Chapter 1696: Mia Lane’s Thoughtfulness
"Okay."
Finn Morgan took the bag of herbs from her hand and placed it in the trunk, then proceeded to put all the other bags filled with different herbs inside as well.
Mia Lane was washing her hands at the faucet a short distance away, looking around the yard. Everything felt so familiar.
Having only left for half a year, so much had happened, giving her a feeling as if an eternity had passed.
If it hadn’t been for Gigi missing her father so much, or if Gigi hadn’t been so clever as to hack Justin Kingston’s private computer to steal the Blue Sky project, she would have surely continued living here with the children...
Every day would be peaceful and fulfilling.
Perhaps all of this is just destiny’s arrangement.
But luckily, Mia Lane felt incredibly happy now. Although it was dramatic at first, genuine love followed, with hope for the future.
Finn Morgan opened the passenger side door for her; Mia Lane turned off the faucet, flicked the water droplets from her hands, and walked towards him.
After both got in the car, Finn Morgan started the engine.
"Do you have time now?" Mia Lane asked, suddenly remembering and turning to look at him.
Finn Morgan replied warmly, "Yes, I do."
"Then would you accompany me to the welfare institute?" She had something she wanted to ask her Uncle in person, fearing it might be unclear over the phone.
Finn Morgan asked, "Which welfare institute?"
"The one that saved Jocelyn, at Harlan Quinn’s place."
"Okay."
Finn Morgan didn’t pry further and didn’t ask for details; he just served as her protector, ensuring her safety.
The car quickly left Sunshine Village and headed towards the welfare institute where Harlan Quinn was.
The welfare institute was rather remote, with a tranquil environment. The children sat in the spacious and bright classroom on the second floor.
Gentle and refined Harlan Quinn, dressed in a black tunic, was holding a book, teaching the children mechanics.
"First, we must identify the object of study; is it an item or a table surface? Then proceed with the drawing order: one draw gravity, two draw elasticity, three draw friction."
Harlan Quinn spoke with a rich, warm voice, and with chalk in hand, he stepped to the blackboard.
"Now let’s tackle this problem; I have already drawn the diagram. Firstly, the diagram doesn’t mention a state of equilibrium, so initially it is affected by gravity..."
In fact, although the children at the welfare institute varied greatly in age, the knowledge they learned wasn’t all that different; everything was unified under the teachings of this multi-talented teacher. Even Sabina, at five or six years old, could understand.
Harlan Quinn taught with great patience.
As Finn Morgan’s car approached, coinciding with the end of the mechanics lesson and the sounding of the bell, arriving in the institute’s courtyard.
Finn Morgan and Mia Lane exited the car, while Harlan Quinn was descending the stairs; the sound of joyful children activity could be heard from the second floor.
Harlan Quinn was slightly taken aback upon seeing them, but quickly accelerated his pace.
"Uncle," Mia Lane greeted, stepping forward.
"Hello, Mr. Quinn," Finn Morgan politely addressed him.
"You’ve arrived!"
What surprised Harlan Quinn was that the man accompanying Mia Lane today was not CEO Kingston, but Jocelyn’s brother instead.
"Please, come in," understanding that they were certainly visiting him for a reason.
Mia Lane nodded and followed him inside, with Finn Morgan joining.
The room was somewhat simple but very clean. He invited them to sit on the sofa.
Harlan Quinn brewed tea and handed it to Finn Morgan, while Mia Lane got up and picked up a cup herself. "Uncle, besides my master and you, who else has read the medical book you gave me?"
She didn’t avoid Finn Morgan because he was one of her own.
"What happened?" Harlan Quinn turned to look at her, his heart skipping slightly, "Did something happen?" Why did she suddenly ask this?
