Shen Daoxing raised the Venerable Dharma Seal high in his hand. A dazzling white light erupted as he terrifyingly smashed it down again.

BANG!

The light flared, and sparks flew everywhere.

However, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat only paused for a moment. It shook its head, then continued to bare its teeth and clamp down fiercely on Shen Daoxing’s arm, looking as if it wouldn’t rest until it had torn the limb off.

Shen Daoxing chuckled in exasperation. Holding nothing back, he unleashed the surging Spiritual Power within him. The Venerable Dharma Seal abruptly grew larger, its light flaring brilliantly, and he slammed it down once more.

BOOM!

This time, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat shrieked in pain and abruptly released its bite. Its body spun several times in mid-air before it plummeted to the ground.

But the moment it landed, it leaped up and attacked again.

Shen Daoxing, however, wasn’t about to give it another chance.

Within his body, the Seven-Colored Profound Platform began to rotate. Black arcs of electricity flickered as a surge of Venerable Power flowed out, concentrating upon the Venerable Dharma Seal.

Black lightning crackled over the Venerable Dharma Seal, causing the surrounding space to warp and twist.

As the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat leaped into the air, Shen Daoxing brought the Venerable Dharma Seal crashing down.

In an instant, space distorted, and a black arc of lightning traced a graceful curve through the air.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat was struck squarely on the head. Its skull was nearly flattened, its eyes bulging as if they would burst, and it was smashed heavily into the ground with a THUD.

"SQUEAK! SQUEAK!"

It let out a loud cry, still wanting to fight back.

But Shen Daoxing’s Venerable Dharma Seal was already falling again.

Black lightning crackled.

Space warped once more.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat let out a terrified squeak as it was slammed deep into the earth, creating a crater several yards deep.

After a long moment, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat shakily climbed out of the hole. When it looked at Shen Daoxing again, its face finally showed a hint of timidity. It had learned fear.

"SQUEAK! SQUEAK!"

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat cried out again, seemingly furious, but in the next moment, it turned on its heel and bolted.

But how could Shen Daoxing give it a chance to escape now? A large hand had already descended, pinching the scruff of the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat’s neck and lifting it into the air.

"SQUEAK! SQUEAK!"

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat flailed its limbs wildly in the air, trying to escape.

Shen Daoxing raised his hand, bringing the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat up to eye level.

He knew this demon beast possessed a fair amount of intelligence and could understand his words.

"I want you to be my Spirit Pet! Are you willing?"

Shen Daoxing said calmly.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat crossed its front paws, turned its head away with a huff, and wore a look of utter disdain. ’Who do you think you are?’

Shen Daoxing wasn’t annoyed. He simply smiled, and black lightning began to crackle in the hand holding the rat.

CRACKLE!

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat immediately started to shiver and tremble.

"How about now?"

Shen Daoxing asked again with a faint smile.

But the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat just gave another cold huff and remained silent.

Shen Daoxing said nothing, merely tightening his grip slightly. A torrent of Venerable Power surged forth.

SIZZLE! SIZZLE! SIZZLE!

A continuous series of black lightning arcs flashed into existence.

CRACKLE!

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat immediately began to twitch and convulse uncontrollably, as if struck by lightning, with puffs of black smoke rising from its body.

This time, Shen Daoxing wasn’t just giving it a little taste. The Venerable Power in his hand continued to surge, and the black lightning sizzled relentlessly.

Before long, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat’s gray fur had been charred black by the constant bombardment of lightning, turning it into what looked like a roasted rat.

But Shen Daoxing showed no signs of stopping.

"SQUEAK! SQUEAK!"

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat hastily cried out, its gaze toward Shen Daoxing growing more and more terrified.

"Alright! From this day forward, you are my pet, and I am your master."

Shen Daoxing said calmly to the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat quickly nodded, then began to squeak, as if signaling for Shen Daoxing to let it go.

Shen Daoxing loosened his grip, and the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat dropped to the ground.

But the moment the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat hit the ground, it whirled around and tried to zip away.

However, Shen Daoxing was already prepared; there was no way he would let it escape.

Before it could even take a single leap, the crystal-clear Venerable Dharma Seal had already descended, slamming onto the top of its head with a BOOM. The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat was smashed into the ground with a THUD.

The next moment, Shen Daoxing’s Venerable Power surged, and his hand, crackling with black lightning, shot forward.

...with a THUMP, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat did something surprisingly human. It dropped to its knees before Shen Daoxing, lifted its two front paws, and began to kowtow, begging for mercy.

Then, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat raised one of its front paws, pointed it toward the sky, and squeaked emphatically, as if swearing an oath to the heavens. Its earnest expression made it look exactly like a person.

Seeing the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat’s sincerity, Shen Daoxing slowly withdrew his hand and decided not to punish it further.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat heaved a sigh of relief, as if it had just escaped a great disaster.

"Spit out what you just swallowed," Shen Daoxing said suddenly.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat froze for a moment. Then it opened its mouth wide, pointed inside, and shook its head. Next, it patted its belly, rubbed it, spread its paws, and shook its head again.

Shen Daoxing narrowed his eyes. "You digested it all?"

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat nodded vigorously.

Shen Daoxing was skeptical. Just moments ago, almost half of the Celestial Essence Ore and that Wind Attribute Demon Core had gone into this Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat’s stomach.

Suddenly, Shen Daoxing grabbed the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat by its leg, lifted it up, and shook it upside down. But nothing fell out.

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat grinned slightly and let out a satisfied burp.

Then, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat started chittering and hopping in front of Shen Daoxing, as if trying to say something.

But Shen Daoxing just shook his head, not understanding.

"SQUEAK! SQUEAK! SQUEAK!"

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat jumped up and down anxiously. It suddenly picked up a forked stick from somewhere and started pantomiming digging in the ground with great effort, even pausing to wipe away imaginary sweat.

A moment later, it raised the stick over its head and pretended to strike a rock.

"Are you saying there’s more treasure here?"

A moment later, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat poked its head out of the hole. It waved a paw and blinked its wide eyes at Shen Daoxing, as if wondering why he wasn’t following.

Staring at the palm-sized hole, Shen Daoxing paused for a second, then swung the Great Ming Demon Sparrow in his hand.
