Tsumi Kake Tensei Ryoushu no Kaikaku

Episode XVIII: Adherence

"Really, are you going to hand over the seriously wounded?

"... this is all I got."

Ireneo pushes silence to the words of his boss, who brings up a bitter look.

It's easy if you're just protesting.

But it doesn't solve any more problems than it doesn't have an alternative plan.

My people's morale was down.

Heavy and bitter air like a funeral hangs on the Ireneos.

"As soon as I'm done, I'll run away. We're gonna make it through to the ship."

Irene Neo gives up and looks forward.

He had already come a distance where a large ship could maintain the highest speed and rush in to the river where it waited.

"We've discovered a point in the forest on the front left with branches."

Reports come in from front line men.

I can't confirm from the Ireneos, but my boss rang out to the chaffs who would lurk in the woods regardless.

"You guys lurking there, we need to talk!

I didn't hear back.

The sound of branches rubbing against the wind flows into the quiet woods.

I can't even feel the signs of the horses the chaffs ride.

It's still a brilliant latent gesture, Irene Neo admires.

Even if there is no response, the boss keeps saying the word, assuming that Chaff and the others are there.

"Hand over the seriously wounded. I want to ask for treatment. It's a valuable source for you too. I don't think it's a lossless deal, but what do you say?

Ireneo sighs inside, listening to his boss.

Indeed, there are advantages to securely obtaining sources of information.

But if we take Chaff and the others, we have the means to wipe out Irene and the others and then treat the breathless.

Many commanders will choose the latter.

But...

"... disarm the seriously wounded, tie their hands and feet, and leave them here"

A voice came from the back of the forest on the left.

It's not like you're not alert to the trap.

However, even on this occasion, a young man named Chaff Trinen was honest with his life.

"... thank you"

My boss says quietly and bows his head into the woods.

The Irene Neos also bowed their heads in gratitude.

"... go quickly. This is the only time I'm gonna miss it."

Now I heard voices from the forest to the right.

At some point, it must have been pinched.

By order of their superiors, Ireneo and the others leave.

I disarmed him completely, and I left him with my hands and legs tied.

I heard a discouraged sigh of a double-headed doll from inside the carriage.

"Really disarm and just hand it over. I don't know what you're thinking."

"I wonder if you haven't thought about it."

The double-headed doll mutters.

Ireneo ignored it, but his boss looked uncomfortably at the carriage.

"Ugh, puppet girl. You guys don't get it, but we're human beings."

"I really don't understand. I can't believe I'm doing this nonsense."

To a strange voice, his boss pounds his tongue.

"You'll never know."

The boss, who grumbled to throw up, looked at Irene Neo.

Drawing on the intentions of his boss, who silently pointed at the end of the road, Ireneo increased the speed of the carriage.

From here on out, we'll be running the carriage as fast as we can to the big ship.

Escape to the ship while Chaff and the others take care of the seriously injured.

Then if the double-headed doll chews even on his tongue and becomes quiet, it is your word.

Sometimes the road is ready, and the line accelerates at once.

The horses strike their hooves on the ground and move forward, roughly breathing.

Away behind as the trees that make up the left and right woods flow.

A carriage running through the wind made a noise.

Irene Neo looks up at the sky and ascertains the time.

My boss sees Chilari and Irene Neo and opens his mouth.

"We should get to the ship by dawn."

"Will there still be raids?

"There will be. It's a great opportunity for us to get on board."

The double-headed doll must always show up when switching from carriage to ship.

When the chaffs have finished protecting the seriously injured and come after them at full speed, they will just bowl together.

Ireneo predicts the time of the raid, based on the time that would be used to protect the seriously wounded.

My boss's prediction is that when I return the back, I'm unlikely to be attacked by the Chaffs until the big ship.

"... are you sure?

Ireneo disagrees with his boss's thoughts.

I've been caught scattered so far.

I can't be optimistic without the next one.

For example, even if Irene Neo and the others are the ones who are talking about the protection of the seriously injured, there is no guarantee that Chaff and the others will not expect it.

My boss listened quietly to Irene Neo's thoughts and nodded.

"My worst predictions are going to be real."

The boss ordered the front row and widened the alert network to the front.

Order the sword to continue to be pulled out and let it create a complete combat posture.

I see a division in the front.

To the right is the path that goes through the forest, to the left, and out on the road along the river.

Turn left and the rendezvous point with the big ship is right there.

"I'm gonna turn left. Watch out, the enemy might crack from the right road."

When his boss drew attention, a fellow who was consolidating his right moved slightly away from the carriage.

We've secured the distance to keep the carriage out of battle.

But without merit of vigilance, the left turn proceeded without delay.

Ireneo is surprised and looks back, which should have been a good point to ambush.

Then I saw the shadow of one cavalry at the branch of the road.

Only one cavalry disappears immediately.

"... they seem to have caught up"

"That's fast. Are you ready, as Irene Neo predicted?"

How far he is reading by fulfillment, Ireneo felt chills at the elaborateness of the plan.

"Don't worry. None of the three large ships owned by Count Sola are moving from the south. This is definitely true. If we get on the boat, there's no way out of here."

"I mean, the next raid will decide the battle," he said?

My boss nodded deeply at Irene Neo's query.

At the end of the road, a slight view of the river brightens the surface of the water in the moonlight.

That's when my buddies in the front row looked back.

"Enemy, coming from the forest to the right!

Ireneo looks at the forest to the right, alerting to flashes and closing one eye tightly.

Six horsemen from the gaps in the trees, an iron sword was erected to confirm the appearance of a cavalry with a combat posture.

My boss gives instructions to the horse with just his legs and goes around to the right of the carriage.

He poked a song knife in his right hand into the woods and raised his voice.

"This is the last time. Whatever you do, we're gonna cut through this!

Immediately after his boss inspired his people, six cavalry troops jumped out of the woods.

Like a wolf who rolled the wind, ran through the woods, and tried to bite off the larynx of his prey, the chaffs shook up an iron sword that stood out in their fangs.
