Chapter 1748: Taylor Is Infuriated

That night, the news that Jocelyn had stayed over at Prince Louis’s palace spread like wildfire, and all the servants were delighted and secretly envious.

If the King found out about this, he’d definitely be comforted, wouldn’t he?

The servants still didn’t know that a huge upheaval had taken place in the royal family the previous night. They all thought the King wouldn’t last a week, and this would be the best news he could receive before he passed.

After all, every father hopes to see his son start a family.

The next morning.

The rain had stopped, the whole world looked spotless, and the air was unusually fresh.

Catherine got up very early and dressed herself up grandly. Just thinking that the King wasn’t going to die put her in an excellent mood; add Eden’s downfall on top of that, and she was practically bursting with joy.

Julie accompanied her with a blank expression.

"Where’s Taylor?" Catherine sat at her dressing table, putting on earrings as she asked, "Did anyone inform him last night? There’s a meeting this morning."

"We did inform him, but we didn’t have time to explain the reason. He just answered and left,"

Catherine asked again, "Has he gotten up?"

"Your Grace, the Prince has gone to the stables," Julie replied.

Catherine thought that since her son was terrible at his studies, it wasn’t a bad thing for him to at least train his body well.

Right then, Taylor, who loved sports, came out of the stables. He was wearing riding boots, full of energy and drenched in sweat.

With two guards accompanying him, he headed toward his own palace. He was quite handsome, with his fringe falling from his forehead down to the bridge of his nose.

He needed to take a shower and have breakfast first, then meet his mother later so they could go to the meeting together.

As for what kind of meeting it was, he hadn’t bothered to ask in detail and wasn’t interested anyway.

His father was refusing to see him even on his deathbed, which put him in a depressive mood.

So Taylor still didn’t know that Eden had poisoned his father, didn’t know Eden had fallen from power, and didn’t know his father could still be saved.

"I heard Miss Morgan stayed over at Prince Louis’s palace last night. Is that true?"

Two maids walked along, heads bowed, chatting away, completely unaware that Prince Taylor had just brushed past them.

But that one sentence landed in Taylor’s ears like a bomb. He stopped dead in his tracks!

His cold, sharp gaze swept toward the two maids. "Stop."

The sound made both maids’ chests tighten; their steps faltered, and they slowly turned their eyes. "P–Prince Taylor!" Frightened, they hurriedly turned around and dropped to their knees.

"W–we’re sorry, we didn’t mean to not notice you!"

"Good morning, Your Highness! Please forgive us!"

The two maids knelt without daring to raise their heads, their hearts already trembling with fear.

Taylor strode toward them. "Get up." His tone was mild; he wasn’t actually angry.

The two maids glanced at each other out of the corners of their eyes, hearts in their throats as they stood up, "..." then looked up timidly.

Taylor didn’t blame them for failing to greet him; instead, he asked, "What were you just talking about? Miss Morgan stayed at Prince Louis’s place?"

So he was fishing for information?

The maids quietly let out a breath of relief, and one of them answered honestly, "Your Highness, I saw Prince Louis with his arm around Miss Morgan’s shoulders as they went into the palace last night."

"I heard Miss Morgan spent the night inside, and she still hasn’t come out even now," the other added.

Taylor’s expression changed dramatically, and he blurted out, "How is that possible?! Are you sure you didn’t see wrong?!"

"It’s absolutely true, Your Highness, we didn’t see wrong! It really was Miss Morgan!"

"Your Highness, my sister is on duty at Prince Louis’s palace. I heard from her... Miss Morgan spent the night in Prince Louis’s palace."

Once the shock passed, Taylor was overwhelmed with irritation!

He shot them an impatient look, then turned and strode quickly toward Louis’s palace!

"Your Highness!" The two guards hurried after him, reminding him, "There’s a meeting soon! You haven’t had breakfast yet!"

He was already full of anger—who needed breakfast?!

Taylor ignored them and sped up his pace!

He just wanted to see for himself. His father wouldn’t allow him to pursue Jocelyn, yet Louis had taken advantage of his father’s grave illness and couldn’t wait to take her home for the night?!

Did he have any respect for their father at all?!
