Chapter 1337: Looking for Help?
Xia Yinian felt that, whether or not the people who grabbed her today were working for him, at the very least he had a reason for hauling her into the car.
"A reason?" The man turned his head to look at her, frowning slightly.
That overly devilish face made Xia Yinian freeze for a moment without meaning to.
If a man this handsome were actually a good guy, how perfect would that be?
Features flawless, skin fair, lips red and inviting, tall figure, long legs...
Thinking of how he’d silently hurled her into the car from such a distance in just a few seconds, his skills were clearly top-notch too.
In terms of looks, he was practically perfect, but what kind of person he really was, that she couldn’t say.
"Otherwise what? Are you trying to tell me you’re just naturally that helpful, that you like to wander up the mountain for no reason to see if anyone needs a hand, go looking for people to help?"
Xia Yinian’s slender willow-leaf brows arched; the round eyes from just now were now half-squinted as she looked at the man beside her.
"Go looking for people to help?" The man’s lips curled without him realizing it, as if he were in a pretty good mood.
The driver in front thought he must have seen it wrong.
There was a screen in front of him that showed what was happening in the back; it had been installed to make it easier for him to look after the young master.
Whenever the young master spoke or showed any expression or movement, he did his best to keep an eye on it.
Seeing the young master, who’d had a stone-cold face all day, actually smile, he even rubbed his eyes, completely unable to believe what he was seeing.
But the steering wheel was still in his hands, so the driver dared not get careless.
If anything went wrong, even ten thousand lives wouldn’t be enough to make up for it.
"Yeah." Xia Yinian nodded. "If that’s not it, you can explain, and maybe I’ll believe you."
She’d met plenty of handsome people who were all good guys, so Xia Yinian kept feeling that the man beside her wasn’t a bad person—otherwise he wouldn’t deserve that face, would he?
Still, she knew people’s hearts were unfathomable; she couldn’t jump to conclusions so fast.
"If that’s what you think, then sure. I don’t care." The man leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes.
"Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?" Seeing how genuinely unconcerned he looked, Xia Yinian reached over and gave him a tug.
She was practically dying inside; she was only pretending to be calm. Could he really not see that?
Her disappearance was something Beicheng and Third Brother would definitely know about; did he have any idea how worried they must be?
Xia Yinian’s actions seemed to have no effect on the man whatsoever.
If she hadn’t touched him, Xia Yinian wouldn’t even have realized his clothes seemed to be wet.
Looking down at the bath towels neatly folded in the cabinet, she gave him a serious once-over and finally realized he hadn’t bothered to brush off the snow on him just now.
Now that the snow had melted, his hair and clothes were all wet to varying degrees.
But that was outside the range of things she needed to care about.
"Hey, um, if you really did save me out of the kindness of your heart, then lend me your phone for a bit, let me make a call home so they know I’m safe."
The only thing she could do was try to be a little more polite.
The man’s eyes remained closed, and he didn’t move at all.
She looked at the chaotic world outside, then back at his calm face, and Xia Yinian had no idea how to put her feelings into words.
"Hey, lend me your phone for a minute. I got kidnapped today, my family is freaking out. Can you please let me make one call first?"
She didn’t dare touch him again; it didn’t feel appropriate.
Especially after he closed his eyes, there was this aura of keeping everyone a thousand miles away that actually made Xia Yinian a little scared.
"Lady, please don’t disturb our young master’s sleep." The driver in front reminded her.
