Chapter 1764: Love You for a Lifetime
"Taylor, you were wrong in this matter." Catherine looked at her son with heartache, seeing his disheveled hair and bruised face. Her own son was beaten like this, and as a mother, her emotions were truly mixed.
But she had to persuade him that an apology must be made, and the sooner, the more sincere it would seem.
"He beat me like this, and he’s not at fault?" Taylor turned his eyes to his mother, feeling a belly full of anger, "What’s wrong with you today? Are you taking his side?"
"You were wrong first; I’m standing by reason."
"No matter how wrong I am, I don’t deserve to be beaten to death!" Taylor was furious. "If it weren’t for Jocelyn pleading for me, Louis would have beaten me to death today!"
"..." Catherine was very heartbroken. Her son’s injuries were indeed severe, even his eyes were swollen.
The mother and son exchanged glances in the car, creating a brief silence.
At this moment, in Prince Louis’s palace.
Ian Shelby carried Jocelyn upstairs, directly to the bedroom.
Her body was burning hot at this moment.
He bent down to gently place her on the bed, just about to pour her a glass of water, but Jocelyn held onto his neck even tighter, making it impossible for him to leave.
He just looked at her, so close.
Jocelyn Morgan felt terrible and didn’t want to drink any water.
Ian, however, couldn’t bear to touch her, especially under these circumstances. As a man, his heart was full of struggle.
Supporting his body with his arms, he looked down at her from a close distance, "Jocelyn, are you still conscious?"
The girl closed her eyes, nodding her head, "You’ll marry me...won’t you?" Her throat was terribly dry, like a fish out of water.
She was completely without strength, yet her mind was very clear.
"I will." Ian didn’t hesitate, "I will take responsibility for you, marry you, love you for a lifetime."
A lifetime...
What a romantic and beautiful phrase in novels.
Jocelyn Morgan’s lips curved into a bright smile, her cheeks as red as peach blossoms.
As a doctor, Ian knew clearly that it’s better to follow the procedure than to develop an antidote...he would take responsibility for her.
He also knew Jocelyn was conscious at this moment, with a yearning in her heart.
In a passionate relationship, it’s common for adults to take that step.
So, he carefully kissed her lips... using himself as the antidote.
Developing an antidote takes time, and she wouldn’t last, her body reaching its limit could cause all sorts of problems.
About two hours later.
Ian held Jocelyn’s hand as they left the room. This was their first time together, in such a situation, a bit risky, somewhat fated, and the feeling was indescribable.
In Jocelyn’s view, this kind of thing could only be done with her beloved.
The joy and beauty she felt couldn’t be put into words.
As they walked downstairs, passing the turn of the stairs, they immediately saw three people standing in the downstairs hall.
Catherine, Julie, and Taylor.
Jocelyn was inexplicably a bit nervous. She looked at Taylor, who had just been beaten not lightly, his face bruised and swollen. Was he bringing his mother here to settle scores?
Ian just paused for a moment, his expression cold as he gazed down at the three people, feeling the fire of anger rising again!
Gripping Jocelyn’s hand tightly, he led her to continue descending the stairs.
Jocelyn Morgan’s heart skipped a beat; she couldn’t predict what might happen next. Would there be a conflict?
Out of courtesy, Ian should greet the Princess, after all, she was his stepmother, an elder.
But the cold aura emanating from him now made him want to express his emotions with his fists, unwilling to waste even a word.
Catherine and Julie also felt the chill from Prince Louis. It would be difficult for him to easily forgive Taylor.
