"Since I can’t stop your decision, I can only accompany you."

Si Mo’s words struck the softest part of Mu Qingge’s heart. A wave of emotion called ’touch’ overflowed from the crack he had made deep within.

"Why are you so foolish?" Countless words clogged Mu Qingge’s heart, yet in the end, this was all she could say.

Si Mo, however, flashed a charming smile, and lightly tapped Mu Qingge’s nose with his finger. "Am I foolish? This is the most wise decision I’ve made as your lord."

"But a thousand years..." A hint of urgency appeared in Mu Qingge’s eyes.

Si Mo pulled her into his embrace, pressing her cheek against the spot over his heart, his chin gently rubbing the top of her head. His deep voice, intoxicating like aged wine, slowly resonated: "Isn’t this good? Though in life we might not share time, in death we can. Spare yourself from the suffering of leaving me behind in a thousand years. You won’t have to fear the terror of those thousand years, as I will always be by your side."

Mu Qingge felt her throat choke up, her eyes growing misty.

She always believed herself to be a cold-hearted person, never easily moved, nor prone to sentimentality. Yet in this moment, she was defeated.

She surrendered all the pride of a warrior, quietly nestling into the embrace of her man like any ordinary woman, feeling the shelter and warmth he provided.

Si Mo’s words left her speechless.

She was even somewhat tempted by his words, believing that such an ending is indeed the best.

A blue light enveloped both of them. Since Si Mo’s appearance, Taiyi Venerable hadn’t spoken to Mu Qingge again; he seemed to have abruptly gone silent, or perhaps vanished.

The blue light directly affected their souls.

That kind of pain, a thousand times or even a hundred thousand times stronger than the worst physical suffering, made Mu Qingge involuntarily let out a soft ’uh’.

As soon as she made that sound, Si Mo held her tighter and whispered in her ear, "It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt."

The soft comfort from the man, as if soothing a misbehaving child, amused Mu Qingge. He was enduring the same pain, yet he could still appease her so nonchalantly.

Suddenly, the blue light ignited like a flame.

The pain of soul-tearing came abruptly, without warning, compelling both Mu Qingge and Si Mo to groan in pain. Yet, they held each other tighter, unwilling to let go.

Their unusual state within the blue light drew the attention of everyone in the tomb chamber.

In an instant, the atmosphere turned tense.

At that moment, Mu Qingge and Si Mo both sensed their souls burning in sacrifice.

A crisp sound suddenly arose around them.

The blue light surrounding them shattered like glass, disappearing. The ground beneath them burst with a blinding light, emanating from the barrier and enveloping the entire tomb chamber.

In the blink of an eye, the light vanished.

Both the two individuals within the barrier and the hundreds in the tomb chamber had disappeared without a trace.

...

Mu Qingge staggered slightly, then fell into a familiar and warm embrace.

"Be careful," Si Mo’s voice echoed in her ear.

After regaining her balance, Mu Qingge looked up and found herself back in the heart of the tomb where Taiyi Venerable’s sarcophagus was placed. The illusory figure remained seated on the throne, and in his palm was the Chaos Divine Status.

"Congratulations, you have passed the trial," Taiyi Venerable spoke.

Passed the trial!

Mu Qingge was surprised as she quickly examined herself, finding no trace of sacrificial marks on her soul. Moreover, her previously damaged soul had fully recovered and was even more refined than before.

She looked at Si Mo in shock, and he gave a barely perceptible nod.

Clearly, he had also checked his soul, and the condition should be similar to Mu Qingge’s.

Their souls were unharmed, yet Taiyi Venerable claimed she had passed the trial?

"I don’t understand, Venerable Taiyi," Mu Qingge said directly, looking at the illusory figure of Taiyi Venerable.

"Venerable Taiyi?" Upon hearing Mu Qingge’s words, Si Mo also turned his gaze to the figure, his amber eyes narrowing as though pondering something.

A moment later, his eyes lit up with realization, understanding who this figure truly was!

He was indeed the first and only master recorded to possess the Chaos Divine Status.

"Don’t ask me, I don’t know why either. This is Chaos’s own decision," Taiyi Venerable straightforwardly responded.

Chaos’s own decision?

Mu Qingge was taken aback.

She almost couldn’t believe it.

Yet, Taiyi Venerable gently raised his hand, and the Chaos Divine Status slowly approached Mu Qingge, directly entering her forehead. It wasn’t until the Chaos Divine Status embedded itself into her forehead that she realized everything was real.

Right now, she couldn’t help but marvel at the process of obtaining the Chaos Divine Status; she had no words to express it.

"What Chaos actually is, no one knows. Back in our cultivation days, we didn’t rely on such things. But as everyone began to discover their helpfulness in improving one’s cultivation and talents, they became commonly used. Gradually, descendants started rendering them naturally. What really are they? Perhaps a realm," Taiyi Venerable slowly explained.

His words left both Mu Qingge and Si Mo somewhat bewildered.

Especially Si Mo, the lord of the Demon Realm, having existed for tens of thousands of years, understood both Divine Status and Demon Spirit as innate traits of the Divine and Demon Clans. He had never heard such rhetoric from Taiyi Venerable before, nor read about it in any text.

"Realm..." Mu Qingge murmured these words, her eyes filled with contemplation.

She too didn’t understand Taiyi Venerable’s words, yet she easily committed them to memory.

"You two, not bad... Handle this well," Taiyi Venerable concluded, with the throne’s illusory figure dissipating into nothingness, as if the whole tomb chamber’s radiance dimmed.

"Venerable Taiyi!" Mu Qingge called out softly.

She felt there were still many questions she wished to ask Taiyi Venerable.

However, as soon as she spoke, Si Mo seized her hand and said, "He has already left."

Left...

Mu Qingge felt somewhat lost within, seemingly due to the vast unknown that arose. Though she couldn’t ascertain what this pursuit of origins represented, her heart naturally longed for answers despite the current uncertainty.

"Let us depart," Si Mo said to Mu Qingge.

"Wait." Mu Qingge turned back and grasped Si Mo’s wrist, placing two fingers over her pulse.

Upon examining her pulse, Mu Qingge’s face darkened. She lifted her eyes to look at Si Mo, reproaching, "You’re indeed hurt. Can’t you stop being reckless?"

The Primordial Venerable Tomb, is it so easy to venture into?

Whether it’s the Primordial Venerable or the Chaos Divine Status who set the barrier, is it easy to enter?

This man, clearly injured, yet pretending to be fine; if she didn’t understand alchemy, she would have been fooled by him.

"Take this." Mu Qingge took out a healing elixir and directly fed it to Si Mo.

Si Mo did not resist but obediently swallowed the elixir. His amber eyes were filled with tenderness and affection.

"Can we leave now?" After taking the elixir, Si Mo asked again.

He didn’t want to stay here any longer. After all, this is a place for the dead, and as the living, it’s better not to linger.

"Hold on." Yet Mu Qingge refused again.

With Si Mo’s perplexed look, Mu Qingge looked at the stone beneath her feet that seemed like jade but wasn’t, and asked, "Do you know what this is? I feel it contains a power similar to Spirit Stone, but it’s different."

"This is called Divine Jade, the standard currency on the Divine Demon Continent between the Four Seas Divine Land, also a cultivation resource. Its use is similar to Spirit Stone. Upon entering the Divine Demon Continent, one’s spiritual power transforms. On the Four Seas Divine Land it’s Divine Spiritual Power and on Taixuan Demon Realm it’s Demon Spiritual Power. The stones there are called Demon Jade, which are black." Si Mo explained with a smile to Mu Qingge.

"Divine Jade and Demon Jade!" Mu Qingge murmured lightly.

Si Mo nodded and said, "Records state that the mountains and seas have Spirit Veins, producing black and white stones within, containing Heaven and Earth Primordial Power, can be cultivated."

Mu Qingge raised her eyebrows, understanding completely.

"Since this is such a treasure, and there’s so much left unused here, it’s a waste. I had a connection with Taiyi Venerable, so I can see that he’s not one to be wasteful. Before leaving, I’ll take these Divine Jades, letting them serve their purpose, which is better than leaving them here to waste away." Mu Qingge earnestly tried to rationalize her ’tomb raiding’.

Si Mo found it amusing but was happy to play along, nodding, "Yes, Little Ge’er, you’re not wrong. Leaving these Divine Jades here is wasteful; taking them out counts as a merit."

"You think it’s reasonable too, don’t you?" Mu Qingge’s eyes sparkled as she said excitedly.

Si Mo nodded with a pampering gaze towards her.

"In that case, I won’t be polite!" Finished speaking, Mu Qingge waved her hand, extracting all the Divine Jade floor from the tomb chamber into her space.

Once she pulled out the floor, she realized the slabs covering the chamber weren’t just thin sheets as she imagined, but six feet thick, taller than a person!

"We’ve struck it rich!" Mu Qingge’s eyes flashed with intense light as she accelerated the collection of these Divine Jades.

Suddenly, the Primordial Venerable Tomb began to tremble violently.

Mu Qingge’s expression changed as she exclaimed, "Is it because I took away the floors?"

Si Mo shook his head and smiled, "It’s unrelated to you; it’s because the time for the Divine Tomb and Demon Tomb overlap has ended, and now they must separate again."

"Divine Tomb and Demon Tomb separate again? That means the Primordial Venerable Tomb will vanish too!" Mu Qingge murmured.

Next, they were encased in two light beams descending from the sky, taking them away.

Simultaneously, at the overlap of the Divine Tomb and Demon Tomb, everywhere with people was similarly enveloped in such light, absorbing people away.

Earlier in the Primordial Venerable Tomb, Mu Qingge and Si Mo were taken to the tomb chamber at the heart, while others were expelled from the tomb, scattered across the overlap.

They remained bewildered, not understanding what happened before being absorbed away.

Once they regained footing, they found themselves back to where they ought to be.

However, they were separated from some previous companions.

For example, at this moment, Xi Qianxue was with Ji Yaohua, whereas Ying Ze, Wei Molili, and Yao Xinghai were not present.

Mu Qingge and Si Mo reappeared hand in hand.

"Divine Tomb," Si Mo noted the scene before him, slightly raising his handsome brow.

Mu Qingge turned to him, teasing, "Is the Demon Lord visiting the Divine Tomb for the first time?"

Si Mo nodded with a smile, "Thanks to the Princess."

The two looked at each other and laughed; though fleeting moments, they felt a sense of survival, cherishing each other more.

"You brat, you’re here after all!" Suddenly, a discordant voice interrupted.

The tone was blatantly aimed at Mu Qingge.

Si Mo still wore a smile, but his gaze turned cold. Slowly, he turned to look at the three-legged Golden Crow standing in front of them, leaning on a cane with a lame leg.

"Who is he?"

Mu Qingge snorted, mocking, "An old bird I can’t shake off."

Three-legged Golden Crow’s expression changed upon hearing, turning grim.

Si Mo chuckled, nonchalantly suggesting to Mu Qingge, "If you can’t shake him off, just kill him."

"Sure, but I’m still no match for him." Mu Qingge smiles and nods.

Si Mo smiled indulgently, "No problem, I’m here."

The two conversed as if alone, enraging the three-legged Golden Crow to a grotesque expression.

"You two, you’re simply..."

Bang—!

Sadly, before he could finish, his entire being exploded into a blood mist, dying unexpectedly. Meanwhile, Mu Qingge and Si Mo stood side by side, unmoving, while Si Mo’s hand merely lifted as if casually grabbing at nothing.

Mu Qingge clicked her tongue, enviously watching him, "When will I be that imposing?"

Si Mo smiled reassuringly, "Soon, my Little Ge’er is very capable."

"You should return; after all, you’re the Demon Realm master. If found in this Divine Tomb by the Divine Clan, it’ll give them a reason to confront you." Mu Qingge advised Si Mo.

Si Mo did not refuse, nodded, "Alright, take care of yourself."

Si Mo departed, and three days quickly passed. Once time ended, everyone was instantly expelled from the Divine Tomb...
