Lesson 50: The Power of the Gods

When the date changed on March 2nd.

In the Great Temple of Darkness in Luberna, the ritual of restoring Luna's soul still continues.

The diocese was so full of holiness that it made non-clerics feel that the gods were watching over it.

Four hours had already passed since the beginning of the ritual, and the Moon Demons and Wing Demons clerics had taken turns many times, but the central figure of the ritual, the Moon Witch, Elise Nortia, kept praying to the gods without rest. She also continues to chant beside Ehlis without resting her subordinate, Varma Niska.

There was someone trying to help Luna without taking another break. That's Ray, who keeps calling beside her.

He continued to talk as much as he could come up with in Japanese as he prayed to the gods in his heart. Talk about other loveless stories from high school, what happened in Periclitle, etc.

'... the rice from Periclitle's Rough Eagle's Nest was delicious, wasn't it? Looks like you've been using it for a long time, but how long have you been using it? She used to use Ash too, so she might have seen him somewhere...'

A glimpse of her shows a slight reaction.

(I think the Periclitle story is more responsive than the high school story... Ryan told me that he's been in Periclitle for two years, but you didn't get to hear more about it...)

After I revealed who I was, I only had about ten days before she was grabbed. Plus they were dispatched to Rickadale and he himself was busy preparing for Periclitle's defense, so he's only been able to talk for a very short time.

'I want to hear what you've been through in this world. About the adventurer who helped you, or where you lived after you were helped...'

Luna's arm moved pickly on the words. The mouth opens even slightly.

"............ I want to see you..."

"Luna! You're coming back! Tell me who you want to see! Luna! '

For the first time since being influenced by the power of the godless Vanitas, Luna uttered the word. Ray screamed desperately to bring her consciousness to this occasion.

"Luna! There's someone waiting for you! Please, go back! ……

Ray's sudden shouting stopped the priests chanting. But Elise and Varma kept praying, and the clerics rushed back to chanting.

Ashley watched Ray in the corner of the diocese where the chants of the priests sounded comfortable. Warm objects filled his heart with prayers from Elise and others, but slight jealousy comes at the way he takes Luna's hand and prays desperately.

(I hear you're an alumni of the college, but you weren't just from your hometown? No, you said you were the one I admired... are you still in love...)

The feeling was communicated to Stella, who is lying on the side.

"Master Ray is fine. I'm just desperate to help Mr. Luna."

I'm suddenly surprised to be talked to, but I don't show a convincing look. Seeing the look of her disbelief, Stella continues her conversation as she stares at Ray.

"Remember when my previous husband, Lady Deodard, died? That one desperately tried to cure Master Deodard, who was just with me for a few days. And when he died, he was saddened like a family. So don't worry about Mr. Luna either. I believe."

At the end of the day it felt like telling herself, but Ashley was ashamed of herself for Stella's words.

(How feminine I am. What are you gonna do if I don't believe you? I didn't expect Stella to point that out...)

And I laughed,

"Oh, right. Indeed, Ray desperately tries to help anyone. I meant to understand that...... thanks. I almost became a bad woman."

That's what I said and lowered my head small.

Stella responds by lowering her gaze to it. But in Stella's mind, another emotion was swirling.

(I envy Master Ashley, who can show jealousy. But I can't go in between you two......)

Ashley was staring at Ray without realizing how Stella felt.

While continuing to pray to the gods, Elise was anxious to be near her limits herself.

(Magic is the limit... I can't do this any more...)

That's when I see Varma continuing to chant beside me.

(Varma was running out of magic. I have hardly recovered in that short time. And yet to save your son... I don't have time to be crying either. Because I'm the one who created the cause of this one. Even if I lost my life using all my magic, if I could save your son, I would...)

Once again, ready, she continues her sincere prayers.

(The Dark God (Noctis)! Please give my life. Save your son... he may not be worthy of my life... Your son has come to this because of my unknown. We are at your disposal for any punishment. Please save your son…)

Luna spoke slightly as to whether her prayers had passed to the gods. Ealis realizes it, but prays even harder without interrupting the prayer.

In her ears she had heard the Japanese words that Ray pronounced, but although she didn't know what it meant, she felt that Luna's recovery was hanging at this moment.

(Gods! Save your son, Luna! Our Moon Demons dedicate everything! ……

At that time, Elise's body began to glow slightly. The light is like a soft spring sun, and the cold cathedral warms up.

Its soft light wraps a ray kneeling beside Luna.

Ray is powered by the light and strengthens the voice calling Luna.

"Mr. Lunar Palace! Everybody's waiting for you! Come back here!

Varma, who continued to chant, was taking Luna's hand to be guided by the light. It was done unconsciously, not consciously.

"Your son. Please return…"

Ashley and the others also receive the light emitted by Elise.

The two of them were so wrapped in that warm light that they felt the power of the gods that even Stella, who had not lifted her guard, was about to kneel.

"There are gods. Now Luna will be back..."

Ashley knelt on the spot when she whined so, and began praying to the gods.

"Gods. Hear Ray's wish..."

Stella felt the power of the gods in the same way.

"I can feel it, too. Even to the likes of me abandoned by the gods... oh, you look like Ray..."

Stella's eyes showed Ray smiling. The smile was as sober as a saint, and she was kneeling unexpectedly.

And she also begins to pray to God to listen to his wishes.

The Unos and the Beastman slaves lurking even more in the shadow of the pillars were equally praying.

They prayed to God that even parents and children would be slaughtered and forsaken for a purpose.

The chanting voices of the priests become high all the time. They also feel the strong power of the gods and strengthen their prayers.

The diocese is full of divine power, whose power focuses on Luna.

But the light abruptly lost its power.

The purity that filled the cathedral turned into a darker, heavier atmosphere.

"What happened?," Ray mutters, "but the Ealis continued to pray. But their expressions are filled with unprecedented agony.

"No way, the god of nothingness, Vanitas, is... resurrected..."

Luna's expression had also changed from calm to full of bitterness.

"Mr. Lunar Palace!

Ray's cry echoed in the diocese.

■ ■ ■

Luna's soul was in a fluffy and floating sea. He hits it like a warm sun plunges in there on a spring day, giving himself up for soft warmth.

I call her from afar, I heard a gentle voice.

"Mr. Lunar Palace. Everyone's waiting. Come back soon...... '

That turns into a variety of voices.

At first it seemed like it belonged to a young man, but from the way along it became that of his mother who was in Japan, and even more so to the voice of a woman who had been kind to me like her sister in this world.

At the end of the day it turns into the voice she wants to hear the most.

'You've had enough rest. It's time to go home to everyone. This is not where you go home. It's our place...'

"Right. Even if I'm running away from here, it's just gonna annoy everyone."

When I squeal like that, I turn my consciousness up to rise.

But her consciousness never surfaced.

There was a pitch-black tentacle wrapped around her leg. And further down there were two red dots of light, like a vain eye. The light showed no emotion, but it had the power to give despair to the beholder.

"What? Let go! I'm leaving! Let go!"

I scream so desperately, but the pitch-black tentacles don't capture her and let her go. Like I say I finally caught you.

And her legs gradually erode into black.

"No!

Luna was feeling the fear of her feet turning into something else.

……

Even more from that vain eye she feels the will to follow herself, but she resists it.

"I don't obey you! I live by my will!

When she raises her mind, the color of her discolored legs begins to come back to normal. But there were no signs of tentacles leaving.

Fighting her tentacles enough in her physical time, but never left entangled.

Her legs never discoloured, but her floating space starts to stain black.

"Are you going to take me in on every single one of these worlds? What can I do... no weapons, no magic... what should I do..."

I'm going to give up if I can't do anything with no weapons and no magic.

That's when I suddenly remembered when I started learning magic.

"The magic of this world can be anything in an image. For example, if the sword of light remembers a movie I used to see, it can be put out easily for the price '

That's what the man who taught her magic said to make the orange sword of light appear.

(This is no ordinary space. If so, I might be able to use magic. That guy had said many times that the image mattered. I don't care if it's a movie or an animation, I think about it in my head...)

Luna imagines the sword of light shown by the man who taught her.

(I haven't seriously watched the movie, but I did it on TV a few times so I kind of get it...... there should be a sound of boom and a sword of light showing up. He always said it was orange and "I don't remember falling on the dark side." Plus, "If you want to put it out, keep it blue"... Humph. If I can remember this, I can't lose......)

Screaming like that in my heart creates a thin blue sword of light in my right hand.

"I got it!" and rejoice, and, as it were, slash the tentacles with that sword.

Without any resistance, that tentacle was severed and her body regained its freedom.

"Call me. I can beat you now."

With that said, extinguish the sword of light and make a brilliant baton appear. That was a magical tool I saw when I was a kid in a magical girl-girl animation.

"It's the same thing you bought me when I was little. Because magic can also be used..."

Furthermore, her figure also became the costume of the magical girl, slightly blushing.

"That's just how embarrassing this outfit is at this age," he mutters.

That's when she could afford to whine about that. I believed that I couldn't beat a demon to this extent right now.

"That's it, then!

With that said, he waved a great baton, releasing a band of seven colors of light into a pitch-black demon. The seven-colored band of light wraps up a pitch-black demon while scattering the star-shaped video effect "Effects".

Luna worried for a moment about saying the decision line, but she shook the baton silently, just ashamed of herself.

The demon-wrapped light shrinks for a moment and then explodes with a flashy light.

The darkness that was standing around her was disappearing at the same time.

"Now we have no more obstacles," he muttered, turning his face up.

At the end of her gaze is like a round, white hole, intuitive when that's the exit.

A sphere of light was floating in front of her as she tried to make her way to the exit.

For a moment, I thought it was the enemy, but its light had the warmth to envelop everything, contrary to its earlier pitch-black eyes.

"What can I do for you? I have to go home..."

The light sucked softly into her as she swayed to snort. Luna panicked about it but quickly regained her composure.

"What could it have been? I wonder if you've been empowered."

Though such a question arose, it soon surfaced towards the exit.

■ ■ ■

Ray was desperately holding Luna's hand and praying.

I thought the god of nothingness, Vanitas, had set something up in the suddenly changed atmosphere of the diocese, but I couldn't see the enemy and couldn't help it.

(I think I'm directly attacking Luna's spirit, how can I...)

The expression of Elise, who is praying, was bitter, and the voices of the priests, who continue to chant even more, were losing power.

Only Varma, who was taking the other hand, had a calm look on his face.

(Are you feeling something? I don't know...)

Though I think about that, I keep calling out that now I just have to encourage Luna.

After enough, I noticed that the heavy air was gradually clearing up. Luna's expression, which was even stiffer, also loosened softly, convinced that she beat Vanitas.

After another five minutes or so, Luna's eyes opened.

"Thank you, Saint Hijiri... thank you..."

Luna thanked Ray in Japanese.

Varma said in her voice, "Your son!," he said with joy, and Elise also found out that Luna had woken up.

"Noctis! Gods! Thank you!

The priests, who continued to chant around her, also had a relieved look on their faces, each saying a word of gratitude to God.

"Good day. Now rest slowly," he said and let go of Luna's hand.

And when he stands up slowly, he bows his head wide toward the Ealis.

"Lord Elise, Lord Varma, and all the clerics. Thank you. Thank you so much."

At his feet were traces of small droplets.
