Chapter 1741: A Splendid Drama
Eden was never one to back down easily. He quickly calmed down and, upon regaining his composure, stood up and began to take steps toward the King!
Although his heart was in turmoil, he still wanted to take a closer look.
"Miles Lee!" Mia Lane called out anxiously, once again using her master’s voice, "Who is he? He, like me, is a ghost!!"
"Yes, I am a ghost, thanks to the kick you gave me, I just died moments ago." She spoke again in another tone, using the King’s voice.
Eden was so frightened that he stopped in his tracks, his thick brows furrowing tightly as he stared at the shadow ahead, his throat involuntarily tightening!
Mia Lane seized the opportunity and spoke again, "Admit your mistakes to him, apologize, and kowtow a few more times before his grave. Only then will his spirit not haunt you! As your senior brother, I advise you to turn away from evil and correct your ways."
Eden thought to himself, had the King already passed?
Was he here to cause trouble just after his death?
"The resentment is too heavy, the soul is hard to disperse..." Mia Lane’s voice turned cold and eerie again, even making Julie feel frightened. What’s going on? Who else is in there?
Eden glanced around again, wanting to see if he could catch sight of his senior brother.
But he suddenly realized even the shadow of the King was gone!
BOOM! The thunder was deafening!
The entire vast room seemed to have only him left, the panic causing him to step back two more steps, involuntarily reaching his hand to grip the edge of the bed.
The room quieted down, and the only sounds left in the world were the wind and rain, as if everything earlier had been a dream.
"Driven by your own desires, you stole the medical book and embarked on the path of poison... You’ve harmed so many people and ultimately even brought harm to the head of a nation..." His senior brother’s voice was filled with sorrow.
"Miles Lee, it isn’t that there won’t be retribution, it’s just that the time has yet to come!"
The long-lost and familiar voice sounded again, causing Eden to clench the bedsheet even tighter.
Listening to these words, he quickly fell into thought. There’s no such thing as ghosts in this world, it must be that he was too tired, hadn’t rested well recently, hence the hallucinations!
So he thought, he would apologize to them, let their souls rest, and then find an opportunity to burn some paper money, exercise more, and keep these filthy things away from him.
"Miles Lee, hahaha... What you thought was foolproof was just what you thought!"
The voice filled Eden with fear!
"Senior brother, I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to push you into the well, you know I didn’t mean it, I just wanted to see that medical book back then, it was you who wouldn’t lend it to me no matter what..."
"Senior brother..." The scene from many years ago was still vivid in Eden’s mind, "I didn’t mean it, please rest in peace. I’ll burn more paper money for you tomorrow. If you have any unfulfilled wishes, tell me, I’ll fulfill them for you. People can’t be brought back from the dead, and there’s nothing I can do!"
Mia Lane’s heart ached as if torn apart. It was him, it was he who killed her master!
In the dark, in a hidden corner, Justin Kingston held her shoulders tightly.
Mia Lane, thinking of the bigger picture, suppressed her sadness and anger, switching to the King’s voice, "What about me? Eden, can I hear your apology before I’m buried?"
Did it mean he would not be held accountable just by apologizing? At least at that moment, that’s how Eden understood it.
"I’m sorry, King..." His legs buckled, and he knelt trembling, "I... I was wrong, I was selfish, I didn’t want the throne to fall into Taylor’s hands, so... so then..."
"You didn’t want it to fall into Louis’ hands either." Mia Lane spoke again, still using the King’s voice, "You wanted to inherit it yourself, didn’t you?"
"No... no, it’s not like that..." He couldn’t admit it anymore. Eden had to exonerate himself, "King, rest in peace. I will assist Prince Louis in managing Lorelei well, so you can go without worry. I will use the rest of my life to redeem my sins."
