Trinitas Mundus

Episode 48: Prayer for the Gods

Night of March 1st.

Ray finished his meal and bath and was in the diocese, the heart of the temple.

It had been a long time since I had eaten indoors and bathed further, so I was refreshed.

He removed his weapons and changed into pure white knight clothes. I only wore it when I met Ashley, wary of designs reminiscent of the Holy Knight, clothes that I had rarely put through my sleeves before. But he thought that a solemn ritual would take place, and he wore his clothes, which were authentic.

However, clothes with plenty of gold and silver yarn in pure white fabric imitating the sun had an atmosphere incompatible with the priests of the temple of darkness, which was based on black. In fact, the priests frown upon the temple of light, its costumes reminiscent of light divinity.

Still, he didn't care. Because I thought I should show some respect in order to convey my wishes to the Dark God (Noctis).

(Noctis is a god that pairs with the God of Light (Lucidus). I'm not hostile or hating you. Shadows are created by light. The moon shines by the sun. If so, there should be no problem with this outfit...)

Regardless, I have spoken beforehand to Elise Nortier, the witch of the moon, and she has received recognition. She was also in full agreement with his ideas.

"Except when you're manipulated by the god of nothingness (Vanitas), your thoughts are the same as the teachings of the Temple of Darkness. The darkness of Noctis is what wraps it all up and gives it peace. The light of Lucidus illuminates everything and gives life. Light and darkness are never in conflict."

That's what I said, but I can't hide my surprise in what he looks like.

"And where did you have it?

When Ray is having trouble answering,

"Besides, you have strange powers in those clothes."

Ray tilts his neck to an unexpected word.

"Is it a force? I can't feel it."

Elise smiled,

"Probably, but that's what priests wear. It feels like the power of the Spirit is pouring in slightly… I feel like it would work in the right direction for this ritual…"

In the case of large-scale rituals and prayers such as this one in her description, priests use tools that are easy to gather the power of the Spirit. Canes, such as canes, bracelets and necklace-like outfits, but the same effect is said to be on Ray's clothes.

"Seeing that, I just figured it out, this time I'm starting to feel like I should pray to all gods, not just Noctis"

"Why is that?," says Ray, questioning.

"Because the enemy is Vanitas. In mythology, Vanitas is a God that brings an end to the world. The Gods of the Twelve Pillars, including the Genesis God Clare Tor, keep the world created. In other words, I think Vanitas' power extends to the world."

I thought Ray would be.

(It certainly was like that in the world setting of the novel...... if the descent of Vanitas meant the ruin of the world, the gods would help too......)

There was a ceremonial meeting, and I was coming to the diocese first after breaking up with Elise, who is ready.

There were more than twenty Moon Demons, female priests of the Wing Demons, but they could not hear one cough Wrinkle Bu, and the high ceiling cathedral was dominated by silence.

The cathedral is a structure in which the columns of the cylinder support the ceiling on the arch, with obsidian stone on the floor and columns, but the walls are white based and have no sense of obstruction. The floor depicts a magical formation of intricate tattoos.

Also, windows near the ceiling had stained glasses dominated by blue and red, and beautiful light would have plugged in during the day.

On the front of the entrance to the large wooden door is an altar, resting a statue of the god about five meters (melt) high. It was like a statue of the Dark God (Noctis) with a soft grin like the Virgin Mary.

Even when it comes to cathedrals, there are no benches like Christian churches, and I get the impression that they are Muslim temples (mosques).

Ray had a good harmony of elegance and weight, even giving him the impression of a museum of modern art coupled with monotonous tones.

(Did you see it on TV back in the day? I feel like there was something like this in some museum... but the temple in the city of Morton has settled down too, but that's the main mountain. I feel my heart washed......)

Looking around the ceilings and walls, Varma Niska came into the room. The priests bow their heads simultaneously.

Varma couldn't hide her surprise in Ray's appearance either, but still showed no offensive look at all.

"That's a great cathedral. I feel my heart washed. No wonder you hear the gods."

"I'm glad you said that. It's not just the Moon Demons, it's the Demons' pride."

Respond with a smile, but change the subject immediately.

"As I'm sure Elise has told you, you will join us in prayer, and Lord Ashley and Lord Stella will refrain in the diocese as your son's escorts"

"Where are the Unos?," he said.

"Unfortunately, the Uno lords are not allowed here in the official (...). You will wait outside."

With Varma emphasizing the word “official," Ray assumed that the Unos were lurking in this.

"Okay. I don't think anything's gonna happen here, so no problem."

As Varma walked away with a mild rendezvous, Elis came in. Behind it, the wing demon carries the sleeping table. Luna lays on that sleeping table, Ashley and Stella walking left and right as if to protect her. The two of them are dressed in clear clothes like the nuns wear, and do not possess any kind of weapon.

Did Luna also have her body wiped off, the dirt is no longer clean when she was lying on the rocks, and she is dressed in a dark dress separate from the dress she was wearing.

When the Wings laid their beds in the middle of the magic formation, a designated place, they left the diocese as if nothing had happened.

"I think we all know we've been busted by Vanitas. We need to save your son's will."

"There are outsiders," one of the clerics remarked.

"Lord Ray, who is here, is home to your son and a user of all his attributes. What's more, he's bound to obey my life, and I don't have to worry about anything. It's a waste of time now. I think only of saving your son."

I'm not putting it up, but the voice has power, and the clerics bowed their heads without pursuing it any further, even though they questioned it in their hearts, wondering if some sort of treatment was being done by Ehlis' affirmation that he would obey himself.

Elise stood beside Luna, and Ray knelt next to her again to hold Luna's hand.

"Now begin the chant."

Twenty clerics began casting spells by order of Ealis. The spell is a relaxed melody like a psalm, and as its beautiful soprano wraps around the diocese, it gives tranquillity to those who listen, and is even more full of the power of the Spirit.

Where the power of the Spirit was ample, Elise laid her hand on Luna's chest and began to pray wholeheartedly.

"I am the Noctis who preside over darkness and tranquillity. Creating the world, Claretor... your son's soul was greatly damaged by Vanitas. Bless his soul..."

The words she uttered were not spells, but sincere words to think of Luna. Ray beside him had no falsehood in his hissing words, and he felt that he was sincerely thinking of Luna.

And he prayed to the gods the same way. The prayer is in Japanese so that it reaches Luna.

"O gods who called me. If you can hear me, please help Luna, Mr. Lunar Palace. Many more lives will be lost if she doesn't come back. So help Mr. Lunar Palace...... '

Ashley and Stella were feeling a force they had never felt before. The power was envelopingly gentle, unrelated to violence, and he felt as if he was held in his mother's chest or at peace.

(Is this the real power of Noctis... is the story of God giving peace true? I thought the Demons were just a rough race, but that's a mistake. I believe in the Dark God who can create such tranquillity... when I hear this song, I remember my mother. About your mother who sang a lullaby to me when I was young...)

Ashley thought of her late mother and was weeping unknowingly.

Stella had left herself to the equally gentle singing voice, but still in a corner of her mind she was always on guard.

(This song is fantastic... I remember when Lady Ray comforted me after my previous husband, Lady Deodard, died... but I can't be alarmed. Because this is an enemy land...)

And squeeze the throwing sword you hid in your nose.

When did the Unos get in, they were already lurking inside the diocese. He is dressed in a black-like outfit to be used when infiltrating and watches for harm to the rays from inconspicuous places such as shade of the ceiling beam, under the altar, etc.

Ashley and Stella had asked me in advance to prevent any suspicious behavior by the Moon Demons or if the Nothingness God (Vanitas) once again wielded power.

Ray didn't care about his surroundings and even kept praying. Also, as Luna woke up, she talked about her high school years in Japanese, albeit in a small voice.

"Do you remember, Mr. Lunar Palace? That Ryuji did an idiot at a cultural festival a year ago and was scolded by the students' union seniors. Since then, he's been immersed in the student council. So in the end, I even did the chairman, so you don't know what triggers it... '

I continue to urge you to come back desperately in my heart, even as I continue to talk about no other love.

(Mr. Moon Palace! Come back here! Guys, I'm worried about you...... I need to get back to Periclitle and reassure Ryan and Mr. Hazel... there's someone waiting for you! Of course, I want you back, too! Mr. Moon Palace! Come back! ……

His thoughts were conveyed to the spirits, and colorful spirits danced the diocese.

The eyes of Varma and the priests showed the delightful ramblings of the Spirits, who felt that Ray and Elise were praying to all the gods.

Varma, in particular, could not hide her surprise from the many spirits who dance around Ray.

The number of spirits flying around him was comparable to the best of the Moon Demons, the Moon Witch. Furthermore, all spirits are equally amused and disturbed compared to Elise, the subject.

(I said white magician, but loved by the spirits of all attributes... who is he? There is no way that a human race can show comparable power to Master Ealis. I told you I was home with your son, but where did he come from?

I thought that in a corner of my head, but I immediately change my mind.

(It doesn't matter who he is. Now I'm just saving your son. If he can help me, I don't care who it is...)

Though I reconsider that, I was beginning to feel slightly uncomfortable. In her eyes it felt as if the forces gathered were looking for a way to go.

(The spirits are rambling with fun. I've never seen so much power, but I feel like the spirits are looking for a place to go. I'm supposed to concentrate on your child... like he's being obstructed from intentionally gathering up with your child... no, maybe your child doesn't want to accept it himself? Then you're likely to fail...)

Still, we can't interrupt the ritual, but continue chanting with the priests.

(Now I just have to believe in Lord Ellis and Lord Ray. Because you two are definitely the best users in the world. But are you okay? Master Ellis seems spicy...)

An hour had already passed since the ceremony began, and there was a ball-like sweat on Elise's forehead. Still, I don't see a painful look on that face, and I sincerely keep praying to the gods.

The clerics were taking turns in due course, and each time, they looked worried about what Elise looked like. But I know that interrupting in a halfway state is a huge burden on the surgeon, and I can't stop Ealis.

(Success depends on Elise's health. The only way to reduce the burden at all is for us to gather the power of the Spirit efficiently...... God! Please help your son and Elise!... God! ……

Varma prayed sincerely.

There was no shadow at all of the dark magician who had confused Periclitle, and he only looked like a devout priest.

But for another hour, even at 10pm, Luna never woke up.

Ellis originally saw the colour of fatigue in the clergy and the limits were approaching.
