Chapter 163: A Serious Need for Help

"Don’t be so full of yourself," Dorrent sneered, a mocking smirk touching his lips as he gestured to the empty space around the man. "You are alone in a deserted graveyard. You think you can outrun me?"

"Who said he was alone?" a rough voice barked from the side.

Suddenly, the rustling of leaves broke the silence. From the bushes and stone crypts surrounding the burial plot, five, ten, then fifteen armed men began to step out one by one, their tactical rifles raised and locked onto Dorrent and Shadron. They formed a tight, lethal perimeter around the car, completely cutting off any path of escape.

The masked leader grinned beneath his fabric, his knife still pressed against Jannah’s throat as she struggled weakly against his iron grip. "All you have to do is back off, tycoon. Let me take the girl into the vehicle and we walk away. If you try to act like a hero, I will cause a massive scene, and you will die on this spot."

Shadron’s face went completely grim as he cataloged the number of rifles pointed at them. "Dorrent... look at the numbers. They’ve got us surrounded and we don’t have our primary guards here. We should back off first, get the layout settled, and track them later. We can’t fight this many armed men in the open."

Jannah stared at Dorrent through tear-blurred eyes, her breath catching as the cold steel of the knife dug slightly into her skin.

Dorrent didn’t even look at Shadron. His gaze remained locked dead onto the masked man holding Jannah, his expression hardening into a terrifying mask. The veins against his neck bulged as his winter-frost pheromones exploded into the open air, heavy and suffocating.

"Then you’ll have to kill me first," Dorrent delivered, his voice a flat whisper that echoed through the graveyard. "Because you are never leaving this place alive with my woman."

Dorrent didn’t wait for the armed men to squeeze their triggers. His core ripped wide open, and his dangerous, S-tier winter-frost pheromones exploded into the open air with the force of a detonating bomb. The scent became a physical weight, a suffocating, icy mist that rushed outward, filling the lungs of every single person standing in the perimeter.

The armed men instantly began to gasp for air, their chests heaving as the invisible pressure squeezed their lungs. Two men dropped their rifles, clawing frantically at their own throats as they fell to their knees on the damp gravel, coughing violently. The air felt like breathing crushed ice and poison.

Caught directly in the center of the blast, Jannah’s fragile system couldn’t withstand the crushing force of the Alpha pressure. Her vision went black, her head slumping limply sideways as she fainted dead in the leader’s arms, her body going entirely soft and weightless.

The masked man, already choking and struggling to draw a single breath beneath his fabric, panicked as he felt the girl go limp. His eyes widened in terror behind the holes of his mask as he looked at Dorrent, who was starting to walk forward.

"Shoot him! Shoot him, you fools!" the leader shrieked, his voice cracking into a desperate, strangled wheeze. "Kill him right now!"

The men who could still stand raised their weapons with trembling hands and pulled the triggers.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A barrage of gunfire shattered the eerie silence of the burial grounds. High-caliber bullets tore through the air, ripping through the fabric of Dorrent’s long black coat and embedding themselves into his flesh. Blood sprayed out, staining the gravel path, but Dorrent paid the bullets absolutely no attention. His silver eyes were glazed over with a blind, animalistic madness, his life force forcing his legs to move forward despite the agonizing wounds opening up across his chest and shoulders. He walked right through the storm of lead like a demon rising from hell.

Before the masked leader could even pull the trigger of his own handgun, Dorrent closed the distance.

With lightning speed, Dorrent’s hand shot forward, clamping around the man’s neck with an iron grip. He squeezed hard, his fingers digging deep into the flesh, instantly cutting off the man’s air completely and lifting him slightly off his feet. The man’s eyes rolled back in astonishment and agony, his weapons slipping from his useless fingers and clattering onto the dirt.

With his other arm, Dorrent reached down and easily tore Jannah’s unconscious body away from the man’s grasp, tucking her securely against his chest.

"Stop shooting!" Dorrent roared, his voice a low, terrifying rumble that echoed over the gunfire. He turned his lethal glare toward the remaining armed men, his grip tightening on their leader’s throat until a sharp crack sounded. "If you don’t drop your weapons and stop shooting this instant, I will pop his head off his shoulders right in front of you!"

The leader made a series of frantic, muffled choking noises, weakly waving his hand at his men to signal them to stop. The armed men, completely terrified by Dorrent’s unnatural resilience and the suffocating pheromones still crushing their lungs, slowly lowered their rifles, stepping back in defeat.

"Get out of here. All of you, leave," Dorrent commanded flatly, his eyes flashing with a dangerous light.

The men didn’t need to be told twice. They grabbed their coughing companions and began to retreat rapidly into the bushes, their vehicles roaring to life in the distance as they fled the sector lines.

Dorrent casually tossed the gasping leader onto the path like a piece of garbage. The man rolled over, clutching his bruised throat as he sucked in the freezing air, staring up at the S-tier tycoon with horror.

"You leave too," Dorrent delivered, his breath coming in short, ragged gasps as the blood from his bullet wounds began to pool down his shirt. He leaned down slightly, his face a tight mask of fury. "And you make sure to tell your boss that if he is man enough, he should come to me personally next time instead of sending weaklings like you to do his dirty work."

The masked leader scrambled backward on his hands and knees, completely terrified, before scrambling to his feet and running blindly down the path until his footsteps faded away.

The cemetery fell back into a stillness, broken only by the sound of Dorrent’s labored breathing.

He looked down at Jannah’s pale, unconscious face resting against his shoulder. The blind madness in his eyes softened for a brief second, replaced by that same unhinged, terrifying obsession. Even as his own strength was rapidly failing, his body losing far too much blood from the bullet holes, he couldn’t resist her. He leaned his head down, his bloody lips invading her mouth, forcing a kiss upon her unmoving lips as if trying to stamp his mark into her soul one last time.

But the physical toll was too much.

As he disconnected the kiss, his knees suddenly buckled. The light in his eyes flickered and died out, his frame tilting forward as he collapsed completely, his grip still holding Jannah tightly against him.

"Dorrent!" Shadron shouted, lunging forward with everything he had.

Shadron caught them just in time, his arms wrapping around Dorrent’s broad shoulders and Jannah’s waist, straining under the immense weight to keep the two unconscious people from hitting the hard, rocky ground. He managed to ease them down onto the grass, his hands instantly becoming covered in the blood pouring from Dorrent’s body.

Shadron looked down at his best friend’s pale face, and then at the quiet slum girl who had managed to turn the entire Grefo empire upside down in a matter of weeks. He let out a heavy breath, his voice full of a disbelieving awe as he looked at the bloody mess around them.

"God damn it, Dorrent..." Shadron whispered into the freezing wind, his jaw clenching as he tried to pull out his phone to call the emergency line. "This girl’s pussy has made you completely mad. You need very serious help."
