Episode 91: Towards the Showdown Land

September 4th evening.

Ray ended his meeting with Prince Leopold in success. Prince Leopold, who may run wild, returned to the Imperial Capital and a fourth legion led by Count Rednap, who is opposed to the invasion of the Holy King Luke's kingdom, was to remain in Lark Hill.

It was also possible to stop Ray himself from going to the Imperial Capital and to head to the Desperate Wilderness (Desperationis) in the land of the Demons.

Then Prince Leopold invited me to dinner, but Ray says he can't leave the army of the people of the meadows any longer, and he refuses to do so.

The prince was not in question because he was once convinced of the excuse, but as Ray, being together for a long time feared that the mask of the ruler of the people of the meadows, the "White King”, would be stripped away.

By the time the sun tilted, Ray had left the city of Lark Hill, leading the Marcut Mercenaries (Red Arms) and Uno and other Beastmen troops. The beasts scattered around the city were also joining at some point, and the Rays were unaware of the fact that they were lurking in the city.

"I'm sorry I could even rent a barracks sleeper," Ray apologizes to Hamish.

Because I've only been able to count the number of times I've been able to stay in a decent inn, including him, since I entered the central region a month ago.

"Never mind. You just have to think of it as a long march training. In fact, it was like training because I hadn't waved my sword properly."

Hamish's deputy, Alberic Auger, pinches his mouth.

"I sure didn't fight, but I think it was all bad for my heart. It's going to be tougher up ahead, but it's easier for me to just fight without thinking."

"It sure is. It doesn't suit me sexually what politics is either," Hamish nodded bitterly.

Join the army of the people of the Humane Horses (Centaurs) and other meadows in the meadows outside the city of Lark Hill.

Ray gathers the chiefs and others who were the lords and conveys his gratitude for the success of this operation.

"Thanks to all of you, we were able to avoid a useless war. Even in the Holy King's kingdom, the Holy King himself says he will take the lead and begin reform. This prevented the God of Nothingness (Vanitas) from doing what the gods were concerned about. This is also thanks to all of you for helping me. Thank you so much."

That's what I say and I bow my head big. Likewise Ashley, Stella and Luna bow their heads.

"Please raise your face!," cries the people of the meadows in haste.

Ray slowly looks up and goes on to say more.

"Ahead I will head with my people to the land of the Devils, east of the Aquila Mountains. So I'm going to fight Vanitas and restore peace to this world..."

"Take me too!" and the young people of the Humane Horse clan raise their voices. Many raised their voices in the same way, beginning with Reeva Sorrell, the leader of the Humane Horse tribe in that voice.

Ray calms it by raising his hand,

"The battle against Vanitas will not be between the great armies, but between the few. Besides, the land called Desperationis is not a land where you can act on horses.

"But we humans can also go where ordinary horses can't go," Leeva says desperately.

In fact, it is also possible to run down a cliff like a chamossica if you are an elite of the Humane Horse clan, with such mobility that it is not comparable to a normal cavalry. In addition, the nomads' horseback riding skills stand out from the rest of the cavalry.

"There is another favor for the people of the meadows," he says, looking at the people of the meadows. And I started talking again where I calmed down.

"It's a war between the Holy King Luke and the Caerm Empire, but this time we managed to avoid it. But the enemy is Vanitas, who fears even the gods. I honestly don't know what kind of hands you're going to hit. If you are all here no matter what happens, we can stand between the two countries and stop the war. Please help us protect the world."

Hearing Ray's explanation, the people of the meadows understand their mission with dismay.

"The king's orders have been received with certainty. However, we also want to join the fight against our enemies. It doesn't matter if it's a few. Could you please add our representatives to the king's army's last seat?"

With that said, Leeva lays flat. And the people of the meadow, who saw it, pleaded in the same way, and lay low.

Ray is confused as to what to do.

(Humans and nomads are powerful warriors, but they can be a handful in the wilderness of despair. I feel sorry for you to be honest about that, and how can I say no......)

Did you feel Ray's distress, or advise Ashley to whisper in his ear?

"Shouldn't we take representatives of each clan? We need Heavy Squads to get to that land. We just need you to escort us to where we can go."

Ray also rethinks the idea.

(Surely Ash is right. With the addition of Uno and the elite of Lord Elise and the Great Ghost Clan to the Red Arms, it becomes a great zone of more than three hundred people. It would be hard just to carry food when that happens. Ash said he was an escort, but you should also think about having him carried directly. It's bad for the Humans, but if you put food on their backs, you can carry 100 kg (kigrans) per person nicely. If nomads also take extra frog horses to help transport them, the problem of replenishment will be solved......)

I'll be honest with you about that.

"I would ask the people of the meadows not only to fight, but also to carry food and other supplies. If you're not uncomfortable with this role, I'd like you to come with me."

Ray stares at the people of the meadows with a serious look, but to the fact that they were allowed to accompany him "" Ooh!, "he roared. But the roar was echoed when Leeva said," Quiet! "and suppressed by drinking one,

"To what extent will I be allowed to accompany you? Can you also tell us what you expect from us?"

"Two from each clan. The nomads would like to take two spare horses at a time. What you are hoping for is replenishment of supplies and defense of the final base as you head to the final showdown land. Of course, it's possible to fight on the ground, but I don't think it's likely."

The people of the meadows give their discouraged expression to the words, but Leeva convinces them that "our bodies are not suitable, are they?"

"That's right. But we need a supply unit in order for us to move on. I don't know what the terrain is, so I believe it's likely that we'll end up heading for just a few dozen elites. So the people of the meadows aren't the only ones left behind."

From his own experience, Ray believed that going deep would be confined to the captain class of Hamish and other Marcut Mercenaries (Red Arms) and the elite of the Uno and other Beast Troops, as well as to the flying units that said Moon Demons and Wing Demons.

"Then we order each clan to select the warrior chief and his equivalents on the basis of"

That's what Leeva said and tried to give instructions to each clan, but Ray says, "We still need to talk," and holds it back.

"When His Highness Leopold triumphed over the Empire, he was to accompany a thousand Humane Horse Warriors. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to ask the Torres."

Torres clan chiefs lay flat on the words.

"Thank you for your words. Meet the king's expectations by betting on the name of my family."

"I'll explain the details later," Ray said, further prefaced with "It has something to do with the earlier story,"

"We need the Imperial Army to take command to stop the war when it makes a mistake. As far as I am concerned, I would like to ask the Sorrel tribe chief Leeva, so that you may all follow Mr Leeva's instructions and give your gaze so that there will be no war between the Empire and the Holy King. I'll explain more about this later."

Ray feared there would be a backlash, but only positive words came from the people of the meadows.

They waited two thousand years longer than their own pride and cared to betray the expectations of the "White King", who had finally emerged.

Ray was exhaling a breath of relief in his heart from being able to persuade the people of the meadows more easily than he thought.

Later in the evening we then discussed the details.

The following September 5th.

Ray led the people of the meadow, seventy thousand, eastward. The people of the meadows were exalted by the fact that they had stopped the war between the great powers of the Empire and the Holy King, although the battle was not the only battle.

For this reason, every time he camped, he showed a festive bustle.

Ray will make sure to visit each clan formation frequently and deepen his interaction with the people of the meadows. They welcomed all tears to the honor of welcoming the White King, and Ray took full control of the people of the meadows.

September 10th six days later. He returned to the central region's main city, Netherton.

Following the demands of the people of the meadows, a feast of mission success was held. That was not on the level of a feast, but on a good scale with a large festival attended by most of the people of the meadows.

Many families brought offerings to Ray, but he did not receive them at first.

"What are you going to do with the military money ahead?" Though I am stuck with the answer to Theo's words, I do not wish to impose a burden on the people of the meadows.

"But wouldn't it impose a burden on each clan?"

Ray thought the people of the meadows, the nomads, were not wealthy.

But that's his mistake. A brilliant military horse, Frogm horses can be sold for more than 10,000 kronas a head, plus many livestock such as sheep.

Bigger than that was the fact that they had no tax burden. There is no obligation to perform military service, and there is no obligation to pay taxes. And it has a monopoly on rich meadow areas. Besides, he had less cash in his possession because he also had dealings with the merchants.

"The people of the meadows are all wealthy. I think you'll know when you see the gear and outfits..."

"It would be helpful if you could cooperate to an extent that is not at your expense," he said, bowing his head to the representatives of each clan.

Though the people of the meadows panic at the low of their hips, the fact that their kings fight for God quickly gathers more than one million kronas (about one billion yen in Japanese yen) in cash from thirty clans. If he hadn't restricted it, we would have more than doubled together.

Not only was Ray surprised by this, but Hamish and the others as well.

He also thought about the horses that the Red Arms mercenaries had borrowed, and officially transferred them rather than loaned them on the move ahead.

The formation of the Beast Troops, but it was decided that Uno would assume the overall command and that Seyce, Ocho, Nuebe and Dies would be captains of each unit.

"Will there not be dissatisfaction from the others? We were all talking about the elite."

Ray had something like a sequence and wondered if he was ignoring it.

"No problem," Uno tells her that there is no concern, but Ray takes care not to be dissatisfied with the Beasts in the form of his immediate appointment.

Most beasts, as Uno said, did not care at all. They only obey the orders of the superior, Uno, and do not care who is in command if there is no obstacle to the fulfilment of their mandate.

Twenty men acted with Ray as a preaching order, while the others acted differently. This was what Uno suggested.

"You should gather information ahead of the main unit. The central region and Fortis are good, but beyond that, they will once again enter imperial territory. Aside from checking what's going on, you may want to act differently if you're on guard in a fortified city."

"Right. I think I should have some information, too. Uno and the others will have a hard time..."

Thus the Beast Troops, with the exception of a small number of liaison personnel, were to act as their good interlocutors. The Beasts also decided to join the Mercenary Alliance in Fortis, the country of mercenaries.

The orb they hold belongs to the Holy King Luke, and consideration is given to ensuring that there is no obstacle to their actions in the Empire or the Kingdom of Kaum.

September 14th.

After a three-day feast, the Rays leave for the east.

At the time of departure, in addition to the Rays, a total of more than two hundred and seventy men, including one hundred Red Arms and one hundred Beast Troops and sixty Humans and Horses, were aligned.

Ray was protected by warriors led by Hamish-led Red Arms, who left the meadows near Netherton.

His departure was dropped off by 300,000 meadow people, and Ray felt the weight of responsibility a glimmer in its grand drop-off.

(This many people think of me as their mentor. Plus, there's the Holy Kingdom. We need to defeat Vanitas at all costs and make it a peaceful world...)

The thought had been conveyed to Ashley.

"You don't have to feel alone. I have Stella. And Father and Uno. Trust your people."

"Right. I'll make sure you don't forget we're all here. Still, it's kind of like being worshipped by this many people."

"Sure, but you are you. You can do what you've always done."

I proceeded with the horse as I talked about it.
