Chapter 773 - 774 The Girls Frolic
Upon hearing this, the girls couldn’t help but roll their eyes at Lin Kuang. The flavor was indeed very good, but this jerk was just too smug.
"It’s okay, just average, I guess. Not bad. It’s passable," the little Witch commented critically.
"Hmm, it’s just okay. A little worse than I imagined," Yang Ruoxi chimed in from the side.
"It’s not bad, really. It’s not that unpleasant. Besides, it’s his first time cooking, so let’s cut him some slack," Lin Guo’er said with a smile.
"Yes, Guo’er is right. We shouldn’t be too harsh on him," Xiao Yingzi also said with a smile. Over the past few days, she had completely integrated into the group.
"Alright, everyone, just eat up. At least it’s better than the cafeteria food," Mu Wan added, also smiling.
"COUGH, COUGH, no way, is it really that bad?" Lin Kuang asked, sounding a little dejected as he saw their expressions. Could my skills have really gotten rusty after not cooking for a few months? he wondered gloomily.
"Okay, don’t be sad. It’s actually not bad... barely edible," Liu Shilin said, her words seeming like consolation but actually twisting the knife.
Yang Ruotong didn’t say anything. As the oldest here, she had to set an example, didn’t she?
Hearing Liu Shilin’s words, the other girls couldn’t help but snicker to themselves. Shilin’s skill at twisting the knife is max-level. So savage! Lin Guo’er thought.
Lin Kuang’s expression soured. He picked up his chopsticks and carefully tasted a piece of braised pork. After eating it, he felt something was off, so he proceeded to taste every single dish.
"Damn it, you girls! Are you trying to rebel? This food is delicious, and you all have the nerve to lie through your teeth? You’re really pissing me off!" Lin Kuang finally snapped after tasting everything. He realized he’d been tricked; the food was, in fact, excellent.
Seeing his frustrated and angry expression, the girls burst into laughter. The little Witch’s laugh was the most exaggerated of all. However, what infuriated Lin Kuang the most was that she was laughing so hard that tears were streaming down her face. How happy could she possibly be?!
"Liu Shiyu! You little Witch, you just wait! I’m coming for you tonight, and we’ll see if you’re still laughing tomorrow!" Lin Kuang said fiercely, glaring at her.
At his words, the little Witch’s laughter stopped abruptly, her delicate, doll-like face flushing beet red. "You—you can’t do that! They all laughed too! You have to punish them as well!" she protested, her cheeks burning.
"You laughed the happiest, so I’m punishing you," Lin Kuang hummed. "Don’t like it? Too bad. You can’t do anything about it." His taunt angered the little Witch so much she ground her teeth. This guy is such a bully!
"Alright, everyone, let’s eat. This guy’s cooking is so delicious that I’ve decided from now on, Lin Kuang will be doing all the cooking. What do you all think?" Liu Shilin said with a smile as she ate.
Upon hearing this, the other girls nodded in fervent agreement. "Yes, Shilin’s right! From now on, Lin Kuang is doing the cooking. Who else has skills this good?"
"COUGH, COUGH, wait, no! A master chef like me should only cook on special occasions, not every day, right?" Lin Kuang said with a pained expression. If I’d known this would happen, I wouldn’t have been so smug. Great, my showing off has completely backfired.
"That won’t do," Liu Shilin said. "Who has skills as good as yours? Since you’re the best, it’s only natural that you’re in charge. Right, everyone?"
"Right! That settles it. The majority rules, and he doesn’t get a say," the little Witch quickly chimed in. Since Lin Kuang was going to "punish" her anyway, she might as well add some fuel to the fire.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang’s frustration mounted. "You girls are really cruel, you know that? Little Witch, you can forget about having a peaceful night." He shot her a malevolent glare.
The little Witch blushed and retorted, "Hmph! As if I’m scared of you!"
"Oh-ho, you’re the one who said it," Lin Kuang drawled. "Begging for mercy won’t do you any good tonight."
At his words, the little Witch’s doll-like face turned an even deeper shade of red. She bit her lip and said nothing more as everyone resumed their meal.
After dinner, the poor, miserable Lin Kuang was sent to wash the dishes.
When Lin Kuang returned to the living room, the women were all chattering away happily.
"Lin Kuang, you’re really something. You actually managed to win over a great beauty like Fan Bingbing," Liu Shilin said with a sly smile as he walked in.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang puffed out his chest. "Of course! Who do you think I am? I am Lin Kuang! With one mighty shake of my tiger’s body, Fan Bingbing threw herself into my arms willingly," he declared proudly, sitting down beside Liu Shilin.
Hearing this, Liu Shilin pinched him indignantly. Does this jerk really think I was complimenting him?
"COUGH, COUGH, don’t pinch me! When it comes to matters of the heart, you know how it is. Things just... happened naturally," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
In response, all the women rolled their eyes at him in perfect sync, making him feel a little embarrassed.
「Later that night」
All the women went to their rooms to rest, and Lin Kuang headed straight for the little Witch’s room.
Seeing her lying on the bed, he couldn’t help but grin mischievously. "Little girl, you were bold enough to talk back to me today. Are you still feeling so bold now?" he asked with a smirk, sitting down beside her.
Hearing his voice, the little Witch’s pretty face flushed, and she bit her lip, remaining silent. With her sisters around during the day, she had felt brave enough to challenge Lin Kuang, but now that they were alone, her courage had vanished.
"What’s wrong? Why aren’t you saying anything?" Lin Kuang asked, his smile teasing.
"You... you just love to bully me," the little Witch mumbled, her face burning.
"That’s not it at all. It’s because I like you," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, gently stroking her hair. "I didn’t go to any of their rooms."
Hearing this, the little Witch’s doll-like face turned even redder. She wrapped her arms around his back. "Then... love me," she whispered, her face burning as she hugged his waist. "I’ve missed you."
A soft smile touched Lin Kuang’s lips. "Don’t worry," he murmured, "I’ll be sure to love you well." With that, he lay down on the bed and pulled her into his embrace.
And so, a sleepless night began.
The night was wild, their passion lasting until past four in the morning before the little Witch finally fell into an exhausted sleep.
But at five in the morning, before Lin Kuang had even stirred, his phone rang, its piercing tone shattering the quiet.
