Chapter 755 - 756: Blood Clan Tactics
Seeing Lin Kuang charge over, Delar, who had transformed into a gigantic bat, couldn’t help but sneer. "Easterner, I admit your strength is formidable, but before my true form, you’re no match!"
Delar then shot forward, flapping his great wings. His speed surged in an instant, reaching a terrifying velocity. Even Lin Kuang was shaken by the display; the vampire’s speed was astounding—even faster than his own!
As Lin Kuang was processing this, Delar was already upon him, his hands transformed into giant claws that viciously swiped at his head. Instinctively, Lin Kuang evaded, dodging the attack in a flash. At the same time, he swung his sword again. Sparkling True Qi shimmered on the Nameless Sword as he slashed directly at Delar’s wings. In Lin Kuang’s view, severing the creature’s wings would rob him of his extreme speed.
However, the moment Lin Kuang’s sword cut through the air, Delar’s wings retracted with blinding speed, causing the attack to miss its mark. Simultaneously, Delar’s assault came again; his clawed feet reached for Lin Kuang’s arms while his taloned hands targeted Lin Kuang’s head.
Watching the coordinated attack, Lin Kuang’s expression shifted.
He’s really tough to deal with! he thought.
The next moment, Lin Kuang’s body blurred away, causing Delar’s attack to miss. The Nameless Sword in his hand suddenly thrust upwards, aimed viciously at Delar’s heart. Seeing this, Delar’s wings flapped violently, and he soared into the sky, causing Lin Kuang’s attack to miss once more.
Lin Kuang felt the urge to pursue, but he stopped himself. He knew he wouldn’t have the advantage in the air; it was better to fight on the ground.
"Haha, damned Easterner, you cannot harm me! Before my true form, you will surely die!" Delar laughed loudly as he began a rapid dive.
In response, Lin Kuang narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixed on the approaching vampire.
In an instant, Delar appeared before him. Lin Kuang swung the Nameless Sword, bringing it down in a vicious slash. Sparkling True Qi flowed along the blade, and a terrifying sword light burst forth, aimed ferociously at Delar’s head. As the sword light surged toward him, Delar was deeply shaken, a feeling of unease rising within him. Without a second thought, he spread his massive wings wide, maneuvering his body to dodge. At such extreme speed, his head managed to avoid the terrifying attack, but his suddenly expanded wings did not escape their fate.
In a flash, the gigantic wings were cleanly severed by the powerful sword light. Blood spurted from the wounds, and the massive appendages tumbled to the ground.
"AH!"
A cry of agony tore from Delar’s mouth as his already ghastly face twisted into a ferocious snarl. For the Blood Clan, their wings were as crucial as their limbs. The pain of having them brutally severed by Lin Kuang was immense.
Just then, Lin Kuang’s figure appeared beside Delar. He would not let an opportunity like this slip by; it was the perfect chance to finish him.
With that thought, Lin Kuang swung his sword, slashing at Delar’s head. As danger loomed, Delar’s expression changed drastically. In his desperation, he could only raise his arms to block the attack.
CLANG!
The harsh sound of metal clashing rang out again. This time, Lin Kuang’s strike severed all of the sharp claws on Delar’s fingers, which clattered to the ground.
However, the Nameless Sword’s momentum didn’t falter as it slashed viciously down onto Delar’s head.
CRACK!
In that instant, Delar’s head was split in two. Bright red blood and grayish brain matter splattered across the ground. With that, the Blood Clan Elder was well and truly dead.
Seeing him finally fall, Lin Kuang let out a sigh of relief and bent over, gasping for air. This battle had been incredibly draining. He had assassinated numerous members of the Blood Clan, but the fight with Delar, in particular, had been a brush with death—one wrong move and he would have lost his life.
He’s finally dead. The Blood Clan’s combat style is truly formidable, especially after they transform. Their strength just skyrockets. I’ll need to be more careful when encountering them in the future.
Lin Kuang thought to himself. This was his first battle with a Blood Clan Elder, and understanding their combat style was crucial information. After resting briefly, Lin Kuang sheathed Nameless and turned to leave the old castle. The entire fortress was now littered with the corpses of the Blood Clan; their New York branch had been thoroughly wiped out.
Arriving at his car, Lin Kuang slipped inside and drove toward the Wumi Building. Over half an hour later, he returned. It was already past 3:00 AM, just two hours before dawn.
When he entered the villa’s main hall, he found Zhang Tianshun waiting for him on the sofa. Upon seeing Lin Kuang, Zhang Tianshun finally let out a breath of relief.
"Mr. Lin, you’ve finally returned," Zhang Tianshun said with a smile.
"Yes, I’m back," Lin Kuang replied, genuinely touched to see the man waiting up for him. "Mr. Zhang, you should go get some rest. From now on, you don’t need to wait for me. I’ll be fine."
"It’s alright, I couldn’t sleep anyway," Zhang Tianshun said with a smile. "Well, now that you’re back, I should be going." He then turned and left.
In truth, Zhang Tianshun really couldn’t sleep. Lin Kuang was the son-in-law of the Wumi Building. If anything had happened to Lin Kuang on his turf, Zhang Tianshun would have been devastated. How could he possibly have slept? He hadn’t felt the slightest bit tired.
Taking the elevator, Lin Kuang returned to the underground space and went to his room. Lin Guo’er was still fast asleep, completely unaware that Lin Kuang had left and come back.
Looking at the sleeping Lin Guo’er, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile. He undressed, took a shower, and then climbed back into bed, holding her close as he quietly fell asleep.
After sleeping for a little over two hours, Lin Kuang opened his eyes at six in the morning. He felt great after his rest, and seeing Lin Guo’er still asleep, he was struck with the urge to tease her.
Putting thought into action, Lin Kuang plucked a single strand from Lin Guo’er’s long hair and gently tickled her nostril with it.
ACHOO!
Lin Guo’er sneezed involuntarily. Pouting, she rubbed her nose, rolled over, and went back to sleep. Seeing this, Lin Kuang wanted to laugh but held it in. Her sleepy reaction had been just too amusing.
