Trinitas Mundus

Episode 47: Elise's Determination

Around 4pm on March 1st.

Elise Nortia, the leader of the Moon Demon Clan, the "Moon Witch," was watching her men, Keira Livio of the Winged Demon Clan. Lower the clerics who were seeing Keira, leaving only two of them in the carriage.

At the end of her gaze there was a figure of Keira who was as bloody as a wax due to massive bleeding. Keira was stabbed and seriously injured with a dagger by Elise, who was brainwashed by the godless (Vanitas).

Though Ray's healing magic has been received, his consciousness has not yet returned, and he has a distressed look on his face.

Even though Elise was brainwashed, she was ashamed of what she did.

(I was crazy then. But I can't change the fact that I stabbed Keira. What should I say when I wake up... even though Keira doesn't know that Vanitas was about to descend or that I was about to be killed...)

With that in mind, Ellis was giving Keira peace of mind with dark attribute magic.

(This should make it a little easier...)

When I finished hanging the magic, Keira's expression loosened slightly. And the eye lid slowly opens.

"This is... Lord Ehlis... Your son..."

Is it just after I wake up, or is it caused by the shock of being stabbed by Elise, whining like a rumor? Ellis wondered how to speak, but took Keira's hand and hung up.

"How are you feeling? Keira, are you okay?

Keira slowly turned her gaze when Ellis called out like that. And I open my eyes to Ellis holding hands.

"(a) Dear Elis..."

The voice contained fright, and Elise was feeling Keira's hand tremble.

"I'm sorry. I was being weird with the Evil God back then... but this is just an excuse. I can't believe I was brainwashed being a witch... but good for you. You're safe..."

Ellis was tearing away as he said so. Keira was surprised to see that, but at the same time, the tremor in her hands had stopped. Ellis here these days was difficult to get close to because it had grown before, but now Ellis seemed to be regaining his old kindness.

"Is your child safe? Dear Varma..."

"Varma is safe. And your child's body. But your son may have a broken heart when Vanitas is about to take his body. Because that god was not as acceptable to man..."

Without regard for danger, Keira is strongly shocked when she is told by the ghost tribe that the result of forcibly abducting her is to lose the use of God.

"Oh no..."

"But it's okay. Because I will repair my soul in the Great Temple. I will definitely help your son."

Keira is relieved that Ellis is confident.

"I need a favor from you."

Keira feels slightly uncomfortable with Ellis, who says so and bows her head small.

"What would it be like"

After a little hesitation, Elise tells us that the Rays are accompanying her.

"Actually, there's a white magician in another carriage, Lord Ray..."

I hear with a white mage. I open my eyes, but I listen to Elise without pinching my mouth.

"... Lord Ray knew I was being manipulated by Vanitas. And I've crossed Aquila to save your son and even crossed the wilderness of despair..."

I raise my voice unexpectedly to the word wilderness of despair.

"Desperate wilderness..."

Elise never blamed him for being blocked from talking.

"That's right. Lord Ray and his family have crossed the wilderness to help your son. Only then will you know how prepared you are... Lord Ray and your son seem to be in the same town. And it feels like we're deeply bonded. So you should have him when you repaired your son's heart. I wonder if you'll understand that."

When Keira nods, she goes further.

"You can't let him know he's a white magician. But now it's just me and Varma and you who know this. So I want you to suit us too... I may not be convinced, but it is necessary to save your son's life..."

Elise explained to Keira what she had met with the Rays. Though I find Keira difficult to convince, she could only nod to the order of the witch, the superior.

"Thank you. Anyway, helping your child is the most important thing right now. Remember that."

That's what I said and left the carriage.

There was a spark of mistrust left behind in Keira's mind.

(I understand what Master Elise is saying. But my men were killed by that man. I can't forget that right away......)

A cleric came in to replace Elise, so he couldn't think any further.

When Elis returned to his original carriage, he ordered him to leave. After the carriage moved out, he reported to the Rays that he had succeeded in convincing Keira.

"Keira convinced me, too. To save your son."

Ray nodded small, but Ashley was wondering if it was so easily convincing.

"Lord Keira must have been the commander of the Winged Demons. Ray is killing my men, but is it really okay"

Ellis asked Ashley's question, "She'll be fine. I won't do anything different than what I ordered," he said confidently.

Furthermore, Varma was in tune with it.

"Master Elise is right. Keira would never betray a witch's trust. Whatever."

Ashley never put it in her mouth, although she wasn't convinced by the two statements.

(These two are rulers. I don't know what it really feels like to be a fighter. My men have been murdered for years. Even if you know it with your head, you won't necessarily be convinced from the bottom of your heart... unless you've broken it off as much as the Uno lords... you'd better warn Ray and Stella...)

She thought we shouldn't be arguing on this occasion and later decided to tell Ray and Stella in her heart.

Before sunset, the carriage arrived in Luberna.

The Unos, who were on guard around the carriage, also enter the city without a thing because of the escort Varma personally added to his subordination.

Luna, son of the moon, arrived, but the city was quiet. This is because the clergy did not publish it considering their physical condition.

The Grand Temple combines a political authority that conducts government with a temple that conducts divinity. Upon entering the main gate, there was a temple in the front to carry out the divine affairs, and there was a series of political authorities to carry out the affairs to the left and right of it.

Because there are many worshippers in front of the temple, this time they are entering behind the temple through the back gate, which is less conspicuous than Ealis instructed. Behind the temple was a living space for the priests, who immediately put the carriage on there.

Ray could not hide his surprise at the fact that he entered the Great Temple of Darkness, the heart of the Demonic Nation, more easily than he thought.

(Maybe it's because of the substantial rulers of this country and their bellies, but I feel too wary. Is this ok......)

The center of the nation he knew was the Royal Palace of the Kingdom of Lax and the Adventurer's Guild headquarters of Periclitle, all of which exercised strict vigilance. The Royal Palace of the Kingdom of Lax could not be allowed in without showing the Orb - a demonic prop to prove his identity - even if it was the King himself, and there was ample vigilance as an intermediate measure in Periclitle.

When I told Varma about it, she asked back with a strange face.

"I have no reason to doubt Master Elise, the witch."

"I think there's some kind of magical manipulation or some kind of sneak into the carriage?

"It's hard to hang puppets and hypnosis on the Moon Demons, the magical users of darkness. Except if he wants to."

Ray questioned the words.

"But this time I'm being manipulated by the godless (Vanitas)"

Varma said, "Yeah," after that.

"Until now, we never thought we'd be manipulated by the magic of darkness. Maybe we should reinforce our security a little bit in the future. But if God is against him, I don't even feel like wasting it..."

In fact, the Moon Demons' resistance to mental attacks is very high, and dark attribute magic works very rarely, especially for high-ranking magicians like Elise and Varma. Varma was subjected to the magic of Elise's paralysis because of a situation where Vanitas manipulated him and the powers of the unusually dark Spirit became stronger. In a normal state, even the witches of the moon would not have succeeded in the magic of paralysis against as many users of dark magic as Varma.

"I think we should at least provide security on the assumption that Vanitas might have someone manipulated us. Because Vanitas' power didn't just disappear after a failed descent."

Ellis nodded honestly at Ray's suggestion.

"That's true. Until now, I've never thought of a priest being manipulated by dark magic. If the enemy is only the Black Demons, that's good, but if God is the other guy, you should change your mind."

I hear voices from clerics as I talk about that.

"Can I bring your son here without you?"

On behalf of Ellis on that question, Varma said, "In the meantime, we're taking you to your room. And make arrangements for bathing and eating," he commanded. The clerics immediately begin their action, with the appearance of beastly men and women of the human race who work below.

Did Elise lose the thread of tension when she returned to the Grand Temple, or she would wake up and sit back in the carriage chair. Varma panics about its appearance,

"It's okay. Keep the priests in the diocese. I will pray to Noctis from 8pm."

Varma sends an anxious gaze as to whether she is okay with the words, but she quietly bowed her head in the wake of Elise's strong willed gaze.

(Lord Elise is willing to save your son's soul with his life at stake. I'm sure you feel responsible. Then one end of that responsibility should be on me too......)

Thinking about it, he went into the back of the temple trying to drag a heavy body that had not recovered.

"Lord Ray and his men will now be treated as my men. To avoid being questioned by the others," Ellis tells her in a whisper.

Ray nods small and acknowledges.

"You eat and cleanse your body. Because you, the hometown, have an important task to keep telling your son."

When Elise orders Eagle Deep to do so, Ray bows his head greatly, "I did," he said.

And to Ashley and Stella.

"You two stay with your son. If it weren't for you when you woke up, your son would be confused."

Starting Maryana with those words, the remaining clerics assumed that the Ashleys were Luna's entourage.

We will also give orders to the Unos.

"Stay under Ray until Varma tells you to. I don't think we can solve this person's hypnosis, but we'll hold him back in case."

The Unos also quietly bow their heads, as it is as per the prior meeting.

(Now Lord Ray and the others should look like my hands. Only how far you can go after that to me now...... no, not if you can do it. Gotta do it......)

Elise was anxious to be able to perform a massive ritual with her now tired body. But, as I have said to myself, I even think that Luna's treatment is better as soon as possible, and that she can lose her own life to do so.

(It is my fault that your son's soul was hurt. Even though Vanitas was manipulating me, I forcefully performed the ritual of divine descent... because I have to redeem "Ayana" with my life. This is something I can't even tell Varma......)

Without putting his inner resolve on the table, Elise gave instructions to the clergy with a soft grin.
