Chapter 62: Gift
Samantha ultimately pulled a UNO reverse card on Ray.
"That is quite shameless..." Even Belva was taken aback by Samantha’s statement.
Who in the world would proudly say those words without any shame?
Aside from Ray, she could hardly imagine someone else saying that.
Well, now there was one more person that she could imagine.
"Does shameless fill my empty stomach and mana?" Samantha overheard Belva and clicked her tongue. She found no shame because she already owed this villainous bastard money.
Not to mention, he even tricked her into playing the magic chessboard and got her remaining mana drained.
He should have totally compensated her for that.
Unreasonable?
So what!
Does she even have any face or reputation left after these repeated embarrassing moments?
Bumped into not one, but two people in almost the same spot, and then even plopped to the ground like some damsel in distress.
As if that wasn’t enough, she also had to endure the villainous bastard’s evil taunt and tease.
For her to not lose her cool and lash out at him was already a miracle. Of course, it was totally not because he had a powerful maid standing guard that made her withhold her emotions from lashing out.
’Mhmm, I shouldn’t be prone to violence, no matter how infuriating the person was. Peace is the way of life.’ Samantha calmed herself silently.
However, her endurance and fortitude were challenged almost instantaneously.
"A real shameless person wouldn’t mind eating food that has been licked before." Ray licked the fork and proceeded to stab another piece of meat.
"Here you go, Broke Sam. See how nice I am?"
"..."
’Screw the peace!’ Samantha roared and wanted to lunge at him, only to end up losing her remaining stamina.
She plopped on the chair, and her eyes started spinning around like crazy.
[+20 Villain Points]
’See, you should have given me more points, then you wouldn’t be fainting.’ Ray was satisfied with the points and gestured to Belva to heal her.
A few seconds later, Samantha gradually opened her eyes, with a little bit of drool in her mouth.
"I-I just dreamt of eating a delicacy piece of meat." She muttered, believing she was still in a dream.
"That’s because you did eat a piece of meat. You owe me more money now." Ray snapped her out of the daze and explained.
"The truth is that part of the portion here is yours. The Young Master said that since he dragged you along, it was natural for him to treat you to food, but then you just had to provoke him." Belva patted her shoulders and consoled her.
"What??!" Samantha’s jaw dropped. It was as if her face had become a glass mirror and had just been shattered into multiple pieces.
"Pfft!" George finally couldn’t take it anymore and let out a laugh. He had witnessed everything from the start.
When Samantha fainted from mana depletion, Ray immediately told Belva to feed her some of his food while claiming that a portion of it was supposed to be for her.
It was such a despicable move, but George found himself very amused by Ray’s behavior and personality.
Completely unhinged!
That was the description George would use for him.
’How interesting of a first-year student. I thought it would be another boring semester, but I supposed things would get fun.’ George mused inwardly and approved of Ray.
He stood up and prepared to leave. "I’ve finished my meal, so you can all continue without me."
"Eh, what about the magic chessboard?" Samantha suddenly asked.
She had yet to obtain her rematch against Ray.
"You should ask Raymond that," George responded lightly.
"As a senior, I don’t have anything of value to give, so you can have the magic chessboard instead."
"Ah, a magic chessboard as a gift?" Ray raised an eyebrow.
"Why not a weapon or money instead?" He then asked shamelessly.
Others might think he was being overly greedy or even offensive, but for George, he only found it more hilarious.
"Hahaha, very well. What kind of weapon do you want?" George had never seen such an interesting person before.
Throughout his life, all he met were two-faced people or people who were afraid of his background and acted very humbly.
None of them actually had the courage that Ray does to simply treat him like a fellow peer.
"That has to be a joke, right?" Samantha laughed awkwardly, only to notice Ray was thinking heavily.
His face was so serious that it seemed like he was dealing with a big issue.
"Is he actually being for real?" Samantha turned to Belva and asked. Usually, this kind of conversation was merely a polite gesture. Nobody would actually take it seriously.
"You bet he is." But Belva knew that Ray was definitely serious, and she also had a feeling that George wasn’t kidding around either.
After all, he actually stood still and waited patiently for Ray to give an answer.
A few seconds later, Ray finally decided on an idea.
"You got any firearm that can fire mana bullets?" He inquired. His constitution was so bad that he would probably faint from exhaustion from trying to cast any actual magic spells.
However, a firearm would be different.
All he needed to do was pull the trigger, and it would be done.
George paused for a moment at the unexpected request. He had anticipated it to be some handmade craft wand or a famous wand.
The Windall family was famous for craftsmanship and produced many top-tier weapons, which was why they were well respected. Without their products, half of the Mages and Knights probably couldn’t even unleash half of their potential.
But he never imagined Ray would request an outdated weapon that no Mages or Knights used anymore, aside from some civilians who were rich enough to afford mana bullets.
"I can definitely do that, but are you sure that’s your final choice?" George asked for confirmation.
"Mhmm, I’m sure." Ray nodded and was glad to have received a firearm.
Since he read the novel, there was a powerful mysterious character whose name wasn’t revealed even at the end.
Many could only come up with nicknames, with the most famous one being Deadlock.
’I can be the second Deadlock.’ He could already imagine the scene of him being praised to the sky.
