Chapter 2083 - 2072: Secrets of the Prison
"Kid, we can’t keep this little guy. Why don’t we just leave it here now?" the handsome guy suggested.
"Dead Dog, it seems like you really care about it." Lin Zifeng smiled.
"Damn!" the handsome guy sneered, "This thing? I care about it? Hell no, who knows how much food it has eaten that belonged to me. It’s just the perfect time to ditch it now."
"How could that be?" Lin Zifeng couldn’t abandon the little guy since they had taken care of it for so long.
He felt reluctant to abandon the little guy and would never do such a thing.
"What? You still plan to keep taking it with you?" the handsome guy was unwilling, knowing the little guy’s identity and the potential troubles it could cause.
"Dead Dog, you’ve been with me for so long, you should understand my disposition. How could you think I would abandon it now?" Lin Zifeng smiled.
He knew the handsome guy wanted the best for him and had considered various possibilities, but Lin Zifeng wasn’t that kind of person.
"Fine, fine, I can’t argue with you. Since you want to take it with us, then we shall take it with us." The handsome guy gave up on arguing, knowing he couldn’t win.
Lin Zifeng smiled slightly, not getting angry, as the one man and two beasts set off again towards the entrance of the Western Dark Prison.
Strangely enough, the Dark Prison is elusive, and this time an entrance had suddenly appeared in a Western territory, which puzzled Lin Zifeng. Could it be that there are many entrances to the Dark Prison?
After three days and nights of sneaking around, they finally reached the border between the East and the West.
Looking over the vast, boundless prairie, Lin Zifeng couldn’t help but bitterly smile. Just a while ago, they had just invaded the West, killed Mo Xiangxi, and eliminated a lord of a Heavenly Punishment Territory. Now, a few months later, they returned to this Western territory, bringing about a sense of melancholy.
Currently, Lin Zifeng’s cultivation had reached the early stage of the Seventh Layer Heaven. Although it was called the early stage, his domain hadn’t truly manifested; in simple terms, he was still at the peak stage of the Sixth Layer Heaven, not yet ready to quickly enter the domain realm of the Seventh Layer Heaven.
However, the handsome guy’s progression was faster than Lin Zifeng’s, having already reached the early stage of the Seventh Layer Heaven. His demon beast domain had opened, and although nothing significant had developed within it, he was still somewhat stronger than Lin Zifeng.
"Lin, boy, we’re about to enter the Western domain soon. You better be mentally prepared," the handsome guy remarked while turning his head.
"Don’t worry. I’ve been ready for this day," Lin Zifeng nodded.
"Alright then, let’s go," the handsome guy accepted Lin Zifeng’s determination and followed him into the Western domain.
The vast West, this was their first real venture into it.
The previous two times didn’t truly count; it was more like a sightseeing trip, just passing through. But this time was different.
Their goal lay within a great mountain in the central part of the Western region.
A treacherous place filled with danger, who knows what they would encounter, and what direction the future would take.
After two days of travel, they found that Western experts had already started exploring towards the Dark Prison, seemingly with more intensity than before.
Previously, when Lin Zifeng and the handsome guy ventured in, it was from the Amazon side, but this time it was in the West. So the Western cultivators hadn’t lagged behind them; quite a few cultivators had already successfully reached the entrance of the Dark Prison.
As they delved deeper, the cultivators they encountered became more powerful. They even vaguely sensed several Saint-level masters heading towards the Dark Prison.
Strange behavior.
In a desolate, deep mountain, they discovered a large-scale battle involving hundreds of people!
There were Western cultivators as well as Eastern Martial Artists.
The battle was intense and bloody, with people constantly falling into pools of blood. Seeing this, the handsome guy couldn’t help but swallow.
"Damn! There’s nothing special in the Dark Prison, is there really a need for such a massive conflict?" the handsome guy was puzzled. It’s just an entrance to the Dark Prison appearing; it’s not like some heavenly-defying treasure has emerged.
Such fighting seemed a bit too intense.
"It seems this entrance to the Dark Prison appearing in the West is not as simple as we imagined," Lin Zifeng said with a squint.
Along the way, they witnessed many cultivators heading to the Dark Prison, indicating that the opening of the entrance was not straightforward.
One must know that the Dark Prison itself is a dangerous place. Anyone familiar with it wouldn’t recklessly risk their lives here since it’s not a good place, nor is any treasure emerging.
"Well, since we’re here, let’s not leave easily. Let’s observe and figure out what these people are after. Once they’re worn out from fighting, we’ll make our move,"
The handsome guy, eyes blazing with excitement and murderous intent, stared unblinkingly at the dense forest.
"Damn it! This is Western business, not a place for you Eastern Martial Artists to meddle!"
In the dense forest, a group led by Western representatives clashed with an Eastern group; neither side willing to give way.
The battle reached a fever pitch with both sides halting their carnage.
"Ridiculous! Matters of the mortal world are not divided by race, domain, or East and West. Since the Dark Prison has reappeared, why shouldn’t we get involved?"
An imposing and handsome Eastern Martial Artist scoffed. Clearly, he was the leader of the group behind him.
He wielded a pitch-black long spear, its tip gleaming with fresh blood. The crimson liquid slowly dripped from the spear, falling onto the leaf-laden soil...
"Seems like you won’t give up until you hit the Yellow River?"
On the other side, a Western middle-aged man with blond hair and blue eyes squinted. A flash of killing aura passed through his tiger-like eyes, each hand gripping two massive iron hammers.
He seemed ready to stir up chaos.
Unfortunately, they faced a group of ancient, powerful Eastern Martial Artists. Most of these Eastern Martial Artists came from some secluded prominent families and large sects of Huaxia.
Their backing hadn’t emerged for a century and was reluctant to do so, but this time, it was different. The Dark Prison had existed in the mortal world for nearly thousands of years!
Most cultivators knew of the Dark Prison’s mysterious existence, but its presence had gradually faded over the past century, becoming unknown to the general public.
Now that the Dark Prison had resurfaced, not only did the old masters know, but even the younger generation started vying for opportunities, perhaps seeking great fortune.
Unfortunately, those young guys jumping into the fray were merely cannon fodder.
