down and I can confirm that she was breathing, but the fire of her life was about to go out.

Ray quickly hung the healing magic. The wound is blocked but the amount of blood lost is too much and the consciousness does not return.

Still, Stella kept her guard open and set herself up with her two swords unplugged.

Ray asks Stella to "restrain him with a rope," but she didn't think she could resist in this state on the inside.

(As strange as it is to be alive. No, did you treat the injuries you received with my magic yourself... for once, it will be difficult to fly because only the wings are not completely healed, and you won't be able to use magic...)

Stella uses the rope to restrain her. Ray takes the Ealis to where they can see them when he holds the restrained Varma.

So hanging on to more healing magic, Varma regained consciousness.

"Here, this is..." I don't understand my situation and I'm confused, but immediately look at Ray's white armor.

"White Mage! What are you going to do with me! scream."

Ray shouted up and said to Varma, "I'm not willing to do anything,"

"Because Lord Ehlis is completely upside down and we can't talk about it. I helped because I felt like you would listen to me," he said quietly.

Though Varma questions its tone, she tightens her mind that it is an enemy who has come to take the Son of the Moon.

"Kill me! You're going to use me to take away your son! I'm not going to be taken advantage of by you. Kill him now!" he summons.

"I just want you to listen to me......" Ray gives a puzzled look, but immediately squeezes his expression,

"The ritual you are about to perform does not bring down the Dark God (Noctis). It's a ritual that brings in another evil being. So, we must definitely stop... or Luna will disappear from every being. Luna, whom you call the Son of the Moon, will be billed to the Evil God."

Varma doesn't even lend ears to Ray's serious words.

"Dear Elise, the witch has given you the word of God. What do you know about a god of light like you?"

That's what I say to mock.

"I'm not using Lucidus or anything. Well, that's no... By the way, who said that Noctis wanted to descend into this world? Noctis is a God who brings peace. You can't say you want to descend into this world until such a god has started a war. You must think you're crazy, too."

Varma gets stuck in words for a moment. She herself has questioned Elise's actions and also knows that Luna was using the power of Noctis to reconcile herself with the ghost tribe. Especially Luna's speech is by Sokius - the name of the Demonic Nation. Meaning comrade - he preached unity and felt closer to the ideal of nation-building than Elise's claimed demon-led state operation.

(I don't know what this guy's trying to say. But I can't ride this guy's mouth truck here. This man is the man of the rest of us. You can't even know the resentment of our ancestors...)

Varma bites her back teeth tight and pulls herself back on the verge of being flushed.

"The Moon Witch is the sacrificial chief of the Dark God (Noctis). God knows that, too. Then it would be strange to assume that there is an error in your words."

"Sure. But what if there's an evil god comparable to the gods? What if that evil god was cheating on the name of Noctis? An evil god should be able to deceive a witch who is a man...... If Noctis wants a descent, everyone wants a blessed state. I don't think the current state is what everyone wants. At least Luna's not convinced."

Varma was slightly upset by the last word. Because I knew Luna didn't want it, which was manifesting the power of Noctis.

Ray's silence elsewhere continues.

"I'm not familiar with the gods. But the temple of Noctis should have been a place of peace. It is not compatible with the intensity of raising" Ma 'anjo "like Lord Elise is now. So I guess Lord Elise is being manipulated by someone else who's not a Noctis."

Varma recalls what Ellis has said and done over the past few years in that word.

(I do feel like Ellis changed people after I found out your son was descended. Until then, there were tough spots, but there was no point in not choosing the means for the purpose......)

Ray was aware that Varma was beginning to get lost. But we don't even know what that comes from.

Ray went on a bet there.

(Varma is lost. I don't know what you're hooked on, but it's the only time. If I let her hear the reasoning I've been thinking about...... if I'm wrong, it's ruined that I started listening to the corners, but now I just have to bet)

And I started talking in a slow tone.

"This is my imagination, but this is what the shrine descended after the descent of the Son of the Moon was all about. If you get the moon child and perform the ritual of descent, Noctis will clear your seniority. Surely the demons should have been chased home by the countries of the west. Didn't they bring that up?"

Varma groans, "Why, make it......" and complains. It was almost identical to what Elise said when the trust went down.

I thought Ray had won the bet, but he continues to persuade without loosening his expression.

"Don't you think it's strange? As I said earlier, Noctis should have been a peace-loving God among the Twelve, along with the God of Man (Wita). Wita gives love to all, and Noctis gives peace to all. If you spoke of revenge, which is opposite to tranquillity, that's not a noctus! You impersonated Noctis, another being!

Varma had felt years of questions melt to the ice. I finally understood the discomfort between what I felt in the Temple of Darkness and the temple that went down to Elise, who it was.

(I wonder why I hadn't noticed it before. Think about it, no, if you felt it with your heart you would have figured it out right away...... maybe I was manipulated by what he calls evil gods too......)

Still, I can't honestly put it into words.

Varma is surprised by Ray's words, "I have a suggestion."

"I want Lord Ehlis to offer to postpone the ritual. There must be no reason to rush the ritual of divine descent right now. And I don't know if Luna's convinced, but if she's not convinced, we should at least put it off until we're convinced."

Varma doubted his ears at the words. And he said, "You're letting me go?," he said.

She as well as Ashley and Stella have a surprising look on their face.

Ray snorts,

"Let me run out of time, of course. Mounting promises by noon and coming back. Then it's conditional on me talking to Luna."

Ashley and Stella tried to say something, but when Ray controls it with his eyes, he hangs healing magic on Varma's wings.

"I don't want to argue. But if you sacrifice Luna, there will always be disaster in this world. I know that (...)"

Varma heard without looking back, "Why can you say all that?" toward Ray, who was hanging a healing magic on his back.

"I don't know what to say, but I know the truth about what this world is all about."

"Is the White Mage also a prophet?" but Ray shook his neck to the side,

"I'm not a prophet, and I'm not God's use. That's why I can't look forward to the future. But I know that if a ritual using Luna takes place, there will be disaster in the world. I don't know what's gonna happen."

Varma felt strangely young when a man called the White Mage. The image of a rare strategist who crushed all our own measures and executed what could be described as a ruthless operation breaks down.

But that broke her obsession with Ray slightly.

"Okay. I, Varma Niska, wager on the name of the Moon Demons and tell Master Elis about it. I'm also going to tell you that you're never our enemy."

Ray says "please" to the word and bows his head down small.

"We won't be attacking here until noon. Of course, if you try to escape, I'll shoot you down," he adds.

When Varma similarly praised him small, he quickly rose to the sky.

The remaining form of Ashley protests abruptly.

"Is there someone who can heal the main enemy and let him escape?" Ashley grabs the momentum. Stella, who recommended negotiations, also protests in a rare and strong tone.

"Master Ashley is right! Didn't you have to let me go over there? It should have been enough to let us talk from here!

Ray shook his head, "Wearing,"

"The witch won't believe what Varma has to say if we let her talk from here. I just think you're being manipulated by me. Besides, I don't think a guy named Varma would have tried to help me if I didn't trust him. This is a bet."

Ray continues his conversation before Ashley and the others raise more protests.

"I can't help Luna if it stays that way. Of course, we can't get out of this country either. Shooting those people down and rescuing Luna is nearly impossible to escape from here..."

"That's why..." Ashley blocked, but Ray continued the conversation regardless.

"So we have to convince someone named Ellis at all costs. That man, Varma, is the only possibility."

The two aren't convinced yet, but Ray grinned there,

"Besides, she's already gone, so now let's hope she succeeds in persuading us," he said, staring at Varma flying away.
