61. Know Yourself

Two days after Vasily and I broke up.

Going south on Brachiya Avenue, Kay and the others safely reached the fortress city of Wolvern.

"I knew the whole city would be horrible."

"Nah."

We creep through the castle gate, pull out our shoulders and laugh at each other.

The time is past noon. Shoppers, merchants, and travellers are relaxing in the footsteps of the cobblestones on the street. Kay and Irene, walking round and round with the horse's reins, were still attracting the crowd's attention. One, a heavily armed, fierce warrior with a pearlescent composite bow in his hand. One, a beautiful girl from the people of the snowfield armed with a sabel.

Some looked slightly prickly at Kay, who looked similar to the people of the meadows, but he is cute compared to the intense hostility he experienced in the northern earth and Dylannylen. When I first came to Wolvern, Kay laughs bitterly that even this degree of alienation felt quite painfully. He's been working out a lot of mental skills over the past month.

The Kays, who left Main Street early enough, stray off the sidewalk without getting lost. Across the street, you can see a unique sign, with a deformed beetle hanging a jock of ale in one hand. "HangedBug" pavilion - Kays' accommodation in Wolvern.

Leave the small men to take care of the sasquatches and open the familiar green door. The sound of the doorbell. A young woman, who was opening her books at the reception, raised her face and opened her eyes.

"Oh! It's not Kay, he's back!?

"HangedBug" pavilion sign girl, it's Jamie. Flax-colored hair bundled together in bandana for healthy tanned wheat skin. It used to stretch to shoulder length, but you cut it while the Kays were traveling, now it's a refreshing shortcut. The curious, creepy black eyes were the same.

"Hey, it's been a while, Jamie."

Kay smiles as she takes off her coat. Eileen slips her face behind it and waves "Yay". Looks like Irene had something on her mind about Jamie trying to color Kay, but I don't know if she's gotten any better on her journey over the past month.

"Both of you! I was worried, you were safe!

"Yeah, I can figure it out... can I get a room?

"Of course. How many days?

"Just keep it together for a week"

Chan, and put the small silver coins together at the reception.

"Our guests used to talk about it, but the northern lands are a lot of noise right now. Were you okay? I heard there were horse thieves out along the street and they were rampaging around."

Jamie looks intrigued as he writes on the books. Naturally, but the rumors seem to be a little behind because the distance is away. Kay and the others looked at each other.

"…… the horse thief attacked me, but I managed."

"Oh, you were attacked? But you were safe, that's the best bowman in the Principality......! Horse thieves are a hundred or two. It's not a great number anyway."

"Right, I think I was a hundred"

"Heh! I was asking you half the time, were you really there? It's too dangerous to get anywhere near the North. I'm so glad you two made it through."

"Right, it's already punishment to see you like that"

Shoulder shrugging Kay. Jamie was pleased with the safety of the two, but she didn't seem to think that the person in front of her had destroyed the horse thief in question.

Let me tell you more about it later - and I'll pull into the room once on my back. I was tired of traveling, but when I relaxed here, I was going to be unable to move, so I left my stuff but headed to the library either quickly or immediately.

"Oops, of the 'bow'"

"It's been a long time, too, my lady."

"Hey, long time no see"

"How have you been?"

Walk through the First Wall, greeting the familiar guards. It should have only been a month or so, but the streets of the primary city, lined with elegant museums, were somewhere to be missed. A luxurious library to soak up after you get out of there.

The two library gatekeepers, who usually don't break their faceless expressions, also looked "oops" to the Kays, who haven't shown up in a month. Especially since I had Kay's eyesight and just noticed that by the time I approached him, I was back to my usual iron mask.

"Long time no see, Kay, Irene."

Once inside, a tall woman wearing a monocle calls from the reception counter, acknowledging the two of them. Since Kay and his first visit to the library, he's been taking care of something. Kay was lost for a moment because of a long time, but managed to remember her name.

"Hi, Alyssa. Long time no see."

"You're back."

In return for Alyssa, Kay and Eileen both show an impressive breeze. She (Alyssa), who was familiar with her face but not so close to her, was not informed beforehand that she was going to the North. And yet the expression 'back' comes up, which means...

"Quick and bad, but can I ask for it?"

Kay dives into his voice and puts the envelope he took out of his nostalgia on the counter. Former silver mushroom hair. Letter to Mr. Valgren-Clemrat. This will help Valgren to be informed of Kay's return when he next visits the library.

"I accept."

Alyssa bows her head down. She was also properly informed to that effect. As if nothing had happened since then, Kay and the others left the library behind after a light public talk, including recent developments and recent events.

"…… I have little use for the library anymore."

After walking for a while, he saw the castle of Ji, which stood in the distance, Irene said.

"Right. I know what I want to know..."

Kay snorts too. In terms of spare time, the library also holds a huge collection of poems, novels, etc., but I don't feel comfortable reading them because they are in English, and I don't find them very interesting because the values are too different from those of the Kays "Modern Man. The initial goal of collecting information related to metastases has been achieved. It's not like there's anything else I want to look into.

Now for once, Kay looks back at the library.

Untold statues stared down at us quietly. Wisdom and statues of great stones symbolizing controlled power, wise men with scrolls, spirits wrapped around feathers.

…………

He watched closely as he burned into his memory, then Kay turned his back and walked out.

Somehow, I felt like I wouldn't be here anymore.

†††

Then the Kays headed to the Wolvern branch of the Cornwell Chamber of Commerce.

Fortunately, there was a well-acquainted pedestrian, Holland. He just finished his business trip from Satina to Wolvern. Holland had also heard rumors of the wind about the events on the northern earth, and he seemed eager to worry, and the three of them were often happy to reunite safely.

"So, how'd it go? The earth to the north. Were you able to meet the sage of purpose?"

Passed to a small room in the mall, sit back and discuss in a chair.

"In conclusion, there was a wise man.... Our hometown was too far away for us to return."

Talk about the upside of things. With regard to the Demon Forest, the monster in the fog, and the sage in the eccentric red clothes that lay there - the concept of a different world - I omitted it to avoid trouble.

"Is that so………"

Holland meditates on the conclusion that he can't go home any more. The hearty, serious merchant seemed to feel sorry for the plight of the two young men.

"I think it's sad that you can't go back to your hometown. … but personally, I'm glad to see you two again safely."

"Right...... thanks. Fortunately, I'm ready to organize my feelings."

"Thank you, sir."

But I'm okay with that because I'm already convinced. The two laughed face-to-face, out of the blue, telling them with an attitude that they didn't need to worry.

and, at that time, the door of the small room opens with a noise with Kee.

"I have tea."

It was Edda, Holland's adopted daughter, who showed up with the basin (tray) in her hand. The young girl with brown skin looks at Kay and makes her face glow.

"Brother, long time no see!!

"Hey Edda. Did you get a little taller?

"I haven't changed much anymore! And your sister, long time no see!

"Ooh, how's Edda doing, too?

Kay and Irene smile softly at the same cheerful girl as before. In front of everyone, Edda, who placed her respective mugs on the table, tried to come on Kay's lap as she naturally did. but he felt some nasty signs on the couch, very naturally, to the two of them sitting in close proximity, kneeling on the spot.

"I can't go in anymore…………"

"What are you doing, Edda?"

Holland with a squeaky face, with herbal tea in his mouth. Edda stepped back in her hands with an amazing basin, came back again and had no choice but to sit down a bit next to Holland.

"But you're a wise man. I'm surprised it actually happened."

Let's get back to it, Holland.

"Yeah, we were surprised, too."

"He said he was like a spirit. He was indeed the bearer of a mighty power."

"... I'd like to be close to you, but you don't seem to be interested in doing business. Above all, I don't feel like I can break through that demon forest and stuff."

You imagined the monster Kay and the others talked about and made you listen, Holland shaking his fat body for the first time. Edda said, "?" I was leaning my neck in the face, but should I say that I am fortunate that my young girlfriend was not listening? Edda must have been scared the year after year.

"By the way, how was the horse thief? Though I heard it sounded quite large."

"Yeah, then it's devastated. I don't think there's a problem anymore."

Answered beforehand by Kay, Holland gets stunned by his intentions.

Holland, a merchant, may have something to gain, so Kay frankly told him that the horse thief was' destroyed '. Once security has been restored along the streets, the deal will once again be enlivened in the northern lands. Although not directly related to the Cornwell Chamber of Commerce, the aftermath could have some impact - Holland was grateful for Kay's' breaking news'.

"Well, I heard good things. The exchange of products seems to have been delayed in Dylan Niren, so when it is resolved… it will take a lot of preparation. I'm glad you let me know in advance, thanks, Kay."

"But, brothers, you've been well attacked by horse thieves, haven't you?

With no heart or excitement, Edda says. I guess he has some sort of adventurous tan admiration for the horrible northern earth, the rampant horse thieves, and the Kays who have traveled back through such a land. In fact, from the point of view of the blood-soaking scene, even if my eyes are so glittering - I get in trouble.

"…… right, that was tough."

In hindsight, and avoiding direct expression, Kay spoke of his journey in the North. I broke a bone to join the caravan and go north on the streets, to be told the task of scouting, to ride around the vast plains on horseback with the man of the people of the snowy fields I became friends with, and to avoid using the word 'kill'.

Occasionally, when Kay was stuck in words, Eileen somehow helped him out to successfully describe the scene in more gentle terms. Imagine "Taking Out Bad Horse Thieves" Kay, Edda was definitely impressed or innocently pleased, but Holland had a somewhat harsh look on her face.

He must have been overwhelmed by the scale of the battle in which the Kays were caught up, knowing that Kays was not the man to talk to, and most importantly, that he was the user of a strong bow that would kill even the Big Bear with a single blow. As the same pedestrian, he had some thoughts about the raid of thieves. And he seemed to think about the impact and the future of the northern earth.

"… So, what are you both going to do now?

The story of the northern earth has just come to a paragraph, and, on the contrary, Holland asks.

Kay and Irene arm each other almost simultaneously with a perfectly breathtaking modus operandi and roared "hmm".

"Right...... I haven't made a clear decision yet though"

"In the meantime, as far as we're concerned, I think we should settle down in Satina."

Kay is an honorary citizen of Wolvern, but he doesn't necessarily need to live in Wolvern because of his tax obligations. There is also the hand of living in Satina as a free citizen or acquiring citizenship in Satina by taking Wolvern citizenship. Acquisition of citizenship is not easy, but it should not be impossible with the corresponding connexion and 'interest' -

"So, I need to fold in and talk to my husband in Holland."

Laughing niggly, Eileen opens her mouth. In his profound mouth, Holland smiled "ho" and embarked on himself, guessing something.

"Actually, I'm going to try to commercialize the example" alarm (alarm). "

"I was waiting for you. That word."

Shin, and hit the knee, Holland.

"If I could sell that one, I'd expect huge profits. You can sell it to individuals, or you can sell it to nobles if you have some track record."

"Oh, will you cooperate? That's a lot of material and stuff, and I'd like to try a prototype."

"Of course, but I think we can fully support you.... It's just that that demon prop is pretty useful, so it could tie you up the other way around. … you can see that you are ready."

"Depending on the extent. If I can live with Kay, I can do anything else."

To Eileen, who was so clean, Holland raised his eyebrows deliberately and looked at Kay, and Kay smiled and lit up. Edda had a distant eye.

"Well... what. Let's talk more about it in Satina."

Holland controls Eileen by hand to move on.

"... shouldn't it be Koko?

"Even on the road."

"I see. If my husband says so."

This is the 'Wolvern Branch' of the Cornwell Chamber of Commerce. Perhaps there is a lot about relationships and achievements at the branch office, and Irene immediately realizes that she is pulling back.

"... because I'm too old. I was just wondering if it was time to do business. Something about my mother and Edda."

Holland said so quietly, stroking the head of his adopted daughter, who sat beside him.

"It's time to settle down, but to do so, it's still the right thing to do."

Pa, and Holland winking. "Well, if I were on track, I might be running around again myself," he laughs, undoubtedly looking at the merchant.

"By the way, both of you, do you have any plans for dinner?

"I'm not thinking about it in particular?

"If that's the case, why don't you join me? Even for dinner at Le Donjon."

Speaking of 'Le Donjon', it is a restaurant run by the people (Frances) of the same plateau as Holland. It's a luxury store for the interior, and it's a little expensive, but the flavor is great, and Kay and I used to visit it every once in a while during their stay in Wolvern.

"Whoa, good!

Kay, who was getting hungry, jumps without one or two.

"Well, I think I'm gonna need to get dressed a little bit."

Eileen laughs bitterly, picking on her fingers almost arriving sparrow travel outfits.

After that, the two of them left the mall and flew back to the inn to get up to speed. Eileen is a piece of water color. Kay changes into a casual hemp shirt and leather vest. When you're dressed rough, only the case of a bow bracketed around your hips will look boneless if you do it, but I can't help it.

When the sun set and the bell rang in the evening, the two took the groom and left the inn. For once, I'll take my wallet, but this stream is going to be a luxury for Holland. Too long ago I forgot where the restaurant was and often lost my way was miscalculation, but Holland sometimes didn't have a clock in the first place, and forgiveness was salvation in the meeting time.

In front of Le Donjon, in addition to Edda, who had spoken out in an apron dress, he had even come to Heidemarie, his mother in Holland, and Dagmal, who had become childhood friendly and was also a compiler of escorts. Dagmal also said he was worried about the Kays, and welcomed them with a hot embrace.

Dinner turned out great.

Cheers with a sweet and sour refreshing aperitif of berries, illuminated by candle lights. Edda was offered lemon juice instead of alcohol. The appetizer consists of freshwater shrimp and seasonal vegetable consomme jelly, while the main dish consists of veal cutlets. Cream brulee with fragrances similar to vanilla for dessert. They were all terribly laborious to make in the 'here' world, and Kay and Eileen were very happy with the chunky, fine dishes.

Although there was minor trouble with Hydemary's missed jelly swallowing and swallowing (peeling), and early drunk Dagmal flying nasty jokes and buying other guests hives, he had an elegant and enjoyable time, which was dissolved that day.

According to Holland, in two weeks' time, he will be leaving again for Satina on a business trip. The next day I relaxed in the inn so as to take the fatigue of my journey, and then went on a picnic near Wolvern, and took a trip to a village along the river to taste the local wine, stretching my wings fully, but still there was always the matter of a letter left in the library in the corner of their heads.

- "Kazimir", a man who seemed to have forced a knight into his plain clothes, visited the "HangedBug" pavilion as Valgren's use only a few days later.
