Trinitas Mundus

Episode 85: The Conversion of the Holy King

Ray took off the crisis of absolute desperation with the help of the spirits.

The miracles performed by the Spirits look exactly like the works of God, and the soldiers of the Luke's Holy King's Army on Westlaw Hill lie flat, believing him to be the manifestation of the God of Light (Lucidus).

They were just peasants who were conscripted when they said they were soldiers and forced to bring them from the countryside. For that reason, until yesterday, I did not expect to live and tread on my homeland, and my heart had been painted hard with despair. But now he has a flat but full look of pride by thinking that he is with God.

Ray didn't see the soldiers, but he felt something was happening.

And we approach Augustino, the Holy King, who is in tears as he is restrained by the Holy Knight.

He was trying to take advantage of the situation and gain full control of the Holy King's Army.

(I don't think this way is a good idea. But if we don't do it, many people will be driven out to war, creating many tragedies. If that happens, the balance of power of the gods should break down and the world should go to collapse, as the Gods of Nothingness (Vanitas) aim to do... no matter what they say, that's the only way to prevent it!

I renewed my resolve in my heart, but I didn't even let that happen every time, and I talked to him as I tried to look like a gentle grin.

"Your Holiness, have you believed my words?"

In that word the Holy King slowly raises his face. There was a lucid grin on that face with surprise.

Ray was convinced by an earlier miracle that the Holy King had switched hearts.

"Of course you are, God of Light (Lucidus). Stupid I was manipulated by evil gods. Even though I was manipulated, I pulled a bow on God. In order to atone for this sin, I would like to give you death on this occasion and to accept God's mercy."

Ray felt pain running behind his chest over what he called God. He recognised that he was trying to deceive the Holy King.

(It's hard to be seen with such eyes. I don't think this guy is a good guy, but it doesn't make a difference that he's cheating. How long do we have to keep playing like this...)

Driven by the urge to expose everything to his own acts of fraud and strife, but without breaking his expression by summoning his spiritual strength, he speaks to the Holy King.

"I am not God. He's just a human being who obeys God's life."

In the words the Holy King nods, "Do as you say,"

"Still, the sin of trying to do you harm will not go away. How dare you punish Lucidus, the righteous God"

In the teachings of phototheism, Lucidus is considered the only God as well as the embodiment of justice. This is a doctrine created by the priests to wield the authority of “God's justice” for their own convenience, but over the years it settled as a general doctrine.

"You can't punish victims manipulated by evil gods, etc. Not to mention punishing those who are reflecting in this way…"

"Then the righteousness of God will be lightened. Please punish me!

Though I can't move because I'm in captivity, I stare at you with a gaze.

(If this guy will stay like this, he should never have another useless war. And then I don't know how to ask you to do that... well! If you order me as punishment, you will obey me!

Think so, erase the grin you've been floating around and make a serious look.

"... ok. Okay, let's punish you. That's a very heavy punishment too..."

Heard of heavy punishment, the colour of fear floats in the eyes of the Holy King.

"... you lead the army as the Holy King and return to the Holy Capital. And lead the country to return all soldiers to their homeland and never to wage such a war again. This is the duty of the Holy King of the kingdom to bear the God of Light (Lucidus). That's what paying for sins is all about doing it."

To a word I never thought I would, the Holy King said, "Then you will not be punished! scream."

Ray shook his head (wearing it) saying "no,"

"There are many who have not heard my words, no, the word of God of Light (Lucidus). This means that those who are at the mercy of the Evil God will not cease to follow. It guides them, and gives light to all, as the word of God said earlier. This is a hard and arduous trial. You'll probably want to throw it out again and again. But I won't allow it! Because this is punishment!

The Holy King has lost his word.

Ray did not mind him and quietly ordered the Holy Knights he was seizing to "let His Majesty go".

The Holy Knight immediately releases the Holy King and falls back.

"I think they asked me what I was saying! His Holiness the Holiness has been given the test of communicating the true (mako) heart of Lucidus to the people! This is the same for you all!

The Holy Knights and the priests lay flat, saying, "As you say". He sees the miracle that Ray has done, and he behaves obediently that he cannot defy God's authority.

Ray was grinning and nodding at the Saints as he endured the blame of his conscience.

But not all were obedient to God's authority.

The bureaucrats of the Holy King's Palace serving as staff officers originally had doubts about the clergy of the Church and the very doctrine they cried out for, and although their hearts were moved by the words appealing to Ray's heart, they have not reached the point of unconditional obedience.

Carlo Parenti, an army bureaucrat at the Holy King's Palace, was briefly rounded into Ray's words and looked with a chilling eye at the clergy who, on the surface, were honestly following him.

(It is certainly God's mercy. Only on the surface, but I can't believe that I follow it so honestly......)

Though I thought so, I also thought that this situation would never be bad.

(His Holiness the Holiness was fully contacted by this one. Besides, at least the priests here won't go against this one... this one thinks wholeheartedly that the war itself is barren. And the important thing is that this person is powerful. If we use that power successfully, we can even make peace with the Empire... We can only rely on this person's power for our country to survive...)

Parenti did not think that the Holy King and the priests, who had been shown the authority of God, would defy the words of Ray.

He further believed that with the power of the people of the meadow that Ray possessed, even the mighty Empire could be brought to the negotiating table.

It's not just that, it makes my chest hot to get closer to the ideal I had in mind when I was younger: changing the current situation in my own country, full of contradictions.

(I have to ask this person to come to the Holy City. There is still a big man under the Archbishop… If only he could show off one end of his power in the Holy City, all the faithful would be my servants. Even under the Archbishop, it is great to turn all believers against the enemy...)

That's all I thought about, the beastly slave that was nearby catches my eye.

(No, there are still beastly slaves. I wouldn't even use the darkness to assassinate this person...)

The Beast Slave Squad cannot disobey the Archbishop's orders. And now Archbishop Bernardino Rolfo has previously used an animal slave unit specializing in assassinations to kill the former Holy King, a political enemy. If Ray decides to get in the way this time, he thinks he's going to get into assassination without hesitation.

(If this person is to be entrusted with the reform of our country, we must tell him about this. But it's not something I can handle from what I've told you......)

My heated heart cools like a lie when I can reform my country, which was a long-standing concern.

While Parenty was thinking about that, Ray was taking action.

"Now let's move the army. The Imperial Army has my people under control, but I don't know what's gonna happen."

"As you say," the Holy King bows his head greatly. And issued orders in a hectic voice like never before.

"Get ready to leave! I'm returning to the Holy Capital!

Ray slightly loosens the mind he was straining on the words.

The Ashleys watching behind him in the same way had loosened their expressions.

"I'm still impotent," Ashley chuckles and hugs him.

"Sorry. But this is all I could think of."

"But it was good. When I heard your voice earlier, I wondered if Lady Ray was being manipulated by God, but you didn't."

Stella said, "That's my will. Because I acted desperately," he answers in a whisper so that I can't hear him around me.

"What are we going to do now? Are you going to accompany the Holy King's Army?," said Hamish with a tired expression,

"I'm going to act with you today. And of course, the army of the people of the meadows."

"Right. I see. But don't do much bad to these bodies. That's how long it's been going on."

Alberic, usually cheerful in Hamish's words, also nodded loudly with a serious look.

As Ray turned his gaze back, a bewildered expression of Langess Fortunato stood.

"What should I do next?

Even though it was inevitable, Fortunato is defying the orders of his lord, the Holy King. It was indeed an action against treason against God, but Ray allowed the Holy King, so he was not sure if he could stay in command.

The Holy King interrupts us with a powerful voice before Ray answers.

"Sir Fortunato is to be treated as a general and ordered to assist the rest as deputy general. If Sir were here, the rest would have made a great mistake. Sooner or later I'll reward you for that accomplishment, but now I want to ask for the rest of your help"

Fortunato stops his surprise move when he is promoted from Squadron Leader to General, who is Regiment Leader.

When Ray nodded as small as he would approve, he said "thank you" and bowed his head greatly.

To that great promotion, Executive Bishop Maggioni Gastaldi felt a similar emotion gushing in jealousy.

(About six months ago, he was only the third floor platoon captain. That's the Sixth Floor General! I didn't know you'd be superior to me on the fifth floor......)

But that's where I look at Ray's expression and change my mind.

(No, this could rather be a good thing. Fortunato was liked by this one. This means that if this person likes him, he can soon become the Archbishop of the Sixth Floor. We need to figure out a way to get in well...)

When Gastaldi was thinking about that, Parenti showed up.

"I have ordered the staff officers to give instructions to each unit," he says, clouding his expression. "But I have only one concern," he says.

In that word, the Holy King said, "What are concerns?" and ask back.

Say, "Pay me first," and keep the Saints away from you.

And with so much whisper as to say if it sounds like the Rays,

"There is a danger to Master Arklight…"

"What!" the Holy King raises his voice, "Be quiet," Parenti said after controlling, continuing to explain.

"If this comes into your ear under the Archbishop, you will necessarily move the assassination unit known as the Dark Zone. If that happens, I wonder how Lucidus' sheltered Arkwright is bound to endanger your lives."

"Is it the dark part......" Ray mutters, but immediately contemplates.

(In the dark... people like Uno are not sure they can handle it. I don't know how many there are, but if they're after us, there's no guarantee of life even with Mr. Hamish... wait. There are about a thousand Beast Slave Troops in this army. If the majority are here, we might be able to figure it out if the assassination squad comes......)

Ray sums up his thoughts and asks the Holy King and Parenti questions.

"I mean the Beast Slave Squad, how much remains in the Holy Capital"

After Parenti prefaced that "the total number is a confidential matter known only under the Archbishop",

"This battle means a battle that betrayed the fate of our country, and we are ordered to take all those who are more mobilizable under our command. Some of them have not yet finished finishing in the" Inside, "and there seems to be little left in the Holy Capital except those on another mission"

The Holy King is also groaning heavily at Parenti's explanation.

"Does that mean that it would be difficult for the Archbishop to try to harm me if he brought the Beastly Slave Squad here to his side"

"You are right...... you may not know, but the beastly slaves cannot disobey the orders of the Archbishop General. Because the collar of a slave makes him the final commander."

"I know about that, but what if I could remove the collar of a slave?

The Holy King waves his head to the side of the word.

"The collar of a slave is something no one can take off. Even if it's the archbishop himself... we hear it's a magic trick made like that."

Ray nods small to the word of the Holy King,

"I have God's power. It is possible to safely remove the collar of a slave."

All the officials of the Holy Kingdom will cease to speak in that language. The collar of the slave of the Beastman slave is supposedly not removable until death once fitted, because he thought that was common sense.

"Mr. Uno, come if you're near me," Ray calls, immediately showing himself, "in front of you," poking one knee and bowing his head.

"I want to show you guys something."

That's what Ray said and approached Uno.
