Trinitas Mundus

Episode 73: Information from the Front Line

evening of August 16th.

There were many human horses (Centaurs) in the camp of the Sorrels. They were the ones who received information from the Sorrels of the descent of the "White King” and rushed.

The Humans and Horses who rushed are also excited about the fact that the commissioning two thousand years ago became a reality, but they still couldn't believe it, and many had a frivolous (urticarial) look at first.

But when he sees Ray's pure white gear and the "inflexible spear” listed by Sorel chief Leeva, he immediately breaks his front leg and vows allegiance.

There were more than two thousand Sorrels alone from the beginning, but they swelled to a size of more than 10,000 in the humane horses and nomads they had gathered. The camp is as busy as it was during the festival.

In the meantime, Luna, who had gone to Netherton, the main city in the central region, to gather information, returned.

Ray was in a slump with Hamish and other intense training and the ensuing welcome of the Humane Horses, but greets her with a smile.

"Good day. Did you get any information?

"Yeah, but I feel like the word good luck suits you. Woof..." I look at Ray looking tired and I can't help but laugh zero.

The Hamish and Theophilus, who heard Luna was back, also come together.

Having confirmed the gathering of those who were the Lord, Luna will explain the information collected in Netherton.

"It's more serious than I thought," he tells him with a serious look, then looks around at everyone.

"Intelligence from the Fourth Regiment says they don't know anything about the enemy."

"What do you mean, you don't know the situation, but you're serious?," Alberic asks.

"They say who doesn't come back with the scouts they sent out. At the end of the day, I sent in a squadron, and even that squadron is missing information."

One squadron of the Imperial Army consists of hundreds of soldiers. If it was just a scout hunt, I wouldn't get my hands on a squadron-sized army, but that meant that the Imperial Army was struggling to cope.

"Until a squadron-sized reconnaissance... I don't know what's going on in the Holy King's kingdom, but is it always that thorough?

Luna shakes her head sideways to Hamish's question.

"I'm not familiar with it either, but from what I've heard, he says it's an anomaly this time. I was wondering if the Fourth Corps was mobilizing the Beast Slave Squad."

"Mobilize the Beast Slave Squad! The Holy Kingdom is serious, too," Theo said, surprised.

Ray whispers to Uno, who refrains behind him.

"How many people like Mr. Uno?

Uno questioned, but slowly shakes his neck sideways, slightly clouding his expression.

"I would like to answer that the whole story has not been revealed to those on our end. The only thing I can say is that there may be nearly fifty inside..."

Inside is the institution that trains the Beastman Slave Squad, which is assigned to a number or so of troops in action each year. He tells me that due to his retirement at roughly forty years of age and high wear and tear rates, about twenty people from one inside are expected to be in the force.

"Does that mean there are about a thousand people..."

Ray wanted to hold his temples.

The Unos are comparable to third- to fourth-level mercenaries. In Red Arms terms, it hits the captain class. That alone is a sufficient threat, but even fierce men at level seventy or above are likely to take lag in places such as the woods.

That being a thousand-man squadron would easily annihilate, and even a 500-strong battalion would likely not be able to counter it.

The atmosphere of the venue sinks. Luna goes on to say, "I'll get back to you."

"The situation of the Holy King's Army, as I explained earlier, has not been confirmed directly. But the head of the Imperial Army in Lark Hill seems to have some assumptions from other sources."

"You mean you can predict to some extent how big or when you're coming?" Hamish shrugs.

"Exactly. The total number of the Holy King's Army ranges from 200,000 to 250,000, and we expect the arrival time to begin in September."

"Twenty-five thousand!," Ashley shouts surprise.

"They say it's the biggest number. Beyond my previous assumptions, I hear from Uncle Rednapp, the head of the Fourth Legion, that we can't request reinforcements from the Humans and Nomads against Netherton's deputies."

"There's only a Fourth Legion still in Lark Hill, isn't there? I know when you hear of $250,000, you're gonna want reinforcements."

When Alberic says so, Luna shakes her head small to the side.

"They care more about not returning scouts than about numbers. Because I can't read what the Holy King is going to do because it's not like before. So far, I've been thinking in the direction of castling."

"But you got that much information a lot. The Lockhart family's glory is amazing," says Ray.

"This time it wasn't about the Lockhart family, it was about you guys. He asked me if I could get reinforcements because I was close to the Sorels."

"I see. We were right not to go," he nodded with Theo's convinced expression.

"What does that mean?," Hamish asked,

"Originally, His Majesty the Emperor was the only one who could ask the Humans to send troops. Netherton's deputies do not have that authority, and it would even be a violation of the agreement for anyone other than Your Majesty to request a troop contribution."

In Theo's description, Ray said, "Really? Even though you live within the Empire?" and lean his neck. The Hamish, who were oblivious to the circumstances, had the same doubts.

"The people of the meadows are respectful to the Empire, but they have full autonomy. Little is known, but even His Majesty the Emperor cannot give orders to the people of the meadows..."

Other than Theo and the others breathe there.

"Are you saying the emperor is reluctant in this empire," says Hamish, groaning, "you're right," Theo nodded loudly, continuing his conversation.

"About two thousand years ago, the Empire advanced its army to get this meadow. At the time, he said, the Imperial Army, with its excellent infantry and powerful magicians, had left its strongest name wanting. But without ever winning in the meadows, on the contrary, they were about to be attacked by the people of the meadows. The remnants of which are the castles of Fosdale and Ezarrington…"

Fosdale is a robust fortified city that draws a line with a fortified city called the Imperial Style, using strong walls and natural elements, the Foss River.

Ezarrington is likewise said to be the last fortress to defend the imperial capital with a major use of the river's middle state.

"… It also seems to have something to do with the passing down of the" White King, "but when the divinity descended upon the chiefs of each clan two thousand years ago, they were told by the gods to reconcile themselves with the empire. This is said to have descended not only on the people of the meadows, but also on the emperor at the time, so that he had such full autonomy that if he were to move as an army, the emperor himself would have to ask for it."

"The Emperor is also a trustee, so he protects it... something the selfish emperors have protected for 2,000 years."

"I'm not," laughed Theo at Ashley's whining,

"In fact, there seemed to be many emperors who tried to rebel. It's just that such a person is suddenly sick or accidentally dead, with an apparently suspicious death. Then it seems that things about the people of the meadows are contraindicated. I don't know if this is true."

That's where Luna takes the story.

"Even if the imperial government doesn't officially request it, it's fine for the people of the meadows to move voluntarily. So it seems the deputy wants you to ask Mr. Leeva personally, Theo, who is close to the Humans."

So Hamish said, "I got the story,"

"The Empire expects the people of the meadows to voluntarily come forward. If that's not possible, it means we're going to take a castle."

Luna shakes her neck to the side of the word.

"Doesn't always seem to be the case"

"What do you mean?" and Ray tilts his neck.

"When His Royal Highness Prince Leopold arrived, he said he would strike out into the field no matter how big the army."

"So you're saying that the prince might insult the Imperial Army no matter how many Holy Kings there are?

"Yeah, the deputy told me at least that's what Count Rednapp thinks."

"Is half the information on the Third Legion travelling by boat warm?" Theo asks.

"Yeah, the weather's nice, so they'll be in Lark Hill in about ten days."

"Your Excellency Count Rednap's concerns are going to be real. Mr. Ray, there is no change in the policy of intervening with the people of the meadows to stop the war."

Theo confirms to Ray.

"I'm going to... what's that?

"I thought we should just get ahead of ourselves. Regardless of His Royal Highness Leopold, Uncle Lednapp will be able to meet you, and if you tell him first, there will be less confusion."

Ray started thinking about what he should do to Theo's suggestion.

(Sure, the Holy King's Army can handle it, but I didn't consider the possibility that the Imperial Army wouldn't pull it off. If things become like the Imperial Army and the people of the meadows fighting, the confusion grows. If I respond incorrectly, I may make a new intervention to the godless (Vanitas)......)

Ray takes his hand after lowering his head to Theo.

"Please respond by the Imperial Army. If there's anything I can do, why?"

Theo laughs, "It's a big deal,"

"I don't want a useless war, and it's my brother's favor, so you don't have to bow your head."

After I say that, I look at Luna and change the story.

"I only have one favor to ask of you"

"What is it?

"I'm going to leave for Lark Hill tomorrow, but I can't stand the forcible forces on the Luna's horses. Plus I need all your horses in the Red Arms. So I'd like you to ask Mr. Leeva so I can borrow the frog horse."

Ray wondered why he wouldn't ask for it himself. Because he is more cordial with Leeva. Theo adds an explanation as to whether the matter came to his face.

"Horses are special to the people of the meadows. Fortunately, we were able to give it away, but we would not give it away unless there were otherwise special circumstances. If it's just for the Lunas, you can buy it, but it can be political when it's for everyone in the Red Arms..."

Famous as a war horse, the frogman horse is also a strategic commodity, difficult to obtain even in the lower nobility of the empire and almost impossible for mercenaries and soldiers of other countries to possess.

Ray's beloved horse traveler would also be problematic at the time he entered the empire, but it hasn't been problematic because of the Rockhart family's escort of Luna.

Ray immediately accepted.

And check on future policies.

"Then the Lunas leave with the Theos for Lark Hill tomorrow. We will form an army of the people of the meadows before we leave. However, the war could start sooner, so we will leave here at the latest four days later, on August 20th. That's good."

Beginning with Luna, Theo and Hamish nod loudly.

Only one person, Serra, disagrees.

"Then you can't have Mr. Hamish do the archery!

"I'll put an archery on you when it's over," convinced Hamish, a bitter smirk.

Ray communicates the policy to the Leevas.

After informing them of the possibility of speeding up their departure, of the need to pack up the formation of the army as soon as possible for this purpose, including the method of replenishment, and of the need to decide on a plan for the march, I ask them to lend me their horses.

Leeva nodded instantly,

"If the horse admits it, I'll be happy to give it to you," he said.

"We just need you to order us. Whatever it is, it is a king ordained by God."

To the words, Ray waves his neck sideways in small contradiction.

"I did come here because the gods told me, but I'm just a person who makes mistakes. So if I'm wrong, I want you to say that. Besides, I think of you all as my people. He says he's one of those people who protects the world."

"Holy shit!... what a waste of words!," he said, laying flat, but immediately raised his face,

"Okay. Let us convey the king's words to all."

Saying so with a sunny look, Leeva ordered her men to look after the horse.

The Red Arms mercenaries, including grade eight youths, are all lent brilliant military horses and cannot hide their surprises.

Especially since Squad Four, which is dominated by riding combat, was excited about mobility unparalleled with previous horses.

The captain, Elias Nifer, has tried to go ask him to give it up, so much so that Hamish is rushing to stop it.

Luna, Ryan and Ione were also given brilliant horses, but they have also been given ownership. This is because Luna was the adopted daughter of the Lockhart family, and Ryan and Ione were considered to be their squire.

Luna asked Leeva a question as she gently stroked her stunning black horse.

"Does this kid have anything to do with the horse Mr. Zach used to ride?

"Oh, don't hit the same blood muscle. I don't really miss you, but I think I liked you."

That's what Leeva said and smiled.

The next day, five Theos and three Lunas left for Lark Hill.
