Lesson 76: Pre-preparedness

Early morning of August 20th.

An army of 15,000 Humans and 30,000 Nomads were filling the meadows.

Because of the solidification of each family, it does not feel like alignment, but all the warriors gathered were trembling at the number and the hissing of the horses, and at the thought that they were part of it.

The families who drop them off also cheer loudly for their spectacle and encourage the warriors.

We were discussing plans for the future with the Chiefs and Warriors last night, and the rehearsal is over to the point that traveling alone would not be a problem. But there was no denying the possibility that it would be a battle after arriving at Lark Hill, and Ray was anxious about the means of information transmission.

(You can move from family to family while you're on the move. Fortunately, the food seems to do pretty much everything in front of itself, and the water field is abundant, so if you disperse it, it's fine. What more needs to be done is a mix of what to do with your movements on the battlefield before you arrive at Lark Hill. But I can't do it with my voice if this is the only big army, and I wonder if it would be hard to use a flag or a drum... That said, Luna was delivering her voice to a lot of people in the Devil's Capital (Luberna). It was magical, but I don't know how I was doing it. If I could use that, I would solve the problem on the battlefield at once...)

The magic of “loudness” also exists in this world.

But its existence had not been revealed. It is hidden as a secret because of its close involvement in religions, such as the Light Divinity and the Moon Demon clerics.

Some of the researchers in the academic city of Doctus were aware of its existence, but many surgeons needed to intervene and have not been able to figure out the principles.

Incidentally, the magic of “loudness” used during Luna's speech was also exercised by the priests of the Temple of Darkness. It is not merely sending a voice, but also using the power of the Spirit to deliver the word directly to the hearts of the people.

(Either way, there is no Luna here. I'll give it a try but I don't know if it works for me so you should think of other ways...)

Ray was thinking of a realistic way to communicate information while being rocked by a horse.

Combining the Humans and the Nomads brings the number of families to thirty. Since we do not act jointly, we intend to form a unit for each family to convey the order, but it is a cavalry group that will eventually be as high as 70,000, and even if we densify it, it will be at least two km (Kimmel) square.

He shall also be about two and a half meters (melt) tall in head, whether he be a human horse or a nomad, and shall send a signal higher than that. It is difficult for everyone to see unless we have something quite large at a further distance.

(I can't put together a flag, and I wonder if the flag is difficult. When that happens, I'm going to use the fireworks magic, but I'm told I don't use that much... but I can't get instructions unless I use it this time...)

Talk to Hamish and Valeria about using the magic of fireworks.

Hamish, who was briefed, immediately admitted it.

"We should use it this time. If some clan runs wild without an order being passed on, it will induce instead of stopping the war. Then we should actively explore ways to use it."

"I agree. Things were different then."

I'm relieved by the fact that they both agree, but Ashley speaks out the doubt.

"But how do we communicate the information? It'll take too long for you to make a series on your own, no matter how many times you tell."

The magic of fireworks is released about once every ten seconds, but it can still be undeniably prolonged.

"I'm going to change shape. Think of something that opens round, something that extends longitudinally, something that opens flat and plate-like, and you can work it out."

"Can you do that? The previous magic felt like it was going to open round?

"I don't know if I can do this without trying, but I think maybe I can. And then there's how far the people of the meadow will move as I say."

Ray thought that if he imagined the fireworks show he saw in Japan, he would be free to change shape.

The trip progressed about fifty kimmels that day. Too much abnormality for the speed of movement of more than 10,000 troops.

This time we can extend the distance even further without the Rays, and I have previously felt that the word 100 Kimmels a day is not an exaggeration if it is just the Humans and Horses that Leeva said.

I was tired from a long ride, but I also enjoyed the feeling of going to the sea of grass with my horse.

(If this isn't going to the battlefield, it would be more fun...)

With that in mind, say "good luck" and gently slap your beloved horse in the neck.

Early the next morning, show off the magic of the fireworks before you leave.

The people of the meadows were astonished by its loud noise, but although the well-trained horses moved their ears in a restless way, there was nothing to rumble about.

Ray was relieved to see how it went.

(I was wondering what I would do if I panicked with sound, but you were okay. So is Traveller, but all the horses here are smart so it helps......)

I will show you the magic of a few patterns of fireworks and convey the meaning of each.

"Go ahead with the whole army for the round stuff. What spreads flat is an all-arms shutdown. Anything elongating and stretching goes in that direction. Bread, bread, bread and a lot of stuff that feels like you can play it. Call off the fight. Remember, detailed instructions will be communicated using a transmission, but now to the extent that this is the case. I'll practice a few times during the march, thank you."

It's too easy a signal, but I'm giving up that I can't use it properly even if I decide on complicated instructions in an army that's just a stopover.

After that, he marched well and was able to leave and on August 28th, the eighth day, he was able to proceed to a position with a hundred kimmels remaining until Lark Hill.

It has also joined the Karaev tribe, which had already preceded it, and has swelled to a great army of 20,000 Humans and 50,000 Nomads.

Through the meadow zone in the central region and into the western region, the western region is lagging behind in development due to the effects of the war with Lukes, with untouched wilderness spreading.

The western streets are built between loose hilly areas, but the army of meadow people led by Ray was not streets, but proceeding through the wilderness. This was due to fear of trouble in towns and villages along the streets. There have also been times when the people of the meadows hated paved paths.

The next day, he joins the Lunas who left Lark Hill.

"I can't believe I didn't really use the streets... it was a dangerous place"

Luna was going to wait in a village along the streets, but Theophilus told me that the people of the meadows hated the streets, waiting on the hills of the scenic wilderness. Still off the route, the situation was that Ray's alarming trouble with the Imperial Army and his scouts allowed him to rendezvous hard.

"Why are you back?" Explain the results of your interview with Uncle Rednapp in Lark Hill to Ray's inquiry.

"I mean, Uncle Lednapp isn't against stopping the war, but I guess it's okay that Prince Leopold might force the end of the war"

"That recognition is fine. For the Empire, it is a position of defense against the war of aggression. Leaving your enemies intact in favorable circumstances means that you are likely to think that they will only leave their roots behind."

"I know what you're going to say, but is there something Ray can do?" Ashley asks.

"To be honest, I'm not sure. But I don't feel like I or Theo can convince you. I was wondering if Ray could do something about it..."

"Sure enough, this guy's got enough tongue to make the other guy a big shot. That's not a bad idea," Hamish convinced, and even more so, Alberic nods with a rare and serious look.

"I really am. Besides, God is better than a prince or an earl, so I guess it's okay."

I laugh niggly after I run out of words.

Ashley is caught by Alberic and laughs.

"Brother Al is right. Because no one can imitate the boldness of cutting to the front and opinionating God. Huuuuuuuuuu..."

"I don't feel complimented at all... but anyway, I'll figure out a way to convince Prince Leopold"

"I'm talking about that Hon. Leopold......" Luna started talking with a sad look.

"I got into Lark Hill four days ago with 10,000 advance troops from the Third Corps. I haven't seen you, Theo, but you've been called to ask me about the trends of the people of the meadows."

"So what did the prince say?" Ashley asks.

"He was surprised to hear that tens of thousands of meadow people would intervene. Seems like Theo ordered you to persuade Mr. Leeva afterwards. But, Theo, you said no to someone who could only take the form of a request.

"You refused the prince's order!" Ashley is astonished.

"Yes, I just don't know what the prince will do as it is, so I seem to have decided to talk about being a messenger and doing Mr. Leeva a favor..."

Is it difficult to say? The end of the story becomes smaller.

I noticed that. Alberic turns off his usual grin and spits out his spicy words.

"If the Humans don't take sides, did they tell you to hold the Lockhart family accountable? If you're a prince after the throne of the emperor, that's about all I'm gonna say."

"Yes, as Count Lednapp seems to have taken it up on the matter, but the Count said His Highness Leopold seems in a hurry..."

There is also the take-up of Uncle Rednap, and Theo and the others are not in custody. But he was told by the surrounding people that he hated Netineti because he touched the Prince's scales. Fortunately, there is no harm from being in the quarters given to Uncle Rednap.

"You're about to run out of Mr. Serra," Ray says, "I'm worried about that, too," Luna nods with a serious look.

"When that happens, you should also consider it quite difficult to talk about Ray convincing the prince," Ashley said with an idea face.

"The current story of the abolition of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness Gigismund, has long been said. It used to be said that it was only a matter of time before His Highness Leopold was raised. But things are a little different now."

"Things are different? Like the Crown Prince corrected it?" Ray asks.

"No. There were no other candidates. And both of them."

"You mean the other princes have the eyes of emperors?," Ashley mutters.

"Yes. His Highness Julius, who has the First Queen as his mother as well as His Highness Gigismund, is now named as a candidate. They also have the name of His Royal Highness Percival, who has the Second Queen as her mother. I haven't heard the details, but I've only heard a little bit about it from the Count's deputy, Lady Lucien Etherlington."

"Ezarrington? Is he the margin of Lord Ezarrington, the Chancellor?" Hamish asks.

"Yes, Your Eminence, I am the second son of the Duke of Alexis Ezarrington."

"So there's a good chance of information? It's not a mistake to be in a hurry."

So Ray mutters, "You want information about the two princes," he says.

"Are you going to make it look like you're joining hands with those princes? too dangerous, though," Hamish asked,

"I'm not thinking that far. I think the position of Prince Leopold will change depending on how powerful the two princes are. For example, if Prince Julius is close to the Imperial Army, or if Prince Percival is married to the son of a great Leopold aristocrat, he might go on a beating thinking his support base would shake."

"I'll look into it," Luna said.

"I'd ask for it, but if it was you, I probably wouldn't make it. Because it takes three days to get into the city and talk to Theo and then come back with information."

"You're right," Luna drops her shoulder.

The beast slave Uno, who had refrained behind Ray, asked to speak by saying, "May I?"

"I will contact the Lockhart family for information."

"If Uno and the others are going to let us in... but if they find us, it will be difficult to negotiate afterwards..."

Ray thought it was possible to come into contact with Theo if the Unos were capable. But it's easy to imagine that Lark Hill, who refrained from fighting Lukes, is more alert than usual.

For this reason, there was a risk that Prince Leopold would not listen to it in case it was discovered.

"Why don't you take off your slave collar and put it in grandiose? I don't think it's considered a beastly slave of the Holy King."

Uno's collar can be removed, so he doesn't look like a slave. For that reason, he proposed entering Lark Hill as an Orc mercenary and contacting Theo and the others.

"Sounds fine then. Now, please, Uno, it would be helpful if you could also purchase other information about the area, etc. Prioritize safety in any case."

"Yes. Me and Seyce are headed to Lark Hill," he said, bowing his head and leaving immediately.

When I finish that story, I catch Luna and Ione and listen to them about dark attribute magic.

"Previously, when Luna spoke, you used the power of the Dark Spirit. I want you to tell me how you do that."

"I'm not using magic. Maybe..."

"Maybe?" he tilts his neck.

"Yeah, back then, I was in a lot of a mood when I spoke and I didn't remember much. Maybe the Dark God (Noctis) was using my body. So maybe the Spirit of Darkness helped me..."

Ione nods loudly at Luna's explanation.

"That may indeed be the case. When I heard Luna speak, I felt God close to me. I feel a lot like the Dark God (Noctis) I felt in the Temple of Claire Tor."

Ray drops a little shoulder with that word.

"It is. Then you can't use it on the battlefield."

"It may be too soon to give up," Ione remarks positively rarely.

"But I can't let God descend..."

"No. If we do not have to descend the gods directly, but preach the word of the gods to soldiers in both armies, will the gods also help us, Master Luna, Master Ray"

"You feel like a prophet......" Ray mutters.

(If it is true that the prophetic positioning that preaches the Word of God, it is easy for the gods to help too. Risk is the intervention of the gods, is it about as likely to empower the godless (Vanitas)...)

Currently, Vanitas has intervened too much in this world to exercise direct influence by being restricted in his power. But if the intervention of the gods becomes stronger, that restriction will be lifted. Ray was concerned about that.

"Do we have to leave it to the way it is then? By the way, what's Luna gonna do after this? I refused to talk about gathering information, but we could go back to Theo's, too, right?

"I'm going to be with you. Being in Lark Hill doesn't help, but if I were here, it would help a little when negotiating with the Imperial Army."

"Right. Even for me, that would be better."

Thus Luna was to act with Ray again.
