Trinitas Mundus

Episode Thirty: A Sense of War

Through the city of Ezarrington's checkpoint, he finished crossing the bridge.

The city of Ezarrington is a fortified city using the middle state of the Fannell River, an elliptical city five kilometers east and west (Kimmel) and three kilometers north and south (Kimmel).

The western side of the city is a commercial district that includes housing, and the eastern side is broken down by office and military facilities and functions.

Although the Rays finished crossing the bridge, they can't get into the city right away.

As the city of Ezarrington enters from the north side, it will proceed between four floors above ground like a castle wall.

This is because it is a facility for intercepting enemies who have been taking bridges and breaking in.

Through the walled part, there was a large square. It's where the army meets when it comes out, but is it usually open to citizens, and now there are many stalls lined up.

Here we go down the horse and on foot to the commercial district where the inn is located.

There were many heavily built buildings on the east side, but shops and collective homes lined the west, characterised by brightly colored roofs such as oranges and yellows that seemed to be commercial districts.

"Where do you want the inn?" Ray asks Luna.

"I've stayed at a castle and a fine hotel... so I'm thinking of hearing it in my blacksmith's guild"

"That would be good. You can ask in the Adventurer Guild or the Mercenary Guild, but it's going to take a while for a city like Ezarrington to just talk to the receptionist."

As Ashley's opinion was not disputed, head straight to the branch of the Blacksmith Guild.

The branch was a blacksmith guild-like and heavy building with many people in and out.

"Is there something there? I feel more people than usual," Luna mutters.

Still, the handover is only here. As he had not yet deposited his horse, three men, Luna, Ray and Ione, were to enter the blacksmith's guild to listen.

Once inside, there were many knights and soldiers there, talking to officials not only at tables like meeting spaces, but also at reception counters.

"Looks like you should line up," Ray said, nodding Luna and Ione, too, lining up where appropriate.

One male employee was uncomfortable with the appearance of two women and mercenaries who wouldn't even take off their capes indoors.

The official was a relatively veteran, had worked as a banquet staff with the Lockhart family and somehow remembered the brunette girl.

"Maybe you're not from the Lockhart family?

"Yeah, my name is Luna Lockhart," the official replies, instantly bowing his head wide.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. Branch manager's office, please."

Ray had predicted from his response at Ars, but suddenly he felt baffled that he would be taken to the chief officer's room. For this reason, gently poke Luna's elbow and make her turn her consciousness.

"Shouldn't you just introduce me to the inn now and come back later?

Luna also understood his intentions,

"I have company outside. If possible, I'd like you to introduce me to the inn. Of course, I will come to greet you later."

Officials say, "OK," and introduce a single inn. It was for the blacksmith's guild, very close to the branch.

The Rays entered the Inn where they were introduced at the Ezarrington branch of the Blacksmith Guild.

It's a good place to say a minute's walk from the branch and right in front of you, and I'm surprised at its proximity, but even if I get drunk, I can laugh zero that it's easy to get home.

(Is it this place assuming that? Well, I guess Dwarves won't crumble at a banquet, but I guess that's a consideration because the people you drink with will crumble...)

He banquets with the blacksmiths at the general headquarters of Ars and at the El Dredd branch, but he didn't understand the Dwarves.

The Dwarves do not have a feast with anyone but their likes, and it is very rare for an outsider, a human, to join the feast. For this reason, officials have chosen not to take the same considerations as he had thought, but simply because there was a good inn nearby.

When I left my horse and removed my gear, I headed straight for the guild.

"With that said, we're adventurers and mercenaries," Ray says, tilting Ashley's neck, "Oh, my God, from a" to a "stick."

"Because ever since you entered the empire, you haven't been to either guild to gather information. I felt more familiar with the blacksmith's guild."

"You sure do. Far free to the mercenary guild branch and then enough to purchase information at the inn. Thinking about it, I feel so facetious that it's not weird to be part of a blacksmith's guild from Ars"

Answering that with laughter, Luna has joined the story.

"I used to travel around the empire, but it was even more amazing then. I was surrounded by Dwarves in the other cities, and it was just a banquet."

Listening to that, Ryan was thinking of something else.

(Luna is still a nobleman. I don't live in the same world as I do... I want to split up, but I really think about it...)

Arrive at the guild immediately.

A lot of people were still in and out, though somewhat fewer than when they came about an hour ago.

"I wonder what's going on," Ray says.

"Perhaps, but the war is near. It's before the battle and the market that keeps the blacksmiths busy."

"I think Mr. Ashley is right. I feel like I've seen it, because there are many knights with the Fourth Legion badge, and a lot of mercenaries mixed up. So, the war with Luke."

As soon as I entered the hall with the reception, the staff flew in.

"I've been waiting for you"

That's what I say and I bow my head big.

Ray, Ashley, Stella, Ryan and Ione lead the way. The Unos Beastman slaves had disappeared as usual.

When I was led to the branch manager's office, Dwarves were waiting there.

"Well done for coming! I heard you were alone this time."

Luna smiled bitterly at the words,

"I'm not alone, Mr. Ivan. These people are my people now."

Dwarf, called Ivan, bowed his head, "Sorry, sorry,"

"Lockhart is special to Nong et al. That's what I said."

"It's okay. I don't think everyone cares, either, do they, Ray?

"Yeah, I don't care," Ray replies with a smile.

"What are you talking about? We're going to the assembly room. You should be ready by now."

Without introducing herself, Ray spills a laugh at going to the banquet.

(I knew Dwarf was with me everywhere. Anyway, I have to introduce myself in the ballroom, so I hope it's only one time...)

Then we go to the assembly room, but there were more than a hundred dwarves waiting there.

"Well done!," "You look fine and above all!" The voice hangs. Luna responds with a smile by saying "thank you" to it and takes the seat recommended by the official.

The banquet begins as usual, and after the toast, an introduction takes place.

Here again, I am surprised by the name of Ray's “White Army Master” and by Ashley, Hamish Markat's only daughter.

"My new buddies aren't big guys either. That's Luna."

Ray is always grinning at the way things are unfolding.

The banquet proceeded in a soothing atmosphere.

When she had settled somewhat, Luna asked Ivan, the branch manager, about the situation in Ezarrington.

"I felt there were more people here than before, but is it still war with Lukes?

"I don't know. It seems we haven't decided if the Fourth Corps will be out yet, but it seems that the three Corps will be headed to Lark Hill."

Ashley can't hide her surprise at the size of it.

"Three legions..."

One legion of the Imperial Army has a quorum of 20,000. Rear support units are not included in this. There will be a large army of 60,000 soldiers.

And half of the Regular Corps will be cavalry, and thirty thousand cavalry will be put in. The only country with this many cavalry is the Caerm Empire, whose offensive power is immense.

Ashley herself had never fought an Imperial Regular Corps, but had heard of the strength of the Imperial Cavalry from his father Hamish, who had the experience to fight, and that surprised him.

"Sounds like it's been a long time. Apparently Luke will put in all the power he can mobilize. It's just a rumor, but there's also talk of 200,000..."

Luke's Holy Kingdom has a total population of about three million. With the adoption of a national military system, it is said that the mobilizable force is about 300,000 of about ten percent of the total population. Because we're about to put in two-thirds of that mobilizable force, it's a good size to say all armies.

"Are you okay with 60,000 for 200,000 people?" Ray asked.

"Non is also an amateur about the war. Don't you know Ashley or you better?"

That's what they say. I see Ashley's face.

"As you know, Luke's soldiers are dominated by peasant militias. I only have poor gear, and 200,000 can't fight at once. With 30,000 cavalry, it won't be hard to destroy."

She's right, the subject of Luke's Holy King's Army is the peasant militia. There are only crude spears and leather armor, and they are not properly trained. Morale is also low due to the fact that they are being forced to mobilize even more.

The Imperial Army, on the other hand, consists solely of professional servicemen, highly morale, highly skilled and well equipped.

"Fighting on the flat will determine victory in a day. The only problem is the quality of the commander."

The Imperial Army is powerful, but the quality of its commanders is low. Troops led by senior nobles in particular also had low morale among the soldiers and were even defeated by an equal number of peasant militias.

So much so that Luke has continued his war with the superpower Kaelm Empire and is said to owe it to his poorly fought commander to survive.

In fact, the Empire has never occupied a large town while also having an overwhelming military power in its war with the Kingdom of Lax.

Ashley asked Ivan, "Is there any rumor about when the war will start?"

"You're not listening. There seems to be some disturbing movement in Luke's country, but we don't know..."

Ivan's story says the Aurelia merchants told him there was a disturbing move at Luke's, and the imperial government is sending in the interstate to take its backing, too, but they have little information on whether they are being held back by the Beast Slave Troops.

"With Aurelia's merchants involved, His Excellency the Chancellor seems incredible. If they want money, they can lie."

"Is it also because of the harsh interrogation?" Luna asked.

"Bye. Just rumors, but it seems Luke's Beast Slave Squad is trying to infiltrate the refugees mixed up. That's why I'm sore."

In the Duke of Ezarrington territory, he actively hosts the refugees of the Beasts who fled Lukes. It was also necessary to pass through the city of Ezarrington because the recipient was south of the Fatas River. Furthermore, many of the refugees did not have orbs and were distressed by the response at the checkpoint.

"Well, it's just a rumor. No matter how many disgraced they are, they can't get this far. Unless you use a ship."

"Does that mean the port is tougher?

"Right. The merchants who carry the ingredients of the Nong must have left them alone."

As Ray listened to the story, he thought it would be harder than he thought to travel to Jilsor.

(It is certainly more realistic to infiltrate using a ship. So you should be able to rigorously check in and out of the harbor. Especially the Beast Man...... then the Unos wearing slave collars are even hard to get on the ship......)

With that in mind, a Dwarf blacksmith said, "What are you looking so hard at! He says," I get my back stuck.

"Alcohol is fun to drink! Somebody get Ray some new booze!

Ignore Ray, who is rounding his eyes, and an official brings a new jock.

"It's a white wine from Ezarrington. Go ahead."

"Are you drinking wine on a jock? Though I said," Even Ars remembered drinking on a jock, giving up and receiving it.

"Drink with Ezarrington's famous fried Hata! This guy is fantastic!

That's what I said. I handed him a plate with fries on it.

When you eat with plenty of tartar sauce, you can't help but say, "This is delicious!," he said.

"That's right! You can't say you came to Ezzarington without eating this! Gahahahaha!"

I get caught laughing lavishly and I snap a jock all at once.

Later, as usual, Ray and Ryan were to suffer from hangovers.
