It was a young girl that Gapon indicated as the subject of execution.

To see that unspeakable face, you'd be around ten.

The girl was dressed in a thin, blurry piece of cloth.

And tied to a wooden plate with rope.

But the pale chestnut hair and the beautiful, clear blue eyes were a touch of elegance.

The kid was staring straight at us.

Is the Imperial Government going to kill even such a little boy?

I opened my eyes wide as Philia couldn't believe it.

"What sin did this child commit?

In response to Phyllia's inquiry, Gapon answered without any expression on his wrinkled face.

"This child is the daughter of the rebel Poros, Your Highness."

"So, but this kid himself hasn't done anything, has he?

"Exactly, Your Highness. However, the Polos, many in awe, planned the assassination of His Majesty the Emperor and His Highness the Prime Minister Strass, and actually killed many in the Holy Palace. Being the daughter of such a rebel is a sin in itself."

"That's crazy!

Philia stared at the girl.

Help, so the girl stared back at Philia and me.

Daughter of Count Polos, huh?

I mean, she's an earl's maid.

I thought it was elegant.

Polos, a July Party executive, was the one I defeated.

Tell you what, one of the reasons this kid is about to get killed is because of me.

The girl, however, seemed to think that we would understand the conversation after seeing the earlier interaction with the Iris.

"I don't want to die..."

The girl tried to sue us.

Phyllia turned away and asked the girl.

"What's your name?

I panicked and tried to stop Philia.

If you ask me for my name, I will have a lot of emotion.

That's no good.

This child will be condemned to death in just a few moments and will lose his life.

Besides, Philia herself said she was supposed to kill it.

But I couldn't stop him in time.

"Estelle."

The girl said that in a beautiful voice.

Philia smiled.

"Oh well. That's a good name."

And Philia gently stroked the child's head.

And then he stood up and stared at Gapon.

"I can't kill such a little girl."

"But it is Your Majesty's order. You are acting Emperor on this occasion, but this decision cannot be overturned. Don't forget."

"This kid hasn't done anything wrong!

"Those killed in the Imperial Palace were also killed irrationally by the July Party, Your Highness, even though they did nothing wrong. It could have included His Highness and the Magic Swordsman Solon."

So Gapon cut the words and stared at us.

"In that case, many servants who had served the Imperial Family in good faith, and a small number of nobles, were sacrificed. In order to clear their mindless minds and never repeat the same tragedy again, we need to annihilate them, not only the July Party executives, but also their edgers! This child may now be a harmless adorable child. But sooner or later you will always try to avenge us to take the revenge of your father, Polos!

Philia tried to argue and nearly opened her mouth.

But that's where Philia stopped.

Because I slapped Philia on the shoulder.

Blatantly criticizing the government's policies is no good no matter how many filiahs are princesses.

No, should I say it's bad because I'm an empress?

Because there are so many bureaucrats and soldiers here.

"Dear Philia, I'll take care of this place."

"Is Solon going to help this girl?

I whispered.

"Does Master Philia really want to help this child? She's the daughter of someone who tried to kill Philia, not to have anything to do with her."

"Still, I am not convinced by what is happening in front of me. So, Solon... help this girl."

"I will do my best with your orders, Philia."

I said.

Honestly, I didn't feel like I could convince Gapon.

If you can't do it and fail to help, the Gapons may be watching you and I and Philia may not be safe.

In the meantime, try to persuade me by twisting my reason one day.

"It seems more like a good choice to me, though, to save the lives of such a little girl and show the people the mercy of His Majesty the Emperor and His Highness the Empress. That way, fewer people will think about turning their teeth to the empire."

"I see what you're saying. But it's not about you keeping your mouth shut. And mercy doesn't save the country. All you need is a whip and a cane."

"But..."

"Are you only going to disobey His Majesty's will, Magic Swordsman Solon?

When they bring up the Emperor's orders, I have to shut up, too.

Is execution inevitable?

I decided to gapon a realistic proposal.

"Following His Royal Highness the Illis, how Lady Philia is also losing her calm. So I'm going to do this daughter's mutilation on behalf of Philia."

"It makes sense for His Highness to go himself."

"My sword is also the sword of Master Philia. So when I wield my sword and kill people, you should think that Philia is also wielding the same sword and killing people."

"Strange logic, but, well, okay"

Gapon nodded unexpectedly lightly.

"Instead, Your Highness would like you to watch Solon execute this daughter without closing your eyes."

Philia looked anxiously at me.

This girl, I promised Philia I'd help Estelle.

The trumpet of the execution signal rings.

I unleashed the treasure sword Tetracord and stabbed him in the chest of a young Estelle without hesitation.

Oh, and I found Phyllia breathtaking.

Estelle collapses without a voice and bright red blood blows out of Estelle's chest.

As it was, Estelle's body was slightly cramped for a while, but eventually stopped moving as well.

When I looked back, gapon's inhaled, deep-colored eyes stared straight at me.

It's like you're going to cut inside of me.

"Hmm. It's Magic Swordsman Solon. I thought you were going to save this young daughter's life... But that's a brilliant sword move, almost instant death. This child would have died without suffering."

"Killing such a young child is a pain in the ass for me, though. But this kid is the daughter of a traitor. Your Majesty's orders will not absolve you of the death penalty."

I looked back at Filia as I pulled out the blood-swet treasure sword Tetracord.

Phyllia looked at me with a flashing look.

I think it was very irritating for Filia.

A girl younger than herself died in front of her.

No.

I just tried to make it look dead, to be exact.

Estelle, daughter of Count Polos, is still alive.

I was probably the only one who knew about it on this occasion.
