Chapter 30: Late-Night Benefits
「Late at night, inside the executive suite.」
Comfortably soaking in the bathtub, Gu Heng had no idea that he and Xia Siyao were already the stars of a tumultuous melodrama playing out in someone else’s mind.
Looking back on his day, he felt it was more exciting than his previous eighteen years combined.
Gorgeous women he wouldn’t have even dared to look at before now had to stand before him with lowered eyes, respectfully waiting on him.
On top of that, there were the big shots he’d never even dreamed of interacting with—whether it was the branch manager of a bank or the director of a top domestic law firm—who now had to act according to his whims.
The feeling of satisfaction was truly beyond words.
"This is what you fucking call living!"
"Before, I was just surviving!"
Gu Heng’s eyes snapped open as he couldn’t help but sigh with heartfelt emotion.
Then, he raised his arm and picked up the phone he had placed nearby.
After leaving Zhuozhan Shopping Center, Gu Heng hadn’t really checked his WhatsApp since arriving at Banquet Fusion.
Opening WhatsApp now, he saw a flood of unread messages.
Gu Heng first opened his chat with the nurse, Xu Mo. She had sent him two messages half an hour ago.
One was a photo of her fair, delicate hand holding a bag of imported nut chocolates. It looked like she was on the night shift in a break room.
The other was a voice message: "Gu Heng, this chocolate is so good, and all the other snacks are delicious too! Thank you for feeding me. When I have a day off, can I treat you to a meal, please?"
Xu Mo’s voice was sweet and pleasant. Just listening to it, Gu Heng couldn’t help but picture her healthy, rosy, oval-shaped face and her beautiful, crescent-moon eyes when she smiled.
"Sure."
"Just let me know in advance when you have a day off."
Gu Heng held down the voice message button and replied to Xu Mo.
After replying to Xu Mo, Gu Heng moved on to his other unread messages.
One was from Jiang Ruan, and the other from Luo Xiwen.
The former had messaged to ask about his driving experience, while the latter was thanking him for the Helena gift set he’d given her.
Seeing this, Gu Heng replied to both of them accordingly.
And just as Gu Heng was replying to Jiang Ruan and Luo Xiwen, Xu Mo quickly responded as well.
Even though it was nearly midnight, she was still chirping away like a lark.
And so, Gu Heng chatted with Xu Mo on WhatsApp while continuing to deal with his other messages.
After clearing his unread messages, Gu Heng started going through his new friend requests.
Most were from the legal elites at Jun Cheng Law Firm, along with a recent request from Xia Siyao, and finally, the girl he’d run into at Zhuozhan—Liu Nanyi.
"Hey handsome, it’s Liu Nanyi~"

Liu Nanyi had tried to add Gu Heng a full three times, her last attempt filled with a host of pitiful emoticons and kaomoji.
’So girls can be this forward too.’

Gu Heng shook his head. Seeing how persistent she was, he casually accepted her request.
DING—!
Gu Heng had barely accepted Liu Nanyi’s request—not even two minutes had passed—when a message came through from her.
"Hey handsome, I finally got you!!!"
"Thank god I didn’t give up!!!"
The two lines were fired off one after another, immediately followed by a photo.
Judging by the background, she was on her own bed, wearing a pale yellow slip nightdress. Her face was fair and makeup-free, but even without it, her looks were still stunning.
Her delicate collarbones and snow-white shoulders were exposed, and in the background, you could faintly see her small, upturned feet.
Seeing this, Gu Heng couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.

On top of that, Gu Heng’s immense wealth and his seemingly mysterious background were all huge bonus points in Liu Nanyi’s eyes.
In comparison, all the other guys she’d met over the past two days, whether they were freshmen or upperclassmen a few years older, paled in comparison to Gu Heng.

Liu Nanyi saw that her message had gone out with no reply, like a stone dropped into the ocean. She was starting to feel a little anxious. Just then, seeing the frequent messages from Wang Hao, she felt an inexplicable wave of annoyance.

But then, an image of the dignified and elegant mature beauty who had been following Gu Heng earlier today couldn’t help but surface in her mind.
Before she knew it, she had opened her front-facing camera and was subconsciously adjusting the angle to make her small feet look even more petite and cute.
She took several shots in a row. Blushing, Liu Nanyi finally picked the one that looked the best and even used her iPhone’s built-in editing function to touch up the picture slightly.
Liu Nanyi stared at her chat window with Gu Heng, hesitated again and again, and finally, gritting her teeth, sent it.
Then, she tossed her phone aside and buried her face in her pillow.

’So embarrassing!’

Gu Heng stared at it for a long time. He had originally wanted to offer a critique—to say that Liu Nanyi’s pose looked a little stiff.
But then, he looked down.
