Episode 49: To the Temple of Claretore

June 8.

Yesterday, the Rays arrived in Jilsol and met Kitty Erbain, a researcher from the academic city of Doctus. And succeed in getting her cooperation, a leader in research on God.

Last night I revealed Luna's secrets to Kittry, so I didn't get to the point of telling her a specific story. For that reason, today, we were to work out a specific plan for heading to the Temple of Claretore.

After breakfast, we assembled again at the inn where Luna and the others were staying. The Unos are joining us today, and Kittry is baffled by the combination of Ray's Saint Knight-like gear and beastly slavery.

"Are you sure you want to get ready for information and departure today," Ray confirms to everyone, including Kitley.

"Before then, I wonder. I'm worried about your gear and your beasts."

So Ray honestly tells us that it was Periclitle.

"It will be longer if we talk, but the Unos here, as Mr. Kitley thinks, are from the Beastly Slave Troops of Luke's Holy Kingdom. But I am not a holy knight..."

When she finishes her explanation in enough time, Kittry looks at Luna with a frightened look on her face.

"Zach, you were insane, too, but you haven't lost either. I wonder how I can be one of these people... well fine. There's no such thing as a holy knight with such a low back, Ray, I don't think you're lying..."

So loosen your expression and look at Ray.

"And I can't believe you're a magician of all attributes too... the world is narrow. I wish I could have seen you while you were alive with all the attributes, but the other two, no, Luna had all the attributes too, so you'd have met the three of them."

Ray turns back where Kitley is convinced.

"As we leave tomorrow, I hear more from Mr. Kitley in the morning, and he says he's going to make a plan, and he's going to be ready in the afternoon, okay?"

I hear a yes from all of them.

"Well, I'll explain it to you. First of all, it's the Temple of Creatore, but it's in a mountain about 70 km (Kimmel) east of here. There are about fifty priests living in the temple, and there is a small village nearby called the village of Natalis. That's why there's always a way to carry supplies..."

According to Kittry's description, the Temple of Creatore has a village of Natalis inhabited by fifty clerics and those who support their lives. That village is inhabited by about two hundred devout followers of the Creator Clairtore, and a path has been developed once and for all that allows passage.

However, since it was not originally the subject of faith, it is a closed place with very little to go to worship. Explain that there are no inns or shops and that the roads are to the extent that hairs have grown on the beast roads because there are travelers who go to sell household goods several times a year.

Because too few people come and go for good information, bandits don't show up, which means they're very safe.

"... It's a temple, but basically, you can't have outsiders in it. In my case, the researcher and Zach, you broke a lot of bones, so I started putting in... I can always talk to a cleric, but the chief cleric doesn't show up for a month or so when he goes into meditation, so be prepared to not see him as soon as he's unlucky"

So I took a glimpse of Luna, and then added, "Zach, unless you're ready for something," he said.

"Here's the thing, do you have any questions?

Ashley raises her hand and asks questions.

"It means there's less danger on the road, but can we get there overnight"

"Right. Horses will suffice for one night. Well, I hope the weather doesn't break down."

"Is the weather around here unstable?" he says. Because there have been no major weather breakdowns since landing on Gilsor Island.

"Yeah, it's terrible in a storm. I don't think you've noticed because you haven't seen much of the town, but all the houses in this town are short and have a solid roof. Besides, even though the glass industry sells it, there are very few glass windows. Because it cracks during a storm. There's going to be a storm that bad timing, and it's going to be terrible."

When Ashley is convinced to say "I see," Ray next asks the question.

"As far as listening, the village feels closed, to what extent? How does it feel to be exclusive or aggressive?

Kittry tilted her little neck,

"I wonder if it's exclusive. At least not aggressively. All the serenity, including the villagers."

"Do you know what it's like to discriminate against beasts or what it's like to be a slave?

Ray was concerned about Stella and the Unos. Because when it comes to religion, Luke's Light Divinity comes to mind first.

"There's no discrimination against beasts. In other words, it was only during this time that the people of the village were in the Beast Man. Zach said your wife Beatrice was the first. But I'm fine because I handled it normally. You honestly don't know anything about slavery. Instead of the village, there shouldn't be a single slave on this whole island."

Be first relieved by the word that there is no discrimination against beasts.

Ray switches to questions to make a plan.

"Kind of essential, I'd like to ask you about the temple."

"What could it be?

"I know that Claire Toll is a god of creation, but unlike the other gods, I don't feel very much subject to faith. There are many people who believe in the Three Lord God and the Eight Class God, and there are many temples, but isn't it enough that the Temple of Creatore is in a big town or not? It feels almost like there are no people there, and I wonder what it feels like..."

"That's a tough question," Kitty said, putting aside a few moments.

"Claire Toll will hit every Mother of God. But it doesn't make you feel motherly like the god of man (Wita), nor is it a rich god like the god of wood (Albor). The clerics will also talk about thanking Claire Tor, the beginning of it all, but I won't be more specific than that. This has something to do with my research, but it's very special..."

It's about your own research subject, and it gets more rap than usual.

Except for Ray and Luna, I couldn't keep up with Kitty's story, to the extent that those two also managed to understand it thanks to various myths I learned when I was in Japan.

(Is it like Isanagi and Isanami in Japanese mythology? I'm not sure around here, but somehow it feels minor compared to Amateras and Susanoo...)

Kittry's explanation goes on and on, and Ray and Luna won't be able to keep up with their understanding either.

"… that the Creator God (Creatore) and the Nothingness God (Vanitas) begin and end, that is to say, the God who will be paired. It would mean that the other eleven pillars of God make up the world. So I don't know if Creatol is interested in this world. You might want to ask the chief cleric around here."

"Thank you," Ray replies, but regretted asking questions that should not be asked to researchers on the length of that explanation.

"Can I ask you a question from me," Kittry says and sees Luna.

When Luna nods,

"I'm talking about going to the temple and you'll know what it is, but what exactly can't you imagine? If you have something on your mind, I'd like you to tell me."

"I can't think of any. I just mean it involves the survival of the world...... I was wondering if maybe you could teach me the means to counter Vanitas. But I'm not sure it fits at all."

"Really..." Then Kittry stared into Luna's eyes,

"But what do you do when you know the means to counter Vanitas? They are gods who end the world. In other words, more powerful than the eleven gods that make the world survive. Are you going to stand up to someone like that?

Luna took that gaze firmly,

"I'm going to. Many people are already caught up in the battle of the gods because of my birth. If I run away here, I think more people will be unhappy. Until now I have been running away. But I'm not running away this time. Whatever happens..."

"I'm going to support her, too. Not just me, but my people here, and my people not here."

Ray declares with determination. When Ashley, Stella, Ryan and Ione proclaimed the same, Kittry looked around everyone and then smiled, "Okay."

Then we talked about concrete preparations, and the morning discussion ended.

"I want you to go buy it out after lunch, but I want Luna to stay"

I don't know why, Luna tilts her neck.

"You can use all attributes, too, right? Ray, I hope you can use storage magic, but I think you should be able to use it too. I can't use it, but I know the theory for once, and I'm actually hearing the image from you, Zach, so I think I can teach you."

"Luna would also be helpful if storage magic could be used. My storage magic (item box) is handy, but it has a small capacity."

It will be the afternoon and everyone but Luna and Kittry will head out to buy it out. Since there is no inn in the temple, an empty house will be rented in the village of Natalis to self-cater. It was also decided that we should take our share because the village is relatively rich but will not be visited by more than ten travellers.

"We need food and cookware, bedding, but the bedding would be sufficient with a blanket. Cookware is fine if you add a little to what you have now. How much food do we prepare, Ray, but what's your point?

"Right. I think I should have about half a month."

Ryan speaks the question.

"Isn't that a lot? Mr. Kitley said it might take a month or so just to see him."

"Right. If it's going to take a long time, someone can come and buy it out to Jill Sole. It's more efficient to carry empty horses than to carry many things at once."

"Right," Ryan and Ashley nod in his opinion.

We then make the buyout in the town of Gilsall, but the town, which is bigger than Renecrates, quickly bought all the supplies we needed.

Returning to the inn, Kittry was coaching Luna.

"What do you say? Do you think you can use it?" and Ray speaks.

"It's hard. But if I manage to do just one thing, I think I can use it. I just can't have infinite storage."

She tried to recreate the storage magic (inventory) Zacharias had been using, but she couldn't imagine how to create a stacked storage area and struggled. But if it's just one thing, I can manage to imagine it, and I can secure almost the same amount of storage as Ray's item box.

"And that's amazing. I can't believe it didn't take half a day to remember."

"The way you image it is easy to crack. But unlike yours, you don't get a name, do you? It's not going to be a problem because it's not going to be that many."

I was able to put in the supplies I needed for Ray and Luna's storage magic, but I didn't make any additional purchases.

Ione asks, "Can I buy some more?"

"Even if it's not dangerous, in our case, it's better to be as light as possible because they're with us."

Ione was also convinced of Ray's answer, and he was ready to leave.

June 9.

There is no sign of the storm Kittry worried about, and the clear blue sky is spreading.

The Rays set out for the temple of beginnings, the Temple of Creatore, under the blue skies of the South.
