Centurion Yale nodded, then looked at the Beastmen below and instructed, "Chiliarch Masaka, I’ll have you lead a batch of sacrificial fodder to launch a probing attack, inspect the enemy’s defense facilities."

A Beastman officer clad in thick armor stood up from his seat and shouted loudly, "Yes, Centurion sir!"

Next, he carried his war axe and walked out of the tent, and not long after, a long, melodious horn sounded outside.

Soon, a force of hundreds of troops successfully gathered, these were the private soldiers of Chiliarch Masaka’s family.

The strength of these soldiers was fairly good, each had the combat strength of Black Iron Tier, and the best among them had even broken through to Bronze Tier.

The low-tier soldiers wore simple cloaks, and the defense offered by these leather armors was negligible; some were even weaker than the natural defense of Beastmen’s fur.

Driven by these Beastman soldiers, more sacrificial fodder was chased out from the camp.

The races of the sacrificial fodder were varied, there was everything.

There were goblins, sheep-headed monsters, wild boar men, lizardmen, etc., all slaves from small tribes recently conquered by the Beastmen.

Chiliarch Masaka walked among the sacrificial fodder, carrying his war axe.

He was clad in thick enchanted armor, covered with dense runes, with spiritual light occasionally flickering on the runes.

As the spiritual light came and went, the armor’s defense was fully displayed.

"You filthy slaves, luck has come your way!

See that small fortress up there?

As long as you breach this city, I will set you free!"

Chiliarch Masaka grinned widely, his red tongue flicking among his teeth, enticing the sacrificial fodder with his words.

"Distribute the weapons to them!"

Chiliarch Masaka waved his large hand, and the Beastmen behind him brought forth a large batch of worn-out leather armors and weapons.

These protective gear and weapons were varied, former weapons of tribal warriors from various small tribes.

Of course, they were all of poor quality.

The good protective gear and weapons had already been seized by the Beastmen, they wouldn’t return them.

The sacrificial slaves stared blankly at the protective gear and broken weapons piled before them, giving rise to somewhat cold silence.

Chiliarch Masaka didn’t waste words, he walked up to the sacrificial slaves carrying his war axe.

Then he raised his war axe, cutting downward to split a sheep-headed monster in half, blood spurting from the monster’s halved body.

"What are you still staring for? Get moving!"

Chiliarch Masaka’s roar, combined with the bloody corpse beside him, completely woke these sacrificial fodders.

They howled and rushed to grab the protective gear and weapons.

The sacrificial fodder fought over the better weapons and protective gear, sometimes even clashing over them, fighting in place.

Finally, after everything was distributed, the Beastmen set forth, driving the sacrificial slaves to climb up the mountain roads.

The majority of the Beastmen’s equipment was not good; as for the sacrificial slaves’ equipment, there was even less to speak of, with much of it being mismatched armor.

Moreover, much of this armor was damaged leather that provided negligible defense.

As for weapons, many were made of bone, with some iron weapons also in disrepair, casting doubt on whether such poor-quality weapons could even pierce enemy skin.

As they climbed the mountain, the fervor from fighting over equipment with other sacrificial fodder gradually cooled.

These sacrificial fodders looked at the Tiger Suppression Fortress halfway up the mountain, and at its tens of meters-high walls, their legs grew weak.

Some fodder began to slack, slowing down their steps.

But the Beastmen behind them wouldn’t tolerate slackers, they followed the sacrificial slaves, serving as supervisors, kicking any fodder who walked too slow.

Finally, as the sacrificial slaves dragged their feet, they reached the attack position for the Tiger Suppression Fortress.

The Tiger Suppression Fortress was built on the mountainside, where the terrain was slightly more level.

The eastern wall was defended by Shen Zhongyun’s summoned creatures, facing directly toward the enemy’s attack.

The fortress was built along the mountain, the north and south sides and Fang Zhou’s defended west also offered ample areas for enemy attack, with the only difference being that the enemy needed to go around.

"Attack!" Ordered a Bronze Tier Beastman officer, commanding the runner beside him to blow the horn.

Under the threat of the Beastmen behind them, the sacrificial fodder shouted and screamed, launching a charge.

Most of this fodder was of Apprentice Tier strength, only a small part reached Black Iron Tier, but their combat strength was weak.

They carried simple long ladders, their only siege equipment, pathetically poor.

The Beastmen certainly had better siege equipment like cloud ladders and siege carts, but they wouldn’t share them with the sacrificial slaves.

This probing attack consisted of nearly a thousand sacrificial fodders divided into four groups to simultaneously assault the fortress’s four walls.

Even at Fang Zhou’s side, some two or three hundred fodder screamed while carrying ladders.

Although the sacrificial slaves were pitiful, the garrison spared no sympathy, skillfully aiming with bows and crossbows.

Following the orders of the grassroots officers, they began firing upon the sacrificial fodder below the fortress.

The gravity array was activated, forcing the sacrificial fodder to climb the walls obediently.

Of course, even if it wasn’t activated, it wouldn’t matter, as this fodder strength couldn’t leap tens of meters anyway.

Suka was one of the sacrificial fodder below the fortress.

He was a talented member of the sheep-headed monster tribe, with Bronze Tier strength.

A month ago, his tribe faced the Beastmen’s military front.

As expected, all sheep-headed monsters daring to resist were beheaded.

Only by timely surrendering did he miraculously escape with his life.

Currently, he wore protective gear snatched using his Bronze Tier strength.

This leather armor fit poorly, with a penetrating tear, offering minimal defense.

But, this might be key to Suka’s survival.

The howling began, and the attack commenced!

Behind him, a Beastman shaman ordered Beastman warriors to drag a sacrificial fodder over, cutting its throat with a sharp knife.

The peculiar talisman in hand absorbed the sacrificial fodder’s blood like a sponge, and as this Silver Tier Beastman shaman recited spells, the magic Frenzy was released.

A red light enveloped dozens of fodders ahead, immediately changing their aura.

From timid sacrificial fodder to bloodthirsty beasts.

With the officer’s attack command, one Frenzy spell after another was cast upon the rest of the fodder.

Though Suka had reached Bronze Tier strength, under the influence of Frenzy, his eyes turned blood-red, and his muscles involuntarily exerted and swelled.

Upon the wall, arrows fired from magic energy crossbows pinned each fodder tightly to the ground.

Arrowheads aided by immense kinetic energy easily pierced the flimsy armor of the sacrificial fodder, ripping their flesh.

Suka ran while struggling to keep his blood-red eyes open, wanting to see the incoming arrows.

Relying on the sheep-headed monster’s scale armor, coupled with his Bronze Tier strength, he had a chance to endure one shot from a magic energy crossbow.

But Suka had no wish to be hit.

On this bloody battlefield, being injured equates to death.

"Kill!"

Suka roared, shouted, and climbed a long ladder raised by other fodders.

With a half-broken iron blade gripping in his mouth, he quickly climbed towards the top of the wall using his hands and feet.

"Ha... ha..."

Suka panted heavily, narrowly dodging an arrow while climbing the long ladder, then suddenly leaping up to reach the battlement.

"Kill!"

Now with blood-red eyes under the effect of Frenzy, Suka grinned widely, spit flying involuntarily.

But the scene upon climbing up shook him to his core.

On the wall, there were no living beings, only numerous Bronze Tier corpse warriors poised and ready.
