Untouchable: Reaper of the Battlefield

227. New York and the Beast - 3

The video on the monitor was poor quality. Moreover, the screen shot from the top to the bottom was heavily shaken.

It appears that the fixed cameras were not installed indoors and were shot with drone-like equipment.

The vows that expected 1080p inner depth quality were disappointed at the CCTV quality level. However, others were exceptions.

Dragon, Terry Cummings, and Harry Giles were so focused that they were sucked into the monitor that they saw the first Beast Response video.

Four people appeared on a dark, dim green screen.

Four men in power suits walk in the dark relying on a flash set on a gun as thick as an adult man's leg.

It was like a scene from a class B SF horror movie.

The vows focused on the power suits worn by men.

This video was taken with a Night Vision camera, so it was impossible to check the seal of the suit. However, the suit's body was presumed to have been painted white and blue, as indicated by the ancestor marks on the left shoulder.

You were wearing a full-face helmet with your face completely covered, and you heard nothing but footsteps. It looks like it's guarding the silence, but communication should be active inside the helmet.

It was a suit that felt slim enough to be impressed by the fact that it fell better than the overall heavy feeling. Of course, it was nothing compared to the battle gear, and it was slimmer and lighter than Oberon's power suit.

Terry Cummings said:

“The underground tunnels remind me of the Republican Palace. ”

The vows carefully examine the tunnel.

Compared to the artificial construction of the Republic Palace, the tunnels on the screen were not of constant width and height, and the walls did not appear to be made by human hands. He asked James Spader for an explanation.

“That's right. It's not a man-made tunnel. We don't know if it was pierced by monsters or if it was naturally occurring. ”

Seowon recalled the fact that similar facilities were built in the basement of Gangnam Station.

“Is there always such a tunnel in the basement where monsters appear? ”

“I'll take no for an answer to your question. Sometimes there's a tunnel that's as complex as an ant hole, and sometimes there's only one hole that's as big as an ant hole.

It's been quite a while since the corn was observed, but it's only been 20 years since the research was actually started. We know a lot more than we know about that creature. ”

Oberon wipes the sweat off his forehead with his bare hands when he sees you walking through the tunnel. He seemed to feel the same fear and tension that four people felt.

The vow rests on Oberon's shoulders.

“Are you scared?”

Oberon leaps forward.

“What are you talking about? Who's scared? ”

The vow touches Oberon's lower body with the back of his hand.

“Look at this. You scared the shit out of me. ”

“Oh, come on! Why are you doing this to me? ”

Oberon was annoyed with his vows for the first time.

Seowon shifted his gaze to the screen, smiling deeply.

Moderate irritation and teasing helps to relieve a lot of pressure on the shoulder. Now, a joke of vows is done by many seniors to relieve the tension of the recruits who are first deployed to the operation.

Oberon's expression, which was hard because of the pranks of the vows, was somewhat saggy.

Suddenly, four men move sparsely without unnecessary movements. The screen shakes rapidly and something growls.

Your man waits with a big gun pointed in front of him.

You find the target, but you don't seem to have the order to fire.

Oberon swallows his saliva unknowingly, watching his most trembling encounter with the Beast.

A few moments later, a spark flashes from your man's pistol.

It was hard to feel the urgency of the site because it was soundless and covered with people's faces. However, everyone here felt the enormous tingling of a giant gun, the metal sound of bullets falling superiorly on the floor, and the smell of powerful gunpowder. Heat and sour perspiration can only be felt by full-face helmet wearers.

The four people gathered in one place suddenly give off a flash of light from their back and arms and scatter at an incredible speed.

Something seems to have flown out of the darkness. However, the poor screen was difficult to understand why they were suddenly scattered.

The three move to the left and to the right, one to the back. And he was in trouble.

It looks like someone's been held back by something. He resisted with all his might to avoid being dragged away.

“What is it?”

“What's wrong with him? ”

The Shadow Warrior members who had never been to the Beast were surprised.

James Spader said:

“Tentacles.”

I looked at the screen closely, but I couldn't see the tentacles. However, we could see that something was pulling at the waist of the person in the upright posture.

Men's companions approach.

One person grabs to prevent the man from being dragged, and the two continue to fire their guns toward the front. However, even though one more person was attached, the man got closer and closer to the darkness. His metal shoes hurt the floor deeply.

The body of the man who was slowly dragged into the darkness suddenly rises into the air. The person holding his back reaches out to his floating companion. It was useless.

The man in the air is sucked into the darkness.

The camera chases after the missing man.

A few moments later, when the camera caught the terrifying monster, the dragon, Terry Cummings, Harry Giles and Oberon took a deep breath without even knowing it.

The first thing caught on camera was a human face.

There were eyes, nose, ears, and mouth in a round blob without a hair.

If you take a closer look, it was different from that of a human. But when the four branches came together, it felt like a human face.

Under her head was a massive brown trunk, and her full-grown hairs were tightly embedded. Five on each side of the trunk were the legs that looked like that of a spider.

Two protruding eyes, each about three meters high, moved separately.

“Ugh... ”

“It's so ugly. ”

Everyone who was watching the screen frowned.

If it had been as black as a spider, it would have been less disgusting. But the Beast had human skin color from head to toe.

A person drawn by something floats in the air right in front of the Beast.

Oberon sticks his face close to the monitor.

You can see the thick hairs on Beast's torso gripping the man's limbs.

“It was tentacles, not fur. ”

As soon as Oberon's words are finished, the man's body starts to stretch up and down. The Beast's tentacles were pulled.

I heard a man scream.

After a short while, the human body that was alive with the blood fountain was separated.

The Beast licks the blood off the corpse with its long, thick tongue.

The creature on the monitor was gross enough to feel itchy somewhere.

The dragon said.

“You want us to deal with that monster? ”

“Doesn't the power suit look great to you? ”

Those who looked at the vows with brighter expressions were surprised.

Only Oberon understood the relaxed nature of the vows.

Unlike he had been relaxed so far, James Spader was in a tremendous hurry.

If the vow fails, we must find the next player.

Training was immediate, including data on the Beast, how to wear and use a power suit, and how to communicate.

Everyone was so focused on what was at stake that their heads fell off. However, Seowon's expression was consistent throughout his education.

The vows didn't show much interest, even though a picture of a hideous corpse with frowning eyes appeared.

Jeremy McIntyre, a SCO instructor in charge of Beast Attack Training, had to endure the pain of not even knowing he was coming out because of his vows.

It is forbidden to provoke people to go to risky operations because I read a report that the Asian man has the power to beat Bionic Soldiers. But he was human, too, and when the vow yaged, the painter endured it.

“Isn't that too much? ”

“What?”

“Life is at stake. How can you tell me what I can do to protect my life...? ”

The vows read out loud the printed material distributed.

“First, learn about the habits of the beast. Second, focus on defense rather than attack. Third, clasp your hands and feet with your colleagues. ”

Seowon shakes his head.

“What kind of tactic is this? What has the SCO ever done to tell you this pathetic thing is a tactical attack? ”

The instructor walked in front of the vow.

Seowon said as he shook the print between his fingers.

“This is a waste of time. I'd rather train in a power suit at this hour. ”

The instructor squeezed his lips and stared at the vows.

“Is there any good way you can think of that? ”

“Nothing.”

The instructor forgot what to say for a moment, in response to his audacity.

The vow rests on the instructor's shoulders.

“I mean, let's skip the useless theoretical education. We're not just recruits on the battlefield. How to communicate? Just do as you're told. Magic Attack? You don't know until you hit it yourself. Any weaknesses? We've failed to locate them in SCO so far. How can we be so sharp about what you can't do? ”

The instructor disagreed with the pledge.

“I can think that way. But do you know where people who look like you are right now? ”

“You want to tell me you're in that monster's belly? ”

Seowon wiped the badge on the left chest of the instructor with his finger.

“Oh... Jeremy. I appreciate you worrying about me, but it's really hard to see me on the same level as those kids that got eaten by those monsters. ”

The vow looked at Oberon.

“What do you think of my opinion, Oberon? ”

Oberon met three people in New York for the first time, except dragons.

At first, I was awkward, but the five men became fast friends. It is because it has the same background and the same goal of defeating Beast, the centrality of vows.

Oberon heard from them about operations and the formation of the Shadow Warrior in Iraq after the vows left Korea. Oberon was impressed by the dynamic and spectacular event that most men would have dreamed of.

The vows were at the center of every case resolution, and they did an unbelievable amount of work. But the more he heard about the vows, the more he felt sorry. They still have the feeling that they do not know about the encounter of vows.

It was because Oberon was the only one who saw vows fighting the Beast among the people gathered here.
