"Kid, watch your mouth. That’s your father-in-law you’re talking to," Liu Mu said with mock seriousness. "Honestly, even I’m jealous. You have so many powerful fathers-in-law!"

"Ahem, Father-in-law, are you patting yourself on the back? Dare I say that’s a bit shameless?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but retort.

"Buzz off! I am your father-in-law!" Liu Mu snapped irritably.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang just grinned. He was so used to joking around with Liu Mu that he couldn’t switch gears so quickly. Besides, Liu Mu wasn’t truly angry; he understood Lin Kuang’s personality very well.

"Father-in-law, why don’t you stay for dinner tonight?" Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Since you’re already here, you should at least meet my father and the others, right?"

"Well, seeing as you’re so sincere, I suppose I’ll accept," Liu Mu replied with a smile.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but roll his eyes. I was just making a casual offer. Of course, he couldn’t say that out loud, or he’d definitely get an earful.

"By the way, what exactly does my second father-in-law do? I heard he has his own organization?" Lin Kuang asked curiously.

Liu Mu nodded. "The second one does indeed have his own forces, but they’re mostly based abroad. He doesn’t have much of a presence domestically. After all, the Wumi Building operates here."

"Okay, but what does he actually *do*? You seem to have avoided the main point," Lin Kuang said, a little frustrated.

"Kid, if you keep talking to me like that, I won’t tell you another thing!" Liu Mu shot back, annoyed. This brat was too arrogant, talking to his own father-in-law like that. He was asking for a thrashing!

"Ahem, Father-in-law, I was just teasing you a little," Lin Kuang said with a placating grin. "Ahem, go on, please tell me. I promise I won’t joke around this time."

"That’s more like it. You’ve heard of the Dark Council, haven’t you?" Liu Mu asked, giving Lin Kuang a meaningful look.

Lin Kuang nodded eagerly. "Of course! The Dark Council is a major power in the international underworld. How could I not know about them?"

"Good. The second one’s influence permeates the entire Dark Council. You could say that within the council, he’s the top dog. The Dark Council is essentially the force he commands," Liu Mu stated with the utmost gravity.

Lin Kuang’s jaw nearly hit the floor. Damn, the Dark Council! The real Dark Council! My second father-in-law is in charge of it? Holy hell, it doesn’t get more badass than that!

"How about that? Shocking, right?" Liu Mu chuckled. "Heh, if the second one wasn’t such a big deal, do you think I would’ve dared to say we could help Britney? If he throws his full support behind her, the Blood Clan will only be able to watch helplessly. However, now isn’t the time to reveal our hand. If Britney can handle the mess with the Blood Clan on her own, she’ll secure an unshakeable position of leadership among them. No one under her command will dare to defy her. That’s why the second one hasn’t intervened yet."

Lin Kuang nodded emphatically. Liu Mu was right. A kingdom you conquer yourself is truly your own; one built for you by others is never stable. The thought filled Lin Kuang with excitement, and he felt completely reassured. With the Dark Council secretly backing her, how could Britney possibly be in danger? Even if she was, the Blood Clan would be powerless once the Dark Council made its move. Unless they were prepared for an all-out war, they would never dare to clash head-on with the Dark Council.

Realizing this, Lin Kuang spoke up. "Father-in-law, when you see my second father-in-law, please thank him for me."

"At least you have some decency, kid. I’ll pass it along when I see him," Liu Mu said with a smile.

Lin Kuang grinned and nodded. "Of course. When it comes to having a conscience, mine is top-notch."

"Give me a break. Give you an inch and you’ll take a mile," Liu Mu retorted good-naturedly.

"Ahem, but isn’t it true?" Lin Kuang couldn’t resist asking.

"Yes, yes, it’s true that your skin is incredibly thick!" Liu Mu shot back.

"Fine. If being thick-skinned gets you what you want, then I’ll just be thick-skinned," Lin Kuang declared proudly.

With that, Liu Mu was utterly defeated by the boy’s shamelessness. He’d met shameless people before, but never anyone on Lin Kuang’s level. The two of them chatted for a while longer before leaving the study to join the women.

Around five that afternoon, Lin Guodong returned by car. He was surprised to see Liu Mu and welcomed him with tears of joy. After all, not only were they in-laws, but the Wumi Building had also provided immense help, for which Lin Guodong was deeply grateful.

"Father, when will Second Uncle get here?" Lin Kuang asked. He saw no need for secrecy, since the only people present were his women, his father, and his father-in-law.

"It might still be a little while," Lin Guodong replied with a smile after a moment’s thought.

Lin Kuang nodded, not feeling any particular rush. They could start cooking once his uncle arrived. With that in mind, the group settled into a lively conversation. About twenty minutes later, Lin Zhan arrived by car, and the family was finally all together.

Lin Kuang and the women went to the kitchen to cook, leaving Lin Guodong, Lin Zhan, and Liu Mu in the living room. Upon learning Lin Zhan’s identity, Liu Mu was quite astonished. He never would have expected the powerful leader of the Dragon Front to be a member of the Lin Family. Even the Wumi Building was unaware of that fact, which just went to show how carefully Old Master Lin had concealed it.

Over an hour later, Lin Kuang and the women finished preparing dinner. They had made more than ten dishes, each one a feast for the eyes, nose, and palate. The family gathered in the dining room, and the atmosphere was incredibly lively as they ate and chatted, and time flew by.

Before they knew it, it was past ten o’clock.

"Everyone, I should be going," Liu Mu announced, standing up. "There are still quite a few things at the Wumi Building that need my attention. We’ll see each other again soon."

Lin Guodong and Lin Zhan tried to persuade him to stay, but Liu Mu genuinely had business to attend to and insisted on leaving.

Everyone walked him to the main gate. Liu Shilin was the most reluctant to see him leave. She hadn’t seen her father in years, and now that they were finally reunited, he was leaving again. Naturally, she was sad to see him go. Fortunately, Liu Mu was no longer in hiding and could see her whenever he wanted, which cheered her up considerably.

After watching Liu Mu’s car drive away, the group returned to the dining room and began to clean up. Once the dishes were cleared and put away, Lin Kuang and his women retired to their respective rooms.
