Chapter 1756: Prince Louis Is Getting Married
Justin Kingston nodded, his eyes smiling. "I’ll definitely come. From now on, Kingston Group will keep expanding its business in Lorelei. Your country has resources that are rare and hard to find even in Riventhal."
"We welcome CEO Kingston in every field! May Lorelei’s future prosperity include a share of Kingston Group’s strength as well." The King very much hoped he would turn this place into the company’s main focus.
The two of them discussed cooperation strategies and hit it off especially well.
To Justin’s surprise, the King also had a keen eye for economics; many of his ideas coincided perfectly with Justin’s.
This was their first in‑depth talk, and it felt like the regret of meeting too late.
Ian Shelby had already walked up to Jocelyn. Jocelyn’s face was all smiles, gentle as moonlight.
He reached out and held her shoulders, and, right in front of Mia Lane, said to her, "Jocelyn, let’s get married."
"When?" Jocelyn suppressed the excitement in her heart, looking at him with squinting, smiling eyes.
"After I inherit the throne, I’ll pick a good day and we’ll hold the wedding here." Ian had thought it through carefully. "But before that, I’ll go back to Riventhal with you once and formally propose to the Morgan family."
Jocelyn Morgan was deeply moved that he could think things through in such detail.
"Okay!" She nodded with a smile. No matter what difficulties they faced, she would face them together with him.
There was only one week left until the 28th.
She would stay by his side until he inherited the throne.
Ian then said to her, "Let’s go back to Riventhal after the 28th. There are some matters here that need handling, and my father’s health is still in the recovery stage."
"That’s fine."
He said, "When we’re in Riventhal, we can stay a bit longer, spend more time with your uncle and aunt, and we’ll have enough time to discuss the wedding with the two elders."
Jocelyn agreed with his arrangements.
Just now Mia had also told Jocelyn that they were planning to head back to Riventhal early tomorrow morning, and Ian had already learned about this.
Mia was very happy to see them finally about to get married after all they’d been through.
"Master, you need to get plenty of rest once you’re back. You’re a pregnant woman, after all." Ian was genuinely concerned about her. "You must be exhausted from everything these days. You’ve worked hard."
"I’m alright." Mia’s smile was radiant, and then she glanced at the girl beside him. "Hurry up and get that wedding arranged. I’m waiting to drink your wedding wine."
Ian and Jocelyn exchanged a look and smiled; the smiles on their faces grew even sweeter.
The King and Justin were having a wonderfully pleasant conversation, bursts of laughter drifting out from time to time. Then the group accompanied the King and headed toward the palace.
After all, the King’s body had not fully recovered; he needed to take his medicine on time and spend plenty of time resting in bed.
With Eden stepping down, Arthur was the most terrified.
Because he was Eden’s disciple and had followed him all these years, though he had never helped Eden do any crazed, heartless evil.
It wasn’t that he was unwilling; Eden was just too cautious and only trusted himself.
Now that General Lee was purging Eden’s remaining followers, many people were afraid of getting caught up in it, even though they hadn’t committed any crimes.
Arthur knew the suspicion on him was heavy; he didn’t know how he could defend himself if the investigation turned onto him.
Fortunately, Ian saw his fear and also trusted him, so he didn’t place any blame on Arthur.
Ian had already secretly ordered an investigation into Arthur. Arthur turned out to be a good kid, pure despite the muck he’d grown up in, so Ian took Arthur under his own wing.
The two childhood companions would also become something like Catherine and Julie.
In Princess Catherine’s palace.
Julie stood guard at the study door, watching Taylor for two hours. She just stood there, staring at him, and her legs didn’t feel tired at all.
Apart from calligraphy practice, Taylor was doing problem sets and even spent some time reading classic literature.
None of this was anything Taylor liked, but if he didn’t finish, Julie wouldn’t let him leave. Unable to win against her, he could only grit his teeth and obediently do as he was told.
When the alarm clock on the desk rang, Taylor snapped the book shut and got up to leave, walking straight out, completely ignoring Julie, moving at a near‑trotting pace.
Julie didn’t stop him; he had, after all, been studying in earnest.
The moment Taylor stepped out of the palace, he greedily gulped down the fresh air, feeling like he’d practically been suffocating just now.
"There’s going to be a happy event in the palace!" Not far away, one servant said excitedly to another, "Prince Louis is getting married!"
Just as he was stretching, Taylor’s movements froze, and he couldn’t help but knit his brows.
