Chapter 1345: You Don’t Have Faith in Him?
Faced with a table full of delicacies, Xia Yinian had no appetite.
It wasn’t that the food looked unappetizing; an Imperial Palace feast—she hadn’t even had the chance to taste one before, let alone see it.
Unfortunately, her mind was elsewhere, and she couldn’t savor the taste.
"What is your name?" the man, sitting three or four meters away, spoke softly.
The table was long, with only two people present, each seated at one end, and the entire table was filled with dishes.
"Xia Yinian, and you?" Xia Yinian replied with little interest, casually glancing up at him.
"Jing Hanye." The man’s pleasant voice resonated.
"Oh." Xia Yinian nodded.
"Is the food not to your taste?" the man asked softly.
Seeing that he seemed a bit concerned, Xia Yinian perked up.
"It’s not that the food isn’t good, I’m just worried about my friends. Young Master Jing, can’t you lend me a phone for a bit?"
She didn’t even understand why he asked her to stay, worried that he might suddenly vanish from her sight, so Xia Yinian didn’t dare mention leaving.
"You don’t have confidence in him?" Jing Hanye raised an eyebrow.
Xia Yinian didn’t pay attention to his "him", assuming he was referring to the friend she mentioned.
"It’s not about having no confidence; now that I’m fine, I don’t want to trouble them anymore," she explained.
"Let’s eat first," the man’s voice interrupted.
Eat first? What does that mean? Does it mean he’s giving her a phone to use?
This man, how could he be more unpredictable than her Beicheng?
Xia Yinian deliberately sighed deeply, hoping to catch the man’s attention.
Unfortunately, he’d already picked up what appeared to be very expensive tableware and started eating.
In front of someone she couldn’t even vent her frustration to, Xia Yinian felt truly helpless.
"Young Master, you don’t need to..."
"No need."
The servant’s words were cut off directly by Jing Hanye.
The servant had a look of wanting to speak but ultimately stayed silent.
Xia Yinian pursed her lips, lowered her head, scooped a spoonful of soup, and put it in her mouth.
"Sister Rong, is today’s soup a bit too salty?" the man across suddenly spoke.
"Young Master, are you able to taste without needing the medicine?" The maid stepped forward excitedly.
"Yes." Jing Hanye nodded, and his complexion seemed quite good.
"That’s wonderful. I didn’t expect the Divine Doctor’s method to be so effective. You went up the mountain for two days..."
Sister Rong was excited but realized something and immediately stopped talking.
Glancing at Xia Yinian, she lowered her head and went over to get an empty bowl, scooping a bit of soup from the small pot.
She tasted it lightly and licked her lips.
"Sorry, Young Master, tonight’s flavor was tested by Uncle Ya; it is indeed a bit strong. I’ll replace it immediately."
"It’s just a little, no matter." The man waved it off.
"Yes, Young Master." The maid took away the used bowl.
Taking another sip of soup, Jing Hanye lightly pursed his lips as if savoring a fine dish.
"May I call you Nian Nian?" He looked up at the person across from him, with a barely noticeable smile at the corner of his mouth.
"Mm." Xia Yinian looked at him, swallowed the soup in her mouth, and nodded.
"Nian Nian, do you find the soup’s taste too strong?" Jing Hanye asked softly.
Now he was indeed somewhat different from before.
It’s not that his expression changed much; it just felt different.
Earlier, he was very gloomy, yet suddenly he had brightened considerably.
