Chapter 52: Pigeon

"Do you understand what his action was about?" Samantha was at a loss for words and wondered if Belva, the maid, would know better.

"Don’t know and will never try." Belva shrugged. She had learned her lesson long ago. Back when he decided to strip down to his boxer and laughed like a maniac, she already knew not to hold much expectation of him.

And her decision was proven to be correct now.

After all, he was definitely going to keep pulling such random maneuvers to get under people’s skin.

The fact that he didn’t even give a damn about a royal prince spoke volumes about his audacity.

"I see..." Samantha also nodded and heeded the advice.

’As long as I can earn enough money, I won’t need to be associated with this person anymore. Maybe the Fourth Prince can help me out.’ She was certain that the Fourth Prince was definitely holding a grudge against Ray.

If she were to meet with him secretly and offer him valuable intel regarding Ray, she might be paid handsomely.

The Viren Household...

She had naturally heard of this household that deals with information. And for a house to deal with information, they definitely have a lot of money.

Some information could be worth as much as an empire.

This wasn’t an exaggeration but an actual fact recorded in a historical textbook.

Long ago in the past, there was an emperor obsessed with being the strongest Mage and searched everywhere for a way to break through the shackles.

They sold almost half of their entire land in exchange for critical or related information.

Whether they succeeded or not, the historical textbook didn’t record anything.

Some claimed that he succeeded and transcended to a higher realm, whereas some claimed that he failed and was buried in a place where no one could find his body.

Why was this useful?

Because she learned that important information could be sold.

’My chance to make money is here.’ Samantha exclaimed inwardly. Her eyes were practically filled with money when watching Ray.

’Okay, this Sam is weird.’ Ray felt goosebumps and realized it stemmed from her. Since it was still early in the novel, he forgot about which Sam was exactly.

Keep in mind that the so-called mature one and so on and so on were all done by his imaginative mind because the author didn’t bother to describe them.

But to be fair, to describe a person from head to toe and in vivid detail was somewhat creepy.

Even when police asked for a suspect’s appearance, the best they got was some height and ordinary clothes.

"Anyway, registration is done, so what’s next?" Ray turned to Belva and asked.

"It’s probably picking up your uniform and getting assigned to a dorm," Belva responded, her tone somewhat melancholy.

A few years ago, she was also here as a student. But now her status had been reduced to that of a maid.

And truth be told, she was honestly a bit scared.

Some of the professors might still recognize her. By then, she wouldn’t even know how to face them.

"Belva, you’re still able to leave if you don’t feel comfortable," Ray commented. He knew very well that if he were in her shoes, he wouldn’t be able to stay in such a place.

After all, when he lost his leg, he avoided anyone who could recognize him.

It took him a long time to accept that fact and just shut off from the world.

Belva was silent for a moment.

’A villain, huh... a real villain would never show compassion.’ She thought to herself.

"I’m fine, Young Master. I’m sure you wouldn’t let me go because you will dump all your homework on me if Sam doesn’t know how to do it." She snickered.

"How could you think of me like that?" Ray gasped and felt offended.

But the very next second, he gave her a big thumbs up.

"You really are a professional maid. You’ve read my mind so well!"

Belva twitched her mouth in exasperation.

As expected of him...

’I take back my comments. He’s sometimes concerned, but mostly annoying.’

Sometime later, the trio entered the interior, which had a loading queue time.

"Everyone, line up properly. Every 10 people would be sent to the teleportation circle that leads you to the Crestellan Academy." A pigeon that hovered above the air announced loudly.

"Whoa, a pigeon that could talk. I wonder if I can capture it for my own use." Ray was amazed by the pigeon.

"Don’t even think about it." Belva quickly warned. "That pigeon was nurtured by the Principal. Its strength is no joke either."

"Oh, now I’m really tempted." He rubbed his chin and stared at the pigeon. "Roasted pigeon or fried pigeon. Both sound good, but if he listens well and is a good messenger, I might treat him a bit better."

As soon as he finished his words, the nearby students all kept their distance.

After all, the pigeon suddenly stopped flying around and paused mid-flight. Its eyes glowed crimson as they soon turned and glared at Ray.

"What did you just say, human peasant?" The pigeon flapped their wings and asked furiously.

Others thought Ray might shit his pants from overstepping, but they were in for a shock.

"Do you taste good?" Ray drooled slightly and asked curiously.

[+1 Villain Point]

’Tsk, what a useless pigeon. Only 1 point? What kind of masochist pigeon is this to only get mad for 1 point when I claim to want to roast it well?’ He quickly lost interest in farming its points.

"How dare you!" The pigeon snapped and was about to target him until it smelled something fishy.

And by that, it was literally fish.

Ray pulled out a small fish that was in Belva’s magic storage.

"Here you go," he tossed the fish to the pigeon, who quickly opened their mouth in joy.

"Very well, human peasant. Step onto the teleportation circle and your two companions." The Pigeon said after devouring the fish whole.
