Trinitas Mundus

Episode XII: The departure of Toa

The morning of April 12th.

The Rays gear up and leave Fort Toa.

Alberic and Ryan of the Mercenary Corps of Markat (Red Arms) will accompany the three Rays, Ashley and Stella, as well as the beast slaves Seyce and Nuebe.

Tortured Stella, but is fully recovered by Ray's healing magic and rest, riding the horse in good health as usual.

There was only one person who was not well.

That was Ryan.

Unlike the look he was trembling at the joy of hearing about Luna's safety yesterday, his eyes are falling and his expression is blurred.

Yesterday, as Alberic declared, all I could see beside me was a man desperate and grumpy about his life.

When Ray asked Ryan what had happened to that look, Alberic next door began to explain with a delightful look.

"Ryan, who lost his beloved woman, has volunteered to give me more rigorous training than usual to distract him from that loneliness. I was sympathetic to him as one of the same Red Arms guys, so I went out with him. I wonder if we dated for about fifteen hours since then yesterday. I think the date might have changed."

"Oh really..." Ray said, sympathetic to Ryan.

(Was this the operation to create a disgusting look... after fifteen hours of that special training of Mr. Alberic, it wouldn't be disgusting. And how is Mr. Alberic doing so well...)

Ashley says to Ryan, "You were unlucky," and pounds his arm.

Alberic continued to talk with even more pleasure.

"I told him why because he looked like a fort soldier cared along the way. And then they all took pity on him, and they acted on my behalf. The last one was for ten people, so it was spectacular..."

"I knew it was Brother Al..." he muttered as Ashley shook his head at the words.

Ray thinks he'll hear even stranger stories when he hears more, and listens to Alberic's light mouth. And I checked with Ryan to see if I could leave.

Lifting his face looked like a hundred million bucks, but Ryan said, "It's okay. I want to see Luna as soon as possible than that," he replied.

Ray waves and greets the soldiers at the gate as he crosses his beloved horse traveler.

Its beloved horse, but he was stubborn that he was left alone yesterday when he went to the stables, but Ray is completely in a good mood to take care of him by brushing and feeding him leaves.

And now he was shaking his head restless by being able to travel with his favorite husband.

"Well, shall we leave?"

"Right. But don't be alarmed. Not as dangerous as the mountains of Aquila or the eternal darkness (Kwaedam Tenebre), but the streets of Toa are also dangerous."

Ashley can look serious, Stella tightens her expression too.

The area around Fort Toa is at a high altitude and despite being in the middle of April, cold winds are blowing through.

Ray made sure to wrap his cape around his body before ordering his beloved horse to proceed.

Ray's gear had changed from the previous white monochrome to the black main body. For this reason, you never think of the alias white military master in appearance, but look like a young mercenary or adventurer everywhere.

The white horn (Albumcorne), which is just a brilliant spear, can be seen by those who see it is not just a mercenary thing, but the risk of what appears to resemble a holy knight was completely gone.

"How's the new armor? If there seems to be a problem with your movements, you can use your magic as a guard for the moment."

When Ashley said so, Ray gently turned his arm and then replied, "It's okay,"

"I'm going to get used to it one by one. For the time being, I have to spend it in this armor."

"Right. Do you train when you enter the inn? I haven't had a chance to train in the last few days, but it's time to put it back the same way it was before"

Stella joined the conversation,

"Right. You have to be careful not to blunt your body because there are few demons in Als Street, and you will be safer in the Empire."

Though she said so, she was relieved in her heart that she had finally put her in the safe west.

(This is okay for the time being. Thor Street is dangerous, but with Mr. Seyce and the others, you wouldn't be in danger of being ambushed by bandits and demons. After that, you just have to think about the god of nothingness (Vanitas)...)

Stella was also thinking about Ryan behind her.

(This guy has changed. I have lifted my arms a lot in this short period of time. I'm talking about it because you've given Mr. Alberic and the others special training, but I'm trying harder than that. So much about Luna......)

The Ryan is riding because of his fatigue and feels stuck on his horse.

He was putting Luna's Japanese bow on his back. The soldiers have heard that it is the shape of the woman they love, so much so that many have come to inspire them when they leave.

He heard he would see Luna tomorrow evening, and on the other hand, he was happy, anxious, too.

(I can finally see him... five months after I got off guard and they took him away. Talk about the demonic queen, but I wonder what's going on. Ray's guy said he hasn't changed, but is he really...)

Such they proceeded well down the street and finished day one.

Around that time, Luna was lurking in the woods west of Toa, near the accomodation town of Taruerzig.

After breaking up with the Rays on April 7th, together with Ione, the healer, he traveled about fifty km (Kimmel) through the woods, protected by the three beast slaves Uno, Ocho and Diez, but not even the beast path.

He was attacked many times by dangerous demons on the move, but the Unos have a great fighting power and even defeated the third-degree equivalent of Salamander.

And I finally got to the land yesterday.

What they lurked in was about two hundred m (melt) from the street into the woods, a place like a small valley with beautiful streams flowing through it. A large rock can stick out like a hiccup, overtake the rain dew, and from the streets it is a dead end, so it can also set fire to it.

(We should be able to rendezvous after tomorrow on schedule, but we may not be able to leave the fort easily. If that happens, I'll be here for days. I don't have a problem with my health at the moment, but it's a waste of time waiting for you to do nothing)

Luna decided to wait for the Rays, learning magic from Ione.

Uno spoke to Luna, who was practicing magic around 3 p.m. on April 13.

"Master Arklight and the others have arrived. Prepare to leave immediately."

"Okay. And it was quick," he says, taking the luggage on his shoulder.

Ione also takes charge of the luggage and holds a wooden stick.

"You're making my orb after you get into town. I hope it works..."

She is the people of Sochius, the land of demons. For this reason, the only magic item that serves as an ID, the Orb, is also Sochius'. This time, she is supposed to play the one who was caught by the demons but managed to escape, explaining that Orb lost it on the way out.

I plan to create a new orb in the Adventurer Guild but was anxious about that.

"It's okay. Because Ray would do something about it."

I follow Uno as I say so.

The commander of Fort Toa, Viscount Benjamin Plummer, lost the trust of his men. For this reason, a number of reports have been sent to Ars, the king's capital, early in the horse, about his passive attitude and some breach of orders.

Moreover, the trouble with the mercenaries of the Marcut Mercenaries Corps (Red Arms), the white warrior Ray Arklight, was a problem that could not be overestimated given his relationship with the Kingdom of Lax and the city of Periclitle.

He sent a report to the Royal Government of Plummer's failure to clear his grudges when a knight who had eaten a cautious disposition as a torturer.

Until now, all the reports inconvenient to him had been squashed because his knight the keeper had managed the report in bulk, but it became rumoured that he had tried to impersonate his men with responsibility, and the knights had also turned a blind eye to him. For this reason, the early horse was acquiesced.

There were rumours that plummers would be changed most of the time before that, and many had measured the timing of where to discern them.

April 17th. The report arrived in Ars, the king's capital. Having received the report from a civilian, Queen Katrina immediately looks to King Albert XI and condemns Plummer.

"Commander's neglect is obvious. If we leave it like this, the invasion of the Demon Nation in Pericritle could be the demerit of our Kaum kingdom. In that case, there will be talk of compensation. We must respond as soon as possible."

The Queen had always thought that Plummer was a passive character and not fit to be the commander of Fort Toa, which was a national defence imperative. Furthermore, he was involved in the House of the Duke of Norrish and someone who wanted to eliminate meritocracy for her.

But lucky for Plummer, there was no attack on Fort Toa by the Demons, and he never made the kind of mistake that would be alternated. Also, at normal times, I could not force myself to change as queen because I had shown considerable competence as an organisational operator and all the unfavourable information was gripping.

The Queen took this opportunity to renew the system of Fort Toa.

In contrast, the King tried to retreat from the Queen's proposal in a passive manner as usual. The Queen's intervention in national politics has all been successful in terms of results, but that will highlight the king's incompetence, which he obstructs the Queen's intervention every once in a while.

"It would be unpleasant to replace a commander at a time when a demonic invasion is possible. I don't know if I'm going to leave, but I can't change the compensation story."

"So you're saying you can do it the way it is."

That's what the queen says and stares quietly at the king. And start talking before the king snorts.

"This Periclitle invasion revealed that there is a route to invade without going through Toa. The brave mercenaries have also revealed the terrain near Toa. You still say you can't get hit."

The king shuts his mouth in pursuit of the queen. The conversation went on so as to make it even more difficult.

"The mercenary is a hero who saved the Kingdom of Lax. I mean, if you go back to your country, you're likely to meet with kings and knighthood chiefs in the Kingdom of Lax. In that case, there will always be this story. You should strike your hand right now."

"But then isn't it the same if you hit your hand now? Conversely, a change of command would have led to an admission of no."

"I've been thinking about that. If you publicly announced that you were planning to wait for the snowmelt to conduct a massive reconnaissance, it wouldn't be strange. Because everyone knows how tough Aquila is."

The Queen's idea was informed in the middle of the winter, but now is the time because we had to wait for the snowmelt to get the scouts out and were preparing for it. In fact, even the most talented mercenary regiment in the Kingdom of Lax, the Red Arms, is struggling in its midwinter march, and the harshness of Aquila in winter has become common sense.

"If we replace the commander now and send a reconnaissance team to Aquila, our country's failures can be confusing. Make your decision."

That's what I was forced to say, and the king had to snort too.

The queen was around ready, not only had she already decided on a candidate, but had also prepared her for immediate departure. For this reason, the day after the King's leave, the new commander has left Ars.

In May, Viscount Benjamin Plummer was recalled by Ars.

And look at the queen.

"You have done the kingdom a disservice by your inaction. If you have an explanation for this, let's hear it."

Plummer scratches a cold sweat but answers in a low voice to look calm.

"I am not convinced that the junior has been relieved of his command. During the period when the elementary office was in command, the Demons never damaged the kingdom through the Toa. This fact is the proof that the junior officer has performed his duties as commander. I don't know what your Highness refers to as inaction."

The queen laughed coldly at the words, "I thought you said so,"

"I won't admit it as a kingdom, but the city of Periclitle is responsible for the raid on Fort Toa. A bunch of orcs suspected of being led by the Middle-Ghost clan were twice passing through a loophole near Toa. Despite the many warnings you have made about this, you have failed in your efforts to find a way out of it. The result was a massive invasion of the city of Periclitle, which caused the damage of disappearing a quarter of the city. If this fact were known to the city of Periclitle, our country would be charged with substantial compensation. Still insist that it hasn't done any harm to the kingdom yet?

Plummer lost the word to return to the Queen. In fact, if he had dealt with it properly, he would have found a way out near Fort Toa and handled it properly. At least we could have prevented the demonic army from invading without warning.

"The Viscount Plummer family will be descended to the Baron family. Subject, of course, to your departure from our Lord's seat. If you don't obey... you don't have to say any more."

To put it that way, the Queen ordered a civilian to cut up a glimpse with Plummer.

Plummer was forced out of the room so that he could pull it off.

The reform of the Royal Kaum Army was then pushed forward once and for all.

Viscount Rosingrave, the Queen's brother, will take office as the Knights Commander of the Black Steel Knights against the Regular Army, and reform will be carried out as ordered by the Queen. Opposing voices were voiced from the conservatives that they were beside their relatives, but they were excluded from the center of state politics, including those.
