Chapter 1732: Dealt with According to the Law
"Your Highness, I have a bad feeling." Julie’s intuition was too strong. She said solemnly, "Something big is going to happen."
"Oh, you’re always so suspicious, you’re going to scare me to death." Catherine couldn’t understand her feelings at all. "Even if Justin Kingston and Louis were friends, Justin is definitely not a bad person. His international reputation is solid, and his appearance isn’t bad either."
"He concealed the relationship, so there must be something fishy." Julie was very rational and emphasized again, "Do you want to ask him about it?"
"Didn’t you already have someone observing in secret?" Catherine didn’t want to break the thin paper window so soon, "Let’s wait a bit longer, don’t ask for now."
Julie didn’t insist anymore, feeling it wouldn’t hurt to wait, just needed to stay vigilant.
But that night, Julie didn’t sleep well, with the thunder and lightning making her feel anxious.
Catherine also couldn’t sleep well; the weather was too eerie. Even with two servants guarding outside, she still felt a bit scared.
In the entire royal family, many people did not sleep well that night.
This weather was something not seen in decades. It wasn’t raining, but when the wind howled, it felt like a horror movie scene. Lightning flashed, each bolt of white light piercing the sky. When the curtains weren’t drawn, it would make faces look pale.
In Eden’s palace, he stood in front of the bedroom window in his robe, a fierce look mixed with coldness on his face.
No lights were on in the room. Lightning after lightning split the night sky, like giant dragons flung in front of him, almost blinding his eyes.
It was unclear how long he stood at the window, like a lonely ghost, Eden finally felt a bit sleepy.
He wrapped his robe around himself and turned to bed.
In the King’s palace, Ian Shelby had just fed him some ’sour plum soup’ and checked his pulse again. His condition was a bit better today, which was reassuring.
"Father, do you support the action tomorrow night?" Ian sat on the edge of the bed, having just explained the detailed plan to him, wanting to know his thoughts.
The King leaned against the headboard, looking at his son with heavy eyes, "Are you really sure it’s Eden? Why would he want to harm me?"
"Because he wants the throne," Ian replied sadly. His uncle’s game was quite big, and the line had been drawn out quite long, planned years ago.
Being betrayed by those closest to you is a pain and disappointment that others can’t understand; it’s truly a blow.
The King sighed heavily, "If he’s really the culprit, how do you want me to deal with it?"
After all, it’s his uncle, and he was afraid his son might have concerns.
But his son replied coldly, "Deal with it according to the law." His voice was devoid of any personal feelings.
This answer surprised the King a little, but then he felt satisfied, as this way he could handle it justly.
"I will arrange for the servants to retreat," the King said, "Make sure your friends stay safe."
"Okay."
Outside, lightning flashed and thunder roared, as if about to swallow the entire earth.
"Will this kind of weather cause a tsunami today? Will it affect coastal areas? Have the meteorological departments been contacted?" Even though the King’s health was poor, he remained concerned for his people.
Ian shook his head, "There will be no impact, and it won’t cause a tsunami. The coastal areas have been notified to take emergency measures, so preventive steps have been taken. Please rest assured and sleep well."
"Okay." The King tried to lie down.
Ian went to assist him, "Father, this medicine is very effective, and your health will recover soon."
"I want to pass the throne to you." After lying down, the King held his hand and said sincerely, "Even if I am still alive, I wish to entrust it to you."
