Trinitas Mundus

Episode 67: The Tale of Theophilus

August 15th.

The Rays had proceeded north on the central street through the prairie to reach Netherton in about two hours.

A group of the Humane Horse (Centaur) tribe suddenly appeared as they were eating lunch with a break.

The Humans and Horses name themselves the Sorels, and the chief Leeva Sorel offers Ray a serious battle.

Hamish Markat rebelled against the abrupt demands, and a flash of dangerous air overshadowed between the Sorels and the Markat Mercenaries (Red Arms).

Suddenly there, two young men appeared.

Those young men are twins named Theophilus and Seraphine of the Lockhart family, who make them avoid clashes between the Red Arms and the Sorel tribe.

Theo proposed to calm down and talk, and there would be a place for discussion between Hamish and Leeva.

The Sorel side has two Leeva and Giant Han warriors.

The Red Arms side will be attended by Hamish and his deputy Alberic, Captain of the Fifth Squad and Hamish's wife Valeria.

Ray, who is also a party, sits alongside Ashley and Stella, side by side with the Hamish. Nearby stood the Unos of the Beastman Slave Troops inconspicuously.

Theo and Serra of the Lockhart family and Luna sit as arbiters between the Sorels and the Rays.

Behind it were Theo's companions, Eunice Jakes, Lyle Marron and Robina Vassel, and more of Ryan and Ione standing to protect Luna.

Everyone sat down and Theo started talking.

"First, I'll tell you about my brother Zacharias. It was about three months ago. My brother visited the Sorels and came to this meadow. The reason is to stop the war between empire and holy kingdom with minimal damage…"

Around the middle of May, Zacharias considered the war between the Empire and the Holy King Luke to be inevitable and came up with a way to let the Humans and Nomads intervene in the war.

If we knew there was an overwhelming difference in power, the Holy King's side would not be forced to cross the border either, and we thought that pointless killing would be avoided if we captured the Holy King's commander alive with the manoeuvre of the Horse Race, even if we did not raise him or her.

So to make that request, we look for the Sorel tribe, which is on edge with the Lockhart family, and succeed in finding them in a few days.

At that time, the Sorels had five Theos who had come to train in riding combat. The Lockhart family brothers had an unexpected reunion.

Theo and the others were liked by the Sorels, and although they even admitted to listening to Zacharias, Leeva was not willing to take that request.

But I changed my attitude in one word.

"... I told him that there should come a warrior called the" White Master ”whose brother put together pure white armor. That one word changed Mr. Leeva's attitude..."

So Theo sees Leeva's face.

"He says it's a top secret story that can only be told to a very small part of the Humane Horse tribe from here, so I'm not sure either. But I was only taught that the legacy passed down to the Humans and Horses had something to do with people in common with the" White Army Master ”. If the white warrior is the same person who appears in the inheritance, the Horse and Humanity follow him, Mr. Leeva told his brother…"

"Is it a legacy?" Ray shrugs, but Theo nods small at it and keeps talking.

"My brother said that if he were a white military master, or Mr. Ray Arklight, he would try to stop the war, or try to get rid of only the fanatics of Light God and help the peasant militias. So we made no further negotiations and left the meadow…"

So I set my gaze on Luna,

"My brother didn't seem sure about Luna being with me either, but I think he was talking about it somehow..."

"How did you know......" Ray mutters again.

(How come you've never seen him before? And about Luna... did the gods tell my story?

Theo laughs nicely at his doubts.

"Honestly, my brother is too awesome for me to understand," he replied, clapping his shoulders, continuing to talk further.

"The rest also told me that everyone in the Mercenary Corps of Markat (Red Arms) could be here. Because of that, Serra (my sister) ran wild, but I'm glad it turned out."

"Runaway... I didn't run off!" and Serra pointed her mouth.

Hamish smiles at the trick. But immediately put it back to a serious look,

"You said we were coming here, Lord Zacharias. I haven't heard anything like that in Ars."

Hamish was meeting Zacharias in Ars, king's capital of the Kingdom of Kaum.

"I didn't say it clearly, but my brother seemed to wonder if Mr. Hamish was going to help the Rays. And sure to rendezvous soon...... but my brother is a very cautious man. I think you were afraid that your words would change the behavior of Ray and Hamish."

"Even if you know that much, you think about that," Alberic says.

"Yeah, that guy is a lot to think about," Luna replies with a serious look.

"To return, if the person who appears in the legacy of the Humans and Horses is Mr. Ray, it is possible to stop the war between the Empire and Lukes. Because that person can unconditionally borrow the power of all humans and horses and nomads. You can understand what this means."

Although that's what they say, Ray doesn't understand one thing right now.

I have heard from Luna, and I know that there are as many as 50,000 human horses and as many as 100,000 and as many as 200,000 nomads for knowledge. But I was wondering if I could counter more than 200,000 armies of the Holy King and regular legions of empires.

"All Humans and Horses and Nomads... Isn't it even possible to get the world..."

Hamish groans so with a frightened face. Likewise, Alberic's expression had disappeared, and Valeria had her mouth open with a pocan.

"Are you that awesome?," Ray asked,

"I just heard in an old story, too, that 10,000 Humans and Horses easily kicked 50,000 Imperial Regular Armies at their peak. If that's true, two hundred thousand or a million, such as Luke's peasant militia, won't be the target. In the field, we can call it the most powerful army in the world."

Open your mouth as Ray shuddered at the words.

"The strongest army in the world......"

So Theo goes on to talk again.

"Mr. Leeva said it was a rendezvous, just to make sure it was someone from that heirloom. They call it the ritual of trial."

"Are you saying that's a serious battle? But we're not going to talk to Lord Leeva and our Ray there. I haven't seen you fight, but it's about me and Al and Gareth who can fight properly in the Red Arms. Even Zenga, Lasalles, and Elias will have heavy loads."

Captain Zenga Ormiga of 2nd Squad is a level 70 Harvard user. He is such a fierce slayer that he slaps and slashes the Auga with one blow with a powerful slaughter like a Bear Beast Man.

Lazareth Dawell, captain of the third squad, is a double-swordsman over level seventy, flirting with opponents in an anomalous move and a nasty opponent for first-sighters.

Elias Nifer is the captain of Squad Four, specialized in cavalry, famous for his riding spears, and boasts unparalleled strength in the flat.

All of them told the Red Arms they had the man, but Hamish said it would be difficult for them to win.

Ray flashes at the words. I've worked with those three many times in training, but it was hard to win or even get attacked.

"To Mr. Zenga, Mr. Lazareth, and Mr. Elias. But... I don't feel I can beat you by using magic. I mean, I don't feel like I can live..."

Ray's magician level is forty-five. Unusually high for a nineteen-year-old, but not even at the feet of the Zengas.

If you're good at magic, the light attribute approaches level 70, and you're a higher-ranking magician than the court magic master, but magic takes time to activate, so a single hit on a human horse opponent that beats maneuverability is too bad of a minute.

"So, Lord Theophilus, what happens if Ray takes the test of Lord Leeva?

Ask Theo as Hamish stares at Leeva.

"Theo is fine. I'm still in training, and I didn't make anything out of it like my brothers."

That's what I say and laugh at, but I immediately switch to a serious look.

"I don't know much about it either, but for the Humans, they've been waiting for more than two thousand years. I don't think I can avoid it."

So Leeva says, "That's right,"

"We waited two thousand years. If we can't try it here, we can't face our fellow countrymen and our ancestors."

The two warriors beside Leeva also nod loudly.

"Is it just a serious battle? For example, if you admit to losing, you can end up on the spot..."

When Ray asks, Leeva shakes her head small to the side.

"There is only success or death in the inheritance that is passed down to us. I mean, if you fail, you die."

Reyva's eyes seemed sharp and glowing to Ray.

Ashley leaves forward to stare at Leeva and shelter Ray.

"Then you can't let him take it. Ray also has things to do. Something you have to do for this world."

to go along with it. Stella moved forward the same way,

"Master Ray is the hope of all people. You can't make dangerous bets in a place like this!

So I move my left hand small. He gave instructions to the Unos with a code to be passed on to the Beast Slave Squad.

Uno sees it and gives instructions to his men to stir up the Sorel squad watching it faraway.

"Don't move!" One drink of Leeva stops the Seyce and the others who were trying to get around.

Hamish's hips float in those sharp words.

Seeing the air, Theo says, "I have a suggestion for Mr. Leeva" to calm the place down.

"It's a life-threatening trial, so you should increase your time to think. Why don't you wait till sundown"

Leeva immediately said, "Okay. Now wait till sunset," he answered, getting up and starting to walk towards the main unit of the Sorel tribe.

"I knew this was going to happen," Theo said as he looked afterwards, reverting to his usual tone, sighing loudly.

"What's this all about?," Hamish asked,

"Usually Mr. Leeva is a calmer person. But I didn't have the ear to listen to this story at all... I stopped, but I ambushed you all on my own..."

After I say that much, I turn my face to Ray.

"Let me give Mr. Ray only one piece of advice."

"Yes," Ray nods.

"You should take a try. If you're going to stop the war with your life, it's the same if you risk your life here. No, I think it's a better bet here."

"Minutes is a good bet? I don't think so."

"Think carefully. Indeed, there are many of you in the Mercenary Corps of Markat (Red Arms) with a thousand of them. But nothing can be done by just a hundred men to stop tens of thousands of Imperial Armies and hundreds of thousands of Holy King Armies..."

Not only Ray in that word, but Hamish and the others will have the same look that scratched the bitter bug.

"But if the trial succeeds, as I said earlier, the Humans and Nomads can help. There's talk all over the meadow that someone is nearby to be tried, so you can get tens of thousands of powerful soldiers without waiting for days."

"Do you really think I'm trying to stop the war?

"I'm not like my brother, so I don't know what's really going on," he said, feeling a little off, then turning his expression into something serious.

"But if you're a white warrior who hears rumors, you should try to stop a useless war. Otherwise, you're not supposed to come to this meadow..."

So he stared closely into Ray's eyes and went on to say more.

"... and that brother entrusted it to you. He said it was bound to stop the war."

Ray thinks into the word.

(What Mr. Theo is saying is not wrong. We need strength to stop the war between the Empire and Luke. As far as Mr. Hamish's face is concerned, it's hard for the Humans to just have 10,000 people on their side. I can say more than a certain amount against the Empire... and then I wonder if I can clear that “try”...)

So I remember the words of the gods that I heard at the Temple of Clairthor in Gilsall.

(Mr. Zach made a path for us. I mean, you've prepared me so far, so I guess you'll succeed in trying... and if you can use magic on it, it's not like you don't have a winning shot. Use this time to set up an operation...)

Ray made up his mind to take a try. But I still didn't talk about it and thought about getting more information.

"I'd like to ask you something, Mr. Theo."

"What do you mean? I wish I could answer that."

"What is the way the Humans fight? I've never even seen him before, so I can't imagine..."

Theo tries to answer Ray's question, but Hamish has been interrupting.

"Are you gonna fight?"

"I intend to" answer that straightforward question firmly.

"Reckless!" Ashley screams, "but Hamish says," Shut up! "and had a drink,

"Do we have a chance?" and send Ray a struggling gaze.

Ray is about to get barometric pressure on his fighting temper, but he stares back into Hamish's eyes firmly.

And I answered clearly, "Yes."

"Then let me show you the battle and the doings of the Humans. Theo, I'm sorry, but I need you to speak to the strongest guy but the chief. I was wondering if you wanted to fight Hamish Markat."

Theo looks like a shudder for a moment, but says, "Okay! I said," I ran out.

Hamish offered Ray a challenge to actually show him how to fight the Humans.
